This is one ndefinately needs owner maintenance as there has been a lot of deforestation in the GZ area and it is a long time since anyone found it. We are sure we had the correct area but there was certainly no cache anywhere.
It looks like a nuclear bomb has been detonated at gz! I was expecting a pleasant hike through the forest. Still a great place for a cache to show the effects if deforestation. But needs replacement cache.
We agree with the last person who logged in, we think this one should be checked out as we could not find a cache and there has been a lot of deforestation up there. We are sure we had the right area. Tupper...where is certainly right.

We have the right location of the final WP however were not able to find the cache. I suspect it has been damaged with recent deforestation in the area.
I may have my calculations wrong, but the area where I think the cache should be is all black and burnt. May be worth checking out. Thanks for the hide anyway.
Second try to find this one. My GPS was being naughty the first time and the ground was quite wet and muddy. Thank goodness that today the ground was firm even though there were many tyre ruts around.
GPS was still being naughty and I was about to go. But one more try in the general direction of the arrow and ........ a lovely container was just awaiting discovery.

After going back and starting again, I finally have done this one. I misunderstoof when I said there was no sign at WP1. There is no sign at WP1 though you can see a sign in the distance.
Once that was spotted the rest was pretty straight forward.
Great little place at the final WP. Although tempted to take the $10 I left it there for the next geocacher.

Found at 11:55am with Harrowang. Nice little spot in the bush, a pleasure to find. The Geoforester thinks the blue gums wont be far away from being harvested so keep an eye out! Took: Olive lifter, Left Japanese Doll. Easier way to get an olive lifter than attending a party and avoiding buying $100 worth of tupperware...when you already have a cupboard full! Neat idea for a cache though, Thank you.
Oh Look! a Tupperware container in the bush and we found it with our GPS - must be a geocache! Took: teaspoon - a good thing to add to the picnic set. Left: $10 note to buy some more doodads. Found with Markndee at 12noon. TFTC highrod.
Found WP1 did the maths "7Km away, are you sure?" Checked through the logs and found that WP1 is a fair way away from GZ. Drove around 20K's and found some caches on the way, then we got near GZ. Took a tour around 2 housing estates and found out that it was a street behind where we were. Easy find due to no cover. The container is drenched and so is the log and swaps. Picked out a comb. Everything else was a scoop or something we had no idea what it was [:o)] TFTC SL
Good effort, there's alot of hides in the bush around Ballarat that are way smaller than they need to be, and hard to find for no reason. This is a cool little spot to come across, but it's a bit scary leaving your car by the dirt road with noone around to keep an eye on it.
At first I was confused because I saw only one pink sign with digits on it. When I drove by there another day I accidentally noticed the real sign. But as the cache was too far from GZ I couldn't get it .
Thought we would do this multi as it looked like a simple one to kick off our afternoon. After coming to the round about we pulled over to find the sign - hmmm, simple enough, then off we went to the other side of town and found our way (eventually). When we got pretty close we pulled over, jumped out, sloshed through mud and made the easy find - wasn't covered up at all. TNLN and covered it better.
Thanks for the cache.
Thanks for the cache.
9th find of the day, and 2510th total find at 16:28.
Interesting! We didn't expect a 10 km drive once we worked out where GZ was supposed to be. Luckily we drive a geo-fourby, as the tracks to GZ seemed to be very rutted and waterlogged after the recent rains.
Our GPS led us to the exact spot so for once we can't complain about mathematical errors leading us miles out of our way.
Whilst the cache was a little damp, the contents are undamaged (they're all plastic doodads), the log book is dry and contained within a sealed plastic bag. IMHO the 'Needs Maintenance' attribute may be removed.
Took: Nothing
Left: Screwdriver
Dropped Aust Flag Coin

GPS took wasnt keen on the shortest route to this cache thats for sure
Co-ords were way out yesterday so recalculated & were still a long way out..........
Picked Geosons brains for the general area, put GPS in pocket & figured if I wander around long enough I was sure to find it...............

