Hi Shogun, Thanks for your question.
I found the hide about 15-20 mtrs away from gz.
The cache itself was actually just near gz but smashed up pretty bad.
It appears the locals have made a bike track right past gz which may have made it more visable.
Thanks for your concern.

24-Aug-12
Hi HJ,

Just out of curiosity how far from the listed coords did you find the cache?

Both sirJ and I expanded our search zone and knowing exactly how challenging your hides are we searched and small pocket of area thoroughly Wink

Cheers.

20-Aug-12
Well this game is nothing if not challenging, Unfortunately just cos you can't find does not mean it ain't there!
I found it, not where it was sposed to be but there non the less.
It has been attacked by dinosaurs so it will be there no more.
I will replace it with a new one soon!
Cheers all who found him and god bless.

DNF with shogun. We came, we saw (nothing), we did not conquer!
We ranged all about but could not find anything. After reading the most recent batch of logs and realising that it was last found over a year ago, we think it is probably gone.

10-Aug-12
No find in over 12 mths - we had no luck here today - time to go

29-Jul-12
No cache here?? Sad

22-Jul-12
Too well camo'ed for me or maybe it isn't there anymore.....

10-Jun-12
Well this was too good for me today and the area offers many possible locations. Still after a 15min search expanding the grid still no find, due to the D/T rating I would expect to find it. There was nothing in the area which the hint describes. Believe this one should be checked by the CO. Me thinks this one is MIA.

10-Jun-12
After a 15 minute search, we came up empty handed. Thanks anywayWink

09-May-12
Went on the weekend and could not locate the cache....there was 5 looking. possibly new bike track through location, but could simply be a clever homerjay hide.

28-Apr-12
Looked for ages, couldnt find it will be back soon though

WE LOOKED AND LOOKED AND THEN WE LOOKED AGAIN BUT DIDNT FIND IT ..YOU HAVE OUT SMARTED US HOMERJAY OR ITS GONE ?????????

05/08/2011 20:42 Found: #586 Out for fish and chips and a cache with my middle son AAA. We stopped off at the very busy shop in Whittlesea before heading out. It seems that this is the shop to use as the many other fast food shops appeared deserted. We finally parked on he track and took the short and easy walk to GZ. As others had found, the GPS spun about quite bit under the tree cover. I then stopped moving and waited for it to settle and it started leading me right to the cache which was spotted in the powerful beam of my headlamp. Another nice homerjay73 hand-built hide and cache. TFTC homerjay73 TNLN SL

30-Jul-11
Took the newly badged P Plater in her Suzuki Vitara (mini monster truck) for a bit of dirt road practice, learning a few basics of 4wding up some side tracks and of course on the way, needed (NEEDED I say) to pick up a few caches (most of her logged hours were driving me around to geocaches!).

Geobeast and I took a stroll through this little pocket of bush and after wandering around in circles (the dumbphone didn't like the trees) and leaving no stone (literally) unturned, I turned over something that wasn't a stone and there it was! Anyway, TNLN and TFTC. Nice area for a drive and shall be back to grab a few more of your caches; they are always pleasantly challenging, in interesting locations which is a crowd pleaser for me!

26-Jun-11
Found by Team Ladava around 3.20 on our Whittlesea Wander today. A lovely sunny winter's day spoilt only by a chilly breeze.
Almost had an ‘oh dear’ moment rounding a bend coming up the road when an oncoming car was on our side and there was a very deep washaway rut on the edge.
A bit of experience helps a lot in this game and the clever camouflaged cache was soon in hand. Nevertheless we really enjoy a cache where a bit of thought and effort has gone into the hide. Well done.
TNLN
Our thanks to homerjay73 for the cache and bringing us to this location.
Cheers

Parked close & located GZ easily but almost had to log a DNF when we couldn't find a thing. Eventually broadened search area & GeoDad made the discover. Clever camo! TFTC! Smile

12.10 Out and about with 80 degrees today and the sun is out but not hot. What else could you want, but a list of caches to be done(created by Mrs 80), Mr X behind the wheel and the support team rearing to go. Having parked only a short distance away all four were keen to be the first. GPS were leading us in slightly different spots. Mrs 80 was the winner this time. Nice little hide, it looks if some of the cover paint has come off it.
Thanks for the cache.

