A quick find this afternoon on the way north. I haven't visited the merino for years and today time didn't permit for more than a quick stop to make the find.

not were we where expecting but a quick find for the geokids as the adults were to cold to get out of the car. tftc
We've visited the big merino several times now but today was the first time we were able to go and look for the nearby cache too. Found it easily but left the pen in the car & was reluctant to return due to the heavy traffic. It's amazing what a twig and mud can do!

Went to the wrong sport first because I didn't read the instructions. A quick back track and the cache was ours.
Interesting container! lots of rubbish about in this corner but dont think too many mugglers would be out this end

Police were doing random breath tests too close to GZ so we decided to move on. And it was WAY TOO COLD to stay any longer.

On a Goulburn day work trip had time to grab this one on the way out. Just had to wait for the police to finish booking someone on the road right at GZ, then it was an easy find. Thanks JABs.
Under the watchful eye of the big ram we made our way over to GZ and made the find interesting container in a container. The viewing platform in the rams head is not accessible at the present time. The little sheep letterbox is cute.TFTC SL...

It was a cold and dark night, but I was pleased to find the area pretty well lit, the streetlights and glowing neon from nearby fast-food joints. That made finding all the easier.

This was a great excuse to stop for a milkshake in the servo. Then we checked out the Baa Ram You. Unfortunately, due to council safety regulations, you can't climb to the top for a view over the cache at the moment. Life is so silly sometimes, isn't it?
But we enjoyed the cache location up close and logged our visit. TFTC

Our fifth stop on our ANZAC Day trip to Goulburn and we grabbed this one after lunching nearby. I was a little disappointed that due to Council Regulations you can't climb to the top of Rambo any more.

We'd stopped nearby for the free wi-fi connection, so it was an opportunity too good to pass up. I even visited the Big Merino & had a look inside... nope, no caches in there!
I felt decidedly exposed while retrieving the cache - at least I retrieved it very quickly - and I suppose all the passers-by have other things on their mind.

Took some time to stop and smell the roses, and found a cache for our troubles. Nice one.

We took more time to find a place to park than to grab the cache. We went past once, did a U turn, then stopped opposite the cache, only to see it really wasnt a safe place to park, so off we went, and did another Uey, then pulled up closer to the cache. Easy find, in a really agricultural cache container.
There is a hotrod meet in town this easter. The rods we have passed so far, travelling north along the Hume, and later travelling south as we headed further north, have been fantastic to see.
Found at 1325 hrs, number 9 for today.

Younger daughter, Bethany, and I drove through here on Saturday night after stopping in Goulburn for dinner. We knew there was a cache near the big Merino, but where had it gone? I hadn't read the bit about the move, and hadn't been through here for some time so was rather surprised to see the ram had done the bolt down the road!
Came back today on the way home, and dropped in to find the cache.
TNLNSL, thanks for the cache!
best wishes,
Wal & Bethany

I had read the description about the move, but I still expected it to be in its old spot. So used to seeing it there. Went and grabbed the cache, and then hit the bakery for morning tea.
Thanks, Robmc.

On our way to the south coast, and pulled off the Hume for a quick fuel stop. Spotted the easy parking for this one, so made another quick stop to check out the gardens and sign the log. A beautiful rest stop, such a shame about the rubbish near the cache.

Heading for this cache I dutifully got the geomobile into the right lane for the turnoff to Rambo's place
Confusion reigned when I saw the wooly one standing on the wrong side of the old highway [:o]
Huh!! Was someone pulling the wool over my eyes or had senility set in amd my memory failing ?
But reading the cache notes reassured me that neither was really the case
So after topping up the tank at the Golden Fleece I set off on foot across the road to find the cache
It was a bed of roses and I quickly found the cache and signed the log book [^]

12:54 pm - Just as we were working out where to park in the Big Marino An RBT Unit set up in front of where we thought we were heading. So we decided to stop and have lunch in the bakery (well worth it rather than the golden arches up futher)We thought the cops would be there for a while and it wasn't going to be possible on this trip but by the time lunch was over they were gone and we were ready to hone in on the cache.

Found at 11:15 with shell_seeker and matt_stomper.
Quickly found, and I think that we used the only remaining space on the logsheet to sign. Then it was off to grab a pie for early lunch.
A very busy area, but I don't think that we raised the curiosity of the passing traffic too much. I'm still not used to seeing the Big Merino down this end of town.
Another missing GC (grrrr) - I will message the owner.
Thanks JABs

Found 8:20am. Headed to Rambo. Then realised that the co-ordinates were a little further away. Quick U-turn and cache found.
Tried in the afternoon, but police had set up breath testing right in front of the cache location, so I thought I might look a little suspicious. Came back just on sunset. Couldn't climb the sheep but the cache was an easy find. Log sheet is completely full though and needs replacing. Thanks.
Nice rose garden and nice cache container. When I saw the little monument I thought we had been gone through a time warp and turned up back at "Old Hume". This cache is certainly designed to suit the harsh climate of Goulburn. TFTC
Found with slowdad during an afternoon trip to Goulburn. Had to wait a few minutes for a muggle to drive away but after that it was an easy find. TFTC
Found with the psychodaughter during an afternoon trip to Goulburn. Normally I can't do caches like this when I'm with the psychodaughter, she sneezes too much. Luckily she'd taken hayfever tablets this morning so it wasn't a problem. TFTC

I was expecting something in the middle of the muggle territory across the road and instead I got a pleasent walk through the rose garden. Everything was in bloom and it smelt wonderful. Nice placement of the cache and the container was pretty cool.

We looked at this one a week ago and decided to give it a miss because of the location, but on the return trip we noticed that there is plenty of space to park and a sign encouraging you to do so! We grabbed the well constructed cache in short order and were on our way. No coin in the cache. TNLNSL. Thanks JABs.

Found at 4.10pm GAFF1. We had booked ourselves into a motel just across the road. so before checking in we stopped and found this very convenient cache. Love the big animals - should be a cache series about big animals! Thanks JAB's.
Ewe put this one a long way from where we assumed it would be, baaaat it turned out to be an easy find with spot-on coords. The roses along the fence near the cache site made a great display. A refueling stop at the nearby bakery completed our brief visit.
Under the cover of darkness whick was quite good no one can see me hiding here while I sign the log - don't think any one will be able to read the log signature (scribbled in the dark with out a torch).

On the way to Canberra we stopped for a search.
We'd come by the previous weekend by chance, and knew there was a cache by the sheep somewhere, but not exactly where, so had a look around. It isn't at the base of the sheep!
Today we had luck, good to have co-ordinates and a GPS. Did forget a pen though, so couldn't sign!
The egg and coin that Easter bunnies left is nowhere to be seen though, there is nothing in the cache now except the log.
Oh, a shame you can't climb the sheep and look out over fellow cachers going about their business. Council regulations...

Had a chuckle when we realised the sheep had crossed the road. Pity we couldn't see the view due to maintenance. Our GPS pointed true and we soon had the contents in our hands. Took dice, left egg and coin.
Parked at the big woolly bum and whilst Mrs ssmc4 browsed inside, Dad & the 2 kids walked over to nab a cache at 15:00.
