Don't find this one sadly, wondering if the flooding earlier in year have something to do with that.
Didn't find today put in new coordinates and found old stumpy but cache is not at the foot. 4 of us hunted and never found.
Searched gz and around 75m along the banks.
No luck, with all the debris and silt, may have been washed away.

Couldn't find this at the coordinates given. Not sure what it looks like normally, but there's a lot of sand and debris everywhere. It was last found in May. Has it been checked following all the flooding in June?
Couldn't find this one for the life of me at any of the various sets of co-ordinates. Bit confusing as to which one is the current GZ. To make matters worse there was a bit of a disgusting find at the entrance to the dirt road which I ended up having to call the council about which obviously isn't the CO's fault but all together not a great experience sadly.
Over this way grabbing a few caches on a sunny Sunday. Bit wet in parts here today but found my way to the track and after a short search had the cache in hand despite GPSr was telling me the cache was 30m away?
Had not seen the amended coords in the log so was using the old ones that downloaded onto the GPSr. Took the coords below which may be closer? Bear in mind was just a waypoint taken once - no averaging going on.
S 40 16.509'. E 175 31.262.
Thanks for the placement of this cache - TNLNSL.

Finally found this cache after going around in a lot of circles & getting scratched and cut by blackberries (I ended up with blood all over my legs). I decided to focus my search on the hint object and found it a little way off the coordinates. TFTC
Very overgrown with creepers, including a sticky one. Also blackberry and cutty grass. Once home we noticed it had been replaced and we were possibly not quite looking in the correct place.
Not a nice place to visit at the moment. Dumped rubbish and really muddy and wet. Plus dead cows or deer parts....yuk what a smell.
Cache all good tho. Left trackable and some swaps.

A very obvious hiding hole in a very obvious stump, but no sign of a cache. River was running high and had obviously been even higher.
Had the old coordinates on my gps, so looked in the wrong area for a while, luckily the recent logs had been updated, at the correct GZ it still took me ages and got cut up but cutty grass and blackberry! But got there eventually. Thanks for the cache and the hunt!
we took the dog for a swim, then went cache hunting, took us awhile to locate,as phone gps was playing up,or co ord might be out by 5 to 7 meters.still it was a nice day to go for a walk.tftc
Replaced in a dryer location further back from the bank so hopefully it won't get washed away.
New co-ordinate are S 40 16.513 E 175 31.264

Could not find it today can someone please check to see if its still there as it has not been found a months and we could not see it today at all.
Cache real obvious and empty except for log book. I put breast cancer awareness tb inside plus and couple more things so there are some things for swaps. I hope it won't be muggled though. Not that it's a popular spot tho - needed gumboots and 4WD today - river very high, but cache is fine.
"Oi, what are you doin' snoopin' around my car!?" are the words I didn't want to hear as I looked for this cache.
I parked just before the track got too much for the car (no 4WD) and headed to GZ on foot. A car had parked right beside GZ but no muggles about. Here's hoping they don't show up unannounced or I have some serious explaining to do! I found the cache (thanks to the very descriptive hint) and quickly scampered away before anyone questioned me. Wheww!

Easy find, but the track in is getting pretty muddy! Bring either your 4WD or some gumboots if you're attempting this one after some rain! TFTC
Couldn't drive right down due to a burnt out car. Nice day for cache finding. Thanks
Found with EnjayNZ.
Last time I attempted this, I was met with significant quantities of rubbish (instead of the cache...)
Today was only slightly different in that I was met by a burnt out car on the road leading down to the river. It took a bit of manoeuvring to get my car up on the edge of the banking to get past the wreck, and then the sizable mud puddle immediately afterward challenged my non-4WD station wagon, but we got there with a bit of sideways sliding
so pleased to finally be able to tick this one off, thanks BB (and BrotherBB!) for reinstating it

The cache is definitely there to be found. Located it tonight. Took a bit longer in the dark than i expected, Nice drive-by cache. TFTC.
Cache status needs to be changed.
Cache status needs to be changed.
First we parked on the wrong side of the bridge... Then there was a burnt-out car near GZ, and a car (fully functional) with two dodgy looking characters... Then I found the cache and went back over the bridge. TFTC
Noted that a replacement cache had been placed recently and decided to check this one out as we were in the area. Soon found cache and filled in the first entry in the new logbook. This cache is clearly in place and able to be found so I suggest that the status be updated to available. TFTC.
Unarchiving (exception).

New steel box fitted in old location and at head height.
No rubbish so Council are now keeping the river banks clean.

given the last couple of logs, I think a Maintenance Check would be beneficial...
Obviously this is not possible by the CO who lives in England (as evident by the comment in the description); Can any of the previous Finders please drop by to check it's presence based on their memories of its location?