17-Apr-11
Found at 12.10pm. Out and about today with xambo4u on a mission to clear out some that we hadn't had time for on previous occasions. This one was found by Mrs 80 when we let our GPS's settle a bit. TFTC

Found with TrynaFindaCached on a small run over to in Whittlesea area. while walking to the GPS co-ords we walked straight passed it. The GPS then started jumping and ended up taking us right to it. TFTC TNLN

05-Feb-11
This one took a while. Everything was sopping wet and dripping. This is my first find by myself with DH and Geodog. Well hidden and cleverly placed. Thanks homerjay73.

Found this at around 8.00pm. Took a while with DMBM! and Geodog. Great hide and well thought out. TFTC!

25-Jan-11
Found by The Empire @ 2:10pm with pocketrocket&friends (Even though she had already found this cache!)
Find number 9 of 17 in pocketrocket territory today. Not quite what I was looking for after checking out the hint but still quite good! The spiders that make webs from one tree to another are naaasty! Thanks for the cache, homerjay73.

22-Jan-11
Took a bit of hunting for this one, which was found with Dylan 7a and Little Gnome. Plenty of spider webs and a host of smaller spiders more alarmed at our presence I suspect and a whopping large Bullant nest nearby which was not in the least disturbed. A very wry clue that could baffle some. Thank you to 'homerjay73' for the Cache and its location. TNLN.

Yes another find by the youngest really getting the hang of this

11-Dec-10
Just started searching for this one when the rain came down. About to abandon searching when it stopped as suddenly as it started. Cache was then soon in hand. A clever hide in a cool container. Our new car officially looks like a geomobile now - scratches, mud and all!! Should've walked from the corner but was just trying to keep drier a bit longer. Thanks.

05-Dec-10
Coords spot on for this one, so a quick find in a nice piece of bushland. Well constructed. Thanks.

31-Oct-10
Out on a night time caching run to clean up the Yan Yean area. The forecast was for 60 - 100mm so I was expecting to get wet tonight. Took a little while to locate the cache. Signed the log and replaced the cache before heading back to the car for cover. Thanks for the hide.

4th for the trip down to Melbourne for this week. Unlike some of the others finding this cache, i was very fortunate to walk up and in the first place i looked, i uncovered the cache... TFTC. GPS around 6m out, so not too bad.

26-Aug-10
This one did brain my damage! My GPS reckons the coords are off by about 20m to the north, and then while I was pondering it went flat. I was reduced to the iphone and spent quite some time wandering around. I found lots of junk that looked like a cache, but no cache...the dog must've thought I went mad as I scoured around....finally found it.

14-Aug-10
A quick and relativly easy find once the GPS was discarded and the eyes engaged.

Not sure of the name, plenty of rubbish lying around.

22-May-10
I finally found this one at 14:50 on my second attempt and just as I was about to give up this time as well Red Face. The tree cover seemed to play funny fellas with the O3 and it wasn't until I headed about 8-10 south that I was able to nab the stash. A very nice area, it's just such a pity that people use these parts of the bush as rubbish dumps [:(!]

TNLNSL. Thanks (at last Wink) homerjay73.

15-May-10
Took a bit of searching with a local muggle motorcyclist checking us out, but finally got it TFTC

15-May-10
Hard to find this one and there was a guy on a motorbike checking us out. TFTC

08-May-10
It took a while searching about and the hint is just a hint so some time was spent fruitlessly. I was just about to give up but something told me I hadn't completely scoured the area...and voila! The cache was empty so a left a small toy car.

Found this one at about 7.30pm this evening. Lovely clear night for caching. Albeit a tad nippy!
Went right past this clever hide. DS found it without too much bother.

