Once correct coords were in we found it quickly! Cache was holding water but log was fine. Thanks for the fun, youngoldfella

My husband and i are Up from Brisvegas on a weekend away enjoying the sunshine and finding some caches along the way. This was my target cache for today and i did A LOT of homework in preparation. I was able to find a few answers before we came here. Today went to one waypoint today and then i have to yada yada yada here because we found the cache without any further waypoints. I was super happy and it just goes to show that homework is good for you . What a great day to be a geocacher. Thanks for all the fun. Giving this a FP for all the fun.

After an event in Cherbourg and a walk up Boat mountain, Im spending the day cherry picking caches as I gradually head back home. I made my way around town visiting all the areas and collecting information, I did have to use Google at one point but came up with some good looking final coords. Once there I checked a few spots before I made the find. Tftc youngoldfellaFind #5353

Out today finding some oldies to fill in some gaps in my jasmer. We were passing through and had noticed a non completed multi and so a detour was implemented and a calculation required to find this hide . All good here

TFTC youngoldfella your cache Parks with Plaques that we found today. Enroute to QOGM 2023 in Longreach. A rather circuitous route via Kingaroy, Morven and Charleville. Caching as we go. Tonight we stopped at Wooroolin. Needed to head into Kingaroy for a couple of things. Found some more caches in the area.

Milked out of Mm

20-May-23
The last visit here there was a bloke lying on a bench. He followed me back to the car

All clear today and located the cache fairly quickly with the hint. Thinking my numbers were out as I had 23m from GZ

Took over an hour to collect the info and there’s a bloke sleeping on a bench near GZ

29-Oct-22
Well that took longer than expected, going around and around, one number written wrongly. More conversation in the geo mobile, mmm back into town and then a quick find. Many thanks for this multi

Spending a day or two caching around Kingaroy after a few days 4x4ing on the Nanango country lanes and tracks.

Glad we took the time to sort out park locations before tackling this series of clues, Kingaroy is lucky to have so many.

Had to google answer for clue B, the park has seen some renewal and rejuvenation and we had no luck finding a plaque for this point, even the gardener had no idea

Found gz in a logical spot and in good nick.

Thanks to CO’s for taking time to set out and maintain hides and for showing us your very special part of the world

Log signed in first open spot with stamp

Heading to QOGM 2022 Charleville

13-Sep-22
Certainly worthy of a D3 rating, we did enjoy the look around town. Found whilst on a very non direct route to QOGM - Charleville 2022. On the hunting trail again with SeasonedBird (aka Mrs Geo, Salty Chook, the Old Boiler, Old Chook, Dirty Bird, Angry Bird & occasionally even Love Bird). It’s a great day for caching.

It was moving day today as we traveled the short distance from Nanango to Kingaroy. The road was too bust to collect caches on the way so we headed straight to the showgrounds where we set up camp. Then it was off to collect as many caches as we could. Puzzles, multis and traditionals on a warm overcast day.

Thank you for your efforts in creating and maintaining the cache youngoldfella.

Stopping in Kingaroy for a couple of days as we bimble around before we head back to Ipswich.
Constant drizzly rain, causing wet vegetation and soggy ground underfoot made for an interesting days caching. We must GeoAddicts to be out hunting for caches in this weather. [:o)]

We made everything difficult with this one today including the final but got there IN THE END. Red Face

It’s about time I began to head home after the Townsville mega, so I’ve ended up here. I saw a lot of parks today, doing multis! Thanks for the puzzles, the caches, the different to the usual finds youngoldfella.

Having a couple of nights in Nanango to clear up a few caches in the area which we didn't get last time. This one had us walking round in circle to find the needed information but got there in the end. TFTC youngoldfella Smile

It's our day 3 in Nanango and surroundings.

We took the time for solving a multi and two mysteries.

Lots of walking done.

Day 3 of our stay in Nanango. We like to refresh our memories and caching. We are looking for old and new caches,

and now we had here 2 mysteries and 1 multi left. We gave it a go.

Quite successfully! All 3 found!

This one was a criss-cross through Kingaroy, but we discovered couple of changes since our last visit.

Collecting the oldies in town. This took a bit of searching at GZ, but no-one was out this early in the morning. TFTC!

A plan was made to track down this cache but the trickiest step was the final! Found in the last place we looked TFTC

Nyssaflutterby, 1Minniemoo and I were on a road trip from north Brisbane to Munduberra and back via Kingaroy. We had a few planned caches and some extras along the way.

