We took VULCANO TB on an evening walk to see the machinery - this cache start icon is a good location device! Yes, we did the "Tour de Twizel" again this visit, but anticlockwise this time, and we detoured to see the Twizel cemetery as well. http://www.kiwicelts.com/mediawiki/index.php/Twizel_Cemetery No cache there yet?
Checked on the final and it is missing again. Will have to find a new location for it.
Found it along time ago before I started doing this so went to see if it is in the same spot and it is with a log book and 2 pencils.
Tried to do this one with the hopes of replacing the container at the final. Brought a few containers with me since I wasnt sure of what the final would look like. However, arrived at WP8 to find that it may be a bit different than when it was last found 18 months ago. There have been some trees down at the coordinates. The hint didnt help to locate the object with the numbers that I needed. Oh well.
Will the final cache be replaced. As has not been there since December last year.
Great afternoon looking around Twizel with 2 Aussie mates. Found cache spot but a muggle had stolen it [B)].
Completed the Tour but alas no cache. Phoned owner and he will replace in a few days.
Thanks for that KiwiLegend.
Thanks for that KiwiLegend.
Completed this one with the wee fella on the back of the bike. Unfortunately no sign of the cache at the final location, which was confirmed with the cache owner.

Did the tour as a training run which took about 1.5 hours but was quite enjoyable. Didn't find the first waypoint, but discovered at the end that it wasn't required. Saw plenty of bunnies on the run and a few muggles. The 'swimming holes' were not particularly inviting due to recent rain/snow the water was swift and cold! The coordinates were easily solved and arrived at GZ to see it sitting out very obvious with no lid on. We found the lid and put the cache back together and hid it from view. The inside was a bit wet.
Thanks for a great multi.
Thanks for a great multi.
Found all but the first tag, but at the end of it our coordinates were well out but followed a hunch and returned to a possible place and found the cache!! TFTC
What a great cycle tour around Twizel. Papa lived here for five years and never ventured down these tracks - but that was before geocaching!! Guwapo cycled the whole way, but was getting a little hungry near the end, sadly although we took his swimmers we didn't have time to enjoy the swimming holes. Quick find at the end after a spot of lunch at a nice cafe with playground near the machine. Papa did the maths over lunch and then off on the bikes again to complete our circumnavigation!! Maraming Salamat!
Out this morning for a Tour of Twizel... but the embarrassing thing is, we didn't find tag 1, and didn't find any other tags either until we got to WP 8 and and then WP10. Then (duh) realised we should have looked at the explicit hints and dug a little deeper... So Mr Daywalk was delighted, because a second Tour was exactly what he wanted. Still didn't find the first tag at the hill viewpoint, but realised later that it isn't needed. Excellent choice of final hide- and good to read that the local gardener has taken it under her wing. Any chance of a Twizel River Epic? We did that new 12 km track later in our holiday, and it's got so many beautiful spots just crying out for a cache.
We biked around this, this morning before it got too hot. We particularly enjoyed the stretch beside the river.
+ a marble, - nothing.

Great ride to get clues. The whole family enjoyed it. Thanks for the effort putting this cache together. Nice work!
Guessed (correctly) the final, but did the loop anyway to warm up, in one of our favourite parts of S.I.
Before arriving in Twizel, we stopped off at waypoint X to check a number for W.E.K.A. and with that number Mr W.E.K.A. had a fair idea of where the final co-ordinates were. As it happened, the co-ords weren't entirely necessary. We didn't even have them in our GPSr, and JBcivic and I had parked the car and were already heading for the right feature. W.E.K.A. confirmed we were heading in the right direction when they had parked up, and the cache container in my hand was even better confirmation. Suffice to say that a nudge in the right direction was all that was needed, as there was really only one place for the cache to be hidden along this road. I'm sure the rest of the tour was good though, and if I'm ever back in this area I will ensure to visit waypoints 1 through 9..... TFTC
We hadn't expected to be back in this area so soon, but it just happened. We rechecked the waypoint we forgot to write down last time, and having deduced that the missing waypoint could have only two possible values, we had two possible locations for the cache. As we approached, one was clearly more likely, and the cache was soon in hand. Found with nick_h_nz. TFTC
Found easily, when we stopped nearby. W.E.K.A. had said it was just up the road, and we (nick_h_nz and I) guessed where.
Visited with KOPAC from Taranaki on a MTB expedition. Devastated as the forested part of the tour was closed meaning we missed out on 2 of the answers. Pity, as we were going really well up to that point.
It took quite a while, with a combination of driving and walking in the 30 degree heat, to work oiur way around this cache, but unfortunately we were unable to find number 8 (H) so were unable to calculate the coordinates. We suspect it is missing, as the hint was very specific, and we did note some of the others were slightly insecure.
Lovely scenery great bike ride. Couldnt find n.2 though. keen to do it again!!!
Great fun on a very cold, foggy, hoar frost ridden day. Have done this walk/bike ride so many times & was great to have another purpose for walking it.
All points easy to find except Stage 7 which has suffered from the ravages of floods & frozen ground. However with a little bit of logic & maths, we were able to determine the correct coordinates for the cache. Almost missed the correct number at Stage 5 because it was hidden by snow! Nearly used the wrong number.
Many thanks

