We searched here for a while.. Couldn't find it..

10-Jun-23
Found it

13-May-23
Team V&P and I spent a bit of time searching for this, above and below. Turned out our original position was the place to be. The hint was helpful. I think this may have been a replacement container. The cache seems to be secure but may be difficult to spot. Bit of a precarious hiding place but it’s there!

08-Jan-23
Busy day on the track but a quick enough find in the third place I looked

03-Sep-22
Hint out of date but a quick find. Log wet though, just signable. Great walk in the sun but lots if muggles.

01-Aug-22
A surprisingly quick find in the first place I looked! Hadn't read the logs so was expecting some different but that's okay, happy to find it. Thanks

22-May-22
Wow - this one hasn't been found for nearly 10 months! This was a fairly quick find on a nice walk up the Valley Track which we hadn't been on before. This was a surprise find as we had something else in mind from the cache title, but now looking through the logs, I see it has been replaced at some stage - perhaps not in the initial location. Thanks for the cache and thanks for bringing us here.

22-May-22
Not immediately obvious. Probably didn’t look hard enough. Will try again another time

30-Jul-21
Luna and I observed ivss_xx from the track and pointed to the right direction.

Found on a dog walk.
Finally turning these 2 Valley track DNFs into smilies. Dark already but luckily we had headtorches. Cache found by persisting and looking multiple times behind the same veil.
Not as described but rather an eclipse container. Must have been replaced somewhere along the way.

Kia ora! Paldies!

Not hard to find but maybe needs to be more “obviously” a cache as it does look like discarded rubbish.

StreetWalkerNZ had found this cache on a solo ramble exactly 10 years and 12 days ago, so about time I turned the green icon into a yellow smile.
It was a warm day, and there wasn't much breeze in the valley, and fortunately the climb wan't too arduous. We had a breather in the shelter on the way up. I had found the cache there back in 2009, so obviously I didn't realise this cache was not that much further up the track, else I would have carried on to find it back then.
Today, with the hint, the (replacement) cache was a quick find as I spotted a glint of metallic blue Smile. TFTC.

10-Mar-19
Sunday walk in drizzle. Quick found. TFTC.

06-Feb-19

Quick find. TFTC

Found on a very wet day

18-Nov-18
Found Molly's replacement cache. Thanks!

05-Nov-18
Third visit and spent quite some time. After no action from the owner we decided that the cache must be gone and replaced it with a mint container. It should be sitting nicely close to a fern and is all ready to go again. If someone finds the original cache or the owner does some maintenance feel free to let us know.

18-Jun-18
Add us to the list of DNF. Not found for over a year - this one might need to be checked.

24-Mar-18
Very odd. Two very obvious spots to hide at base of cliff. Both match clue ‘veil’ but no luck

29-Dec-17
My only DNF of the day here. I looked forever, used the hint, used the previous logs, dug around a lot, etc., but no love. Picture is of the veil. Not sure what the cache name is supposed to mean. Maybe I'll be back!

03-Dec-17
Yay

17-Oct-17
DNF
Had a look on the lower part of the rock outcrop, where the coords were pointing but couldn't find it. Will be back some other time with more time.

03-Mar-17
I decided to have another go at the caches on this track after work this evening, I ran out of daylight on the way down from Rapaki the other day. Found this one reasonably quickly, which was nice, although as others have said the container is past its use by date... I wasn't sure if it was going to be on top or at the base, luckily it was pretty easy to get to Wink. TFTC (3471)

28-Feb-17
With the daylight quickly fading, I had a quick look, but decided it best to leave it for another day.

