Thanks SciFiRulz for putting the replacement cache back into position for me

Found while accompanied by Cybergran V on a bit of a maintenance run. The idea was she would chauffeur me around and I would find the caches, she would see if any maintenance was required. That lasted as long as it took for us to hop in her car and find it had a flat battery.Take two. Now I am driving with her directing me where to go. Had a fun few hours picking up caches around the area. Don't ask me where I actually drove, I was lost after the first few turns. This one took a while to log. I collected the required information last night as we were picking up fish and chips, then as we were driving around we stopped for me to make the find, only to find there was no cache there. After having lunch I replaced this one with the new container supplied by Cybergran V who is looking after it. Now it's time for me to leave Shepparton and head for home.TFTC

We had dropped the motorhome off for a service and this was the closest I had that was in the solved pile from a previous visit many years ago. The co-ords I had came up empty handed. We expanded out search and had to check out a wide area before eventually coming up with what we had been looking for. Now I'm not sure if I had solved it correctly or something had changed but happy to have our name in the log. It also filled in some time for us, while waiting for the service. Thanks for placing the cache and doing the maintenance needed, so we can find this cache.

Full time Nomads, travelling around Australia since 2014. In Shepparton for a few days as we wend our way towards Canberra for the GeoBash. Today we decided to have a lazy day. With a late start, it was off to find an award winning Vanilla Slice to fuel us for an afternoon caching.Hooray no DNF today! although we did need PAF for some additional info during the day. Wink No fish n chips today for us.TFTC Team GraMon (Cache Guardian = Cybergran V) [^]

Needing a multi today to fill a gap in my calendar, while visiting the CO during our flying trip through Shepparton, we visited the locations required to complete this cache. I was just able to reach enough to retrieve the container and then replace it near the busy intersection. Very interesting story behind the cache is well worth the read.

Our first multi cache done and dusted to start we were walking all across the street and finally I saw it it was so happy and then was thinking of how to enter the coordinates then I realised I can write it in the waypoints section and enter the coordinates and then we were off to find it we found the cache literally straight away it was probably the wrong time to go geocaching because school just finished for everybody and there was traffic everywhere and then I looked up but was getting sandwiched can’t believe blu tac was holding it up TFTC. Stamped as JAMS - JJ52, alllister w, mogni, sir_spectre. All of these teams are from South Australia and after some major planning we managed to find approx 700 caches while being away for a week. Also qualifiied for a variety of challenges, found LGA's and had lots of laughs. Found while attending the Victorian Mega in Rutherglen.
Thanks

13-Apr-23
What a great bit of history associated with this cache. A very public area so for me it was a quick look and grab and back to the vehicle to sign the log and then a quick rush to replace.

12-Apr-23
The JAMS team (JJ52 allister w, mogni and sir_spectre) were on a road trip heading to the Rutherglen Mega event (staying in Corowa) for 3 days then winding our way home via Albury, Wangaratta, Bendigo and various other places in between. It was a great week with many more caches found than we expected. There were targeted caches, challenge caches, Ad Labs, events and various others to fulfill various statistics for the four of us. We were lucky with the weather, it rained a bit on our way over on Friday, then half a day after we left Wangaratta but on the whole it was great caching weather. We did drive a few slippery muddy roads, but nothing too bad. We also caught up with lots of people either at events or out in the field and enjoyed many great chats. All in all a fun time with lots of Victoria explored and then very tired when I arrived home. [^]Big Grin

Today started off wet when we left Wangaratta heading in a round about way to Bendigo finding caches in a different LGA and others that we had targeted, but thankfully the rain stopped around lunch time which was good. Cool

We spent a bit of time caching around Shepparton as we wanted to find at least 20 caches in this LGA. Big Grin

I spotted this one while the others were looking elsewhere. Cool Took TB.

