We enjoyed collecting the clues and discovering the history of the area but although we searched high and low in very snakey territory didn't come up with the goods. Thanks for the cache anyway.
Found in the pouring rain this morning, after collecting the clues previously. The co-ords are well out and need to be updated. The spots on the way are interesting, and though staying nearby I had missed the Maiden Inn for example, which is amazing. So it's a good cache, but please update the final co-ords, as I made the location as 40m out. The worst bit of it is that at GZ there are several obvious cache hiding spots, so you spend time searching around them rather than looking further afield. Great cache apart from this though.
Found with nirgalagrin... now I have my own account.

Working east from the Long Paddock, the kids helped work the various clues, and we parked just before the road to GZ started looking dodgy, giving us a nice couple of hundred metres of exercise.
After a fairly quick look in all of the possible hides at GZ, I thought I'd check for hints and read a few logs. Oh...
Looking further afield, daughter number one came up with the goods in a classic hiding spot.
Thanks for the history lesson and the perfect multi for the kids to help solve.

We gathered the required information quickly at all the waypoints. Nearly saw a major accident between a taxi and a crazed lancer driver on the way to GZ. At GZ we were pretty much in full view of the camping muggles in the paddock next door, however then we realised coords were a bit out, so after taking the 30m advice we found the cache. Thanks for the interesting history lesson.
TC found this one too proving to be a natural at geo caching milkncookie outties
Worked out the clues in the rain then headed off to gz. Found a very traditional looking hiding place with some traditional looking cover on an ammo sized hole but no luck.
Kept looking for 45mins in the area but eventually called it a day.
Thanks for a nice walk regardless

Wait no...
Read some more logs (well peta did) saying that 30m away might be a go, turns out that is good advice.

Loved the history lesson.
Unfortunately our GPS decided that the best route to GZ was back over the river!! Corrected our mistake and found it although it did take some searching due to the meandering signals.

Great history lesson. We've been coming to Moama for years but had no idea the original settlement was to the east of the current bridge. One of the great things about geocaching is the places you go and things you learn whilst doing a cache.
You were right about the wandering GPS signal. Ours had us 30 metres away by the time we found the cache. RFTC TN left golf ball

Hoped to get this yesterday and although I got all the clues, by the time I got to GZ it started pouring so I postponed my search. However with fine weather this morning, I was able to have a good search of the area and found the cache. This was a very interesting cache as I had no idea that Moama started off some distance from todays town and so long ago. Thanks cdmark and cheers.
Caching around Moama/Echuca while others gone on cruise along the river murray.

Found by Roma and Max.
We always enjoy your multis and this was no exception, very well researched, informative and it seems to us not many hiders go to the trouble to create such memorable events nowadays!
Thank you cdmark, we thoroughly enjoyed this experience.

Found with aussie fun seakers great day out Took little fella left a peg TFTC
Like someone previously has said cache was some 30 metres from GZ unless I messed up but I was pretty sure we had the answers correct but who knows loved doing this cache Took whistle left a bear TFTC
Thanks Cdmark, we missed it by THAT MUCH the first time, shows we didn't read the clues properly. Found the cache with daughter inlaw.
Out on a days caching with the family in the Echuca area. One of 11 found for the day. Drove around and learnt heaps doing this cache. My wife Nicole loved the info as well. Once at GZ, although i was sure i had the coords correct, i found myself about 30m from the cache. I may have stuffed the numbers somewhere along the line. Anyway, made the find, and that was important as well. TFTC.
Finally!! Didn't get interrupted by muggles this time. One of the best caches we've seen. TNLN TFTC
In the company of Eureka Gold, we set off, albeit very slowly to obtain all the information along the way.
What could have taken 20 minutes turned into 2 hours, as we could not leave the winery (Military Madness) too early.
We had lunch there, sampled several wines, and then purchase several bottles.
After doing the calculation, and explaining to the host of the Winery about Geocaching, we set off to seek out the cache.
We saw alot of water skiers and wave boarders on the River Murray near GZ. The search was on, but we came away empty handed.
Due to the recent flood damage in the immediate vicinity of GZ, we think that the cache has either been washed away, or buried under debris.
Thank you for the very interesting and well put together multi.
We hope this cache has survived and we hope to log this one in the future. [8D}

