Found at 5.45pm on the way home from a weekend away. Wasn't aware that this cache had been archived when we were planning for it - the pocket queries via GSAK didn't upload the latest info onto my Palm for some reason [?] Anyway as we were walking along we were asking ourselves if this cache was in accordance with the guidlines - I think it is just far enough away. Found at 2:15pm. Found on the way back hame from "Tank You". We had printed this one off a fair while ago and were unaware of the achiving status till we arrived home so we will try to log as the cache is still there and intact.

Thanks vector180 from D,H,S,K,H & A B-A. You may want to take a look at Embi's note regarding the cache.

Left a digimon. Took an octopus strap.

Hi,

While looking at caches listed in Victoria I noticed "power assisted" appears to be placed close to a railroad track. It is a Federal offense to place an object like a Geocache near an active rail line. A Geocacher has been arrested, jailed, had to go to court and paid a large fine for placing a cache near an active railroad line. The local bomb squad destroyed his cache. You can read more about it here: http://www.geocaching.com/seek/cache_details.aspx?ID=21328&log=y#322202

Pay attention to the May 5, 2002 log titled Hillwilly's Day In Court.

If this is an active line, even if it is only used infrequently, this cache must be moved or removed. This is covered in the guidelines and requirements to place a cache:
http://www.geocaching.com/articles/requirements.asp

If it is a rails to trails area, then the cache can be unarchived.

Please don't hesitate to respond with an explanation if it's been misjudged or after you've amended it to meet the guidelines.

Thanks,
embi

It was a foggy morning, and it was wet underfoot. However, it was an enjoyable walk along the railway line, and the cache gave up without a fight. Found at 1010. By the time I arrived back at the car the fog had lifted. [^]

Grumpy kids wanted to go and get mum and not do a damned cache after driving all the way from Adelaide the previous day. The dog was very exited and thoroughly enjoyed the easy walk.

The cache was found easily and then so were we by 2 locals - two enourmous Malmutes (or at least that what I thought they were) who came to check out Steve (the GeoLab) and us. They left just as quickly as they appeared and narrowly missed being run over by a train! As I was replacing the cache a guy on a motorbike rode past under the powerlines (not wearing a helmet) and a guy then started to lop a dead tree in his backyard with a chainsaw.

Quite an eventful 3 minutes at the cache eh?

Took a mini soccerball & left Tiny Toot TB & a car.

After one dead end street we found a way around that we could walk to the cache easily. Once there after dodging a few trains we found it. Nothing taken nothing left. Cache container is cracked. Temp fix, lotsa Gaffa. Ahh Gaffa tape.... is there anything it CAN'T do????

Nice job

Myself, Em_Eagle and a friend christine found this one.

Evil_Hitman and Myself, were joined by our friend Christine this evening.
My first attempt at navigating via a GPS, lead us down a few dead end roads.
But we figured it out, and had a gentle stroll.
Found it.
Evil_Hitman went mad with the gaffa, and off we headed.

Thanks Vector180

A nice easy find, but as luck would have it a train came along just as the cache was retrieved. I had enough warning to hid in some bushes and wait for it to pass.

Found at 9:50am, with Muzza and Kiwideb. I spotted this one without too much trouble, but the flies were a killer. We also had the fortune of seeing a couple of the iron horses.
Swapped a teddy bear for pot mat.

Alansan found the cache. Found at 0950am swapped a ball for a toy.
Saw two iron horses on our way back to the car. Thanks for the cache vector 180. My 5th of 9 caches for the day.

[Powered assisted by a Boost juice voucher, yes just a leisurely geocache on a day off (Kids away) I mean what else would one do with the kids away (clean?).
Mr.Coffee and wife found it today.
Thanks for the nice walk Vector180.
Taken boost juice voucher, left torch and small teddy bear, forgot coffee sachet.

Mon day a good way to lend a han, three hundred and eighty meters to go, via the central way to then park is the easiest.

