We walked the Chalwell Galleries trail with 2 adults and 6 boys under 10 years old. So, when it became difficult to find the cache at the coordinates (even after crawling into some tight spots), I simply had to give up. I guess we will try again the next time we head over to Mount Buffalo!
After finding a couple of extreme caches over by The Horn, we decided to come back to camp rather than continue out along the South Buffalo walk this arvo as the weather looked like it was going to turn. It certainly did turn later in the evening but not before I made a solo run up here clock-wise along the galleries trail while the kids went on a big bike ride around Catani. Once I got to within 7m of GZ I realised that the T-rating did not match what I was informed on the cache page but I was greeted with a FANTASTIC view here! Anyway so I went around and in the other way where I was greeted with the same predicament. Hmm. There's no other way there without going at-least T4.5? Then I re-read the cache page/ consulted the hint and realised, now that I was more familiar with the localised area, that this thing is prolly going to be waaay off course if it is hidden where the CO describes on the page. Tried that area anyway and found the cache. Reading through some logs I discovered that this has been a common issue here lol. I tried to locate the other cache (the MV replacement cache is the one I found and logged) but came up nope. I then continued clock-wise along the galleries trail back to Catani. I'm glad I did as that is where it all started! The trail gets amazing just up from GZ. Whatever you do checkout this whole area it is amazing! TFTC and views, Happy Chappies.

This one was a little difficult to find, even though I looked very close to it. Finally I went to the pictures others had posted and that narrowed it down to a very specific area, where I soon found it. The galleries themselves were pretty fun to climb through, even though I find the granite somewhat abrasive (compared to the sandstone of the Grampians, which is more what I'm used to).
At one point I was reminded of part of the Narnia book The Silver Chair, where they find the sign "Under Me"... fortunately I did not fall down into Underland.
Thanks for the cache, glad I decided to do this short walk.

On a walk before it got too dark, we went for this cache. Looked high and low for an hour, but no cache. Nice walk though.
GPS is off quite a bit. Still was able to find it. Enjoyed to scramble through the gallery
When we walked through the gallery we had a look for this cache as well. We searched almost half an hour. The hide was really nasty. The gallery was the last hike we did today. Nice to see!
Thanks for showing. Tftc

Did not find this one despite looking for a Long time, but loved the galleries! Thank you for bringing us here!
Did not find but had an amazing time navigating the gallery, so we felt pretty proud of ourselves anyway!!
#1073 - Unsure whether we would find this cache or not, we decided to give it a go and see how we went.
The walk in was nice and after a large search in, under and around the rocks and coming up empty, we decided to move a bit further up the track and keep searching.
We came up empty so recent logs and pictures were referred to to try and help locate GZ.
Luckily we found something that helped us triangulate GZ and the cache was soon in hand.
Unfortunately the container with trackable that dhowison was not able to be located but the original cache was.
We then continued our journey through the Gallery's and continued the loop back to lake Catani.
Thanks Happy Chappies, a really fun cache.

Well we figured we would give this one a go following a couple of DNF's. A chat with Team Oaky back at the camp site explained it could be about 20 metres out and that he had once found two containers. He mentioned it was a good area to explore, so while the whole of Team Oaky had lunch we wandered out for a look.
We did the circuit in an anti clockwise rotation. On hindsight I think it is definitely the right direction having down the full loop.
As we reached the cache area we cracked the hint straight away and set to searching. Hmm tougher than first thought. After about another 30 minutes and some pretty wide searching we started checking photo's and found a picture that really helped in an area I had already looked. A closer inspection from Mitch had the cache in hand. Yah...
I have attached my cords, because I think everyone should do this cache it's a great area.

We read the previous log but decided to try our luck anyway. Luck however, was not with us. Despite the DNF, absolutely loved exploring the galleries. At one point i had trouble remembering how i got into one area, lol.
Maybe on another visit?

