This was destroyed by the bushfires and we never received any of the collect replacements so time for this one to go.

This cache has been temporarily disabled due to a recent fire in the area. An extensive area of ForestrySA plantation and native forest was burned, leaving many trees unstable and presenting a potential risk to public safety. For safety reasons, visitors should keep clear of all areas while ForestrySA works to ascertain the exact extent of the damage. Areas will reopen as safety permits. See updates at https://www.forestrysa.com.au/News/Media-Releases.

Before enabling this cache, the cache owner should confirm that the area is open to visitors and that the cache is still in place and in good condition.

10-Jan-15
Disabling until we can access this area to assess any damage that may have been caused by the recent bushfire. We will replace and do any maintenance required once the area is accessible and deemed safe to enter.

We parked the car within a reasonable distance and walked the rest of the way to GZ. A short hunt around and the cache was soon in hand. Hmm, they don't call it b**tard bush for nothing - prickles everywhere. Great place for a cache. Thanks for bringing us here.

21-Apr-14
Came across from Ribet, Ribet and followed an easy path to GZ. The cache is in reasonable condition. This is caching at its best Smile TNLNSL TFTC SA ParrotHead!

Geohubby and I buzzed off to try to find this cache in very soggy, very windy weather...just so we could give it another log seeing as it hadn't been found for over a year.

Imagine our surprise to find a log in the book only two days previous to our visit....no logs in twelve months and then 2 in 2 daysBig Grin

We agree with the previous cacher....it is a beautiful walk in a lovely area. We are now back in SA for a few weeks so we hope to find many more caches like this one.

Many thanks for the hide SA ParrotHead. The cache is in great condition. [^]

What is wrong with SA cachers?
An easy traditional cache, a beautiful walk, a picturesque location, a short drive from the northern suburbs and yet no finds in over 12 months!?
Thanks for putting out 'real' caches SA Parrothead

01-Sep-12
OI!! considering I'm logging this cache nearly 10 months after we were actually there, where is everyone. Come on... it's lovely here, a great walk with beautiful scenery. Stopped for refreshments, and on our way. Seriously, do it, and when you come bring an extra log book for Ribet Ribet, TA. Thanks for the cache SA ParrotHead

First day of spring and the weather is great so off for our first decent walk for too long.
Not too far off the track through open bush for a quick find.
Not wanting to backtrack if we could avoid it decided to follow stream in right general direction until we hit the trail.
Thanks for the cache and a nice walk SA Parrothead

This is our 3rd for this afternoon and enjoying the stroll. Blue skies and the greenness of the scenery is pleasant. Stopped for food and drink and decided cache needed a pathtag. This one is nice and dry. Ttrogg suggested we then follow the little waterway to the next path. Much easier. TFTC

Another great find today.

Came down from "Gate 29" via the paths, then went offroad via the leather boot express.

Took a little bit of working out, as the GPS decided that it would keep moving the coordinates on me Sad

Eventually found and the hint suddenly made sense!

Swapped some swag and signed the log book before re-hiding again.

Thanks for the Cache!

A nice secluded spot on a slight detour from the main track. Found this one without too much trouble. Weather started to warm up, despite the prediction of rain today. TFTC SA_P

A great morning for a walk in the light rain. Love it. Decided to do the 3 caches in close proximity to each other without returning to the car. Another great walk but I think the name should be called Bull Ants as the cache is in the middle of a nest of them. One of them took a liking to my leg and promptly took a bite. The clue helped find this one easily. TFTC SA ParrotHead

Lovely spot. Continued on from Ribet Ribet. GeoMary found the cache, but travel bug was harder. GeoMark started to do a circuit around 5m from the cache without success. GeoMary finished writing in the log and then saw something that looked a little out of place. Excellent TB found. Will be moved on to another interesting site. Left parrot head for SAParrotHead. Took Pathtag and the TB.

Had a plesant walk to GZ and watched the storm role in and thought I will beat that. Found and logged to the sound of small pita pata then it rainned like I have never seen before and with a kilometer to the car it was a saturated experience. Loved it thou made it a great adventure. thankyou for bringing me here. TFTCSL left gecko and PT took hello kitty

Took the direct route from Gate 29 like others before me, a word of advice to the owner of the green Torana, I think your supposed to walk between caches not drive. [:o]. Left "The Rock" TB please find "The Rock" within 5m of the cache container.