Thanks for the cache Cybergran V. Smile

12-Apr-23
Stopped to get closer to 20 caches in this LGA. Also lunch stop, fish and chips of course. quick solve and find.
Found with JAMS (( JJ52, Allister w, Mogni, plus sir_spectre ) Mitchell&hound wasn't with us this trip) crew. All logs stamped as JAMS to save log space. This trip we are off to the Rutherglen Mega and then slowly coming back to S.A. for a total of 8 dys and 7 nights. The targets of this trip are for JJ52 to get 11 more multi to get to 1000 multi's and a few more Victorian LGA's, Allister W was targeting 17 virtuals ( or as many as he could get ) a few more Victorian LGA's Mogni to make the Rutherglen Mega her 20, 000 find and also for her to complete all Victoria LGA's, sir_spectre needs 1 more multi to get to 1000 multi's and get his Victoria LGS's down to 2 LGA's left. We got 20 or more finds in a LGA if we stayed in there over night. We also detoured to stamp any challenge caches that we were " in the general area off " and to complete that challenge before we came back to S.A. This meant that some times dirt road (s) had to be walked down because they were to wet to drive down and/or haven't been repaired since last years flooding. We started off the holiday in the rain and then that cleared up only to start raining and a overnight thunder storm but most of the trip was dry. Over 600 caches found for the trip including over 120 lab stages in that total. Got to complete the GPS Maze at the Rutherglen Mega for a 2nd time. Allister w was the team driver for all of the Victorian part of the trip. I think this was the first trip ever to Victoria that the extension pole didn't get used but the 6.2 meter ladder did get a work out.

12-Apr-23
The JAMS (JJ52, allister w, mogni and sir_spectre) go mega... We came, we cached, we laughed, we hugged and we had a great time. All caches were replaced better than found. It may have taken one day to get there, but it took us 5 days to get home Smile
Thanks for placing this cache for us to find and the hot chips were yummy too!

Talk about having to be sneaky! This cache was lots of fun and even gave us inspiration for a fish and chip dinner. Churchill gave us a peculiar gleam in his eye as he looked at us from his resting place and we immediately knew where we needed to go. The cache is definitely one of the more public ones we’ve ever done, so we left behind a little treat for the next finder. Love the caches, CyberGran! Onto the next one for our Saturday night crusade.

Apart from finding incidental caches in Shepparton when we have passed through before, we stopped in the city for a couple of nights and today we were guided around the area by a local cacher. This was one of the caches we visited.

This was a very interesting background story to this multicache. Data collection at WP1 was straightforward. Then it was off to GZ where accurate coordinates and a familiar style of hide led to a quick find. The cache and contents were in good condition. Thanks Team GraMon for the cache and Cybergran V for the ongoing maintenance.

I stopped briefly at the tail end of my walk around Shep, and read this interesting piece of history, then collected the information I needed, just as n0w0rries rang to say he'd finished making his delivery.

I don't think it is possible for more fitting starting coordinates.

So, after meeting him at a friend's for a much-needed cuppa, and ascertaining that I'd pretty much walked right past this cache, one more stop was made for a quick find in the only spot it could possibly be at these last coordinates. Apparently, in the time since this one was published, the original hiding spot was cut down in favour of development.

Thanks, Team GraMon for a fun history lesson, and Cybergran V for keeping the cache in play. And the cuppa. And all the other finds I made in town today. Oh, and making sure I wasn't colour blind.

---

Got a phone call from n0w0rries.

"Gotta take a load of lumber up the road. It's gonna be really boring. Wanna come?"

How could I resist such a sales pitch?

So there I was, at stupid o'clock, walking through a dark cemetery to ride shotgun. As you do.

Day #10 of the MEGA road trip. It’s time to leave Albury and head back to Wangaratta to collect OZHockeyChicks car. Then it’s a cross state trip go Shepparton and Echuca to our new home for the rest of the week on the VIC/NSW border.

I needed a multi for the day so was pleased to find this resurrected historical cache. A nice quick find.

Thanks Team GraMon for placing this gamepiece in the wild for us to find.

14-Jan-22
Found the cache after a little bit of tooing and froing.

e.Gregory1 and Freddo decided to travel to Wangaratta for Geocaching Victoria’s first 2022 Mega event. The attraction of GeoMaze icon was just too tempting. We packed the Land Cruiser for a bubble environment. There would be some public exposure but we would be keeping it minimal. Fortunately we did not bother with any warm clothes. Fortunately we packed some Bushmans with +20% DEET. There were caches to find and we found caches. We saw a lot of interesting places and met the occasional geocacher or two in the field.

I will apologize right now, because everything from here on is here solely for the purpose of padding the word count.

This particular geocache was found using one of the following GPS enabled devices, Garmin GPSr, Montana 680t, Oregon 650 or Dakota 20 and a Samsung S8. Waypoints and paperless geocaching were downloaded via GSAK 9. Log prepared, checked and submitted using GSAK publish logs...

