Contents are a little wet and mouldy smelling but the cache and location was pretty cool! Found in person with Anna and bmil042 (while on a video call).
Contrary to the last log, the contents are not in good condition. Log is soaked and mouldy. Tftc
Found on a trip from South Australia to Tasmania, mainly to visit family and friends and to also find a few caches.
After completing a couple of caches in Hobart first thing this morning, I headed up the mountain to find a few caches of interest including this one, before going down to the Huon.
Cache and contents are in good condition.
Thanks Xorg and Pixelwarrior for the cache.

My 200 Find
First day out GeoCaching for 2023. I had been planning a trip up Mt Wellington to do some caches for a while now & finally got a chance (let’s just say it was to hot over the last couple of days to go out). Got to the top only to be clouded in, that was OK I was not there for the view anyway. Only problem I had was a rain & when it was not raining you would get wet anyway from the cloud. I still could not get over how many people were up there even with no view, not to mention the amount of people coming up the zig zag track.
Never mind I did really enjoy being up there with very little visibility it made it kind of nice.
After some time on the mountain I thought I would head back down out of the cloud to find some caches off the mountain, it was getting a little late & I did not want to be on the mountain for to much longer.
A lovely stop this one was. I nice trek & a lovely area to take unusual photos. I did enjoy this little walk.
Thanks for the cache & the adventure for my 200 find.

Gps was bouncing around. Thanks for the hint. Nice big solid cache but the harsh environment has attacked the log book. The log book was wet and frozen. Managed to prize open a section and get the bshwckr stamp on it. Dropped off a freshly minted Mid North Coast path tag for the collectors.
tassietan and I had scheduled a caching day to find the last Reach the Peak(Everest), and decided that it would be fitting to do this on our own mountain.
It was a glorious day to be up there, and it seemed that half of Tasmania and half of the tourists visiting Tasmania were there as well. We decided to leave the top and head down a little to enjoy our picnic lunch away from the crowds.
What a lovely spot this is!
We sat on the platform and enjoyed the view and the amazing miniature alpine trees and bushes.
As mentioned the cache was totally waterlogged. We put it all out in the sun while we had lunch, but the log book is beyond drying. Luckily tassietan had some supplies, so we put in a new log in a new ziplock.
Thanks for the cache and the picnic spot Xorg and Pixelwarrior.

Came up With RoadieM to our Mt Everest (Kunanyi) to get the final points for the Reach the Peak challenge. Having spent a considerable amount of time up top with the hoards of visitors, we decided to find a quieter place for lunch and Currawong View was perfect. Sat and marvelled at the view while we munched on our picnic lunch, but not a currawong in sight today.
RoadieM made the find and we tried to dry the log contents out in the sun while we had lunch, but were unsuccessful do decided to put a replacement log in the cache. Thanks for the spot Xorg and Pixelwarrior.

TFTC. Unfortunately the log is full of water and log book ruined. Needs a serious day in the sun to dry out.
To bad the old hut isn't here here now, could get out of the wind and cold.
We are on our tassie caching adventure.
We solved so many puzzle caches, more than we can find in the short time we are here.
Also we have a list of other cache of interest to find.

A quick find with gwd.aussie while enjoying a tassie caching adventure. Plenty of caches we want to grab (solved puzzles, old caches, favourited caches, challenges and caches that help with challenges). This cache helps with a challenge.

A nice quick find due to dead-on co-ords. A nice sized container with dry contents. These types are really cool, they do a great job of protecting the contents [^]

TFTC. On my last day in Tassie thought I’ll head up the mountains. Great view and found with snow falling. Cold.
Thanks for the cache Xorg and Pixelwarrior.
Have wanted to grab this cache and one other up near the top of the mountain for a while, but as I usually geocache with my geoGSP, I had to wait until a day he was at doggy daycare.
Out and about with RLD4963 today, and although the top of the mountain looked like it was clouded in from down in the city, once we were above the chalet we drove out of the top of the cloud to clear blue skies - bonus!
We were able to park pretty close, and I made my way to GZ and made a find in a very scenic spot. Thanks for giving me a reason to visit the mountain today.