We walked through the forest, climbed and squeezed through the gallery and then started looking for the cache. We looked in so many different places but had no luck. The time past so quickly and it started to become dark. We gave up the search and walked back to the car. Despite not finding the cache we enjoyed a beautiful day in this part of the world.
I think we found this one. The first time I did the walk the GPS was spun out by lack of sky view and we didn't find it. The next day my daughter took my wife back along the walk and looked for it where I thought it might be according to the last reliable reading my GPS gave. They found a container that seemed to be obviously a cache-type container, but it was empty!!! So I think this one has been muggled. However, we left a trackable inside. So hopefully it is actually the cache that was intended.

After climbing though endless cracks we finally decided to read the hint and quickly found it more than 20 metres from our indicated GZ.
An enjoyable walk and our first find on the mountain after setting up camp late last night.
The kids (and me) really enjoyed the climb down through the gallery.
Thanks for the hide, the cache is in great shape.

Out celebrating Mrs V's birthday up here we decided to grab some caches and enjoy some walks. This was the last walk for the day. With the road closed off we parked and headed inwards. It was much warmer down here than higher up which still had plenty of snow. We headed along the track and made our way up to GZ. We arrived and with the gps and phones getting confused by the rocks we started the search.
How amazing are the views when you go under the rocks. It is a magical place. The cache was finally found and signed and Mr V convinced Mrs V to continue forwards and down through the Chalwell Galleries. Easy for him but Mrs V took some convincing to head down. Once started there was no going back. This is truely a magical place and despite the fear of making the first step it was well worth it. We continued along the track and back to the car. A big sense of achievement. Thanks for sharing this cache with us we thoroughly enjoyed doing it. It is well worth continuing along this track.

I had to have two goes at this one over two days. On my first day I used the listed co-ordinates. This took me through and over and under and up and down some very interesting places, but the co-ordinates kept sending me off a cliff. Some other logs note that the cache is 25 metres off the co-ordinates, so I retreated to safer places, but still with no luck.
I'm a bit obsessive about these things, and reluctant to log a DNF if I don't have to, and seeing as I had the time, that night I went looking for spoilers (I only have a dumb phone so can't do these things on the ground). Thanks Team Oaky for showing me the way. I was even looking under that rock, but didn't try hard enough.
The second day, I punched Team Oaky's co-ordinates into my GPS, and these took me to where I wanted to go. Still, I only found one of the caches
Anyway, apart from the dodgy listed co-ordinates, I'd make this a favourite if I knew how! It's a great place to explore, and I'd say it's the most unusual marked walking track I have done.

Headed up to Mt Buffalo with Yowie3747 to try and find a few caches today. The weather was perfect to be up there, a fantastic sunny Autumn day.
I'd heard about this place from a friend recently and was pretty happy to learn there was a cache here as well. On arrival at GZ the GPS lead us through the boulders to see the great views on the other side. We started searching all over, under and around. Quite a bit of time was spent looking in the wrong area. After looking at some pictures in past logs I wondered where it could be. Yowie widened the search considerably and spotted an area worth investigating. Sure enough the cache was found and log signed. I asked if there was a second cache around the same area, a quick search revealed there was, the original container and log book, which was also signed. We replaced both caches where found. Although the cache was eventually found 25m away from where the GPS was saying it was the awesome views on the far side were worth it, and I enjoyed climbing around even if the cache wasn't there!
We continued on the circuit loop and back to the car.
Thanks for taking me there! another great spot! TFTC

We were having so much fun climbing through the galleries that forgot to check the GPS. Totally missed the cache but still would like to give this a favourite. Thanks Happy Chappies for a great walk!
No luck. Didn't check the clues before heading up there. Great view though. Lots of fun.
Great cache. Stunning views and climbing through the fissure was great fun. Very worth it.

This was the last day on Buffalo and before driving back to Melbourne myself and Ahomburg went after the "easier" caches which we had time to grab this morning. Enjoyed the walk in and views from near by. Took us awhile to locate and the cache was found today to be about 22m but to be expected given the terrain, I think this spot had some of the best views seen so far. Thanks for bringing me here.