We started this one on our January trip but some muggles arrived at one of the seats a couple of minutes before us and broke out the fish and chips.
We forgot to take the data at Easter
Today I went and rechecked a couple of the ambiguous numbers, headed back to the batch and played with the mapping software, eliminated the S problem and we picked the cache up on the way to our other days adventure.
Just for fun I went and did the whole circut again last night with my flash 12v light. Who would have thought Twizel had such a prominant viewpoint.
It is also interesting to see the effect the recent flooding had had on the river in the area of wpts 8&9. The swimming hole is quite dangerous at the moment, although it will be better in summer flows when people actualy want to swim in it.
Thanks for the ride about,
S.t.

This was a beautiful walk with great views with onto snow caped mountains, would not like to do it in Summer. Highly recommended to walk the whole way to enjoy. TFTC
Regards from Canada. My husband and I were vacationing in Southern New Zealand, and were able to GeoCash in both Twizel and Timeru. Great fun. This was the longest Geocache we have ever done.
We got a little confused by the "number on the pole", but managed to find it with the rest of the coordinates. Did leave you a message on your voicemail, but I guess you were away.
This was definetly fun.

Drove to points of closest approach (limited time budget) and completely ignored point E (had read previous logs). Did a bit of reverse engineering with the maths and sorted out what the values had to be. Really excellent facility this track - will do the whole thing next time I'm around with a bike.
Memo to BaldEd, "Please remember to take your reading glasses with you the next time you do a Kiwilegend Tour cache, for his stamped numbers are quite small and difficult to read." I enjoyed the ride, although Mrs BaldEd abandoned the tour just after WPT1 as she was not happy negotiating the rocky forest MTB track and didn't want to possibly having to ride the remaining 7kms over similar terrain. Of course both she and I were not to know that from midway between WPT2 and WPT3 the riding was going to be all on relatively flat terrain. WPT5 was tricky and caused me a little problem that wasn't resolved until after I reached WPT9 and was then able to discard 2 of the values. However the formula for the calculation of S seems to be wrong and I resorted to making an educated guess as to the probable value for this. I note now that others have had trouble here also. The tour took just under 1 hour. Thanks Kiwilegend.
Took us 2 and a quarter hours to complete this multi on foot. Very hot day! Confused by what number to use at Stage 5 as there were several - wrote them all down and figured out the correct one to use at the end when doing final calculations.
this was agreat cache to do. had a lot of fun with bitsprayer finding all the waypoints.
Thanks Froogal
Thanks Froogal
This was great fun to do, wee drove some wee walked some, and wee ran some, a few error's a long the way but it was soon all sorted and the log signed.
Many Thanks Bitsprayer

Due to a change of plans for the day, we found ourselves with an extra couple of hours in Twizel, so decided to try for this cache. Now with PB's not being able to walk 9kms and Annie's objection to the temperatures in this part of the world, walking was not an option. So with about 2 and a bit ks of walking total, broken into little bits, we did visit each waypoint and collect the required information. We were pre-warned about one possible error we could make by the NZ clan, so took that into account, did our sums and came up with a likely looking GZ. Along we zoomed and there it was indeed!
This would be a very enjoyable walk if one was able to do it, and we may some day hopefully be able to cycle it, so thanks for showing us the possiblities of this little town!
And thanks for the time and thought that went into creating this cache. TNLN

This was our best search yet. We loved it and urge others to get out and give it a whirl. Don't be put off by all the clues - it works. We stopped and enjoyed our picnic lunch at stage 8.
Some very clever clues and we really appreciate the imagination and the time spent setting this challenge up. We came unstuck with the math and had to send an SOS text. Thanks, KiwiLegend" for advising which stage to check. We returned on the 22/11/08 to finish it off and of course went straight to the cache!

What an awesome cache this was to do!!
The S and E families set off on foot round Twizel on another lovely spring day. The swimming hole looked very enticing towards the end. After some hiccups with the numbers (read one number upsidedown!) we had the cache in hand. TFTC
+ Metal puzzle,bouncey ball

A great afternoon to be on the bike for a slow meander around the township - got all the point and after a bit of head scratching came up with the goods. Stage X was a bit of a deviation from the norm Swapped TB's. Thanks.
Felt obliged to go and get the FTF here. I walk this track several times a week with my dog. So went off in the rain and found it.
Have emailed you a couple of comments on the waypoints.