08-Jan-17
The tin is quite rusty but the log book is dry

18-Jul-16

06-Jul-16
Found it

15-May-16
Had a fantastic hike up the Rapaki track today, along the Summit Rd, back down part of the Mt Vernon Farm Park and back over to the Rapaki track collecting caches all along the way - woohoo! What a blast - although it was pretty chilly this morning, but warmed up a little this afternoon. My thin North Island blood didn't enjoy the temperature, but loved the hike. TFTC Smile

14-May-16
A bit of a walk with the kids to gt them away from electronic things and to dons one filming for my YouTube channel. Easy find but sent max on a wild goose chase teheheheh. Super crap day at work... and what does one do when they are having a super terrible day at work, and the weather outside is absolutely gorgeous??

Go out caching in the port hills of course!!

After finding another cache, decided to continue along this way.. because, why not?

Had time, and was having fun!

This cache took a wee while to find, but after stepping back, and thinking about the hint from a few angles, found it Smile

Hubby was not that well, so I went for a short walk, which turned out to be 3x longer than intended hahahaha Smile

It was already later then expected so it was time to find a way back. Just crawled the way down (from the up-bike road. We bushbashed through the high grass, there were the GPS told me that there was a river and so managed to come down on the bottom track.

This cache did fool me for a while, but was happy to find the riffle cache
and now it's time to hurry as hubby was already texting that he missed me

20-Dec-14
Nearly didn't find it in the half light but the hint helped. Tftc

I had this in my match list cause I had looked before, when I got a email to say it had been found today I was determined to go get it today too. Quick message to Nosynel asking do you wanna go find a cache.....dah yeah. So off we went with little doggies in tow. Looked and looked, NN text a previous finder hoping for a wee hint as we had spent quite some time, but we knew it was here so must keep looking. Looking over spots we had already looked and then i finally said to myself if i was hiding my first cache this is were i would find it and put my hand on it. Didn't end up with a hint as we found it before they remembered. Phew glad to have this off the watch list. Was such a nice day to be out in the hills. ChCh is s lucky they are nice and close. Cheers for the hide.

10-Mar-14
Tricky find

15-Dec-13
Very nice hide. Tftc.

08-Dec-13
This cache made the perfect goal for a Sunday afternoon stroll. RogoBaby, Yorkshire P and I spent some time looking. Lots of places to post a cache. Re-checked the GPS and then looked again in a certain spot and - voila - we had our cache. The camp worked really well. The cache container is a bit rusty but still works well. A lovely view down the valley into town. Thanks for the cache and the walk.

15-Nov-13
Quick find, I always liked this valley, tftc.

06-Nov-13
Smile Out for a training run on the hills, missed this one last week. TFTC

16-Oct-13
I wasn't very hopeful with finding this cache with 2 DNFs, but was so close had to have a look for myself, after reading the logs and little more perseverance found it! Awesome! Was very difficult to see due to the rustic looking container Smile tftc

11-Oct-13
A bit disappointing.

11-Oct-13

25-Aug-13

Had a shot at this one after bowling another cache slightly further down the track. Good hints, cache quickly in hand. Thanks.

13-Apr-13
I haven't checked my cache for a few years. Container is a bit rough but still does the job. You could say it is a bit rustic. Makes the camo even better. I also pushed it back into the proper spot, which makes it just a little harder to find.

11-Feb-13
Great wee Cache on a great wee walk Smile TFTC

11-Jan-13
Had two successes this morning and started to search for this one. I disturbed a few of the local geckos at the 'veil'. I was looking for a suitable post box but didn't come to anything. Put the GPSr on the ground and waited for a good signal. I carried on looking. I went back to the second spot I searched and had a good look. Aha! What a well camoed cache. I hardly noticed it. I carefully opened it an disturbed the local spider who has taken up residence. Signed log and replaced. Made a decision to head back down and head home, we've got a busy day ahead. Thanks for the cache.

19-Jan-11
Family walk up Valley track. Likely spot located quickly but it took Mrs Gaters and a "womans look" to find. Welcome shade on a blistering hot afternoon!...

08-Jan-11
Looked for this months ago and gave up after spending many minutes. Today, however, I spotted it straight away and was sure I looked exactly this place last time. Funny how ones eyes play up. TFTC