Had been past this corner so many times in the last few months on account of DD's Deb partner - never thought to check for nearby caches!

Don't know how many times I told the geokids "Slow down - there could be snakes around and they're very tough to spot", and then I was proved right. 3 of us walked past a spot, then there was a yell from behind - a big blue tongue lizard had just decided to move from right underfoot, and none of us had seen it till it moved. From that point the kids were a lot more careful

Found by Uncle Jiffy on 15 Dec 2008 at 17:52

Parked close by and an easy walk to the area in question. A bit of head scratching as the obvious places were eliminated quickly. Oh well use the touch everything and look everwhere method and there it was. Thanks.

Purple is indeed a fruit and one of my favourite Simpsons quotes.
Took nothing, left nothing.
Thanks homerjay73. The co-ords were good but it was Uncle Jiffy who stumbled across this cache today. Not sure I would have found it alone. Nice area though.

Found by Roma and Max.
We were able to park close by but it took us quite some time to locate your container.
However persistence paid off and we were pleased to leave our mark in the log.
Tkank you again homerjay73.

Found at 4.10pm GAFF3. One of our best lines is when Homer sticks his thumb in some donuts and says "Hmmmmmm - purple" Just kills us!
We don't look at hints too often and this is one of the reasons we don't! Spent some time on this one. Thanks.

08-Oct-08
Found by Mary & David at 1725. An interesting and unfamiliar area of bush for us. Found it fairly quickly. Pity about the building rubbish dumped further down the hill. Our thanks afresh to homerjay73.

31-Aug-08
We got reasonably close by car but realized we had left our bag of GC goodies at the previous cache so had to return and retrieve. Coming back to the scene, the cache was finally found around 2:40pm after investigating several "stones". Nice bushland but a bit of rubbish had been dumped. Took out some broken glass too close to GZ.

22-Aug-08
Couldn't see what colour it was at night, but it was a quick find. We suspect not where it should have been, so we rehid it, lucky Chewin' had the shovel with him. Smile
Thanks, Robmc.

22-Aug-08
Found this one pretty quickly really and happy to do so on such a cold night. There was no camo on the cache that we could see and it was sitting in the open on top of a stump. Don't know what or how it was hidden before but suffice to say we left it hidden better than we found it.
Thanks Homerjay.

03-Aug-08
We found this cache at 3:40pm as the 6th of 14 on our Kinglake to Yan Yean tour. Thanks for the cache from D,H,K & A B-A. Left TB.

Twelfth of twenty two cache finds for the day in the company of Alansee, the cache was found at 1355. No trouble on this one, nice work. I can t believe the amount of junk that is just lying around in some places. thanks homerjay73 for the cache.

Parked at the corner and walked for this one. For some reason we found this one virtually straight away ("look with your hands" is the geocacher's motto, isn't it?) as the GPS and our thinking lined up simultaneously.

Found 200803211625 Smile. TomTom decided to take Malby the GeoHound and I on a rather circuitous route to this cache but once I checked the map we were there quickly and I found the cache easily whilst chatting to Facitman on the phone Razz

OUT: Sunshine GeoCoin

P.S. I didn't spot any fruit, or anything purple at GZ

Found by Bob at 1450

When I was last caching in this area (a couple of months ago) I decided to take the Ridge Rd on the way back just for a bit of a diversion - no way did I think I'd be back on it again so soon (or ever, for that matter!). Anyway, it's a pleasant drive and a couple of caches just makes it better. This one was another bit of good camo, but was easily spotted and identified as being just "a bit different" Wink.

Thanks once more Homerjay73

This is another homerjay73 cache. One of 30 caches found today in company with Muzza and Kiwideb on another great day out. Having done a few Homerjay caches now I sort of knew what to expect. I wandered about the area for minute before the object caught my eye. It is good to see people going to some effort to hide their caches very well, I certainly don't tire of it finding them.

Thanks,