Warning, this hobby can be addictive. It can lead to exercise, meeting new people and finding interesting places you might not have known existed otherwise. Beware: you may have fun.

Thanks for the cache. Merci la cache. Danke für den Cache. Gracias por el caché. Bedankt voor de cache. Kiitos kätköstä. Zikomo posungira. Terima kasih untuk cache. Hvala cache. Köszönöm a cache. Nga mihi mo te keteroki. Dankie vir die kas.

Found as I made my way from Adelaide to the Mega event at Wangaratta with Freddo.

We meandered our way across northern Victoria, camping along the river and generally avoiding contact with other people as far as possible to minimise covid risks. We targeted some specific caches of interest, but also took the opportunity to find other caches opportunistically as we were passing.

A nice and simple multi.

Thanks Team GraMon for the cache.

Wangaratta Mega
Day Two: St. Arnaud to Wangaratta.

The forecast for weather in Wangaratta didn’t look good, so I was in no hurry to get there.

I was at the nearby TB motel, saw the description, and had to check it out! My father grew up in postwar Britain, and a lot of those experiences have been passed on to me. Can you believe it, I just had fish and chips at Mooroonpa on the way in.

I enjoyed this multi very much, thanks Team GraMon.

To take up the generous offer by 'Cybergran V ' would result in a significant change to the cache profile, such that it would no longer be as it was when published.

As the cache is no longer as published, it is being archived. If you still want a placement at this location please create and submit a new cache.

If you wish to contact a Reviewer regarding this cache, please send an email via the profile - [**Bunjil**,](https://coord.info/PR9GZ0K) and quote the cache name and GC number.

This cache has been cared for by me for many years as it is of great historical significance to Shepparton, and the original owners of the cache no longer participate in geocaching.
The cache was previously in a peppercorn tree which was removed when the roundabout here was replaced by traffic lights.
I have prepared and placed a new cache in a suitable position within a couple of metres of the previous cache and wish the cache to become a Community Cache of which I am prepared to be its Cache Guardian

Hi there Cache Owner,.

As indicated in the Needs Maintenance log of Mar/21/2020, the correct action, if you cannot promptly attend to a cache needing maintenance, is to Disable it and indicate an actual date when you expect it will be available.

The cache has now been Disabled. **Please provide indication when you believe the issue will have been resolved.**

**And don't forget,** once you have addressed the issue, post both an "Owner Maintenance" log, see here; [**Removing the Needs Maintenance Icon**](http://support.groundspeak.com/index.php?pg=kb.page&id=404) and an "Enable Listing" log, see here; [**Temporarily Disable and Enable**](https://support.groundspeak.com/index.php?pg=kb.page&id=235 ) to get your cache up and running again.

**JUST A HINT:-** In case you are not aware, there is a new Geocaching Dash Board designed to assist a Cache Owner in managing the caches they own. Have a read about it [**HERE.**](https://www.geocaching.com/blog/2020/07/welcome-to-the-cache-owner-dashboard/?newsletter=PM) You will find your very own dash board [**HERE**](https://www.geocaching.com/play/owner?utm_source=geocaching&utm_medium=blog&utm_campaign=COD)

I decided that it was time to head to Shep for a few days caching. I was impressed with the quality of the hides in the area. This was one that we found late at night after dinner. A great multi that has and tells a lot about the history of Shepparton, but unfortunate that they don’t keep the house in the same condition.

A huge weekend away, with over 2000km being driven over 3 days from Adelaide to Mansfield via swan hill and Echuca, then return via Bendigo and St Arnaud. The target was to collect 11 new local government areas and mostly stop and do some multis.

But the main goal was tour of Mansfield, a cycling tour consisting of 3 stages over 2 days (Saturday and Sunday).
Stage 1: 14km Individual time time trail.
Stage 2: 76km road race finishing up old Tolmie
Stage 3: 46km road race finishing up the top of mt bulla.

Wednesday I left Adelaide for Victoria via pinnaroo, I decided I would stop when I had enough of driving. I camped in the back of a cemetery yes a cemetery, nice and peaceful in Nyah. Thursday I made my way from Nyan to Mansfield via Swan Hill, Echuca and Shepparton with 2 trips over the boarder. A lot of DNFs on caches as some were barrow red off due to road works and others I must if stuffed up. I ended up camping the night in Mansfield. Friday I held my event in Mansfield with a big show of 1 (just myself)!!! And went for a drive up mt bulla. Saturday was mainly racing and Sunday after the race I made my way back to Adelaide via Victorias oldest cache and some new roads through the middle of victoria that I had never been on before.. With arrival on Monday at 1am back home. A big trip out and a great weekend away with a little under 100 finds.
Thanks for the cache placements by all the cache owners.

