Hide is now almost inaccessible due to growth of the tree. Also has been used for dumping rubbish. Time to say goodbye to an old friend
We used sticks and had a good poke in what we are fairly sure was the right tree but no luck finding the cache. Found only sanitary products, grrrrrr freedom campers and unthoughful litterers
After previous log we will disable this one until we can check it out and clean it up or archive it.
Quite a tight squeeze so had to use a usefull tool, that we carry in the Cachemobile. It would have been a nice spot for Jessie ^..^ to have a paddle, but we were on a mission to pick up quite a few Caches in and around Hamner..TFTH
Definately need a slim arm ... we used sticks thankfully. Pencil tip is broken so take a sharpener or a pen. Log is nearly full. TYFTC
Found with StreetWalkerNZ en route to Hanmer Springs (via Waiau) for the weekend.
Several hours after leaving Christchurch, Hanmer is finally within striking distance! But first a wee side trip down a rather pot holed road to do some dog paddling. GPsr lead us on a merry dance going from one tree to another. We discounted what turned out to be the hiding place because of the narrow access. No way I could reach it, but SW managed to winkle it out of its hiding place. Maybe there should be a "skinny arms" attribute ? TFTC.

#14393. I initially discounted the hiding place at first as the opening looked too narrow. After striking out elsewhere, I shone the phone's torch into the opening and spotted something. Extracting it was a bit of an effort, but I got there in the end. TFTC.
Away for a few days holiday during the school break. After a couple days in Westport and then Richmond for a couple days...a bit of a family catch up. Not much time for caching - family nitter natter and letting the wee dudes play with the cousins! Heading for Hamner for a night before home (CHCH)...Quick find and sign before heading into Hamner to find out hut for the night & some tea. Cheers.
That was a squeeze that resulted in some DNA being left behind. As we were leaving two lots of muggles arived - that is what we call perfect timing tftc
Such a nice spot here! I got a day-off and used it to discover this area by bike. Stopped here for an hour and enjoyed the silence, the sound of the water and the day. TFTC
On my way from Christchurch to Hanmer Springs, I tried to find some caches along the way. Almost at my destination, but just a little early, I drove down to this one. No one told me that besides the owls and the cache there's also a wire living in this tree, which I found out just after I lifted the stash and bruised my arm a wee bit. But thanks for hiding, anyway!
Grabbed this as we head in to Hanmer for the night then home to Blenheim via the Molesworth road...tftc
on our holiday trip through new zealand we are picking op some caches.
this is one of them. thanks a lot for making us enjoy our hobby, even far away.

Parked up in tree shade. No dogs today but three girls drove up dipped their feet then moved down stream. Tftc
We couldn't resist stopping to get a few caches this morning to get the first log of the year! Nice and easy find thanks for the hide!
Cache Number 7 on Team Walker's epic adventure from Blenheim to Bluff and back. After the long haul through from Murchison we were desperate for a kid friendly place for a break. Mrs W searched the Geocaching map and bingo! Thank you for bringing us here.
The cache hidden at this place was also visited today, as i was driving to Blenheim on my vacation in your amazing country. The place for the cache is nice and well picked, after a short search i was able to find and log it. The log needs a replacement, will do a NM log for that.
My gratitude to the owner for putting this cache out here and for keeping it alive and well

Thought this was a day that I needed two caches for a four a day challenge. Only problem was got my dates mixed up and they aren't necessary for another couple of days. So went caching by torchlight for no particular reason... oh dash, oh bother...never mind had fun anyway. MacPacDad's find. Going to give a favourite as I spent a lot of years being known as Ruru (owl) and thought some effort had gone not to lose the cache down the hole.
A lovely day spent in Hanmer, grabbing a couple of caches on the way. This is a nice spot. The kids weren't keen for a dip, a little chilly mid winter. Tftc.
On the way out of Hanmer Springs on the way to Christchurch to fly back to Aus. Nice spot and puddles all iced over this morning. TFTC.
Went on a big adventure with Wafflekitties and geo pups, had a blast thanks for the memories! TFTC.
Found while on holiday in the South Island with LCBuilder and our two geodogs. We spent 3 weeks travelling down the east coast and then up the west coast, moving to a different campsite each night. We got a few geocaches along our way; our best day was 41 and our worst was 6 we saw a lot of awesome sights and will definitely have to come back one day!
We arrived at the rest stop but there were a couple workers in their van right at GZ so had to wait awhile for them to leave. Lucky it was nice place to let the dogs have a wonder around. TFTC!