Find # 3537
Streak: 155 Days
My caching buddy SedgwickDave and I decided it was time for a bit of a road trip and a couple of nights on mount Buffalo finding all the caches we could there as well as some others on the drive there and back.
After we had packed up the car for the journey home, we headed up the hill to find this cache first. Once at GZ, the view was fantastic. The cache however took a lot longer than anticipated to locate. Not sure if it was the rocks, but the final location had the GPSr about 15 metres out. The container was completely open and all the contents spread out behind the rock. We dried out the container and removed the larger of the contents to put in another cache and re hid the container a little better.
Thanks to Happy Chappies for the cache.

After toiling up the hill in very hot conditions, lots of searching,GPS playing up & then no signal finally gave in. May be next time.
We made the walk with our two little kids and really ejoyed climbing down the gap! The older one climbed it herself, but the younger one had to be carried through this gully, outside of the backpack ... but we all had our fun in there! The cache was just a frustration, looked acording to the hint and also according to the coords, that took me to a nice viewpoint just on top of a high wall justifing T3.5 but this was much to risky for me. Seems reading now the logs, that the listing should be corrected (Difficulty or coords or hint) to let subsequent cachers have more fun. Greetings from Switzerland
This was a hard one but I really enjoyed it. After a strenuous walk up the hill, the GPS had trouble getting a reading and we walked up and down the rocks a few more times than I would have liked. The clue helped though and eventually we found the cache. It was such a beautiful spot to sit in the cool of the rocks and look out at the view. Crawling under the boulders to the right gave the most magnificent view of the ranges. We would never have seen it, if we hadn't been looking for this cache. We continued up the track and came across the chasm. I couldn't work out where the track went. Do we go up? across? around?..."My gosh...We go down there????!!!!!" Not what I was expecting at all but it was so much fun to scramble down the gap. No wonder the baby carrier couldn't get down there. Thanks for bringing us to this spot.
Day trip up here today to visit rellies holidaying at lake Catani. Was glad to see this one on the radar during lunch and trekked up to get it straight after. Bit of a climb but great views if you go through the gap between the rocks. Found the cache and then back to the lake for a swim. sltn: l: snake + beetle. t4tc
On a cool wet January day, seven of us could not located this cache. The GPS was all over the place. Will be back.
Lovely walk and amazing gallery. We love Mt Buffalo and all its rock formations.
Thanks for the cache
Thanks for the cache
Quite a tricky find Agree that the coords are a little out Found both caches Why are there 2? Picked up an unlogged travel bug
Great walk definitely should complete the walk after finding the cache
Great walk definitely should complete the walk after finding the cache
What an adventure! Just loved this area. Driving back from the top of the mountain we saw a gallery walk which was 1.1k away from the cache and so initially thought it was the cache. Did a fantastic walk through the labyrinthine rocks which was fantastic so wasn't too disappointed when we realised we were at the wrong place. Looked for about 15 minutes when we got to gz at the correct spot and coudn't find the cache so decided to do the walk and then come back to look. Wow! What a walk/climb. I am giving this cache a favourite so that people will come and do the walk. At the end of the rock climb we realised that we weren't going to go back the same way....so then came the frustrating part. We bush bashed around the base of the rocks to get back to gz and then came a laborious search.....we weren't about to give up because we wanted to log a find so we could give the cache a favourite. EVENTUALLY about 45 minutes after looking the second time geohubbies clever eyes spotted the cache...Wackydo!!! We found it. Co-ords were about 25 metres out for us. We were looking lower down the hill, not up near the descent into the climb. We ended getting back to our car just as it was getting dark. Thanks Happy Chappies for placing the cache and bringing us here.
Visiting the area following the Oz Mega event in Albury with Wackydo. This was our final cache late in the day after some fantastic walking and views around the Mt Buffalo area. What a beautiful area that has eluded us for so long. The walk to this cache was again great but the search for the cache ended up a little frustrating. The GPS co-ords had us crawling over rocks and through tunnels and passages to the other side of the rocks with some fanstastic views and some rather precarious places with impressive drops. We narrowed the GPS position down to a little passage but decided then it didn't seem at all right given the Difficulty rating of 2!! So we ventured back to the path side of the large boulders and looked up the clue. This only helped to confirm our thought of where the cache may be. We spent a further 15 minutes looking but came up without any cache in hand. A fantastic continuation of the walk??? through the little canyons ensued and I would highly recommend continuing on with this walk as it is a lot of fun. Following the clambering part of the walk we decided not finding the cache and the walk deserved a more concerted effort. Back to GZ we went with sunset fast approaching. We searched high and low and then read previous logs to find some better GPS co-ords and comments indicating GZ was about 24 metres out. We didn't pace it out but either the GPS was out today or there is a large discrepancy in the co-ords. Given other comments about GPS bounce and subsequent DNFs I would suggest the co-ords may be out a little. Given this is only a 2 difficulty I must admit I am inclined to think the GPS should take you a little closer to the cache. Once we placed the co-ords of the earlier log into the GPS (this got us to within 10 metres and on the right level for the cache we soon had the cache in hand. Spent a further few minutes exploring the possibility of a second cache given the comments previously but decided the success of this one and the overall enjoyment of the walk was enough for us today.
Sorry for the long post but given our minor frustration with the co-ords or GPS it seemed worthwhile to give a little more insight to those venturing here to maybe have a better chance at success with the cache and to keep them on the right side of the boulders. For us both this ended up a favourite given the walk and cache location and a fantastic way of ending the day. Thanks for the cache Happy Chappies.

