Today, it was a very early start to kayak from Wynnum to Green Island as per the Community Celebration Event. Sea conditions were rough, but we managed to make the 5.6 km paddle to then enjoy the event, and it was easier to paddle back with the wind. Whilst on the south side with the kayak, THE GREEN GECKOS, Muggle65, E_Smiley and I then took another kayak paddle (although much shorter) from Cleveland to Cassim Island to see the Toondah wreck, which was an enjoyable and leisurely paddle amongst the mangroves.
Following a bite to eat, E_Smiley and I then targeted a few nearby oldies, before taking a walk around The Puzzling Trail. A very enjoyable walk and highly recommended; I managed to make a few more stops in the Capalaba area, before heading home.
I was driving home along this road, passing right by this archived geocache, so I thought I would take a quick stop and check on it. At least with these sort of geocaches, you get quick feedback to a yay or nay, and it looks like that Blacklegend's throwdown geocache container is no longer here. At least I knew the cache type (film canister) that I could almost certainly rule this geocache out from being present. Thanks anyway happyharries for the cache placement.

On our way home from a lovely day on coochie when Rusty85 looking at the GPS says hey there's a cache here, quickly pull over we check our phones no no cache hmmm maybe its an archive still in the GPS, we dodge the traffic, wait ages for traffic to thin then start our look, nice easy find, then to wait to retrieve for traffic to slow again, do the sign, wait to put back, time to cross the road not a car in sight, drive off still haven't seen another car:) TFTC
cache find # 1540. Had been to Cleveland for a day of geocaching, and this one was on our way home. Yay, finally a smiley face for us. Found easily this time. TFTC.
Out on the south side collecting a few archived caches.
Just one more for the drive home.
Stopped nearby and wandered over to GZ.
Searched in between traffic and soon made the find.
TNLNSL TFTC Thanks happyharries All good with this cache

I was driving past this one so even though it has been archived I knew it was still here so had to make the find. Timed the grab and return between passing traffic.
I still had this one in my phone from the last time I was up this way. I forgot to grab it and then it got archived so a quick pit stop today and I soon found the replacement.
TFTC happyharries and thanks for placing a new container blacklegend.

When I saw this one was disabled pending archiving, I was disappointed I would have to let it go. So was happy to see it had been replaced, Thank-you Blacklegend.
It took me a a little to find the cache, in it's new location, but not to long, on my way to the markets on Sunday morning.

Backed up the Saturday with another day walking with the kids. Had with me today, James again and also 5yo Marindah. We did 4 seperate bushwalks, picked up a few solved puzzles, and some great caches on the day. Saw a lot of wildlife, including 4 Goannas. I got stung by a very nasty Bull Dog ant and bitten by some sort of spider on the same ankle, and it still hurts over a day later. The pitfalls of caching. Still it was a fun day had by myself and the kids. Thanks to all cache owners for hiding and maintaining their caches.
-----------------------------------------------------------------
I hope no one minds, but I was sick of driving past this. I had a stack of spare containers in the car, so grabbed one and put it in. Cache maintenance compelte. To be honest, I don't mind replacing a few caches in the area. I find so many, my way of giving a bit of thanks back. Now some others who have not crossed it off the list, can enjoy the find.
It's now a film can in the guard rail end.

You can add OrionJ and I to the list of DNFs here!
This CO does not maintain caches
This CO does not maintain caches
I have noticed the CO is still logging in maybe they would like to check this one or Archive it?
Add me to the DNF list teamdfl (a previous finder) and I stopped on our way past, and today the cache is definitely not where she found it. The CO needs to check this one.
In the area doing caches nearby, so thought we might try our luck, but appears like previous logs that the cache is no longer there..
Even though we had read the previous logs as DNF's, we were doing caches nearby, so tried our luck. Didn't find the cache. It sure isn't there.
Sorry to say appears to be gone. Found #2 earlier so thought similar positioning however no good.
Managed to get one cache today on the way to our friends house.
Thanks to happyharries.

As a proud Redlands resident I love grabbing these Redlands caches. It's taken me a little while to get to this one because I always seem to pass through this beautiful location during busy periods.
But today, while I was on my way to my first orienteering race at a nearby bushland reserve I stopped the Suzuki geobike on the side of the road and scampered across the race track (well, road but some people seem to think it's a race track). The cache was lying out in the open near the GZ so I collected it, signed the log and rehid it where I think it came from (based on where the other Redlands caches are hidden).
The log has been saturated at some point but the paper has dried out and is totally usable.

Out and about today, going solo looking for smilies.
I had to park on the side of the raod and cross over to grab this one. Got to be quick with this one with the passing traffic.
Thanks for the cache. The cache is dry and OK.