Super tricky find. Look for the thing that's been put there to help you pull it up
Cache checked and all good to go. We have added something to assist in the removal of the cache, please make sure it is well hidden again when returning the cache.
No doggie paddling today, we don't own one. When the cache was pulled out it had no lid or log.
Further reaching found both. Put back in one piece again. Thanks.

I'm glad mrs abxt350 was with me. Difficulty rating should be higher as I could not get to it even though I'm fairly thin. Cheers for the cache
On a mission as support crew to support my whitewater-rafting workmates as they head to, onto and off the Waiau river with just an inflated pece of rubber and expert guides to assist them. My part of the journey is to travel down to Hanmer Springs by van, overnight, then off to the river the following afternoon to collect the team and bring them home. Sounds simple enough, you'd think.
Unfactored was that the clutch on my van would have a hissy fit and dump some of it's fluid and produce a burning overheating smell along with loss of power as soon as I got onto the Inland Kaikoura route. Nursed it all the way to Hanmer and it got as far as the Hundalees before being towed back yesterday evening. Quite the adventure. In between that though.....there was some caching. Of course.
Onto the Hamner home straight and stopped off here for a quick reach and grab. Glad we're not in Aussie!

Quick park and grab on our way back to our hotel. Not quick enough though as the phone then ran out of battery trying to find the next one. Log a bit damp but still use able. Tftc.
Too woot a hoo! This cache has been a green blot on the landscape ever since I started caching not long after its placement. At that time I drove up and down here several times a year to visit my parents but never turned off because I always thought I'd make it to Hanmer way before now. Very very pleased to finally have a smilie on this cache at long last. Nice spot down here too. TFTC #8273
What a fantastic spot!
Enjoying an Autumn picnic. Looks like it would be good for swimming for little kids in summer

Found with michaela Algar today. Love this spot. Swim here regularly in summer.
Zara and I teamed up with the Seagnoid for an adventure to the Molesworth, Hanmer back to Blenheim, for the weekend.Spent the night at NZMCA park outside Hanmer in Zara and walked to this first thing on Sunday morning. Lovely sunrise over the river. Cheers
A friend of mine has just bought a motor home, and although TaybeeDragon has been a geocacher for a few years, she has done very few caches, so... how about Molesworth? Friday evening to Molesworth Station, Saturday to Hanmer, Sunday back home to Blenheim.
Spent last night in the nearby motorhome park and so walked to here. I found the cache but could not retrieve it, nut TBD had the physique for the job. Hey! Nearby loo! Excellent!

A very quick grab while waiting for the tanker to fill up while attending the fire. Thanks.
Found it while out on a walk after tea. Lots of owl holes in the reserve.TFTC
Just thought I'd better check and see if a cache is hidden here - and BOOM! Second find for 2916. TFTC.
Great spot. We have no dogs but family had fun playing in the river. We will return when passing again. Thanks for sharing.
A little tricky to spot the way in, but once we did we had the place to ourselves.

Camping for a few days nearby in Hanmer. Today is a very hot day so came here to avoid the heat and crowds.... and to give the kids a great place to play by the river. We found a nice spot under the trees and of course there is a cache nearby.
Kids with us were the first to grab - so I dropped a GEO Kids TB in it...

Definately a Nice spot for the dog.
Pity he was in the kennels for the weekend. Actually felt a little guilty after being here. He would have been in doggie heaven.

Heading home from our Hanmer mission, lost count of how many we've logged this weekend! Cool hide, not all willing to hunt for that one tftc!
Headed to GZ without the GPSr and quickly figured we were in the wrong place. Got the GPSr and that did take us to GZ where it was a quick find. Log was out of container and a bit damp - signed and returned to container. Thanks for the placement - first Hanmer cache.
Love this cache! After finding and signing the cache I waved my hand through the cool, relieving river on a hot spring day! Found with Busy Paws.
TFTC!

A good find with alwaysfishy57 and the Potts kids. With the extra of finding a wild honey bee hive in a tree!
Yay! A fun find with alwaysfishy57 and alexhkiwi. On the way we saw a wild bees nest complete with a honeycomb!!!!!!!!! Wow. Thanks for the cache. Nice find and a nice spot.
We had a lovely swim at Hanmer and we were heading home. We made a few stops on the way out of town. I haven't stopped by this reserve for about 22 years. I stopped by here with my mum and sister for a picnic soo many moons ago. We parked near GZ and made a quick find. The river was up with all the warm weather and snow melt.
Thanks for the cache.

Found on a road trip to Richmond and Nelson from the deep dark South of Dunedin.
Having a great time hunting down caches in a load of different places.
Thanks for your efforts in hiding your caches.
