It looks as if this area is going to be a no-go area for some time to come, so this cache is now permanently archived.
This cache is temporarily unavailable. It is under a pile of rocks as a result of the Christchurch earthquake. I'm unsure as to whether the rocks will ever be cleared away. The clearing of them is certainly not a priority at the moment for the powers-that-be.
I can see peacocks point.......best you take a hard hat if you want to go and look for this one now
During our 4 weeks holiday in the southern island of NZ we did not only find an exiting countryside and wildlife. The many caches brought us sometimes to places we didn´t expect or planned to go to.
Thank you very much for this. Greetings from Germany.

Other comments helped a lot, only found after going too far into bushes and realising the clue didn't fit the location, Found in end tftc
Had a few problems with the GPS getting to this cache, I guess the cliff interfered with the signal a bit - however good clues meant we were able to find it without too much difficulty! Nice spot! TFTC
GPS was trying to take me into the greenery too far, so checked the hint and found it easily. TFTC
This was a welcome find. It took me three goes. I thought I would give it another go when passing by today and was rewarded with a relatively quick find. I must have been soo close last time. Thankyou. Hatas
Nice cache. Loved the hiding spot, a lil tricky but we got there in the end.
First to find in 2011!!
Took a dinosaur, left a cool rubber.

Visited quickly after a major aftershock, so didn't hang around to see if any geology would come down to see me.

I was going to visit this posse a few weeks ago but after the recent Earthquake the area was roped off ebcasue the cliff was potentially unstable.
Driving past today, so took the opportunity. GPS affected by cliffs but hint was spot on. TFTC.

My iPhone is out by a ton. This time around I looked in other places and in other places it was found.
Not sure if I should have been in here today as patches of danger tape along the fence. Didn't see it until after I had found the cache though, but must admit being a little nervous under that cliff.

This cache made us go to the beach, although too cold today to do much there. My ever cautious daughter pointed out the danger aorudn the cache - falling rocks etc!. Nice hide thanks for making us stop here moose breeder - loved the reason for your name BM. Didn't notice the trackable in there! TFTC
Found the GC on return visit after lack of success first time. Mporokosa and I were muggled by the cache owner who explained that GPS signal fluctuates around the region of the cache.

An interesting story and the cache was quickly found. We can't say the same for getting across the road - it took ages on a busy Sunday afternoon. TFTC
Kids found pretty quick - Dad charging off through the undergrowth in the wrong direction!

Another large feature had us on a wild and scratchy goose chase for a while, but cache soon found. Thanks, Jackie and Grant (Nelson)
Nice to get this one after trying twice before many, many months ago. Enjoyed the potted history lesson. Thank you.
(234) Firstly really funny reading this log on line.. Otherwise another place I have never been too.. Quite a nice spot.. TFTC, SL
Peak hour Saturday afternoon lunch time is definitely not the time to attempt this cache. Lots of desperate to'ing and fro'ing getting hither and yon so it was a relief to have this as a find and not a DNF. Thanks moosebreeder1 - interesting yarn and a unique site.
I'm indebted to the others in team McWindeLuneX7 because this one was not in my GPS, don't know why. I assumed this had been disabled so I was impressed when one of us found it quickly. Thanks for the hide!
Scored with McPhan, RexTrex, SolDeLune and Winglen, on a busy Saturday afternoon.
Yes It did take longer crossing the road, then finding and signing the log! Then we were facing the wrong way to recommence our journey...
Thanks for the cache and the interesting story.

We managed to park on the wrong side of the road and I think it took longer to cross over than it took to find the actual cache.
Things were certainly busy around here today. TFTC

3072. [font=Comic Sans Ms][green]A misreading of the title had me thinking that this one would be hidden at the base of a light pole as they look like Gallows. Nope not even close. We managed to park (extremely busy road - pack a lunch if you need to Ewe-turn [eyes pop]). A very quick find and then back to try and enter the flow of traffic.

I was metal detecting with my two boys and we saw two women walking around and giggling in the bushes.. I thought to myself "there must be a geocache around here" Sure enough, they were geocachers! Looked around and found it minutes later..
Neat area!!
Thanks!

Thanks!
Cheers, even a man with a magnetic treasure finder around the rock but with some super stealthing got in and out without raising suspicion!!
Not so quick find. Found hole in rock easily, but cache deep in hole and hard to get. TFTC TNLNSL
Stopped for a quick photo of a nearby lampost that has significance for me and saw the opportunity for a quick log. The cache was well buried. Enjoyed the history. TFTC
This is my second time there and despite a thorough searching of over half an hour had to give up. I've never sen so many rocks with their undersides so clear. I read the logs again and try again another day. Hatas
Out and about with Heho1 on this one today, did stopped into do this one on the way to the beach, good hide TFTC
Took a bit of finding after looking in all the obvious places we went for a second more througher look and found it.Stayed there for a while untill the rain stopped.TFTC
Have often spotted this lovely corner on our way to Sumner, and finally had a good excuse to stop and explore. Thank you for that.
GPS a bit erratic, and after some exploring under likely candidates, we went for the obvious and voila - there it was.