Had a 15 min look and no luck but what a great area I will be back with my climbing gear
After munching on our salad sandwiches near Echo Point we decided to check out Lake Catani and take the longer walk to the Galleries. Found the newer cache container at 2.30pm after quite an extensive/intensive search and a phone call to a previous finder. We did spend some time looking for the 2nd cache container, but it eluded us. We have had a great day wandering the nooks and crannies of a small part of Mt Buffalo. We found some friendly lizards to photograph and quite enjoyed our walk to the cache site among some late flowering wildflowers. We did not complete the walk all the way to the Galleries today, but were content to sit in the sun and SL and leave a fish and PT in the cache. TN except a few photographs and were happy to retrace our steps back to the GeoHilux. #1024 P.S. We can recommend the coffee and muffins at the Dingo Dell cafe! TFTC Happy Chappies
Found one of the caches after spotting a useful clue in an earlier log. Getting a GPS fix here is tricky at best. Signed log and headed home. TFTC.
found before camping the night and then walking out to mt mcleod to place another cache and camping there.looked for this one last year without luck. happy to find it this time, didn't spend too much time on the 2nd cache, just in case it was no longer there and happy to have found my 100th. cheers, happies.
No matter how much Mr & Mrs Suitman searched, we could not find it. No amount of clues, postulating, walking up and down steps, going in and out of cave like areas or consulting the wildly varying GPSr made any difference. We were not going to find it! Ahh well, we were having a good time, great weather, good company and on holidays! TFTC and the opprotunity to see an area I wouldn't normally find.
Went for a walk to the Horn on the way back stopped at the lake for lunch. Walked to this cache and continued on through the Gallery's. What a great spot. TNLN, TFTC. TFBB
Went for a walk from The Gorge to Lake Catani and found a track to The Galleries. Knew there was a cache nearby so GPS on and extend the walk (getting a bit hot by now). Wouldn't have found it without the hint but really enjoyed the locality. Might go on a diet and complete the loop walk through the galleries one day. Lucky I started from the end I did or I would not have gotten through! TFTC.
Found the little one (by Marcus V?) ok but absolutely couldnt find the 2nd one, even after a long lunch sitting on the rocks in the sun, and a bottle of wine!
This was our first geocaching adventure at Mt Buffalo and we had all the team together for this one. Finding this cache was quite difficult due to all the nooks and cranny's as well as the GPS being all over the place. At the beginning the GPS took us too far, however in doing so, it took us to a cool little climb down into a cavern and out the otherside, it was one of the highlights of our trip. When out the other side of the cavern, the GPS then took us back to the otherside. After spending about an hour looking for the cache and nearly abandoning it due to thinking that it had been stolen or miss placed, it was finally found by Lee-Anne. Although frustrating, the search for this cache was fun and rewarding. The second cache only took us a few minutes to find after putting our hands up under nearby rocks and feeling around for it. Signed both logs. TFTC