Found after a very muddy walk. Parked in housing estate and was so busy looking at GPS I only noticed on the way back that I was trespassing. A good spot for a cache. Took crackers, left a voucher for a delicious free "Boost Juice" (no expiry date). Thanks Vector180.

Found on Team Crackers, Spook, Dongy, Rose and John. It was Roses 21st Birthday, so it was a birthday bonus for her. Found with no great difficulty decided to talk the longer walk as we didn't feel confortable jumping someones fence. Took star wars jigsaw puzzle, left pulling crackers. Thanks for the cache.

04-Oct-03
This cache does require a walk and is well hidden. I took a camera(toy) and left a walnut.

23-Aug-03
Oooh, a bit of a rough ride the last few hundred metres, but good training for the tandemn offroad skills. Took the Spotted Cow and left a Digimon

17-Aug-03
After some dog activities at KCC Park we headed here directly since it was nearby. The obvious road (dotted on the Melways) turned out to be pretty well impassible even for our 4WD Subaru. Drove through the new housing estates to the nearest location but were faced with a fence. Headed off walking anyway and found that the fence could be walked around. Got to the target and had a look around. The giant zapping twigs were singing to us due to the high wind. Found the cache in a few minutes at 14:30. It is a great location since no random walkers are likely to see it. There were no iron horses sighted in around one hour that we were in the area so we'd hate to be waiting to catch one. Took Phonie Hologram and left a Spotted Cow.

Staying in the local area with friends for the weekend, this seemed to be the only cache that wasn't a multi-step. Already introduced Robyn to caching a couple of weeks ago, but this time we took Roxy - another canine caching partner! Parked at a nearby sports oval (the station would have been too easy!) and soon made it to GZ. Only had to dodge two iron horses on our journey!

Cache was quickly found, I took a green frog and left a jigsaw and lunchbox cooler. Thanks Vector - I think we've got another caching team formed!

13-Jul-03
This was my second time of going caching with GeoJo, this time I took along my caching partner Roxy who enthusiastically joined in sniffing out the cache. Found it without too much of a problem. Took nothing and left nothing as I haven't got a caching stash together yet. Found an abandoned basketball on the way there for Roxy so everyone was happy! Made for a really enjoyable afternoon!

Good Friday, I thought I would share the joys of caching with some friends. So took 4 of them (2 adults, 2 children) plus myself to a local cache.
Walked from the level crossing (the idea of tresspassing was not appealing). But it was a nice afternoon.

Found the cache. Initially on the wrong side. That will tech me to read the screen better. Smile

Took the cloths line. Left a 'phonie' (hologram).

Found at 4.10pm by Russell, Glenda & Cameron. after a nice drive to the end of the road and parked under the giant zapping twigs. Took Stubby Holder and left a McDonalds plush toy.

Big Grin Tricked me. I thought it was in the other direction and the GPS was US. With a little encouragement from my boys we went for the walk. Lucky for me I did have boys as they did all the leg work and got the rewards of finding the cache.
They got to make the swap. Took the glow in the dark whale and left a Superman WB World stubby holder found in an abandoned car in Heyfield.

Found by Andrew, Brett and Liam.

Found this one easily after checking out the existence (or lack thereof) of Melbourne - - - A Kiwi Connection (RIP).

I don't mind jumping a fence, but trespassing on someone's property didn't interest me. After walking from the station, the yellow line mentioned pointed directly to it. I didn't take anything but left a Red Nose Day stuffed green frog.

Thanks for the cache.

Muzza

Found by Mary & David at 1015, on our way to visit family at Warragul for the weekend. We passed up the backyard fence approach for the walk from the station carpark. An 'iron horse' was just leaving as we set off, and we didn't encounter another until we were well on our way back from the cache (when we elected to study the outlook over the adjacent paddocks until it had passed). Once we arrived at GZ, finding the cache turned out to be quite easy, as there wasn't much foliage cover at all. Perhaps it was the winter season. We took a 'cold shoulder' pack and left a camping clothes line. Thanks to vector180.