Easy find once at GZ, managed to get geomobile (2wd) right up tothe closest point of the track to the cache with no problem and it was only a short walk from there.
Good footwear is recommended.
TFTC, I have no idea what half of the items are or their intended use so I took a small green disk container as I think it will fit one of my geocoins perfectly.
(Cache is wet but logbook is okay)

Thanks for bringing us out to this cool piece of bush. Was a fun easy find. Didn't take anything but was the first name in the new logbook!
Cache is very wet, but now has a new log book.
I have placed it upright, on higher ground hopefully that will help.
I will have to call my Tupperware lady and ask for a waterproof container!!

attempted this one with poole party.. We found the dam so I gather we were in the right are.. However luck was not on our side.. abandoned the attempt for a try another day.
Needs drying out in the sun for a while. The book is soaked and cannot be written on.
Thanks

Great cache for the novices. No muggles to be seen. Will post a maintenance as I couldn't even write in the pad as it was that wet. We didn't have time to dry it all out but I think it just needs some time in the sun.

Wasn't sure if we were on the right roads to get to this one.
Bf was a tad upset that the shiny car now was all dusty!
Found without too much trouble in a 2WD, lucky it wasn't wet, it may have been a different story.
Thanks sandar10 for the cache.

Geo-teen was in Ballarat for a tennis tournament so I came up to watch. The starting point for this cache was nearby so we easily obtained the first clue. Daughter was excited by the prospect of a cache full of goodies so we meandered around following the arrow and eventually found this great cache. TFTC Took "cool" teal green scoop - because of the colour!! Still very full although slightly damp.

What a blast from the past! The ladies were amused by the contents of the container.
It was interesting to note the change in plantations, from pine to eucalypts in recent times

We only drove part of the way, and walked a little way, as we spotted some deep holes in the track. Even our Camry (yes, they are nearly as good as 4wds - if you squint) couldn't cope with that. There was so much tupperware in that bucket - reached down deep in there to find something exotic and pulled my hand out with one item attached firmly to my finger! I think it was a toothbrush cover - it definitely wanted to come home with me but I already had one of those. This was a fun cache, thanks.
we got to 10m and thought 'dam'! but it turned out to be a bit easier. we all came here with the spouses...it was hilarious to hear the squabbling obver what did what while we signed the log...thanks for this
Found today in the company of and with the help of, the owner. Thanks Sandra, and Tilley thanks you for her spoon!
This was an easier find than I thought. Nice thing about geocaching is that it takes you to places you otherwise would not go to. TFTC. Took some odd green thing whose purpose is unknown to me. Left trinket.
Worked out the co-ord a while ago, and was nearby for another cache. Got lost on the drive in and out through the maze of logging roads. All good fun though.
Lots of frogs going Bong Bong whilst I was here.
The cache was uncovered, though it still blended in. I put a few sticks and stuff over it. It's not completely covered, but more disguised than before.
Thanks for the cache.
Dropped in a coin.

(A-4) is HOW MANY????? Bad Bristlehound!! Wrong!! Off to remedial maths with you!!
And so ended the sad saga of Sunday's attempt at this one.
Luckily, having discovered my erroneous miscalculation, a return visit today took me directly to the cache. Never knew Tupperware made so many unidentifiable small odds and ends. Took a small green thing, the intended purpose of which has not yet made itself clear to me, but it will come in handy for carrying herbs bushwalking. Also took the T.B. After heavy rain over the last few days, there was about a quarter of a cup of water in the bottom of the container. (At least, I think it was a quarter cup. There was no measurer in the cache.) I dried it out and, hopefully, replaced it so as to minimise any further aqueous incursion. Many thanks for an enjoyable and educational cache.

Sixth of eighteen cache finds for the day, the cache was found at 10:45. I had started this one last time I was up here, but was caching north of the city center so it had to wait untill now, did you know that small dam was here or did you stumble across it looking for a hiding spot? Thanks sandar10 for the cache.

Can't believe we found this one!
We did the first half of this one this morning but realized that as it was so far away we were going to give up on it till another day. However when we were doing a cache nearby (micro in the bush) we noticed that we were close to the GZ for this one, so we decided to walk to it from the micro & came up with the cache!
We have no idea how you managed to drive the camry to this one, about the only way we were going to drive to this one was with a submersible.
Took 1 piece of tupper, left nothing TFTCSL
Find #341 for Echo & Spice.

Took the small pill box.
Thanks!!