Good hide and quickish find. Was busy watching people using a metal detector on the beach, perhaps we should have borrowed it. TFTC.
Nice easy find although it eluded my better half, niece, and nephew - I guess it needed a proper boys look to find
Well, today the GPS was not too helpful to PB, but after Annie spend some time communing with the hint item it gave up its secret - from a spot that had already been searched a couple of times!!! I think perhaps the cliff nearby put our GPS quite a bit out, but consulting the hint and a dose of geo-sense helped us out considerably. We enjoyed this spot and the hunt. Thanks very much. TNLN
After a bit of a search in the wrong place it turned out to be an easy find. You shouldn't need to go anywhere too dangerous to find this one. Take care. TFTC
It was a nice day and our last tour in New Zealand. It was fun to climbed on the rocks, because we was very blind. Thank you for the cache and many greetings from Germany- Löwin08
We stopped (on our way to sumner road)cause we first see this wonderfull beach, after that i noticed that this cache ist near, so we go on We had to look for a while... We had the right place, but we were blind
Nice location and fun with some climbing.

DNF, again. About 4th time now, I think. This time was being led into a bushy green area with no real path through and no clue-items in sight.
It was hard to extract from its hidey hole, so made sure it was not pushed in so far, and put a large leaf in front for camo.
The park was looking quite picturesque with all the flowers.

Easy find on lovely sunny afternoon. Found with new geocaching friends, took afternoon off work to go. Had a lot of laughs.
This was our fourth find with Little Horrible on a nice warm day. When we left we had an ice cream as a reward. What a great view the homes above must have.
At last! Had my GPS go 'off' so many times as I went past I just had to get it today. Hooray!
Found it,took a bit of looking but i finally found it with help from zrcaxx!!!

Found it today with krisward19, very cool location and nice view from the top of the rock
The last time we tried for this cache a wedding party were having their photos taken. No problems this time though! TFTC
Was lead away from the obvious place for a while till I decided to ignore gps and widen the search and cacge was found in short order. TFTC
Thanks for giving us an excuse to stop and explore this interesting place. An easy find although some suspicious looking muggles had us worried for a while.TFTC TNLN
Called in to check this whilst biking past. Not there! I suspect its been muggled again
My first find!
Saw a bush fire on the drive there and called it in, exciting day.
Especially for the guy who's house was getting singed.

1900hrs;
Found by myself, Lil Spiker & Bruiser after a bit of scratching around. Coordinates fairly bouncey but given the geography of the place it was quite understandable. The hint nails it down to 2 options I would have thought.
Took Nothing - Left Nothing.
Good spot for a cache.
Signed Log.
Many Thanks for the cache.

Interesting spot. Watching the birds on the cliffs. We found that the co-ords were way out (maybe they need to be checked). Tricky wee spot but found by reading other peoples logs. The clue didn't really help us, with the co-ords being right out because there was a large rock by where our GPS sent us and it looked like others had looked there too. Left a tiny swap.
11.20am. Quite a cunning hide. Need inside information on retrieving it! Thank you. David.
Second visit, still can't find it. My geosense obviously not as strong as the PP's. Definitely find co-ords off though, as they pointed into a tangled brush of planting that would be impossible to enter.
Nope - couldnt find it either. We looked for about half an hour but to no avail..
Maybe next time.

Yes we found it! Outstanding Hide. Co-ords were a bit off but a little bit of geo sense pointed us in the right direction. Surprised to find no entries at all in log.

Having seen that the last 3 searchers failed to find this I was worried that it may have been muggled again. So I checked this morning. It is still there, but as I say in the notes: "very well hidden"
Good luck
Good luck
Sorry, was unable to find this one with WoolfieNZ's eyes, too. However, not entirely sure where to be looking as several possibilities fit the clue.
No luck in finding the replacement cache - it must be well hidden if its still there.
Mr & Jnr B spent about 15 minutes looking .. but came away empty handed this time, even after using the clue.
Thia cache has been replaced. The coordinates are the same but the cache is now a micro and is within about 70cm of the original cache. It is very well hidden, hopefully meaning that it will not be muggled again.
Following the note from Kiwi-springbok I checked up on this today to find that it has been muggled and no sign of the cache anywhere around. I may yet set up a "Pecock's Gallop Mark 2" nearby and possibly a micro to try to hide it better from muggling-eyes.
We looked and looked and looked - but no sign of anything. Maybe we should try again another day.....
A familiar place and another climb up the rock to sit in the sun whilst filling in the log - a bit of an easier find this time with no wedding going on TNLN Thanks.
Just realized we failed to log some of our finds from our trip to New Zealand back in September. TFTC!! dropped TB Sakiman's
