Back in the area for a bushwalk (...or was that a mudwalk?) and obviously no cache to be found.
And I don't think you should be able to log a piece of paper!
Unless i'm mistaken, flyjabiru1 is no longer active.
Looking at their stats: Last Visit:Wednesday, 13 June 2012 and no response to messages.

johncenalk and I were nearby so checked out this location, we however didn't have any luck finding this cache, and we didn't read the logs prior to going *lol*. Obviously, if we had of...we would of realised that there was a problem with this cache. Anyway, that aside, I actually really enjoyed visiting this location, great quarry...loved the blue lake... so it was a bitter sweet journey...more sweet than bitter ;P
Considering recent logs that this cache may have been muggled once or twice, I wonder if flyjabiru1 should pay a visit to renew the cache and maybe coordinates. I have found this cache some time back and didn't log it because I forgot. I thought I'd return then log and it wasn't there. Also because I went back to take my Geokids to see the 4WD playground and try out the old Corona. Yes the Corona, don't laugh! I'll put up a photo when the cache is replaced/repaired. I'll watch with interest.
Cache needs maintenance. Found remains 80m away in mud wash. Have log. Will contact owner shortly.
After giving up on this one on the way back down the hill found the log in a wash away.
1420. No sign of it until I decided to investigate some pieces of paper down the slope. Alas they are 2 pages from the log the earliest entry being 9/5/10 by 3up and the latest being 25/9/11 by One-eyed. I surmise that the cache was placed where a new track up the hill was formed, the other one being too gouged (see photo where A+ is climbing up the new track with old one off camera to left). At some point, driving on the new track disturbed the cache and it was trashed. I would like to be wrong but ...

Found this one on a 4WD trip through Creswick. Most people found this one by following the 'roadworks' however the roadworks were behind us most of the time and iampom had trouble seeing the roadworks also. Apologies now iamapom but this was gold!
"Turning right at the roadworks", "A couple of bikes just passed the roadworks", "Watch out for the roadworks" "But I haven't seen any roadworks" Ohhhh we were evil with this one!!! A car load of devilishly minded cachers, a stray road sign and some duct tape collected earlier in the day, an unsuspecting Pom in a landrover, and fun comments over the radios!!!! It kept us in stitches as we made our way to this cache. (Still giggling even now!!) See g_ordos photo for the evidence.
Pretty spectacular outlook here, and looks like the 4x4's and dirt bikes have lots of fun!!! Then again, so did we!!! TFTC

Found today as part of the CVG 4x4 Creswick Park Adventure.

And yes, despite being in a 4WD group, we were almost run over by a large group of trail bike riders....
And the roadworks on the way in, Killer!!!!

I approached this cache from the south-east after an exciting afternoon caching in the forest. I drove out of the forest at the top of the hill looking down into the quarry! and right next to the cache! WOW 4X4 HEAVEN!! Thumpa the 4x4geohunting geomobile had a ball exploring all the tracks and challenges. I will definately be back here!
After parking the car, We had a walk through the bush up to GZ. The cache was quickly located and signed. We took in the view of quarry and came to the conclusion that it would be great fun in a 4WD or on a bike.
Thanks flyjabiru1

This cache formed one of the many caches I grabbed on my overnight trip to Ballarat with Camping in a swag at creswick and a 1 of 3 flash mobs attended in 24 hours.
I really enjoyed my drive into this area. I took most the fun tracks in and different track out and it was good fun all around. I think I might be coming back here for a play. TFTC

Went as far as we could along the track and then a short walk to gz. Thanks flyjabiru1
great area for the bikes, took the 4b in but it was way to rutted out from the heavy rains cheers
Strolled over from Abrahams Crack. Pleasant temperature for the walk. Quickly found and logged. TFTC
Now this cache site was really interesting , I left my 4WD some 400m from the cache site, very rough track, even the Nissan Patrol would not get up the track, but what a great site.
We are now amateur mountain climbers as Mrs one- eyed and I may have taken a wrong track, but found the cache anyway.

In 2010 i had one week of holidays in January, which ended up turning into two weeks of holidays because i snapped my front L.H axle shaft in my HJ80 series 'sigh' .....
It was a ball of fun crawling the ol batteltruck up and down these climbs until reverse gear and the hill climb right near the cache got the better of me,,, lolz
Ill stick some pics (and vids if this site lets me post em) up with this post when i get home after these holidays.
Visited T.B "roboraptor" while i was here.

Mountain biked into this one, the hill looks like a good challenge, but not in our cruiser with all the kayaks and gear loaded. May be another time. TFTC.
Very quick find for myself, got a good view over the quarry, which must be popular with the off road bikers. Saw a few at the top of the hill on my way to this cache.

Found by Roma and Max.
We opted to make the lower approach and leg it into GZ.

I had a walk of about 400 metres to get to this cache as there was a downed tree blocking the obvious access track. While walking in I saw a small cluster of a variety of helmet orchids - beautiful.
Thanks for the cache flyjabiru1.