Yet another new experience for me in an area I'm pretty familiar with overall. I guess I never felt the need to explore places in the years I worked up here. By now we were beginning to feel the inclines after doing nearly every other cache in the area but still enjoyed the spot and another perspective on the valley views.
Thanks indeed Happy Chappies

At the end of a day's walking, our legs were starting to feel the steps up to the galleries.
We crawled thru the large rocks to the great views on the other side.
We came back to find one of the caches - that was enough for us today!
Thanks, Robmc.

After a tough day in the Mountain caching with Team Skullracing & 001, the question was asked........"Do you want to do one more".............Well you dont have to ask me twice, "In for a penny in for Pound".................lets "GET out & Play".
Well we got to GZ and the search was in full flight, after about 15 minutes of searching Lostmonster came up with 50% of the goods, the log was signed by all present, but we all knew that there was another cache just metres away and this one would count for nothing untill the other one was found and signed, so again the search was on, putting fingers and hands in all sorts of spots to find the mystery cache, Dad from Team Skullracing came up with the second hide, again we all signed the log knowing 100% the mission was complete. Both Caches found & signed..............now we can all get some sleep.
TNLNSL.............Cheers for a top hiding spot in a top part of the world.

Our last cache for the day, time to head home & rest the legs after a fair bit of walking, climbing & riding today.
Didn't continue searching for the 2nd cache, after the first was in hand. Quite funny though.
Nice views of the lake and a place we havent stopped by before, so many thanks Happy Chappies! A great spot. TNLN SL.

#966....On our arvo of caching with Lostmoster and 001 from Kiara001 - by this stage of the day we were all starting to feel the effects of the days activities and we hadn't done nearly as much as our travelling companions . The GeoPrincess had recently hiked this very track with the SPOOSH (vacation care) and was so excited, led us all the way to the GZ area. The GPSr's had us bouncing around a little but in the end the co-ords were pretty close. Kiara001 pointed Lostmonster to a likely spot and lo & behold the "small" replacement cache was extracted - soon after the original regular cache was located by Dad. As with previous finders we think it is hilarious that 2 caches exist here but we signed both logs anyway. TNLNSL TFTC Happy Chappies, another amazing place in the Mt Buffalo area [^]
Hilarious that there are two caches there in fact! Given the trickiness of this spot and the bad sat lock we'll happily accept logs in either cache that you find... and we'll get up there soon to check it out and decide which cache will continue!
Thanks Oakydog for the update and some clarification.

While camping @ lake Catania we walked up to the gallery's our third visit in as many years but first time caching.
After exploring the caves and crevices near by we turned our attention to finding the cache, after a brief search we found the cache. Upon reading the last log dated 8/5/10 by Bogong and the rest of the logs were dated 2008 we realized that this must be the original cache, then after another brief search we found another cache less than 1m from the original.
Signed both logs and took some photos will post them on our return home also noted co-ords out by 24mts
Cheers for the adventure
PS I wonder if we can this cache twice LOL
While camping @ lake Catania we walked up to the gallery's our third visit in as many years but first time caching.
After exploring the caves and crevices near by we turned our attention to finding the cache, after a brief search we found the cache. Upon reading the last log dated 8/5/10 by Bogong and the rest of the logs were dated 2008 we realized that this must be the original cache, then after another brief search we found another cache less than 1m from the original.

