*** draft log for stats tracking, more later ***GC1AN23 Ern (Foxhill@Nelson/Marlborough)Traditional Regular29 Nov 2024T13:34:59 NZDTTFTC beltfamilyNelson on Sale: Im utilising a cheap flight for a day of progressing assorted caching goals.Nice to visit another memorial. A quick shove and find
If anyone can pop in a new log on their way past, we'd appreciate it. We're a decent plane ride and/or a ferry ride away these days so we aren't able to refresh this one. Thank you.
Thanks for the reports about the log being full. We are no longer local to this cache, so if someone could kindly place a fresh log into the cache we will be grateful. We are paying it forward by maintaining caches for others at our current location.
Self explanatory really. I have been meaning to get this one. Gathering a couple of caches in the area and decided today as it. TFTC
No chance of muggles watching me I'm the action. Cache in great order. TFTC
Out for a morning bike ride and grabbing a few caches. A quick nip in and sign. Thanks for the cache.
I tried to figure the easiest way to GZ, but then just plowed through and made the find. TFTC.
Caches like this is when you realize you need to lose weight! Lovely cache full of goodies. Sad we didn't have the $100 bill to celebrate this spot. TFTC
Mr geodatum has been enjoying some time with family in and around Nelson. He has managed to fit in a little geocaching here and there mainly focusing on special kinds of caches like Virtuals and Earthcaches. It's been nice he's been accompanied by family members, often including geocacher grandson FGLNZ.
We stopped for this cache on the way to the Linwood Lookout today, such a beautiful day to be heading into the hills. We have previously visited the Virtual "Monument". Rutherford's story is an interesting one and it never hurts to be reminded of realisation of positive human potential.
It's good to see a cache of this regular size, as they are not so regular to find now. There were no problems with it. Thanks for the placement beltfamily.

A great day out caching with Missnboys. Clue lead us straight to GZ and after a bit of feeling around got it. TFTC
Hey thers a little green box just up the road. Managed to get TS to stop . Im reading the signs while TS and TaybeeNZ snag and tag this one. Cheers
Its a geo adventure to Nelson with The Seagnoid and TaybeeNZ, who is visiting me for the weekend. The Seagnoid is working on his railway series but always time for a couple of extra stops.

I recently went to the Rutherford exhibition in Christchurch so interesting to identify where he went to school. TFTC
Another facinating stop on today's history trail. Thanks very much for getting me to stop, and TFTC!
Found on way back to Nelson. Driven past a few times and noticed theres a cache here. Clear today. TFTC
Paddle chick and I were heading home from Tapawera and stopped to get this cache. Took a bit longer than it should have thanks to paddle chick who come to my rescue I also left trackable .Thanks for this cache Beltfamily
Found on the way from Spooners to Wai-iti. Capperz pointed out there was a cache here. I wasn’t really navigating as I had the wheel, but he had remembered it as a quick park and grab so we pulled in. No issues here, TFTC beltfamily.
Today was a trip to the Tasman region with Capperz; a second crack at a trip we aborted a few weeks back. A 7am start for us, the main goal was Spooners tunnel and a few newer caches on the cycleway there. After that enjoyable there-and-back trip we stopped off at Wai-iti domain and unleashed the bikes again for a climb up the nearby forestry road. An interesting trip as my bike could only get the lowest gear if I got off and moved the chain myself, which meant it mostly stayed there; while Capperz struggled with breaking on the downhill bits. I think that was the more threatening issue, to be fair. But after we safely completed that loop there were some park and grabs around back roads, side tracks and forestry roads and a brisk walk to a lonely-ish cache on a nice little conservation walking track before we decided that was enough for the day and it was off home. An enjoyable day, just the one DNF I think, the weather was not warm but thankfully held off being rubbish, which it had threatened to do in parts. Thanks to all the COs for placing and maintaining your caches!

A quick find with Tregearp to start a streak of 10 days consecutive caching we need for a challenge. Log was full so added a new supplementary log sheet. Thanks for another cache beltfamily.
SJT_NZ and I were scoping out some ER history so grabbed this on the way back home, cache all nice and dry but log book full so have put a couple of logs in for the next loggers, TFTC a nice bit of history and good hide.
Stopping by to check on TB.
Cache found out in open - but safe. Replaced where it should have been.

Today we made a trip to Lake Rotoroa. Very nice landscape, unfortunately also some rain was on the way. At the lake etaws could be bathed until the biting flies annoyed us a bit. The way back to Nelson was Cacher time again. Several simple and nice caches were on the way, sorry for the standard log. It becomes more individual again when the www is more stable on the road. Now we'll make a ratatouille.

Had dropped son off to paintball out this way so took in some caches on homeward journey. Love caches like this when you don't need to worry about muggles watching. TFTC
Over in Nelson visiting a cousin and thought a long way drive home would be nice.... An easy pull off area and nicely hidden from passing cars.

As we were passing and on the correct side of the road, we decided it would be a good time to stop for this cache. Hubby made a quick find but had to wait until a vehicle had gone before appearing in the open with the cache. Signed and replaced.
Cache found by DD after counting and counting as per hint! Another 'we wouldn't have known about...' situation if it weren't for geocaching! A very clever man was your Ern! DD also swapped trackables here. Many thanks
Travelling around the world with Dartmoor Deliverer to help her celebrate taking early retirement!
NB Dont forget our Devon UK Mega 2017 GC6JZNY this August in the beautiful East Devon area of our county. UK Megas are over one week full of events and geocaching - a wonderful way to enjoy our county!

Red Roaming and I are travelling around the world and spending several weeks here in New Zealand. We have just spent last night in a lovely farm hostel, now we are on the way to Nelson. Loving the scenery and the interest places we've seen. Logs signed DD and RR or with our full caching names. soon found. MTFTC

What a perfect possie for a cache...warm and dry year round excellent parking. Dropped off our little snake traveller to get on with his journey...tftc
A quick find here on our way to Greymouth. We find it interesting the number of different caches all relating to Lord Rutherford.
+ a marble, - nothing.

Thanks to the hint, we found this one quickly and didn't arouse too many suspicions from a man selling some fresh garden produce nearby. Organic lemons can be recommended! TFTC.
Thanks to the hint we managed to retrieve the cache. Well hidden, dry and clean, thanks for placing it. I also learned about Mr. Rutherford
We're having a bit of a Rutherford day, this was the 4th cache we have found in his honour. Cache soon found as described, signed, GC swapped for TB and then carefully replaced. Thanks for showing us this.
On our way to Westport, we came along this cache.
Together with Cache-Chriss and RuhigBrauner I found this one quickly.

Today was the day we wanted to crank up some numbers so we went caching for 'park and Grabs'. It was a lovely day and we started in Wakefield before heading south and then back north. This was the cache No 1. Thanks to all the cache owners who made this a special day.
Found it with Team FIN [janahola, kapeka, laalaa & temyllyl]
We had fun with caching few weeks here in New Zealand. Lots of geocaches and many sort of them too. We saw awesome places, weather was pretty good all the time and people were friendly and polite. Caches were pretty similar like in our home country. Of course there were some exeptions. Nice and really scenary country!