10/7/21 Find #4899
Day two of our weekend Road Trip had NyssaFlutterby, wombles and co, and I starting the morning in Mundubbera before heading to Auburn and then beginning our journey back down to reach Kingaroy for the night.
Having enjoyed our time in Auburn, and then Boat Mountain, we were now making our way back towards Murgon and down to Kingaroy for the night.
We had made it into town on fumes, so fuelled up then checked in to our accommodation before heading off for dinner at one of the local establishments. Once we were well fed, we decided to grab just a couple of nearby caches under cover of darkness, figuring at least it would be muggle free at this time of night.
With answers at hand it didn’t take long to locate the cache at the final location. Log signed it was time to get out of the cold and head back to our cozy home for the night.
Thanks for the cache youngoldfella.

It's been far too many months since The Bromance last went on a weekend geocaching road trip so plans were made a couple of weeks ago for a journey north towards Kingaroy and the surrounding area. Unfortunately Crookedpete was unable to make it due to family commitments so it was a Bromance Lite+ trip of JezNDez, Swellerfungus and Seffnjarah.

Today was Day 2 of the trip, and after an overnight stay in a dingy motel in Kingaroy, we were up bright and early to begin another day of caching adventures. A rather chilly morning so we headed off first to grab some coffee and breakfast and sat down to work out the various park locations while we ate. With that part done it was a matter of meandering around town to collect the various information. With two missing bits of information I did some calculations to see if we could save visiting a couple of other waypoints, but needed one more before I could identify a likely spot. Sure enough we found the cache safely tucked away in this secluded little spot. Signed the logbook with The Bromance team NAME. TFTC

Super calculations by the resident accountant saved us one waypoint! A quick visit to all the others and. Good looking coords led us to the cache. Great little spot.

We are on our way to Blackall QOGM, our 6th stop on our trip is Nanango.
This morning we decided not to move to Kingaroy but instead took a day trip from Nanango.
Our main target was the dinosaur trail & a few others around town.
Thankyou for placing this cache youngoldfella

This was a fun cache to do. Finding the parks and gathering the information was simple enough although finding some of the plaques was a bit tricky.

After having a set of coordinates that looked reasonable I headed off to make the find and it was not too long before the cache was in hand.

This is find #2130

16-Mar-19
A weekend away with Fangsoki and Pprime saw us head out of Brisbane in time to stop at Kingaroy for Breakfast.

While we were stopped in town it was a matter of finding a cache and the age of this one was a deciding factor. It was also good for stretching the legs before the larger hike we were to encounter later in the day. All information collected and a quick find in an interesting location.

03-Jan-19
Yesterday we visited all the parks except one and this morning before heading home caught up with it on our morning walk. Being in the middle of town, I don't know how we missed it, and even walked right past yesterday.

We checked out of our hotel with the intention of trying to find the cache before driving home. It was still early enough for the street to be quiet but the boys and girls next door were sorting stuff early. My phone kept putting me somewhere else and the clue had me doing some digging. That was when Mrs Woodyrothwell said, "what about that big obvious thing?". OK, so I was looking in the wrong spot.

The cache was found and it was nice to leave town on a positive. We both made a resolution to come back to Kingaroy and Nanango for a dedicated caching weekend. When I say we, I'm not sure how much of the dedication was made by Mrs Woodyrothwell, but there weren't any shops left for me to stand outside and wait at. tftc

27-Sep-18
Very trickier but found eventually the pen is still there

24-May-18
Bring a bit of a completist and after seeing YOF's post we came back here today determined to find this cache. I don't know how we missed it last week, I'm sure we looked there. Today it must have taken us 30 seconds of searching before we'd found this one.
Thanks for for the cache and for checking up on us youngoldfella

24-May-18
Went for another look prior to caching around kingaroy and found this cache with geo-gypsies in the first place we looked. Can't believe we couldn't find it last week, cache is what we were expecting. Tftc YOF!

18-May-18
In Kingaroy today and went to GZ and the cache is still there. Read the additional hint. Think corner rock and water distributor. Good luck

17-May-18
This was to be the last cache for the day as we'd gather the information that was required. I thought that I knew what I was looking for and searched as directed but came up empty handed. I even enlisted the help of two young ladies on their work break to help out. They have a friend who geocaches so were happy to help out. But still a DNF for me today.