We were in Echuca/Moama for a non-caching get together but managed to convince our muggle sister and brother-in-law that the best thing to do to fill in a spare hour was a multi cache which would give us all a great insight into the fascinating history of the northern side of the river.
Unfortunately when we got within a few hundred meters of gz we were stopped by some remnant ponds from the recent heavy rain and their keenness didn’t extend to walking through high grass in mid spring with it's potential for an encounter with critters of the fanged variety so we will leave the final curtain call till the next time we are in the area.
Cheers Corey, Di and family

Answered all the questions but I suspect the final way point is underwater because of the high Murray River. Will go back in a few weeks and see if I can get there.
So I went back and found the cache okay. It had moved a few feet from its spot and was out in the open. Luckily the cache was water tight and everything inside was perfect and dry. I put it back in its original spot. All good here!!

Found 9.00am
This is just the sort of cache that we just love. With just one bit of information and no complicated maths we soon visited all the necessary locations and had calculated GZ. There has been a bit of rain around here which made the trip to GZ interesting but as the numbers came down we found a great parking/turning spot with a fantastic view. Even though it was still quite cold we got out and admired the river before walking over to GZ. My GPSr was pointing in a few different directions but the great sized cache was soon found.
Took Nothing
Left Keeper of Time pathtag and geocoin
Thanks cdmark we voted this cache the best of our 2 day trip this area

Found quickly st GZ. Lived here for 46 & 33 years between us and have never taken the time to learn some of Moamas history. TFTC
Gathered all the info for the final co ordinates. Headed there but our search was interrupted by the appearance of a muggle. Will have to wait for another day.

Found by WINE TIMERS on the 13/06/10 at 15.38
Thought I would do a quick cache while staying at Maidens Inn caravan park for the weekend, so looked for nearby caches and found this one in walking distance from the park. We found all the answers for the final co ords and set off for a 1.5 klm walk.
Made the find easily and headed back.
The round trip ended up at 8.6 klm. So a well earned wine was had.

What a great multi! Not only have you done a stellar job on the cache page, all waypoints can be done in the air-conditioned comfort of a Prado with a coffee machine in the back! (yes we were with The Coffee Clan, and Team Crackers too!) Was impressed with all the historic sites and once the final coordinates were in, it was a nice drive out to the final. Thanks for the cache!
We decided to finish off the caches we hadn't found yesterday and after having a leisurely morning breakfast and then walk through the tourist precinct in Echuca with Spruce Mooses and Mr Coffee and the Coffee Clan we headed across the border to do this cache. We enjoyed reading the info at the wpts along the way and we were then off for a short drive to gz where Mrs Coffee soon had the cache in hand
Thanks once more WazzaAndWenches for the cache

1st find of the day, and 2420th total find at 10:12.
Well we decided that we wouldn't be leaving town early this morning, so we could do a few more caches before dragging the caravan out of the park and taking it home.
Hopefully we managed to extract the cache and replace it without the neighbours noticing.

So far this is one of the best set up multis we have done in a long while.
No need to get out of the car until you get to GZ, which is great when you have a bub with you.
At GZ we had a small problem. How to get to the cache while the guy camping over the fence just stood there and pretended to read his paper on the bonnet of his ute.
So I went back to the car and drew his attention from GeoH while he retrieved the cache.
A great little history tour of the area, it was great.

Visited with Fred6603 a day early for the Echuca event. This was the nearest to our camp so after we found 2 new caches, we were on the way back to camp for lunch and decided to do this one now as it had stopped raining. We gathered all the info fairly easily & then headed to GZ. Another nice drive in a nice part of town. TNLNSL thanks again Wazza,

Found at 1220 in the company of Roostaman. Once again another great cache and history lesson from cdmark. After gathering the information from the various historic waypoints and a drive to a great bush setting the cache was in hand. Thanks cdmark.
Gave up trying to read all the information contained on this one. Sorry cdmark, but there is only so much I can take when reading from an ipod whist the pilot is heading for every single bump on the road.
We enjoyed the cache immensely - especially the part where I made a slight miscalculation and we had to drive through unpassable tracks on the wrong side of the river! Once she saw the error of my ways, and ample time for her to let me know about it had passed, we found the cache whilst avoiding the watchful gaze of the campers nearby, and their big dog. TFTC

Enjoyed the history lesson and the banks of the Murray. Very busy holiday time lots of muggles. Dropped off Ree Bart the Frog Travel Bug (loves the water)
2nd Geocache. Acted as decoy for hubby (kenscollection) because there were lots of muggles.
Micheena - Don't know what our GPS was up too, but I wasn't going swimming. Use own devices to get back on track.