Had looked for this one previously only to read the log that it had been muggled. Saw that it has been replaced a while ago, so today with the sun shining it was the perfect day for a bike ride. As we knew the general area where the cache was located we didn't take the GPS after a bit of searching we found it in 5 mins. Thanks for bringing us back to such a beautiful location.

Drove up to the Mount Buffalo Chalet for the centenary birthday celebrations . Couldn't resist the short detour to the Galleries, to my amazement we found the cache fairly quickly.
The co ords posted in a previous log where closer to the mark. As always a great day on Buffalo.
Off to the 12 mile cache next.
Picked up 3 TBs

Hunted for quiet some time with geo family but to no avail, GPS was sending me close to cliff edge so didn't think that was quiet right. Thought I had it at one stage but came up with a vintage soda bottle instead, guess that was some consolation for the no find.
Spent some time looking for it, GPS got a weak signal within 40 m of GZ, the hint didn't help, all boulders there are huge!
Thanks for the great walk and views, The boys did the round trip and loved it,..........I wimped out and went back the way we went in.
Was a nice wander through the galleries, although tough to climb down the crack with a 5 year old (not required to find the cache, we just did this after). We made it though.
Just a little down from the cache there's a bit where you can walk through onto a ledge overlooking the valley. Was spectacular, check it out if you can.
I dropped off "Fluffy Ears", "GeoSergeant Two" and "Sausage Twin Two"

A nice walk through the forest that was a little challenging for me, although very happy to do it. We saw a few skins on the way up and once finally at the hiding spot, Marcus found a nice hiding spot for the cache and he, DJ Rascal and I all signed the log.
This park is such a nice place to visit and I'm happy I came up for the walk, thanks a lot for this one.

Found at 1050. Having noticed the recent DNF's and the subsequent archiving on this one, I knew I was going to be in the area today so got in contact with the owners to see if they would mind me replacing it for them. After a quick trip up to 'The Horn', DJ Rascal, Captain Brooks and I returned to find the nearby camping area with plenty of muggles spread throughout the vast area. Once we found a park, we headed off down the track to find the area in question. Armed with a photo of the area given to me by the owner, we found the spot and replaced the cache in the same spot and made sure to cover it appropriately, albeit under the watchful eye of a little skink sitting no more than a few inches from my face.
Whilst the cache is in the same location, we took some coords which may or may not help the next searchers, although these seemed to be only 5-7m off.
S 36 44.393 E 146 48.918.
A nice walk which I wasn't familiar with before hand, and was surprised to see how big and well set up the camping area was.
Thanks to the Happy Chappies for allowing us to replace and log the find.
Cheers.

Hard to believe that a cache would go missing from this spot.
With permission from the owner Marcus was able to replace the cache and we could all sign the log.
A nice day for a walk, and many large skinks were spotted along the way. The cache was placed and we made our way back to the car. For some reason I thought the walk to this cache was a lot longer than it was, not sure what gave me that impression, but was thankful it wasn't as it was getting quite humid amongst the bush.
TNLN, TFTC, Cheers.

A huge, heartfelt thanks to Marcus Vitruvius for the replacement. A wonderful early Christmas present for us...
Hopefully this one stays put!