Driving by with soninlaw...we just had to stop and grab.........got rasberries from son and mate who just happened to passby going the other way while signing. Log is dry enough to sign. thanks
Was nearby for a geokid activity so popped out to grab a few while over this way..... Alot of traffic for a Sunday so was having a tad of trouble searching do paf to check I was thinking right.... Found where I thought it would be eventually between very thick traffic.... Couldn't sign log as its still soggy and needs attention
As previously logged this one still has not have the log replaced and the paper is a wet soggy lump, needs replacing to be usable!
Found. Log just a wad of wet & unuceable paper. Nice spot. Pity about the traffic & litter. TFTC jumbucks 13 January 2012 5:40pm
I will drop by tomorrow with a replacement log & restow the old one safely in the same location TFTC jumbucks 13 January 2012 10:35pm
Quick find for me today.
Done the other similar ones so I knew what to look for.
Log was wet.

Found easily today while driving home from a days work in the area. Log was damp, but i easily managed to place my mark on the paper. This is the first one in the series for us. Thanks happyharries
Didn't even bother taking GPS with me for this one as GZ was obvious and co-ords are usually wrong for these ones anyway. Picked my time between traffic and grabbed the cache quickly and easily. As for that $20, I don't recall seeing it there. Was a beautiful spot here next to the dam, and hot enough today to make taking a dip tempting (despite obviously not being allowed). I wonder how many more of this series I have left to do? TFTC.
This is a pretty spot and there were people taking photos here when I arrived. There was even a pelican on the lake. I had to wait 5 minutes for the potographers to leave but it was a nice quick find.
The log was very damp but a couple of minutes on my warm dashboard have improved it. Thanks happyharries.

This one has been on my todo list, as We drive passed it every weekend! So Had to stop for a change and take in the view before looking...

TFTC. Unfortunately a lot of rubbish around GZ. Some people are truly disgusting.
Nice easy find find, Although alot of unsavoury stuff lying around the area. Great view of the lake. Took a few photos.

The nearby water was looking pretty good this arvo.
After finding a few of these caches previously, this one was pretty easy.

A quick find on a fairly quiet day on the road when I was there. A nice view from GZ that I have often driven past but never stopped. TFTC.
How co-incidental - our #4 find of the day of caching in the Redlands with Rhesusfactor. Quick find but hard to look inconspicuous on such a busy road. TFTC.
Quick find on this busy road. Getting back to the car was a little more difficult. Thanks happyharries
We didn't need the GPS for this one having done others in the series. Quick drive-by with great views.
Thanks for the cache

I knew where this one was without the GPSr - being familiar with the area. Finding the cache took a bit longer than expected - but located all good. Replaced it's baggie with a smaller, less torn effort. TFTC Happyharries
Found by Mary & David at 1735. After finding #2 earlier, we knew just where to look. Amazing silvery colours on the water. Our thanks again to happyharries.
After a long absence ruzzelz decided to return to the deep darkside. Before doing so I thought it best to check in at the border post.
Easy find made hard by the streams of cars coming past. I waited 10x longer than it took to find. TFTC
Easy find after completing another in the series a couple of months ago. I have been meaning to stop for this one for some time and today I finally made the effort whilst passing.

Found while out this afternoon with Mr & Mrs Ant24 and geobub, last one for the day! TFTC
Out this afternoon with Mrs Ant and Claire_geo, trying to pick up as many caches as possible before we ran out of light!!
This was the eleventh
Claire_geo quickly located this one, we signed the log and decided to call it a day.
Not a bad effort...11 caches in an afternoon!!

This was cache # 13 of 15 for the day, while the wife took the kids to dream world for the day, the cache was found at 1520. A nice drive by with a great piece of water nearby, I wondered how many times this water way comes over the road as it sure looked high. My thanks to happyharries for the cache.
Easy find after an afternoon having no luck looking for Redlands # 2.
Geokids had to do a bit of sneaking around to get this one in and out of it's hiding spot.

Recognised it only on second glance, after a bit of shuffling around, scratching my head.

Found at 0743. Found the GZ quickly had to look hard to locate it found it and then to extract it. Cache ok and dry. TFTC.
Saw that the cache was back in place and would have another go. We were coming back from the Gold Coast this evening and under the headlights, geoson went in and grabbed the cache. He likes these ones.

That's better, as the last two visits I couldn't see anything.
I guess it helps if there is a cache to find!!

Stopped the car right on top of it to block the search from view. Hunted around between cars going past. Looked around and under the sign. Even geoson couldn't see it. Lots of ants and spiders though. TFTH I hope it is still there, somewhere...
NOT entered into the book of LEDGIN 'S. Gosh this is a busy road even at 7am on a Sunday. Had a look around and under around GZ but no prize. Bugger.
Arrived at this one really early this morning and having done one similar thought it would be in the same spot. The co-ords put me on top of where I thought it should be but alas it wasn't to be for me.
Returning to the car to check the PDA I then found that I didn't have any details about this cache or any that I had planned for the day.
So I'll have to return another day!
Thanks for the hunt. Not a good way to start the day.