Suscoe was heading for Numurkah today for a family celebration.
It was a cold and wet drive north from home.
The rain lifted a little as we approached Shepparton which was good to see.
That was a nice multi, saw some interesting sights.
Found the cache, what more could a caching team want.
Thanks to Team GraMon for this journey.
No chips for us today but we did find your cache.

12-Aug-18
With a last minute decision to spend the night in Shepparton, we did a quick map search to pick out a dozen or so caches to grab. Obviously, this one made the cut !! The weather wasn't too bad, even though it was cold, the rain held off. We had a blast on our lightning visit to the area. We didn't get all caches that we planned, so a return trip is in order.
This is what we like, a multi that works the first time !! Got what we needed at WP1 and headed off to gz. This is a very busy little area, so we were glad we did this on a Sunday !! We got a laugh at the name of the dog grooming place across the road, what a classic. We found the hide about waist height, not eye level. TFTC Team GraMon Big Grin

Hi there Team GraMon.

We found your cache **"Cor Blimey! Where's Our Fish And Chips?.. Winston?"** today. (This makes our find count 19260).

Today is our last day in Shepparton for a while, so our caching today didn't really follow a logical sequence. We tried for this cache a couple of days ago without success. It sure pays to read the cache description properly, that way you won't go to the wrong spot. Sad.

Geocaching is just like real estate - location, location, location! We understand that it is common for Geocachers to hide caches in locations that are important to them, reflecting a prime camping spot, great viewpoint, unusual location, etc. This cache started off well, the story on the cache page was interesting, and the building at the initial WP has a lot of history, but we didn't think the final GZ had redeeming features whatsoever. [:(!] We found the cache out in the open amongst all the discarded lunch boxes and other rubbish that was strewn around. We placed it in a more secure spot, but the site is an absolute pigsty.

We found 7 caches today (DNF'd 1) & thoroughly enjoyed our cache raid. Thanks for placing the cache here, without geocaching as our guide we would never have found so many interesting places on our travels.

***Coordinate Accuracy:** We found your cache around 2m from where the GPS said we should be looking. Wink
**Cache Condition:** Just another mint tin cache.
**Took:** Nothing.
**Left:** A Smiley Badge.

Thanks for the hunt today,

Regards

Ian & Penny.

This one had us running round abit. We had the right color that saw us seeing red. I think we are going colour blind as we ended up in the black. We were getting green with envy on the co-ords of this cache but we sat and thought about it and the bright white light suddenly dawned on us. We ate some blackberries in the car while going to the location. Then stopped to grab a bottle of water. TFTC SL TNLN . Cache in good order.

I had a couple of hours to spare but no transport. A call to Cybergran V solved the problem and she picked me up a few minutes later for a drive around to some Shepparton caches. Only having my phone with me meant limited information and I relied on my driver the point me in the general direction of the cache at each stop.

We had gathered the information for this cache many years ago but had no luck finding the cache at GZ. We arrived there to find a group of teenagers sitting very close by and decided a search was not possible. Since then the final has been relocated following the passing of the original cache owner. Today I was droped quite close to the new GZ and a quick find was made. It's great to finally convert this one to a happy face.

My thanks to Cybergran V for this cache and the guided tour.

Found this one on a trip around Shepparton today. I had walked to the initial coordinates but then was driven to the final coordinates by a local cacher and the cache maintainer. Interesting history and I can recommend the fish and chips from opposite the start of the cache as being particularly good.

The cache was found on the ground so I signed the log and it was replaced in the correct spot.

Thanks for the adventure and the cache Team GarMon.