Out bushwalking in the forest today...came straight over (almost literally) from Gate 29. Cache was a little wet, dried it out & removed some soggy stickers. Replaced more horizontally to keep the rain out.

Out: mini torch
In: carabiner key chain

Cheers & TFTC!

outfoxed!

The creek was flowing well, crossed it a couple of times in my quest but the gps was going all over the shop and had to move on.

Got a couple of your other caches today so it was all good.

cheers

We'd been out for a while, searching for "M's", by the time we got back on track and close to this cache. Mrs O was having a few problems with the cold and decided to trek back to where the car was parked, leaving Mr O to find the cache. After some necessary bush-bashing, the cache was quickly located and the log signed. TFTC Parrothead.

Left the 'Bail Me Out' TB in this one.

The first of four caches found while caching in this area today. Thanks for putting together a nice grouping of caches. A walk in this neck of the woods is worthwhile just for the wildflowers at the moment, what a great variety of colours shapes and sizes, and this cache was interesting too. Saw a couple of signs of significance to this cache on the nearby track.

23-Aug-08
Found by Miss Wibble, Bec from team_smeg and Hyeon on a nice walk down, down, down, then up, up, up. There was quite a bit of water in the creek but it didn't make it too difficult on the approach. After finding the cache we headed uphill towards the ridge track, and heard a rustling in the bushes which we assumed would be a kangaroo, but it turned out to be a VERY big German Shepherd, with no collar! Luckily it didn't appear to be a mean dog, observed us for awhile and then ran off. We saw him again up on the ridge and then again near Ribet Ribet, and his tracks all over the place. What is he doing in here??
TNLNSL.

Found with Claire from Team Wibble. First find in a long time!

Meandered over to this one after Gate 29. Saw a deer on the way back! It is a shame you can still hear the cars! TNLNSL TFTC[^]

After 'Gate 29,' we were wondering what to expect on our walk over here and weren't disappointed Big Grin.
Had to battle spider webs as we trekked up the dry creek bed and rummaged around for awhile to find the cache.
Enjoyed the sunny side of the valley this time Cool.
TN.
Left panda bear.
SL.
Thanks again Parrothead.
Now where is 'Lots of M' going to be [?][?][?].

26-Apr-08
My second find for the day after walking over from Gate 29.
I was already soaked and was now very muddy as well, but I was still enjoying myself which was the important thing.

I took the conventional approach to this cache, i.e as little bush bashing as possible, unlike Team Hurtle who must of had some real fun on his way in through the scrub.

Second of four finds on our long stroll around Mount Gawler. Followed the geo-roo trail after we spotted the correct signs. Another pretty location that could do with a wash and a dozen inches of precipitation.

02-Mar-08
No foxes here today, they're far too cunning to be outfoxed like that. Nice little detour off the main trail, on our way through to Ribet, Ribet.

TNLN - Thanks SA ParrotHead!

Found this one after doing Gate 29 , went in the hard way from the top of the Hill ( Idiot ) and found it easy then came out the easy way . How the Hell do you pick these spots :>)a nice 8k walk round trip from home . TNLN thanks Parrots great cache

2nd of Parrotheads today. A nice walk over from 'Gate 29', went cross country half of the way! Saw the signs for 1080, an easy find and a nice walk with a little drizzle.

Thanks & grabbed the Czech geocoin.

The sun was just setting as I left the car and headed off to get this one. While in the creek, I thought I had put my back out by snapping backwards at about mach 3 after walking into the web of a really large spider SurprisedRed Face Bugger, It really hurt for a while Twisted (This is just one of the reasons I don’t do night caching – usually [^] ). Found it easy enough and claimed the STF. Made no swaps, but did put in a Czech geocoin. Cheers PH Big Grin

Oh the crazy things that caching can make you do.

18 months ago we would not have considered taking the boys for a late night walk through the bush! But we did... all to be the first to sign our names in a little book - it was great fun Big Grin.