Thanks to Derringer for checking up on this one.... They kindly sent me a photo of suspected GZ, and it seems they were looking in the right place.
So I guess, as much as it surprises me in such a location as this, it's gone missing.
We'll definitely replace it, so stay tuned

We join a long list of non finders for this cache.
We were armed with explicit directions from the cache holder to find this one.
Despite an hrs searching in cloud and rain - no luck - we believe it is MIA
A stunning area, well worth the visit in any weather conditions.
We completed the walk circuit which takes you through a magnificent slot in the boulders which involves some
minor scrambling.
We will return when a cache is in this area again

Wow. 4 (maybe 5) DNFs after I found this cache in November 2008.
I replaced the cache exactly as I found it. I have a fairly high-end GPSr but, as noted in my log, even it was giving some ridiculous readings for distances to the cache. However, the direction it gave was always correct. That might be a good foundation to work with when looking for this cache - pay more heed to the direction rather than distance, and start looking for likely hiding spots along that general area. It's a regular sized cache, and there aren't too many ways or places that you can hide such a cache and be reasonably sure that it won't be discovered by muggles.

After much poking around we gave up and climbed down the cavern, much to the fear of my fellow Pirate. If that wasn't bad enough on exiting we were met by loud claps of thunder that required us to make a decision. To continue the long way back and be hit by a storm or go back through the difficult gap. We chose to go back.
Thanks for giving us a reason to go there.

As CruiseKat said, it was a long hard search for this one, but unfortunately ultimately unsuccessful. I'm logging this one late, but 7 out of 11 no-finds surely makes this a 3-star for difficulty, and I'm guessing that the kind of person who comes to this location is usually a fairly experienced and intrepid geocacher. Wonderful views though.
We couldn't find it. We searched for a good hour and a half at 7 AM - completely muggle-free. Enjoyed the location a lot, and in particular the sunrise (standing on the big boulders at the other side of the gallery overlooking the valley). We looked everywhere and still weren't successful... Also climbed through the chasm which was another great adventure! Thanks for bringing us here!
Great walk taking a novice rock climber and made it thru, the gap in the rock. recommend the wearing of good shoes. I'll be back!!
Found at 11:30. Must have just missed out on catching up with speewah.
Hummed and hahed about doing this one after finding 'Feeling Horny' - the weather was extremely variable, and I was still very wet after being rained on earlier. However, I decided to wait round for a break as I only get down this way a few times a year.
Sure enough, out came the sun for a while, and a-trekking I went.
A quick and steamy walk up the trail. Things got interesting near GZ - the GPSr was steadfast about which direction to follow, but the distances it threw up seemed very theoretical indeed. Decided to trust my instincts and just follow the direction, and found the prize.
A nice place to visit. I could hear a party of hikers off in the distance, and saw about a dozen of them back at the campground.
Thanks Happy Chappies

On a wet rainy November day, troed to locate it but to no avail. The GPS signal was giving strange messages and the rocks were very wet and slippery so will try another day when the weather is better.
I enjoyed the short walk to GZ but, on my first attempt on the way up, I failed to find the cache. I didn't look too hard, then continued to the top and all the way down the chasm.
I then climbed back up the chasm (much easier than going down) and started searching again. I must have spent 20 minutes looking all around until I finally found it. No swap was made. Thanks for the walk and for the cache.

Looked and Looked with no find. Started to get freezing cold and not much sunshine so we bailed out...
Thanks for the trip though,.

Maybe we were a bit overenthusiastic trying to find this cache with the weather being so unkind.
We started out with a cool but sunny day at the bottom of the mountain. By the time we reached the top it had turned a bit (lot) colder and we were in the first decent dump of snow for the season.
Even though the ground was well and truly covered, we gave this one a try, but a decent search failed to find the cache. The GPSr didn't like the rocks and the best EPE was +-21m.
I wasn't too keen on digging around in 3inches of snow, so we gave up and headed back to a warm cuppa in Myrtleford.
We'll save this one for summer!

Beautiful area for a cache. Clouds floated by with the occassional threat of rain. Saw a lyre bird on the way up the track. We went for cover during one shower under the massive boulders and our youngest member ended up spotting the cache. He was very proud. T-happy face ball, left bouncy ball and basketball eraser. Thanks for the fun cache.
Our first first to find
Took us a little while to find as the signal was getting bounced around on the rocks, then had to wait for muggles visiting over the long weekend.