Interesting history! It was very cold up here today, so I didn't linger long and thankfully found it easily. TFTC.
Another great day in Tasmania with some found geocaches. There was also a ghost at the Remarkable Cave and Mount Wellington. On the way there was still some bycatch. Thank you for the caches !
Will spend a cupple of days on the beautiful island of Tasmania. Found this Box

Found with Mtrax on our second day in Hobart! The weather was overcast, but the rain held off! A nice cache here - but alas - no views today (too foggy) - thanks PW.

As we made our way down from the top of Mount Wellington/Kunanyi we realised why it was a mountain of such mystery and power throughout the ages.
A Ski hut - another quirky event we would NEVER have known without the caching game. A FP for the fun.
Thanks to 'Xorg and Pixelwarrior' for placing this cache on the geo-gameboard.

Nice container and a great view from here. Log is a tad damp but serviceable. Dried it out a little in the sun while we admired the vista. TFTC

With a couple of weeks annual leave, we have decided to bring ourselves down to Tassie for a break. Why Tassie? We have visited once before and loved it, but didn't have sufficient time to see much, and 2nd, Tassie was the only state/territory that we had not cached in, and 3rd, the weather is cooler than we have been experiencing in Victoria.
Day 6. Heading north towards home today (well, the Spirit of Tasmania in Devonport).
TFTC, SL and put snuggly back in place

Found this one on the way out. Beautiful spot up top and views from all directions. This was an easy find once we were at GZ.
Tassie Trip Day 96 - Today we assended the mount wellington for a look with good weather and clear skies it was a perfect day for the run up the hill however it was a little windy at the top but that was to be expected and the view was wonderful with those clear skies.
Now arrived at a suitable parking place again working our way toward GZ using a previous trodden trail it was soon seen that the hut that was nearby would have been one of the best places to stay in the area however only those foundation remains but the view was well worth the pause in our journey.
Thanks Xorg and Pixelwarrior for placing this cache for us to admire the view and grab a smiley

Hi Xorg and Pixelwarrior, thanks for the cache.
Wow, within 10 minutes I've visited the ruins of both an ice rink, and, a ski Hut.
Wouldn't have known about them if not for geocaching, so thanks for sharing.
The inside of the cache is a bit wet - which surprised me, given the container. Also a bit wet is the inside of the ziplock bag and so too is the logbook. I drained it a bit but didn't have anything to dry it out properly.
Dropped off a trackable.
Cheers, EPs.

Reperio at 1500.
While staying in Hobart with the family, we headed up to Mount Wellington to take in the splendid views, and then stopped by here on the way back down. We managed to squeeze in a park near GZ, and the kids and I jumped out for the search where we soon located the cache. Always great to get out and go off track.

Cold and cloudy but a great spot. TFTC and bringing me here. Pairs nicely with the old experimental skating rink across the road
Thanks for bringing us here. Surprised to find a ski lodge existed in this place. Always amazed at what Geocaching helps us learn and discover. TFTC.
Followed GPS across boulders to this bomb-proof cache, then discovered a much easier route back to the road. Tftc. MattyH from Tassie
We were exploring Hobart today and finally heading up the famous Mt Wellington. Unfortunately along the way we encountered two flat tyres. Pagan was left with the car to await the arrival of the tow truck while Loki and muggle friend continued up the road on foot. This was a nice stop along the way, with awesome views despite the cloud cover. Thanks Xorg and Pixelwarrior
Strangely enough there was a few currawongs in the area. Took a while to find and collected some litter as well. tftc tnln
Being up here in the area I went for this one as well . Not far from the road, but using the wrong way it can take some time to get there . The find was quick and so was my way back using a better track now .

