Goes to show, i need to look at the logs before heading out. Path was nice and dry but unfortunately no cache to be found.
Had a look for this one after a period of rain. Couldnt find it, spotted a possible cache out in the middle of the creek. One to check on.
I was not having a good day but decided do one more on the way home. A nice walk down to GZ but another (4th for the day out of 6) DNF to finish my day.
Thanks.
Thanks.
Me and my friend Jaden looked up geocaching while we were in school and discovered that there was one behind the school. After school we went down the track but couldn't find it. The wooden bridge has been damaged but can still be used
Having actually taught skipping for many years, the name of this cache hooked me in - but I'm guessing this was more to do with wagging school! We parked just before the bridge and walked along the creek through a lot of mud. But once we got to GZ we looked and looked but had no luck. The area looks as though it has been flooded not so long ago - so maybe the cache has floated away.
Reperio at 1130. Happened to be in the area today so stopped by to grab this one. Found the main track access point, but initially headed down the wrong branch. Returned back the way I came a short distance and was on the right track to GZ, where the cache was found nicely tucked away.

After a pleasent walk to GZ, geowife (teambooo) quickly found and pointed out the hidding spot, after a quick retreval the log was sign and returned. TNLN-SL TYFC
Nice short bushwalk, although the path is overgrown in a couple of places, but the area down near the water is really nice. No problems finding the cache, although it is a little damp. TFTC
Our youngest crew member found this one also - and repeatedly reminded us of his day's tally! Was a wet weekend and he particularly enjoyed splashing through some puddles on the track. Thanks!
Did this and your other one over the road thanks for the great caches

This cache I did enjoy, pretty little niche hidden away.. and the Bellbirds were putting on a sublime performance! This was a straightforward cache found with little difficulty ("Thank goodness!" I thought, after the previous Watannobbi ones ).

No go. Was very wet track and the kids where not keen at all but convinced them to push on. Searched around the scrub for 10 mins and give up.
Just catching up on some logs I havn't made online yet.
My notes tell me that this was a nice walk into the cache with some kids swimming and having a good time nearby.

After spending the day working near Lake Macquarie & then dropping of rubbish at the nearby tip, it seemed logical to find a few caches on the way home starting here. After parking the car, we soon found a track that led to the cache. Smurfyguy's eagle eye found the cache, Calypso62 took the pictures & I found a better & easier track back to the car - a Team effort. Nice quiet location even if near a somewhat busy road. TNLN TFTC

After visiting the tip at Buttonderry, Smurfyguy, Geotooter and I had a few caches on our radar to find and this was one of them. I parked near the bridge as there appeared to be a track into the bush. We followed this in and soon discovered the somewhat overgrown path mentioned in a previous log. We followed this and it led to GZ. I had forgotten my camera so decided to trek back to the car to get it. While returning, Geotooter met me and showed me a more accessible track back to GZ that followed the creek. Geotooter and Smurfyguy had already discovered the cache hide but had left it there for me to find. It didn't take long to find it although to Smurfyguy I think it was an eternity. Geotooter signed for all of us. We were soon on our way back to the car. There were lots of rustling noises in the undergrowth today from unknown creatures. This freaked me a bit as I had come across a rather large black snake a few days ago while caching. No such problem today. Thanks basscadetz for organising the hunt in quite a nice location.

Found this whilst out caching with TheWobblys who were playing with the new toy, a Magellan Explorist GC.
This was easy find after finding the track down to the cache.
The track is getting very overgrown in sections and the creek was flooded.
This is a nice little spot on the creek. Thanks for showing it to us Basscadetz

After a few snake experiences we were reluctant to head down this trail in summer but it turned out to be a really nice walk with a cache at the end as reward. After a day of rain and storms the sun broke through and we wished we had packed the fishing rods. TNLN, thanks for a really good cache.

Found 9:00am nice walk this morning, would be a nice spot to skip school and wet a line. TNLN thanks.
Kids realy wanted to do this one but would have been better if done yesterday as the kods were skipping school to come geocaching with me.
Found a box of matches in the cache and thought it was not a good idea so they were removed and thrown away as I have no need for them.
Team Casho’s Boy weekend of caching up north.
With the girls at home the boys decided to go a caching.
Armed with a list of lower end caches. No disrespect to the caches or their owners there were many wonderful caches, locations and things to see in our travels. We just set up a search for those with a terrain level of around 2 – 2 ½ for this trip to build up our numbers heading towards our 1000th find in our first year. As this was the case many of our logs would just read easy find so to expand on that we are including a run down on bits of our trip in all logs.
Trip
Wollongong – Raymond Terrace – Nelsons Bay and home via the Central Coast area.
Visiting relo’s while in the area (I know a major waist of caching time).
Found not only our 900th find but also out 950th, on our way to the big 1000.
Things we seen
Views, fireworks, kids jumping their bikes off the end of a wharf, a kangaroo, a koala, crabs by the hundreds, lizards, a crock, a turtle, kookaburra, aliens, ducks, dogs, boats, tankers, a weather station, the Coast Guard, police, ambulance and the fire brigade and that was just for starters.
Removed a box of matches from a cache in a bush area. Not such a good idea I thought.
Got bitten by mozzies, invaded by school kids while trying to return a cache, did some 4 wheel driving, got busted by muggles, introduced my muggle family to caching, collected some travellers, found some new and interesting hide styles and carried out maintenance on several caches while on the go. On the way home had to take the long way due to a fatal car accident on Picton Rd. Stopped to help a driver who got a puncher as a result of the accident. Seen his car fall off the jack while we were passing by, legs under the car (all ok there thankfully). Kids got paid for our assistance as I would not accept the money. This detour proved longer then it should have due to the 3 new caches in Appin last week.
Our thanks to the girls for allowing us to cache without then (not that they had any other choice) and the many cache owners who placed the caches we attended.
We look forward to catching up with fellow cacher’s at the Geocaching Association of NSW Nurragingy Christmas Party GC1ZCCX December 12 2009, were all going well this will be our 1000th find.
Looks like the Oz Wagga Wagga Mega Event (April 2-5, 2010) GC1Y5R has just hit the MEGA requirements and we can’t wait to be part of it.

Glad to have found this after missing it the other day. It's freaky how you can find something at night but not in daylight.....It's also weird how you can go in hard two different ways, and while getting lost finding the cache, you find to alternate 'clean' entry points.......hmmmm oh well this one is dead and buried now.....took nothing, left a box of antique (40 years) matches.

A beautifully peaceful spot by the river. I took a very pleasant stroll along the creek on an easy track.
On my way home to the Hunter decided to pick this one up, found the wrong way in, going through the bush, but found the right way out, I knew there had had to be an easier way in.

We enjoyed the walk cross country before coming across the track we were supposed to be on. Followed that to GZ and made the find immediately. After spotting the Cache I was a bit reluctant to withdraw it as it was a full arms length away. A quick flash of the torch showed all was OK and in I went. Top spot for a Cache and I recognised GZ from a Bass fishing trip I had done many years ago.

This was our second visit to look for this one. Looked all around GZ without success. As luck would have it we decided to leave when one of the cache owners arrived. They confirmed that the cache was not in its hiding spot, so I looked a bit further afield and located the container. I retrieved it, signed the log, and retuned it to its owner to be replaced in its original location.