I have asked my brother who lives in Palmy and has placed the replacement cache for mento check it is still there.
Thanks

after reading the previous logs, I made sure I wore long sleeves and took gloves.
Turned out that this was not necessary as it was obvious that the cuty grass has been cut^H^H^H hacked back and the area is now very open.
The cans, bottles, polystyrene and other general rubbish littering the area also makes me fear the worst... And what's with the washing machine parts?

didn't put much effort into this one. im sure it was a nice place once, but has recently been used as a rubbish dumping ground, and a toilet.

It is so annoying when someone found this with no trouble a few days ago and I can't get a glimpse of it.
A quick find following the well defined geotrail. A very nice morning but nobody making use pof the river today. TFTC
Well...alone...midnight...crap torch...river in flood so high i have to bush bash. Found the orginal location but only by reading old logs do i see its been move further from the river...which actually ends up being 10-15m bankwards. A rewarding find.
I am assembeling a new Cache Box which will be bigger and tethered to a tree just behind the current location so the floods will not wash it away.
There will also be a Gnome Traveller that is to make its way back to the UK.
New bigger cache so more larger geotravellers.

Sometimes I wonder about the waterproofness of these containers. Your log book needs replacing - it is saturated.
Well, this has to be the horriblist cache so far. I was a nice warm day, I cycled 60km doing todays caches, so I was wearing shorts and tee shirt. Does not go well with cutty grass. I got sliced all over, later the sweat got in and it stung, and on top if that, this cache needs maintenance - log book is saturated, could not write my entry.
But I got a lot of caches done today!
But I got a lot of caches done today!
Took me a couple of visits but found it in the end. Logbook is too wet to fill in sorry. No trackables in here today.
Have to say this was a bit of a vicious one. Lucky I had kiwi_flyer along to take most of the beating.
Found this one with Novalightning and we have the battle scars to prove it! Nice little stop.. thanks!
Found this one on the way back home. thanks for adding a few more cuts to my already battered body.
TFTC, managed to find it almost un-touched (only a couple of minor scratches on my hands). Was also approached by a local police-man due to my "suspicious parking"
Another place from my childhood, although Timona Park was much closer to where we lived. We thought we were just doing a recce to plan for a return trip, but ended up finding the cache easily. No high water, and no muggles. I took heed of the warnings about the grass and donned my trusty glove that lives in my geobag and thought I'd be smart and go around the GZ area instead of through, which paid off in the end - I emerged without a scratch. Wohoo!! A relatively easy find on a brisk but sunny day in Friendly Feilding.

#55 TFTC Got a pampus grass cut behind my ear despite the cache owners warnings
Found it. Was left in sight but have hidden well. No sign of Kiwi Jandles )-; TFTC!!!
Quick find thank goodness for the caching gumboots in the boot! TNLNSL no sign of TB!
Got here well after dark .. along with cold drizzle and u guessed it, no torch. Had a reasonable look but didn't find it. River was running high tooo ... next time maybe.
Hunted and hunted for this cache. I will be back for you, once my cuts and grazes heal.
Good thing I still had my wet weather gear on - it provided excellent protection to dive in and hunt the cache! Cheers Gav [9391]
NZ11. No one down here today so I could dig around in the scrub to find this one. Thanks.

Bit too cold and wet for a swim today. Replace the wet logbook with a temp replacement. TFTC
Thanks for the cache no log from us as the book is too wet, would have replaced but didn't have spare.
Dog enjoyed the swim. Logbook to wet to sign. Perhaps the next person here could replace the logbook?
The cache was easy to find ,water has entered the box,so dried box only the pen of the original contents remained other small items dried and replaced add one NZ penny and two halfpennies.Great place for picnic
Well hidden. Don't let the recent work clearing the banks deter you, the cache is still there. Toi-toi is my new most hated plant.
TFTC.
Needs new log book.

Nice little riverside spot although the plant life isn't the friendliest! Log book very damp and a bit mouldy.

DNF. Had a bit of a look but decided we wanted to get on the plane without being cut up by the grass. Stream was lovely.
10.32am. Not a nice place to hide a cache. That grass is the worst in the country.
Log book is soaked and just about unusable.

Found it reasonably quickly after initially driving straight past the turn off.

I had a lot of fun finding this one! Left a really nice bag in there for the next person...
Came out of the toi toi covered in seeds
Kids Swapped some stuff.
It was damp inside the container and the pen wouldn't work so we didn't log our visit.

Yipee .. 2nd attempt as first time didn't try as the litter around was disgusting. .. but a lot cleaner now. Still something dead but not near by. No scratches as aware of others comments so we were careful and found quickly. Took TB. TFTC