A relatively quick find whilst exploring my "happy place" on top of Mt Wellington! I love places that feel otherworldly, and this takes the cake. TFTC!
Down from Brisbane visiting friends and family and grabbing a few caches along the way. Out with a muggleish friend (she's certainly interested in, and enjoys caching, but not enough to have her own account or write logs!).
We were amazed to see the ruins as we got closer to GZ, as there's no hint of them from out on the road. I made the find fairly quickly once I identified the correct GZ. Cache is in good condition, TFTC

This cache was found by TaurusSix and I on this day. The setting sun made for some great photography.
We took our friends caching on the mountain today, one of them was very interested in this site as she has been a member of the Wellington Ski Club for many years.
Many photos were taken of the area, fantastic views from here.
The cache was located very quickly, a very good container for the mountain, contents dry inside.
Thanks for the cache and also for showing us this site.

Seems like this was a good weekend to escape the scorching Queensland heat. I have been in Tassie for a week now to sail an open replica 1908 Moreton Bay net fishing boat from Cockle Creek in the south to Hobart for the Wooden Boat festival. Crookedshaz and I managed to borrow some wheel sand find our way to the top, whereupon we were greeted with a south westerly change and some falling snow........in mid February.
With the temp outside the car hovering around 1 degree and 45 knots blowing from the south west, I didn't stop long to admire the view. No Currajongs hanging around here today. Many thanks Xorg and Pixelwarrior.

Our last find for the afternoon. Was a little wet under foot especially in sandels but it wasn't far and not terribly hard. Found cache quickly where I expected to find it. Everything was in good condition and log was signed quickly. Was only too happy to return to the vehicle tho as the mozzies where starting to eat me
As stainless-steel-rat and I returned to the summit to collect my car after a walk we joked about the cache just up the road here. We have joked about it for a year, asking each other if we wanted to do it but parking close isn't easy so we haven't. I said we should do Currawong View too. SSR didn't realize it was here but we parked nice and close so only had 40 or so metres to cover. As usual we didn't find a decent track in to GZ but did on the way out. We hopped and jumped form tuft to tuft trying not to step in the water, it was quite swampy through here. No such problem on the return.
We arrived at the only place GZ could really be. SSR still had 9m away but I was spot on. That's a turn-up for the books. The nice sturdy container was perfectly dry inside. As always we looked through the swag, and always (unless the kids are in tow) we took nothing. A couple of quick photos and it was time to get our skates on
thanks Xorg and Pixelwarrior. Glad to tick this one off finally.

We had been talking about doing some walks on the mountain for a while now and myself and GooseandEgg came up with the idea of doing the Zig Zag and Organ Pipes from the top down using two cars to do it the lazy way while we were up on the mountain getting some caches over the Christmas break.
So today we got ourselves together and after dropping a car off at the Chalet we parked up at the top and donned our boots even meeting a fellow cacher while we were doing so, it was a great day to be up here and we were soon heading downhill and even before the first cache we were treated to some great views making this walk twice as long as was planned due to us stopping and taking in the view every now and then but that half the fun.
After doing our walk round Zig Zag and Organ Pipes track we headed up the road again to get gooses car from the top of the mountain, so many times in the past we have driven by this cache saying we will get it next time, but today I could see a spot to pull off the road so we parked up and headed off towards ground zero, with differing GPS readings we headed for the only place the cache could be and what do you know I was soon holding up the cache, we took in the view as we signed the log.

Wonderful place for a cache, but shame about the developing geo-trail. Lovely vegetation to admire. A favourite for this. TFTC Xorg and Pixelwarrior.
Geomum called at just the right amount of reception so Stumble's Mate ducked away to find this one, very grateful. I got to enjoy the view as I updated the family about the recent adventures.
But the cache trail was calling. Said a quick goodbye as I saw Stumble's Mate take a small stumble near the track. TFTC! Pretty amazing views here.

Whilst StumbleTrip stayed in the car to chat to her mum, I made the trek into get this one. Thanks to nature for providing the required stepping stones to get me to the cache (soooo much water around!), I made a quick find and then headed back to the car.
Found with the geo-son during a Sunday morning bike ride down the mountain. A great view and we had it all to ourselves which was quite a pleasant change from the crowds at the summit. I love pipe caches so a favourite point from us. Many thanks Xorg and Pixelwarrior
Last one for the day, hands stopped working but we really enjoyed the view. Thanks a lot!