And this one under a kilometre in the other direction. Bit of a pity Andrew had other things to do so consequently I only picked up 3 caches for the weekend. Pathetic really after about 250 km to get here. Anyway, no doubt we'll be back.
Quick find today after the short stroll from the car.
With the overnight rain adding to the glue quality of the clay,
I felt I was walking a little taller by the time I returned to the car.
Not such a bad thing for a short bloke.
My thanks to FlyJabiru1 for placing this cache, and for the history.

Oregon was telling me to take another route in, which may have got me closer by car, but I thought I knew better. Arrived in the Quarry and decided to walk the last few hundred metres. The descent down wasn't much fun after the recent rain. Think I must be getting old!!!! TNLNSL. Many Thanks to flyjabiru for another of your caches.

Angie will not forget this cache in a hurry. Most enjoyable. I am logging this in a cafe with the laptop and when I get a chance, I will upload the photo of the 4bee near the top of the climb. That clay sure is slippery. TNLNSL Thanks to flyjabiru1 for the most memorable cache.

tackle_head is really enjoying these forest caches and the cruiser just keeps on rolling and is very sure footed but he chickened out of this one and I'm glad he did. This is a great location for a cache and really enjoyed it, see what caching can show you. Thanks again to flyabiru1 for these caches.
Found while on a caching day with Bushfire , it was a drive by for us but was not going to try the hill as the ruts were deep -thanks flyjabiru1
A lovely area to explore. Unfortunately with no 4X4 couldn't complete the challenge and didn't head to George's Lake.
Had a nice time anyway.

Found today on a wet and cold day. We parked our car 300 meters away, and had to walk our way through sludge left after the rain earlier. Also there were muggles on bikes which seemed to follow us, so we needed a bit of stealth. Once at GZ, a short search resulted the cache in hand.

Having plodded these parts for some time I'd never visited the Quarry before. It's a quirky place with its erosion, colours and weird landscape. I can imagine the colours of the soil here after rain, they'd be brilliant in a sense and a Photographer's delight. The cache was found after a scramble up the side of the Quarry, I wasn't game to slide back down again. I tried to meet the photographic 'challenge' at St.George's Lake but the timer on the Camera was much too unforgiving - 10 seconds [on the timer] is just not enough and I'm 30 years too late with the suppleness of my body I reckon! Thanks to 'flyjabiru' for my second cache during my Creswick Innings in an unusal location surronded amidst the Forest. TNLCC. TQP

After seeing the pics on the cache pages for the challenges I thought, "Hell yeah, I'll give that a go", but after getting there I thought twice and decided to give it a miss, after all, there are more caches that need finding and I don't want to be stranded out here over Christmas if something breaks.
Couldn't find the wussier challenge option, I think it may no longer exist.

Found entrance to the quarry after doing a big "blockie" after missing the turnoff and assuming that i'd get there fine. Got pretty close in mum's little mazda, and found the cache no problem at all, after a big of a walk and climb.
Something of note was a black commodore pulling up besides where i parked just after i entered, but departing shortly after. Hmm...

Found by Mary & David at 0950. Having attended the Eureka Uprising Event last weekend, we thought we'd better make a start on the prizewinner. Another sunny day and off we set for a day's caching. Not quite a drive-by for us, but close enough. Fascinated by the landscape and the colours. The pink reminded us also of the Heathcote pink cliffs. TNLN, but dropped off WDD 2007 Commemorative Geocoin. Our thanks to flyjabiru1.
Again I was glad that this was a trad as a multi would have been a disaster! Hence also no photos although that would also have been hard. I managed to find a nice way to drive to within about 150m and enjoyed the stroll, and the neatly hidden cache. The last in the series for me too!
Found at 2.20pm GAFF1. When we approached GZ it sounded like the quarry was being worked, but it turned out to be the army using it as a training coarse for 4wding. They were going really slow too. Thanks flyjabiru1.
Our 4th cache of the day and we drove to within 20 metres of gz. The cache was located after a brief search. This quarry looks like a lot of fun but unfortunately Diane's back is very sore today so we will return another day to take the picture and have fun
Thanks flyjabaru1 for the cache and for showing us this fun looking area
Thanks flyjabaru1 for the cache and for showing us this fun looking area
As with The Morris this location reminded me of the pink cliffs also, I'm not sure whether it was just the time of the evening or the minerals in the dirt but I saw some brilliant shades of purple within the soft white dirt. The cache was found after a quick scramble.

Found at 1000. Wow. What a place this is, especially for the off road types. This is like the ultimate playground for them. Unfortunately I drive a 2WD so I couldn't give it a test run. This is one we wish we had left until late in the day as we were all covered in the talcum fine dust and the car is full of dust. An eerie landscape similar to the pink cliffs in Heathcote. We couldn't complete the Lake challenge although we ahd intended - not a park to had. Exchanges made. TFTC in an interesting spot.
Found with Oenze this morning. We were in Ballarat in search of the new treasure caches and this one was one of the essential caches for this series. We drove in with a walk of just under 200m. The ground was very powdery but this early meant that only a faint hum of trail bikes in the distance which may later turn this place into a vastly noisier place. TNLN thanks.

Found it today the 21st, but got the date wrong in the log and wrote is as the 20th?? Had a bit of a brain fade on what day it was. No way I'm driving the Hilux up that one, chalky clay was too loose and dusty and a couple of big holes that would have stopped my progress.
