I quite enjoyed this cache today. Fangsoki and I wound up in this park and of course we'd have a crack at this multi. We arrived at the posted co-ords and well, I do love these things and was pretty interested in reading about it and having a general all around look. With a little teamwork, we then got the final co-ords, entered them and set off.

It was a public holiday, thus lots of kids around nearby, but being such a great park, I can imagine why. At the final the options abounded. I began a methodical hunt here, Fangsoki was slower to get stuck in, but quickly jagged it and put his hand right on it. Good on him. We signed the log, all in good condition, replaced and set off.

As we left we walked past some odd looking trees. The sign said they are cacao trees! Wow, I'd never seen them before and was pretty intrigued, a nice bonus for me here today. TFTC Spinmeout : A favourite point from me.

Captain Terror and I were in Cairns for caching and decided to drop in on this one.

Nothing like a good old, rock solid multi to rely on for a find Smile Captain Terror and I set about collecting our clues. With answers sorted, we were off.

We theorised about where the cache might be but were both wrong. My GPSr pointed me exactly where it was. I found the cache safe and sound in good condition. A very interesting little multi. TFTC Spinmeout Smile

A nice quick multi while visiting from Townsville today.
Got the numbers no probs and had an idea where it might be on our walk in.
We were a bit out but found it right where the co-ords said it would be.
Thanks for the multi and the walk through the park.

Cheers and happy caching.

30-Dec-12
Arrived at Sugarworld today to play on the water slides with the geokids. With a new-ish cache available nearby, we thought we should find the new cache and replace the log in ours as well as check on its condition. Lucky we did as we found the cache had been discovered and trashed. The container was in the grass 5 metres from the hiding place.
We have replaced the logbook, but no pencil, so bring your own writing stick.
I guess we will see how it goes and if it continues to be muggled we will move its location.
Please report any DNF's.

Yay!! After reading logs and getting an extra hint or two hubby found it. Log still full but we found room to write on it. Lots fun.

Found cache after a brief search of the GZ with the help of the Geokids. Log book full, but found enough space for myself and the kids to sign. TFTC SL.

We will endeavour to replace the logbook as soon as possible.
With lots going on in our other life at the moment, we may be a week or so.
We will not disable at this stage, so keep looking for it.

Great find today, even with lots of people around. Enjoyed looking at everything and reading the info.

Well hidden and guarded by green ants. Good location

Monique and Jade are getting the hang of this geocaching thing so we threw in a multi to test the skill set. A combination of our three brains managed not to mess the puzzle up and the cache was soon in hand. The log book is quite full but future finders should check out the backs of some of the pages (recycle is good) for extra space.

#3 on our run. TFTC.

Found it! Gave us an excuse to have a look through the park as I had not really been here. Never new the loco was here that's for sure. The park is quite dry but looking up, i think it;s all about to change. Great Cache, great hide. The Log book is now full with no room for new entries. Sorry, didn't have another log on me to replace it with.

Only adult male in the park (lots of Mums with their kids), but wore my fleuro yellow tradesman's shirt and brandished my clip-board, so I felt I had complete immunity from anyone being curious about why I was "fondling" the big object at GZ. "Find by feel" leaves one with no choice but to look extremely silly, handling the goods so enthusiastically. LOL. TFTC Spinner.

A bit of nostalgia in this mutli-cache. As a kid I can remember playing on this very Hudswell Clarkes steam engine. With the new co-ordinates, the cache was quickly located and the log signed. Many thanks Spinmeout for another interesting cache.

Second find on this rainy day in CairnsWink. We had been meaning to do this one for a while but just never got around to it. Finally there was a break in the weather so we made a dash for it. Both of us had a fair idea where GZ might be, and were not disappointed. There were plenty of workers in the are but none of them seemed too interested in us being there.

Found this one with waynecarly today. Park was nice and quiet with the slides being closed. The only problem was there were a lot of workers wandering around, luckily not too close to gz though. It was interesting to read some of the history about the loco, I wander if it has the original paint job still? Doubtful. Took quite a while to find this one and almost gave up, but a final feel resulted in success. Was not thorough enough first time round. I think i shall come back in the future to take some photos of the resident peacocks as there was one wandering close by. Thanks for bringing me back here. Smile

04-Nov-10
Found this one with Chatmanais...no visitors at the park due to the slides being closed and upgraded but several workers wandering around the grounds in the distance. After solving the co-ordinates, looked (and felt around) for this cache for about 10 mins before Chatmanais re-tried a hole with success. Great place to visit again. TFTC.

Brahms6 Found this one. Enjoyed the clues and the gardens. A nice afternoon walk

This one just had to be found as we were already in the area finding another multi cache. A quick walk from the first cache site had as at the first waypoint for this one it was then just a matter of answering the few simple questions and the cache (and a few spiderwebs) was quickly in hand.

Thanks for showing us this wonderful spot.

Such a Cute little train for the kids. Thanks.

First one for the day with a fellow cacher. Kids loved deciphering the clues and loved looking for the cache. It took Mum to feel around that area though. Not many people around due to the rain so we could take our time. TFTC.

Just passing by to drop in the "Youngoldfella" GC into the cache. This GC started in Bribie Island, Qld in March this year, and its goal is to return to Australia so I am presuming it wants to leave Australia in the first place. Perhaps someone going overseas may be able to help it on its way.

09.45 - Interesting puzzle. Progress interrupted several times by heavy rain. Never mind, nobody around so had all the time in the world in this peaceful environment. Do not like putting my hand in places where I cannot see the size of the spiders or other creepy crawlies. Eventually overcame that challenge and grabbed container swiftly. T4TC.

We love these sort of caches where you have an interesting location and a heap of history as well. After collecting all the required info we headed off to gz for a nice easy find
Thanks spinmeout for the cache

Had looked for this one previously without success so we took the opportunity to have another look today. Located the cache in a location that did not seem to match its clue but a find is a find Smile

Nice and easy multi. Ants had taken up residence in container though. I cleaned them and their eggs out as best i could.

Alone in the park by a wet day.

Spotted a few wasp nests, so didn't want to find the container blindly, but it is possible to see it in position.

This one took us two goes to get this one. The first day there was rain and a gardener, not that I am using this as an excuse for not finding the cache. After having a chat with the owner we went back today and had a better look, minus the gardener and the rain, and found it. SL TFTC

Nice easy offset cache made hard by a few hundred muggles attending some tree climbing championship near GZ.

Hi all, Danielc's group found this one after enjoying morning tea in this very beautiful park. It is just as well we were not still tonguing for a cuppa as the search for this one nearly did send us loco. It is just as well there were not too many non-participants about either as they would have been sure we were loco as we looked and probed for about ten minutes before Danielc spotted it, or rather felt it. Next time, I really am going to take gloves.
Cheers, and Good Hunting! Dan.

Found on a visit to do some maintenance on my cache in the same gardens. I knew I was on the right track due to the clues, but finding the little container took a bit of determination. Apologies to the spiders who had their webs trashed!

Yep, the cute muggle dog was very well behaved and never gave the game away at all!

Well hidden cache with no risk of getting wet. Our activities were done under the watchful eye of a really cute muggle dog.
Didn't give the game away and we are sure he just wanted to play.