We found the required information yesterday but didn't have a chance to look for the cache until today. We may not have found the easiest way in but it was certainly a lot of fun. Once near gz we simply followed the GPSr to gz for a nice easy find. at 9.15
We took a pickled onion stabber

Got the required on Friday but had a DNF on Saturday. A hint at the event had me back there but still no find! A complete search based on the hint finally had the blighter, but it wasn't until I got home that I realised that I couldn't count! Thanks for the cache!
Found at 3.30pm GAFF1. We were in a bit of a quandary at WPT1 - which sign? And then we spotted it! GZ was a good drive into the bush and we did about 5 caches along the way. Thanks sandar10 - we took a measuring spoon.
Found on a dizzly Ballarat morning. Grabbed the first part of this cache a while ago, but forgot to do the rest as work interupted caching yet again!!!.
The cache was found quickly on the way out to do a couple of others. Great container and swaps, but we didn't have anything with us to swap today.
Took: Nothing

I must confess to riding the jet ski on this one, but I won't reveal anymore so as not to ruin the cache for others. As mentioned in an earlier note this cache was on my must-do list so I could pick up a free Tupperware item for Amy. I was secretly hoping the same lunch container I lost at work might be in there so I could get myself back in Amy's good books, but alas I had to settle for a biscuit cutter. Or is it an egg ring? Either way it's blue and circular and will distract her from the other sort of rings the family keep asking about.
Thanks!

Found with chewinprickles and Robmc.
This was our last find for the day - 43 in all. It was getting dark and very overcast (heaps of lightning and thunder all around). Good time to stop and head back to town for some dinner before heading back to MLB. TFTC

Started this one early in the day and it became the last find to end the day before we went and had a late dinner. The rain came on a bit heavy after this too so it was a good time to stop.
Many thanks

Should have guessed the first part, too slow!
We completed this cache later on in the day after a short walk from a new suburb.
Thanks, Robmc.

Found today, a nice easy find. TNLN TFTC.
Shame about the amount of rubbish dumped (looks as though someone doing renovations dumped a heap of crap) in the area, will contact the council this week and see if they can be bothered cleaning it up.
Cheers,
Steve.

I work around the corner from the first WP so i knew what the sigh was and we went straight to the final location. Lots of stuff there and we swapped something for an orange peeler apparently (looks nothing like the one i use!)

Even though it was a long way from coords to cache we prepared this one earlier which meant it bided its time until we were in the area later. Well stocked with items I could only guess at, though Oenze impressed with his knowledge. He must do the cooking I figure. Thanks Sandar10 for an enjoyable cache.
Find # 2225 and 13th of the day at 1:02pm Accompanied by Feathertop on a treasure challenge in and around Ballarat. GZ was quite a distance from Wpt 1 which we got earlyer in the day, so we had to wait till the afternoon to claim our find. TNLN, Signed Log, Thanx Sandar10....
5th of 5 for the afternoon.
The cache was in plain sight as I approached, so I have rehidden it appropriately now.
Its amazing how many doo-dads we use, then seem to store in our draws which makes them hard to close!!! This is a well stocked cache, thanks!!
TNLNSL. Find 359. 3.00pm.

Found by Mary & David at 1915. Is there a house in Australia that doesn't have some? GeoJo bought some on ebay then saw Mary's collection of 'historic' orange, yellow and green canisters. Might have to leave them in the will. Tremendous fun. Took salt and pepper shaker. They seem to be a caching favourite. Our thanks yet again to sandar10.
Found after visiting WP1, earlier today. Lots of stuff in this cache.

Our 3rd find for the day.
Deano knew what should be WP1, so we "Jetskied" this one and plugged in the numbers.
Since we were in the closer to GZ than were to WP1, we headed to GZ, with our gamble paying off.
Signed log and we were on our way to get out of the cold.
Thanks Sandar10

Found it this time.
The first time we got to the GZ and realised we left the hand held GPS at home.... Goose!
When we got there this morning it was very overcast and the GPS was showing that the accuracy was only within 42 meters, but we found it anyway.
Signed the log.
T: Tiny bowl with lid (that because we couldn't work out what the most of the things where)

Well I waited for about 6 hrs itching to find allowing others a chance to FTF but alas Ballarat is sleeping today. Cheers sandar10 for a super manly cache theme and a nice secluded GZ except for the wopping big Blowfly that tried to carry me away. TFTF took nothing because our house is the house of tupperware. At least our house now is guaranteed for life Ha Ha.