17-May-18
Out and about hunting for caches with geo-gypsies and decided to find all the kingaroy multi caches as today's target. Despite finding the hidden park the cache eluded us. Never mind, we'll be back later to look again... thanks for the series YOF!

17-Feb-18
With all the leg work being done on on previous visits all that needed doing was a little search and the names could be put into the log book. Great hide here youngoldfella

17-Feb-18
Another multi just waiting to be found with info collected a long time ago...thankfully all quiet in Kingaroy this arvo and we had the area to ourselves. TFTC youngoldfella.

Out again on our bikes, riding about looking for caches. It's such a fun way to see areas within the town that ordinarily we wouldn't see.
I gotta say, we had fun riding around to various parks to gather all the information, and GZ was a surprise as we hadn't noticed this spot before.
Very clever hide, gets a favourite from us.

Mrs RoddyC out and about today. Well. That was one way to see the Parks of Kingaroy. Love the way some organisations have honoured its workers and volunteers.

Tftc First entry on the new log. Thanks for the tour of parks.

03-Jul-16
Went and checked re the wet log and more than likely a torn clip seal bag. Bag was torn and log book was wet but there was a a replacement log sheet, rite in the rain paper type, in a good clip seal bag in the container as well. Removed the wet log and torn bag and replaced in its hidey spot. All good to go.

06-Dec-15
This was the second day of caching in Nanango for Captain Terror and I. We had come up for Nanango's first event and this morning we were out caching with Bulldozer72. This was the eighth cache for the day for me. Luckily we had all of the legwork already done so the visit this morning would be quick and easy We made our way from a previous found cache and before too long were turning into a quiet spot. The cache was found though it was quite wet. We dried it out and were able to sign our names in the logbook. Thanks for the cache youngoldfella.

06-Dec-15
Out and about grabbing caches while spending the weekend in the area. Some of the crew in the car had already done most of the legwork so it was just a case of checking notes and heading to the GZ. Another quiet little section of the world which you would walk past every other day without noticing thanks to the CO.

Up in the Kingaroy and Nanango area for the Nanango Event. After the Event on the Saturday, spent 3 days chasing caches around the countryside and also in the towns. Seeing the different type of caches the CO's puts out in different locations that you would not do if you did not geocache. Thank you CO for bringing us to these spots. Thoroughly enjoyed doing this Cache. TFTC

06-Dec-15
Had an enjoyable weekend including attending Nanango's first Ever Event and searching for lots of caches. Saw wonderful scenery as well as wildlife on our travels through the back roads of the South Burnett. Thank you to all the COs who place the caches in these fascinating spots.

06-Dec-15
Out geocaching today after Nanango's First Event that was a real credit to the organizers. It was so well attended and enthused us all to get out and find caches in the district. So today JooJoo57 and Richmond Lad and myself decided to find caches around the Kingaroy area. This was one. Just loved the history lesson as we toured around finding our the info from the plaques we visited. A great way to see more of the town and learn more of its history. When we arrived at GZ we were surprized at the pleasant location that greeted us. Intimate and well kept and a real little magical spot. Thanks for all we've seen and done while doing this cache youngoldfella. A favourite point well deserved is awarded. Cheers! [^][^]

06-Dec-15
I went and checked the container and the log sheet. Log book damp but still OK to u se. I have left another clip seal bag with new log sheets inside the existing clip seal bag. Please make sure you replace the lid correctly and tight.

12-Oct-15
Out and about with one half of The Drovers from the South Burnett to Gympie areas for a couple of days caching. We found a variety of caches and containers along the way and plenty of different hides to keep us on our toes along the way and this was one of them.

Thanks to all the CO's for placing and maintaining the caches along the way.

Mr Drover joined up with Konie and headed off, for a 2 day caching & camping trip.
Drove from Caboolture to cache the hills, travelling 600 kms in a loop & back to Caboolture.
We found a variety of cache hides and containers, some a little tricky to find.
Thanks to the CO's for all the effort of placing and maintaining these caches, we had an awesome 2 days.

As it was a lovely day, we took a break from all the driving and enjoyed the walk to collect all the information.
Cache was located after a short search, and in good condition.
Many thanks for placing this cache, youngoldfella, for us and others to find.