Thought this was a FTF, I got to fill in the first page of a new note book. Wasn't to be.
Thanks for the great compilation of history.
P.S. - the four columns are looking a bit doddery, don't put off doing this cache.

Walked past this one, or at least the start thereoff on our first night in town when we walked from the caravan park to the bridge and back, about 5km according to the gps. We needed the excersise! Could have done all the prelim then but instead we did it all by car on our last night here. Nice little multi with plenty of interesting history to read and learn about, and a nice spot at GZ too. Another part of the river I'd not have seen otherwise.
Thanks again cdmark

Enjoyed working out the coords, and enjoyed finding the cache even more. Thoroughly enjoyed the walk to GZ even more, and took about five minutes to figure out the exact location of the container. Left a TB. TFTC.
I crossed over the Murray for dinner and thought I would get an appetite by tackling 2 multis. This one was the entree and another lovely bit of artwork, photos and history on the cache pages.
I think of all the locations I would have liked to have visited the army museum but I settled on a bit of duck instead and headed off to the main course which was found after a brief search. Well hidden by the last finder.
TNLn Thanks CDMark.
Always enjoy your work.

Some great interesting historic waypoints in this multi. Makes you wonder what the people are thinking in the museum and winery when people pull up and disappear quickly after seeing the duck.
Cache was slightly exposed, so covered up a bit better after signing the log.

Found at 1130. Spent the day in Echuca with DJ Rascal to round up some of the remaining caches left to complete. Have been through Moama a few times, but never before had I seen any of these locations. Enjoyed the historical tour of Moama.
Thanks cdmark.
Thanks cdmark.
After a great lunch and an afternoon spent sampling much of the (mostly alcoholic) local produce I dragged Amy and the extended family over the border to find another cache and take in some of the history. We grabbed the initial info without too many problems, although Amy was an active and useful participant (for a while!). Once at GZ we came a bit unstuck, well....a lot unstuck. After a couple of phone calls and some misinterpretation we got what we were after. I thought the whole experience just made it more fun! Amy was getting angry. I wonder if I'll make it home via Rochester?
Cheers guys, great history and well put together multi.

Another great Multi by Cdmark like always packed full of information and interesting wp locations. I don’t go to Moama very much and enjoyed the chance to have a look at this neat little town
The Morris family hate long multis and Lady Morris had prepared them psychologically to complete 3 today. She was confident she could them to complete at least 2 but with whinging. This was their kind of multi - gather the info without leaving the car except for one spot although the kids did check out the Telegraph office.
At GZ there was a carload of muggles and muggle dogs but they soon left. Then their was some discussion about the application of the clues - if we'd looked harder and argued less about what "close" meant we would have found it much sooner. The kids were delighted with the contents and poured over it - finally selecting erasers and a bear. Left funky paper clips and lady bird scissors. TF a fun adventure and Mr Morris didn't whinge once.

Yeah, my 1st FTF.
I was wasting bandwidth last night when up popped a "published" email. A quick read then it was out the door and heading for the first clue. The fact that it was around 11pm just made it a little bit harder to find the answers without attracting the "long arm of the law".
Decided to wait for daylight before bagging the find, 'coz the Wenchette was asleep in bed and she gets cranky if I go caching without her!
Up bright and early, with Mrs Wench off to work, and we two out wandering through the scrub with a very flaky response from the satellites. A look at the clue didn't help too much either 'coz it just narrowed it from hundreds of possibles to a few dozen. Eventually walked out to a better reception area and we had a good fix.
Living in the local area makes it much easier to just zip out and grab a quick find.
Left the TB for the next caller.

Thanks cdmark for taking me out on a cold dark night. Although I have been in the area of GZ many times, I haven't stopped to read the info boards (funny how you never really know what's "in your own backyard"). Might be able to use some of the info when I get around to planting more caches.
