As previously mentioned by other members, GZ is now right in the middle of a construction zone for the new Regional Rail link.

For what it's worth, I DNF'd this one around July.

This cache has been completed exterminated! There is a high concrete wall between the road and GZ because of the new construction in the area. The historic rock wall has been bulldozed to make way for the future.
Didn't find it and I suspect it has been removed as there is very new building project starting and it looks like the rock fence has been removed near the cords.
Found a container today, signed log and replaced. It no longer had any green army paint on it, but it was close to where the hint pointed.
Thanks for the cache Team_Ninja
Thanks for the cache Team_Ninja
Scrounged, moved more rocks than a fort Gellibrand prisoner did in a week, but woe alas, no fodder for the nosebag today. Thank you anyway team ninja.
Has been on our list for ages but never seemed to be passing. A bit of a wayward detour today and found the goods in our second favourite (not) type of hide. The first being hides on artillery pieces and the like. TFTC

We felt as if we were under surveillance from the time we left the car. And we were! The adjacent property owners (Colin & Robert) were watching and approached thinking we were pinching rocks from the rock wall. After a chat about Geocaching Robert located the cache and might now be a new devotee.
The land has been in the family for a long time and up to now has been used to graze dry cows from their dairy property at Werribee South. In our discussions it was revealed that the Regional Rail link will join to the Geelong line at this location - land has already been acquired and fenced as you can see if you look to the NW and N. As well there will also be a freeway link starting here and finishing at the Hume. So we surmise that this cache has a limited life at this location.
TNLN . . SL . . Thanks for the hunt Team_Ninja.

First cache of the day and a DNF...
I suspect it's still there, just very well hidden. The dog enjoyed the excitement of staring into the paddocks at weeds.... Stupid dog!
Whilst looking around, I noticed some new fences & posts toward the N/E of GZ.
GZ is right where the new Regional Rail Link will be. That's right. A new rail line and new road.
See the following link.
http://www.regionalraillink.vic.gov.au/construction/west-werribee-junction
Hopefuly I can log a find before this cache has to be disabled or relocated.
I did see a train though.
It was the Melbourne bound V/Line.
See picture.
Thanks for bringing me here Team Ninja

Found a drive around the area today, just picking up some that have been on the radar for a while. TFTC
Nice quick find with the help of spot on coords - cache is in good shape.
Thx for the hide team ninja
Thx for the hide team ninja
After spending the two previous days walking around Melbourne doing caches it was nice to get out of town and not to have to do so much walking. So visiting WA cachers richlink travelled in our direction and we headed off from the Werribee south caravan park to do some caching. Happily we found this one. Thanks Team Ninja
Travelled by train to Werribee to spend the day caching with Liz and Bruce around the area. A quick find.
Found by Maya and Ray at 8:15PM on the 28th of January. We decided to clean a few local caches off the slate in the cool of the evening. On arriving at GZ Maya said "Oh no, not one of these hides, I hate them", but to her delight, she had the cache in hand in very short order. Ironically, we had just traveled by the Overlander from Adelaide to Melbourne past this point on the 9th of January. Little did we realise we passed right by the cache. TNLN. TFTC. The Nomads.
Easy find once I trused my GPS.. I looked everywhere within 15m prior to that and was glad for a quick find given the heat and beating sun.. TNLN Dipped GPS Geocoin.. find # 2116
A nice quick find to break the drive to the Fairy Park with kids. Tftc Tnln 22/01/12 3:42 PM Find #83
Took some time to find this one with the frustration of cars driving past all the time. I have found ones like this before with ease which was even more frustrating that this took as long as it did haha. Glad to find it in the end! TFTC!
Found this afternoon. Had to be careful as there was a bit of through traffic on this road. Got a photo of a train that I will post tmw. thanks Team Ninja.
The Monday before Melbourne Cup day is always a great day to take off from work. It left me on my own without kids or other commitments. I started my run at about 3 pm in the afternoon and made a great time of it. This time I brought the mountain bike along to grab a few caches on bicycle paths. It was all going well until my puncture at about 10 pm in the evening. Well from then on I just went for some easy drive bys with short walks. The run was a good solo effort picking up quite a number of caches. There were only a few DNF’s so it was well worth the effort. This cache was one I found tonight. Thanks Team Ninja for the cache.
8th find of the day, and 3028th total find at 1:30:00 PM.
The cache is not where we initially thought it was, but it still didn't take us long to find it.
It's really nice to find a cache big enough so we could drop off one of our signature item screwdrivers.
Took: Nothing
Left: Nothing