I had tried to find this one last year when I was in Shepparton. Today it was first on the list and I hoped to start the day on a good note. On a few previous visits to Shepparton to visits friends i never got around to having a go at this Multi but that changed today with a few hours to kill With a Muggle mate whom doesn't actually mind Geocaching, we went to the listed co-ords and found the coloured numbers needed. Went to GZ and put my hand on the cache immediately (like a seagull on a hot chip ), i love it when that happens especially when they're as well camo'd as this one brilliant camo! So very very sorry that this wasn't logged when it was found. Just going through my phone (as it is dying) and taking photos off. I always take photos and screenshots when I find a cache and I have found about 30 caches that I haven't logged, this being one of them.
My son and his family used to live in Shepparton so we had done every cache in Shep and the surrounds up until his moving. Just to top things off, I was present when it was found again on 25 april the following year when a whole lot of us attended an event held by Cybergran out between Mooroopna and Shep. I didn't add my name as I had found it before. I am logging it on the date that it was first found (with Papi4506) as that seems right but will change if needed. Very sorry for not logging this when originally found. Now off to do the rest of them (lots of trackable to discover as well, hope the phone lasts long enough)

I had looked for this cache a few months ago with no success, but after chatting to a previous finder I found out that the container had gone missing and had since been replaced by CybergranV (thanks Val). Armed with this info I returned to the scene of the crime and soon found the very well camoed container. Thanks for all the interesting history provided with this cache and thanks to CybergranV for keeping the cache up and running.

Travelled past this location 3 other times and each time there has been too many people. This morning the place was almost empty and even with a quiet gz, site couldn't find the cache.
Making a PAF to Cybergran V, she told be the location and the container however I knew I had looked there.
Looking on the ground around some rubbish I found the cache that I had dismissed as just some trash.
Replaced back where the cache I thought it should be, at my chest height.
Thanks for the cache Team GraMon and for the help Cybergran V.

Pretty sure I was in the right place and boy you were right about it being 'very public'.
Only looked for about a minute as too many people, including a lady sitting in her car right next to the gz.
Thanks anyway Team GraMon, perhaps next time.

Today was the day that muggle partner, Brodie and I left our friends at the Wakiti Creek Resort and headed towards the Lake Eildon GeoTour.
We got a bit stuck around Shepparton (there was just too many caches that I wanted to do Wink) and didn't leave there until about 5.30pm, after catching up with the lovely Cybergran V again Wink
So with our plans to have started the GeoTour today having been derailed Surprised, we drove into Alexandra and stayed there for the night.
After tea, we headed out and walked around while doing the Alexandra Post Office cache Cool
Today's cache finds numbered Smile 10 and there was 2 DNFs Sad

Unless mentioned otherwise, please know that your cache and log book was in good condition.

We saw Winston and made a decision. Off to GZ and looked and looked and then I finally gave up and PAF'd a local geocacher.
The considerate local then offered to come and look with us and as a result, I got to log this cache find Cool
It is so cool to be able to find caches this old and older and even better when the cache description has so much history included that you learn more than one thing when you read it! [^] Cool

Beaver and harrowang are spending the AFL long weekend in Shepparton. The weather is glorious and even a little too warm by afternoon, but great for getting out and about to find a few local caches. A multi with an interesting starting point and Be from Beavar was quick to find the cache at GZ. SL at 4.20pm #3069 TFTC Team GraMon

As Cybergran V said this one has been on my radar for over a year. But I am glad to finally get my name in the log. Thanks for the cache.

I have been waiting for over a year to log this one after the tree containing the cache was cut down, so pleased to finally convert this orange blob on my map to a smiley face.

Having grown up living exactly half way between both waypoints, I am so proud to finaly log this very local and iconic cache.[^]
Thankyou Team GraMon for reserecting this one, I still remember being told the history of this place as a child and always kept an eye out for the busts every time I walked past.Big Grin
The letter box could use a lick of paint though and the hint will only advantage the "vertically challenged".Wink
SL TFTC . A definite favourite from me.Smile

Oh dear, we aren't doing well with the finding of these 'easy' caches. Visited where we thought it should be, no luck, so we checked all the other coordinates as well. Possibly we are just terrible at looking!

Having done a little shopping in Shepp, I had a little bit of time up my sleeve so a couple of caches were looked up. Leaving the car in the middle of the CBD and walking gave me plenty of time to read all about this one and put in all the possible waypoints. When at gz a quick look and re route, hop skip jump (and all the other weird things that cachers do whilst on the hunt) and before you know it I had it in hand. Now I have plenty of time as I walk back to write the log. I wonder if the current occupants of this great effort know of its history!?! Luv the cache, thanks. TNLN

Second attempt here today. There seems to be no colour on the metal number on the letterbox but there are three colours that it definitely can't be. Using the co ords for the fourth colour we were unsuccessful.
