WA Big Trip Winter 2024. Day 5 - Morgan area day. I have been looking at the caches around Morgan each time I was to the south on the Stuart Highway. I decided this trip would be a good time to spend a day and do what caches I could in the area. I wanted a ferry ride, so I went over the Morgan ferry for two caches the other side of the river and back via the Cadell ferry. Great to see them both in action. Next were caches to the West of town. A few singles, my favorite of the day was the Eba Siding. I was able to do all the Tour Down under caches and then head to the remaining Tour de France caches before heading back to camp for a late lunch. It did not take at all as long as I feared it would.I can't say I saw pelicans on this stretch of river today, but it is always good to stop for a cache. Thanks for the cache SA_ParrotHead46407.2 TNLNVisited: World Traveling Gold GC A#6 & 2013 13000 Finds A#277**Albida**
Today, I hope to see the culmination of my trip to this part of the world. I'm on my way south from Morgan to Blanchetown to search for all the challenge caches as I travel back north, collecting them from the left-hand side of that road. I had no intention of caching my way south, but despite my good intentions, I did become sidetracked and stopped for a couple of caches, including this one. I had actually stopped here for some photos and carried on for about 5 km before I realised that there was a cache here . Luckily, it was a quick find here and the log now carries my name. TFTC

TFTC and the view!
Beautiful views not far from GZ! I enjoyed the views while waiting for muggle truckies to move away from the parking bay.

Owl had an unexpectedly free day and managed to persuade JJ52 to accompany her to a secret proposed Ad lab location for research. Of course, this meant caching, coffee and some unexpected encounters along the way. Having achieved all the goals for the day they were free to slowly make their way home. The view from the top was stunning and was admired before the cache was found. The container had a broken lid so a new shiny cache was produced from the Owlmobile to replace it.
Doctor Owl had suggested a spur of the moment caching trip as she wanted to suss out a new AL and asked if I wanted to join her for the day. We had a lovely drive in the country grabbing a few caches along the way, meeting up with some friends and generally enjoying the outdoors. [^]
Found the cache quickly but the lid was broken so owl found a new one in the car and all contents were transferred to the new container. Spent a while admiring the view and taking a few photos before we headed off. No pelicans spotted today.
Thanks for the cache SA_ParrotHead.

After staying with relatives overnight on the river we continued our caching journey around the Riverland. Luckily yesterday’s rain has passed making for an enjoyable exploration of uncharted areas.
Thanks SA_ParrotHead for the placement.

Moving from Adelaide to Brisbane, jesswrigley and I decided to drive the long distance to make the opportunity a holiday, taking 12 days and passing through Victoria, New South Wales, and then finally arriving in Queensland. We spent the first few days in SA's Riverland, visiting Morgan, Berri and Renmark; and then drove through Mildura in Victoria. In NSW, we stopped at Hay, Parkes, Merriwa, Tamworth, Port Macquarie, and Coffs Harbour, and then entered Qld to stop for a night in Robina in the Gold Coast.
Today, jesswrigley and I departed Morgan after a hot breakfast, and we proceeded south finding a few targeted *Tour de France* series geocaches, before then crossing the Murray River at Blanchetown. We then proceeded up the eastern Murray River bank passing through Murbko, before crossing once again and driving along the northern bank. We then stopped for a late lunch at Waikerie after making another river crossing (by ferry this time), and then made our way east along the Sturt Highway to Barmera. It was a chance to see a few sights in Barmera and complete the *A Bonney Stroll* Adventure Lab. Finally, we made a dash through Monash topping to see the adventure playground, and then arrived in Berri for the night.
No pelicans around here for us today, but we did find the cache reasonably quickly. The logbook was in good shape, but the container lid was cracked, so a CO maintenance visit is probably required here. Nice views of the mighty Murray River from this location though. Thanks SA_ParrotHead for the cache placement and ongoing maintenance.
Note that this geocache was logged with the *Team Warren* Davidwazza/jesswrigley stamp.

Found! Stopped on our way from another cach find. Nice little spot to get out the car. Little cach trooper got excited when he found it.
Found while on my 5 Days caching run from my Blanchetown base. Today I tackled the area to the North East of Blanchetown, taking in Morgan and Waikerie. Another quick find luckily the fog dose effect search. TFTC.
A "short" drive up the road with Sebastbat today.
Another parrot cache? No, another pelican cache!
After seeing some overhead, we looked down and saw one by the river too.
A popular place for cars to pull over it seems.
Thanks for this one SA_ParrotHead

I collected Alternika from her abode and then drove down and collected mogni from her Easter Weekend digs. Then off to the Golden Arches for Coffee where we met up with AnyMules. [^] All aboard the Morgan Express for hopefully Lunch! (except maybe one of two stops in between.
Okay so we made it to Truro for lunch. Maybe we might make Morgan by dinner time
APC hey. Another Pelican Cache. A ParrotHead Cache. then there was......Better stop there as it is a family game. Needless to say we were getting tired and still hadn't made it to our destination. Luckily it was a reasonably quick find with powerful torch beams illuminating the shrubs.
Thanks SA ParrotHead for the placement

Found while out for a day of caching with Brisal5, Mogni and alternicka.
One of the smallest "regular" Sized caches I've ever found. But lovely views make up for that small issue.
Thanks for the cache Nibs. Found on 14 Apr 2017 at 6:20 pm. Find #4533.

#6350 - 14:00; Day 4 of the Alice Mega Road Trip with Sol de lune. We are now headed from Barmera to Burra via Overland Corner, Waikerie, Blanchetown and Morgan plus a few other smaller towns. After starting the day by collecting a few caches along the shores of Lake Bonney, then picked up caches in Waikerie and through to Blanchetown. We were now headed to Morgan, but taking the road with more caches to get us there. Stopped to collect this one along the way and enjoyed the view while we did. TFTC SA ParrotHead

Found this one during our month long tour of SE Australia. It is our intention to find as many caches as possible during our stay and as a result logistics dictate that this generic log will have to suffice .Hope the cache owners, to whom we extend our gratitude for their efforts, will all understand the reasons for this. All good wishes from us both.

Found at 3:58 PM GAFF1 in the company Robmc and BB#. We have lots of pelicans where we live - it nearly is a symbol for our town!
Thanks SA_ParrotHead.
Thanks SA_ParrotHead.
# 5456. Robmc and I are in SA to tackle a few of the many Series and others along the way. We have now been joined by pprass to join in the adventures. This morning we have done the Fruit Loop Series and now we are finding several more as we wend our way back to Waikerie.
There certainly was a lovely view up the river from here. Unfortunately there was no sign of my favourite birds - the pelicans - today! Would have been nice to see a houseboat cruising towards us but the river was bare today.
Thanks SA_ParrotHead

A busy day with BettyBoo3747 and half of Pprass. In the morning we tackled the Fruit Loop series, and then we filled in the afternoon with caches on the way back to Waikerie.
No pelicans today, they were all down at Lock 1 fishing!
Nice view from here though.