Surprised by the amount of cars driving past. Thought this would have been muggle free. Found @ 19:30 no travel geocoin inside. TFTC
Out for a night run with Quasar3671. Found in what seemed like the middle of nowhere at this time of night. TFTC
Headed out for a night caching run with C@H. It was quite a mild night and our trip would take us through the southern suburbs of Melbourne, around to Altona and then up to Bacchus Marsh.
At this time of night we didn't see any muugles, cars or trains. We stopped right in front of GZ and after a short search the nice sized cache was found. Signed the log and rehid the cache.
Thanks for the hide and the short history lesson on Victoria's railways.

I pulled up near GZ and thought - oh no, another rock wall cache, hope the coords are good. Put the GPSr down on the rock which was 1m from GZ, used the torch to look in all the gaps about 4 or 5 metres each way, then went back to the GPSr rock to find the cache under it! Good coords then. Thanks to team_ninja for this one, my first of this series. Only 1 Vline train went through during my search and I couldn't get a photo
Suscoe enjoyed being the first to sign the new log book today.
After the last visit where the fences barred the way this was nice to finally find.
Left Dove clip, took sylvester.
Also left Geocoin to continue its adventure.
Thanks to Team Ninja for this cache, we have check a few of these off now.
Geelong to Melbourne train passed by and squeaked!

I was at this site today with my work You cannot get into this cache area any more as ARTC is doing rail up grade in the area and will be there for sometime.
Almost sure the cache has gone as the rocks have been taken away at the cache site.
I did this one back 29th Aug.
The road is closed

Was in Geelong today, so I cleaned up a few local caches and this was the last on the way home.
I started in the wrong spot and became a mountain goat to get to GZ.
This needs a new container as it is broken and the contents were wet.

Well, I went to check on my cache to replace the container and it appears someone has moved it slightly from its original spot, so I couldn't find it! I was a bit stretched for time so I gave a quick 5 minute search of the area but I'll be down sometime to replace the container when I have a bit more time to locate the cache.
Found this one with a team from New Zealand, on our way home from the Wagga Wagga MEGA event.

Quick find in the dust and rubbish ridden area. Flies aplenty here.

I found this one a few months ago with 3bt but I noticed it was not showing up in the computer logs so we dropped by this one on the way back to Melbourne after the cache run to check the log date which was 23/7/09.

Rode from home this morning, picked a perfect one great sunrise, found quite easy at 6:30. Considering the amount of rain the cache was fairly dry considering its condition. Could do with some tlc. TFTC SL.
Found this one at 19:25 while on the way home from our monthly bushwalk. With rocks involved, I was fearing the worst but that fear ended up being unfounded as I had the stash in hand quite quickly. I even had the added touch of a rather large goods train pass by while I was logging the find .
I've noticed that there are several "needs maintenance" notes on this one so I won't log another one but I will say that about 1/3 of the lid is completely gone as is one of the holding clips .
Took footy card (it was Juddy after all ), left a Christmas Yowie, SL. Thanks Team_Ninja.

We found our 22nd Team Ninja cache at 3:40pm as the 8th of 9 on our Whip Around Werribee. Boy does Team Ninja love their trains. After finding the cache, we stood a while on the rocks hoping for a train but unfortunately, we were already late for dinner in Werribee and we had to move on. Thanks for the cache from D, H & A B-A.

Well, I don't know how you figured out that this was once a railway station - 'coz there's not much left of it now and I certainly wouldn't have recognised it as one. Anyway, while enjoying a very pleasant public holiday cruising around the area and grabbing some caches, I made my way here and found the cache without problems - although I was a bit wary of snakes while retrieving it.

This was my last cache for the day, on the way home from the Geelong Caching event. Once at GZ, it was a quick find. Just after getting back in my car, a V-line train passed on its way towards Geelong. Thanks for the cache, and a film of mud over my car.
First of a couple of caches on the way to the Geelong Event. Cache found easily, with the area looking desolate on this winter morning. Thanks Team Ninja. I checked out all the photos too.
Traveling back from the Geelong Event with Mr Coffee and the Coffee Clan doing a few caches on the way this was the last one for the day. Tom Tom had a lot of trouble with this one so we ignored him and found our own way but even as we approached gz he was still insisting that we turn around and go back. We often wonder why with the population growth that stations and lines have closed but having no muggles to worry about made for a nice easy cache find. We took nothing but left some Tb's