Tried to find this one today but we have stuffed up somewhere.
Think we may have taken information from the wrong plaque at one of the parks.
Will check and try again the next time we are visiting Kingaroy.

[font=Comic Sans MS]Hi there youngoldfella. We found your cache "Parks with Plaques" at 12:41:00 PM today. This cache makes our find count 11424.
[Blue]
Today was just the sort of day for another sight seeing tour around some of the roads in the local area. In our travels we found 10 many and varied caches ranging in size from micro to large. A big thank you to all the CO's for placing the caches we found today.

There are two "Nita" plaques in O'Neill Square. Initially we looked at the wrong one (and the calculations still seemed to work). The other one gave perfect 20/20 hindsight coordinates.
[/Blue]
Coordinate Accuracy: We found the cache around 2m from where the GPS said we should be looking. Wink
Cache Condition: The container and log book are in good shape.
Took: Nothing.
Left: Smiley Badge.
Thanks for the hunt,
Regards

Last cache for today as heading home this afternoon.
We started to collect the clues after our meal at the RSL in Kingaroy and had almost all of them except 2. Fast forward to today and we only had to check one in the morning and one this afternoon before heading to the final.
Found the park to get the final clue and I already had it correct.
Headed to the final GZ and all was quiet and after a quick search came up with the cache.
Signed the log and returned to hide.
TNLNSL TFTC Thanks youngoldfella Cool All good with this cache
A favourite from me for the tour of Kingaroy

After checking coordinates with CO and getting a little extra help, kids located it. They thought this was a clever cache. Thanks Youngoldfella for the hunt.

09-Apr-15
Made a mistake somewhere - no find for us.

08-Apr-15
After attending the Mega we spend a couple of days at our aunties place at Kingaroy and of course cache while we are here Smile the caches here took us to places we have never seen here although we have visited Kingaroy a few times before, weather was up and down but being from SA it was warm to us lol, this one took us to many places looking for the numbers required, somehow we got a couple wrong but we were still very close to GZ, a quick email to CO and we soon found out where our mistake was, we return to GZ and make a quick find, some interesting info was picked up along the way, its a shame that multis get left behind as the trads are faster to find, this one was a cool multi to do. TFTC

07-Apr-15
7/3/15 out exploring plaques and came across a series of numbers that resembled some coords. Headed to GZ and thankfully it was empty. My GPS kept jumping but I started the search. Soon after a muggle arrived to eat her lunch. I waited her out and began the search again. Nothing. I was just about to leave when the GPS pointed to another spot. A quick look there and the cache was in hand. Woo hoo. TFTC and a clever hide. Smile

28-Feb-15
Out and about with GrannySmith1947 for an afternoon of caching. We were only going for about 10 caches and this is cache 10.
After going to all the parks and finding out the coords we ended up in this nice little park. My coords I had were a little wrong. We searched every corner of the park but could not find it. GrannySmith1947 and I will head back out tomorrow to find it this time with the correct coords given to us by the YoungOldFella.
Thanks for the cache YoungOldFella.

28-Feb-15
Out and about with GrannySmith1947 today. After coming to get this one yesterday with the wrong coords YoungOldFella helped us out and corrected us. We were almost about to give up when GrannySmith1947 found it. Thanks for the cache YoungOldFella.

Was in Kingaroy and as it was very late not many about so decided to check this one and it is where it is supposed to be. All good.

22-Jan-15
Have been carrying a replacement around with me for a few days now in case I get to Kingaroy before my next lot of days off. Got the opportunity at 0200 this morning and now a new container is in place. It is covered well in mulch.

21-Jan-15
This one is all set to go again. Please be aware of the muggle factor if attempting this on in daylight business hours. Early morning or late afternoon or Saturday afternoon or Sunday would be a good time for this one. Also night is good but you may need a torch if you do not know the area. Gathering all the info from the waypoints is a go at any time. Have fun.

12-Jan-15
Will replace and put back on line soon

11-Jan-15
In Kingaroy returning from a case and a quick check revealed this one to be missing. Will replace in the next few days.

10-Jan-15
Did the leg work etc and arrived at the calculated GZ. Had a look around and couldn't find anything...checked the hint and did a bit of deeper searching...still nothing. Will send a photo to CO to confirm I was in the right spot...may have another look....Either way it was my first multi and was fun to do the work. TFTC.