This was my first cache find!!!. It was only a short distance from work (Dandenong) so I went at lunch time. I get 30 minutes for lunch and ended up 10 minutes late bacck....Oops! GPS sent me straight to it, didn't go over the fence. The cache was in good condition except for one thing which had water in it. The new container appears to be water tight as there was no water in the bottom of the container. Didn't take or leave anything as I didn't take anything with me to exchange.

P.S. The iron horse driver was watching as I filled in the log book.

Didn't know which house was Geocacher friendly so opted for the walk from station. Found the cache in a rather sad state of repair Sad, the lid is cracked and the container had quite a bit of water in it, needless to say the contents were all well water logged. We attemped to remove as much water as possible, but suspect that this cache will be pretty well worthless if the container is not changed soon. Due to the state of the log book we were unable to log our visit in it, and took and left nothing.

Drove around the general area, can't work out an easy way to get to the other, leave it for next time.

09-Mar-02
Found it after 5 mins of looking. Would have taken much longer had the clue not specified it was in undergrowth. I had hoped there was a walkway from the side street, but I wasn't going to walk through someones backyard so I had to walk. Good work.

Don’t think this one will go down as one of Victoria’s great cache locations. The cache container has seen better days and the lid has a split in it, but the contents where dry.

Found this one on the way home from work
The gps led us straight to it.
Took nothing and left nothing.

When we realised that we had to get off the road to be on the right track, the cache was soon found by the junior member of Team Frogger. We stayed for a while to truly appreciate the magnificence of the great Australian outdoors, just soaking up the tranquility.... oops, no, that was somewhere else ;o)
Exchanged the tyre shine for a frog, and continued our journey.

Nice fine sunny day. After the required walk, Josiah spotted it. Exchanged some Lip Balm/Sunscreen for a little game.

Found by Glenn, Andrew and Paul, after searching for about 30 seconds. Others have said the location is not all that scenic, but I don't know, I kind of like power lines, dry paddocks, and the hint of housing estates in the distance Smile. Took a few things and left a few more. There is a hole in the container letting water in, so we re-bagged everything, but cache owner, you really should come back and replace the whole container.

Contents were a bit wet when we found this so we emptied out the water and replaced the cache. Dodgy place with a bag of nappies spread all over the place. Good ol' Crannie. Cheers Andrew and Daniel BMB

Found this one easily with the clues provided.

A disappointing location in some ways; may have been preferable to choose somewhere more scenic, but certainly interesting in any case.

Found by Ray and Maya (Nomads) at 5:25PM on Sunday the 28th October 2001. It was our second attempt for this cache on the day, the first was called off on account of heavy rain and we were not inclined to walk the distance in those conditions, so we took a break and visited relatives in the area. Three hours later, in sunshine, we walked to the cache which was quite easy to find with the clues. We took a pack of four batteries and left a bottle of Armoral Tyre shine. We evicted the slaters and earwigs from the cache container before sealing it and returning it to its original position. The cache was dry inside despite the access for the critters. The next visitor might consider taking a pencil sharpner to swap as it could be useful in the future. Thanks Ray and Maya (Nomads)

This was a nice easy one for our first attempt. We found it at 9.30am on a cold and wet Sunday, and also learned to take spare socks and shoes. The kids claimed the water balloons and left a Cold Shoulder(neck cooler). We have definitely got the geobug, and even the kids are keen to find more.

Found at approx 3.25pm on a nice sunny Thursday afternoon. After driving up and down all the streets near this one trying to get closer we decided that 600m was as close as we were going to get without trespassing. The clues made it quite easy to find and we swapped some packets of tissues for the bike tyre repair kit. Greg and Bev

I'd just finished complaining to a fellow Geocacher that I've done all the caches near home when this one popped up within 4km of my house. This certainly doesn't rank amongst my top ten most scenic locations. It took a bit of rumaging around in the undergrowth to find the cache as it is completely hidden. My two year old son enjoyed watching the Iron Horses speed by. We took a CD and left a bicycle puncture repair kit.
Tony and John.
