Thought this would be an easy find, pretty quiet no muggles but was unable to locate it.
Pulled up at GZ. Geokid jumped out and located the cache quickly, luckily she's tall. Nice drive by cache.

With the promise of a rain free day we took the opportunity to visit this area of the State for which our map shows a plethora of unopened treasure boxes.
FEEDBACK TO CO: This cache shows up as "Needs Maintenance". It seemed OK to us. Perhaps an "Owner Maintenance" log to clear the attribute!
TNLN . . SL . . Thanks for the hunt flyjabiru1.

Last day of the holiday before we head home. The first cache found for the day. Sneaky but quickly found. TFTC
First cache of the day on our last day in Ballarat. Quickly found with no muggles in sight. TFTC.
Another visit to Ballarat with Dutch Frangipani to complete the BSRT series. A freezing cold morning after leaving a beautiful morning at home. We walked some of these and biked some. My first real effort on a bike and gladly no falls but lots of laughs and good conversation all day. That is what I enjoy about caching, the people, the places and the joy of "found it".
A quick find as the playground was empty.
Thanks for the cache flyjabiru1

This was the second attempt in Ballarat with Sorceysal. It was late in the day and getting cold again. This was a quick find and no muggles to worry about. Thanks for the cache flyjabiru1.
Really enjoyed my tour around Ballarat - one cache at a time!
Spent quite a while searching before I located this one. SL TFTC

GZ was spot on. Some muggle kids came to play but we don't think they were onto us. Caching with Dpkcacher tonight.
Find #16 of 20 on our "Ballaratel" all day adventure with geoparents and kizalee. Had to do a drive by earlier today muggle activity in the playground. Nice and quiet for our second attempt. TFTC.
While in Ballarat went on a night caching trip. A quick find when you look in the right place. TFTC
Found on a night caching trip with LionJRB. Sneaky spot to hide the cache. TFTC flyjabiru1

Was searching for this cache at about 7 o'clock, so it was rather dark. Looked in all the wrong places before eventually finding the clever hide. TFTC. Last of the day.
Found while taking jk gamblers out for a days caching testing the new magellan we won at oz mega. TFTC
Found on our Ballarat Smackdown weekend with DazRascal, Blacklegend, Trailrunning and Quasar3671!
The 7 Geokids we had with us for the weekend sure love a playground cache. They had a good play whilst we located the cache before the rain came down. Many thanks for bringing us here. TNLN SL. Cheers.

One of 184 cache finds during our "Ballarat Smackdown" weekend of caching on the 23rd to 25th. There were 13 of us including Blacklegend and three of his kids, Trailrunning, Haveanez and their two boys, Dazrascal and myself amd my two boys Tyler and Cooper. We'd spent a few weeks planning the trip, with every Ballarat Puzzle solved in the area, cache lists and road and route maps all ready to go. We stayed in the Miners Retreat Motel for the two nights and the accomodation and facilities were great. Our goal was simple - find as many caches as possible in the time we were here !
We found a great variety of caches and hides during the three days, which also involved a bit of walking and some 4WD fun as well in the state forests north of Ballarat. The weather was quite cold of the Friday and Saturday morning but eventually cleared to nice sunny weather Saturday arvo and Sunday. We all had a great time, especially the kids who did really well to keep up with the pace we were moving.
Our second day of caching and it was to be our biggest day and fullest day too. The little kids had a play while the big kids found the cache. Thanks for the hide.

Dunno why, but thought I had found this one 18 months earlier but somehow didn't log it, but maybe I didn't find it, certainly did stop here tho.
Not a big fan of park hides but seeing we could a fit in with the amount of kids running round we made the find unnoticed.
TFTC Cheers.

One of 182 caches I personally found during our "Ballarat Smackdown" trip. The trip included teams Quasar3671, Trailrunning, Haveanez, Dazrascal and myself. Caches included around 30 mystery caches, a few earth caches, lots of trads and multis and both day and night caching. Some 4WD action was encountered as well, which was great. All puzzles within 60kms were solved.
I took three of my kids, Jasmine 7yo, James and Jemma 5yo twins, traveling from Tocumwal. The trip covered 3 days and two nights, staying in Ballarat. Quasar3671 took his two boys as did Haveanez. One of the best caching trips I have been on, and certainly lots and lots of finds, almost clearing out the main Ballarat area. Home base was the Miners Retreat motel, which was quite pleasant and quiet.
This was a find on our massive Saturday run, which included both day and night caches. Lunch was a picnic in the bush at one or our cache stops. A night caching run was undertaken after a rest and dinner.
Awesome having 7 kids with us today, as playground hides work best when kids are around. They had a play and we made a find. TFTC.

After a successful Friday evening to start off the “Ballarat Cache Smackdown” with 34 finds on the first day the Saturday was always going to be a day of superhuman effort. It started early with a run heading west and south, only to finish the day and night with a run to the Northwest and North. A great day was had by all because there was some good 4WDing and the weather held out for the day with only one notable shower. A total of 98 caches were collected today, and it shows you how quickly a cache can be located with so many searchers. This cache was one of them. Kids had a play while the adults searched. Thanks for cache #48
Found early afternoon whilst passing through the area for work. Sat under the tree and returned some calls before going off to find the cache. Was a little surprised it sent me to the piece of equipment I thought it wouldn't be in. Clever little hide. Park deserted again today. Not a soul in sight. tftc.
Our 1st find for the day with Kinkell1. No muggles in sight so we were lucky. A nice easy find

Arrived mid morning prior to going to work later, not a soul to be seen so made for and easy find and log, not having to contend with muggles. Thanks for the hide.
Had been here some time ago but always found kids playing, more luck today.TFTC
Suscoe arrived at the location and hope for no kids.
Wish came true.
A quick walk to GZ and looked once to see the little fellow.
Logged and returned very quickly.

Quickly found due to spot-on co-ords here.
The bases of the structures are covered in rust, something you'd expect to see near the beach,
But of course, kids don't care about that!
My thanks to flyjabiru1 for bringing me here, SL

New to the official world of caching but have been involved since 17th of April 2009 (my first cache find). But have only just gotten a log name. Time to log all the wonderful caches that I have been finding since I have been caching with The Empire. My name in the log book is H.
Good day of caching in Ballarat with The Empire.

Found on a wet and rainy afternoon. We have been back to the site many times before, although everytime there had been muggles on the playground. Today although we were lucky to make the find with nobody in sight. This one nearly finish's of caches in Ballarat for us.

After getting twenty six smiley faces in Ballarat last weekend and attending the very successful event it was back again to first of all to pass the 1000 mark and add another forty odd caches to the list.
The playground was deserted this morning as we were there at 10.00 and all the equipment was still wet. A quick find but we had to dodge a nosey muggle from across the road who was keeping an eagle eye on two guys in a playground.