27-Dec-14
In Kingaroy for Christmas and needed to grab a third cache type by youngoldfella for the "Know your local cacher Challenge - Qld". Did all the legwork for this on Boxing Day just before dark. Arrived at GZ before heading home to Toowoomba only to discover a couple of young girls sitting at a nearby table. They didn't look like they had any intentions of moving on so will have to grab this one another time.

24-Oct-14
Kids enjoyed this one going around all the parks collecting the clues, was a quick find after doing all the sums and coming up with the right co ords, who great little multi never usually real good with them but nailed this one TFTC

02-Aug-14
It has been quite awhile since I did a complete check on this one. I found a couple of very small inconsistences and I have corrected them. Bad form to log my own cache but please bear with me on this one. thanks for understanding. Still a good multi to do.

03-May-14
There you go, it was now over 2 years ago I first attempted this geocache. In that DNF log I mentioned galumphing all over town in search of the fabled parks and their associated plaques. We never did get a decent final area that day.

Late last year I was back for another look and instead of looking at the final we had calculated, I looked further afield. I came across one area that seemed likely, but alas, still no find. Maybe third time will be the charm?

So tonight headed back through town again with Fangsoki and this was now the last unfound geocache for me in Kingaroy. I told him about my efforts here and he suggested I was not far off. Being cold and dark out, there was nobody to annoy us as we pulled up near the right spot. Would you believe it was the same likely spot I searched a few months back? Just shows how blind I am!

With torch in hand I looked about and made a quick find. Ah, I was so close last time. No matter, got it now. I signed the logbook before rehiding as found. Gee, it is cold out. Now we just need fuel to make it back home to Brisbane tonight. TFTC youngoldfella Smile

29-Jul-13
Went for a drive to check on this one. Dymo tapes still in place. Micro gone so will replace it soon.

26-Jul-13
We certainly enjoyed the challenge of finding all the WPs, doing the maths and being rewarded by finding the well hidden final cache in such a lovely park. Some of these WPs required some patience and stealth and we were pleased to see so many lovely parks in Kingaroy. We really appreciate all the time and effort that you have put into doing this fantastic multi which we thought was great and will give you a fave from us.TFTC youngoldfella and getting us to visit so many lovely parks here.

01-May-13
Before I left towne today, I just had to take the tour Smile
No navigational problems, I know where most of the parks in Kingaroy are.
And as for the final waypoint, well I have spent a lot of money over the years there Razz
I swapped some more dosh for nuts today as well Smile
The peanuts from the van are so fresh that the 'squeak' as you chew them [:o]
My fave is the "Kurry" flavour Razz
Enough of the nutty stories, what about the cache ?

The clues were easy to find and I actually got the sums right for once Smile
And once I found the nook (I should have suspected this spot) the cache came to paw in the first place I poked [^]
More remarkable was the lack of muggles [:o]

TFTC and tour de Kingaroy !!

Day 2 of a little 2 day road trip.

We hadn't planned this to be a caching holiday but we earmarked just a couple of caches to grab along the way and this was one of them.

After a great meal at the Kingaroy RSL, we decided to do all our Reconnaissance to obtain all the necessary numbers to complete the coordinates. We drove around ALL over the dark, quiet, spooky "Kingaroy at Night" venturing into some very DARK PARKS! Twisted

Seemed like there was no one else on the road, but us and a police car.

Over the next hour and a half, we had gathered all the numbers bar two. We searched and searched to find this answer and finally gave up after about 20 minutes.

We took all the information we had back to our Motel room to work on our plan of attack in the morning.

Having used a guesstimate for the last two digits, we headed off after breakfast, and found ourselves in a location that seemed to fit in with some other clues provided.

After a short search, there were a few too many corners to search within the coordinates that we had guesstimated. With the risk of being seen by nearby worker muggles, we decided to PAF, a previous finder, who provided the missing digits.

Surprise, Surprise.... Surprised we were less than 5 metres from GZ with our guesstimate.

With the full set of co ords now in Mr Garmin, this ended up being a VERY quick find.

We sat down at a nearby table and filled out the log. We took a path tag and Geo Kids TB and left behind a 1952 Australian Penny and a 3D St George Footy Card.

This was a really fun adventure and we really enjoyed it, so much so, we are awarding it one of our favourites.

Those parks look so much friendlier in the light of day!!! Cool

Thank you for your effort in putting this one together. Big Grin
