Had a short look for the cache before being joined by a local kid who uses this spot as a cubby/bike track with jumps/tree climbing etc. Had some great conversation while MrG went for a cache spotting wander. No find but think we found the worst toilets in SA! [xx(]
Out caching with Hevwalker, Mandy and CP today. We started with placing a very special GEOPET cache and then headed to the Wandering Heroes.
CP only did a few with us and turned for home and then the girls carried on until dark.
Had loads of fun in the wet and sticky weather, although we got soaked a few times and I was drenching wet when I got home.

Found on a very wet afternoon with Ismartis and my geopet, Mandy...
We found this one today...obviously either someone replaced it or it had cache creep & we just happened to see it...either way it was there today...

Passing by so we checked on this one.
It is indeed missing again!
Will leave it to the CO to decide whether to replace again.

Another weekend, another foray into Wandering Hero territory. Today we cached between Mindarie and Alawoona. We ended up with a total of 37 finds, which included a handful of non-heroes, a couple of which were multis.
Having read the previous logs indicating this cache was missing we came prepared with a replacement.
Sure enough we found an empty hidey-hole where the cache had been. Replacement made and covered with the natural camo that appeared to have been used previously.

The WEEO and I had a good look for this one and could not see it. Hate these nanos, esp. if they are not there....
Today was the day that two caching teams joined up for a challenge,The_Tritonz and DAB. We had set ourselves the task of 150 finds in a day. Luckily we achieved that number and then some !! We started the day very early and concluded in the late afternoon. While a good percentage of the finds were from the "Wandering Heroes" series, there were other hides in the mix. We found mysteries, traditionals and multis. We were spoilt with the landscape and plenty of photos were snapped.
There was plenty of laughs throughout the day and the weather was perfect. Being from Victoria, we were very impressed with not only the number, but the quality of the hides. Thanks to all of the CO's for an enjoyable but tiring day !! We can't wait to return here. Our only DNF for the weekend !!

Family day out caching to enjoy this beautiful weather we are having today Unfortunately we couldn't find this one today we had good look but when we noticed we had a muggle audience we gave up and moved on.
23.07.15, tftc muggles by a local kelpie, this was the town of a child hood friend who moved to the district with his family in the eighties to have the local store
Was a little dubious about the local dog but he ended up being friendly. Cache found then he wandered off as if to say I knew it was there. Thanks
After a great weekend in loxton for easter, it is time to go home. On the way home we decided that we were going to collect a few caches. Nice easy find.

After visiting my brother in Murray Bridge I am now actually heading for Queensland for the Mega and picking up the rest of the Wandering Heroes series that I haven't yet done with a few others along the way.
Had a very good day with only a couple of no finds and a couple near Karoonda where muggles were everywhere for the farm day so stopped me even looking.
No problems with finding any of the caches that I did find.
Thanks FLIPPER&CO for the cache.

Found while out for the day with Uni on a Wandering Hero's assault 'It's not about the numbers is about the milestones'.
We had a great day finding many many great caches, I apologize about the generic logs however for efficiency this is the quickest way to do it for me when I'm time poor. I would like to aknowlege all the great work and innovation put into many of the hides along this route.
Thank you to all cache placers,

Found during an epic Australia Day long weekend of caching road trip through Victoria and South Australia.

TNLN, thanks FLIPPER&CO.
On a day caching in the Mallee added to our collection of Wandering Heroes series. This is a generic log which should not detract from the quality or amount of the caches placed along and around the Karoonda to Loxton Roads. Thanks to all the cache placement teams for their contribution to this wonderful place in South Australia for all cachers.
Our third attempt at completing the WH series, and we still didn't manage to finish it... So I'm secretly excited to have to organise yet another caching expedition with mum and dad Sylken to run to the finish line (at least until someone publishes some more new ones .
We had a much cooler day for our outing this time, but the wind was pretty ferocious! Nevertheless, as always we had a ball.
Thanks to all the cache owners in the series. Your efforts at placing and maintaining the caches in the series are greatly appreciated.

Geodaughter KAROPI joined us here in Murray Bridge for our third assault on the WH series. We had cached as far as just north of Karoonda and felt we may be able to finish the rest of those published to date, as far as Loxton. We were very wrong...we left Murray Bridge at 07.30 and finished caching at about 17.45 and by then we had still only reached Alawoona. We still have over forty to find
We had a howling wind all day....a lot of the time spent bending into the wind to stay upright while searchng for caches. Let's not even discuss what it was like to open and close 4x4 doors with a gale blowing up our rear end, we all now have overextended arm muscles At least on the way there we had great fuel economy. We won't talk about the (non)economy we had on the way home
We found about a hundred caches and had no DNF's at all. We found some really nice caches, dedicated no doubt to some really nice cachers. We have found several more caches in one day in the past but are using the appalling wind as an excuse for not finishing the series today.
We saw very little wild life...some shinglebacks, one roo and two echidnas...oh and a bunny who took off like the proverbial...rabbit?? We actually saw a couple of his mates too, but they were many metres away instead of only about three metres with this little fellow. Thankfully we saw no snakes...they obviously don't like strong wind either
We stopped at the Karoonda pub for dinner....very basic ,but filling, and arrived back at base after dark and somewhat exhausted
So nice to read some of the history of these tiny towns.
Many thanks for the hide FLIPPER&CO[^][^][^]

On way from Renmark SA to Murray Bridge SA our next overnight stay with our 4WD and caravan stopped at this location, finding this cache okay.\TFTC

We headed down to South Australia for a few days of caching, and the Wandering Heroes series was next up on our list, with a few other caches in between We started off nicely and early today before hitting the trails, and after a slow start, we soon picked up the pace, and were on a roll Many of the them were quite unique, and as most had good hints and obvious hides, we managed to get them knocked off quickly We enjoyed these caches, as they were all pretty straight forward, and it never took long to find each cache We managed to finish off the day with only a few dnf's too

A little diversion from the Heroes, we felt as if we were under surveillance here. Perhaps there have just been more than the average number of cars about over the last week!
The log here is very wet perhaps a replacement is due.
Thanks to FLIPPER&CO for the hunt.

Suscoe headed out today for a long day of caching in the company of Phetlern to both the south and north of Karoonda.
We had a great day caching, chatting and fun with Pheltern.
After a very quiet night out here in the Mallee area we were ready to take on this challenge.
All up today we were able to reach 150 finds, a very satisfying number.
Our logs were signed in our fast mode with "S and P".
We had decided to do these caches in safe mode with an outbound and an inbound order which ended up to work pretty well and mostly avoided the worry of crossing the road.
Thanks to FLIPPER&CO for placing this cache.

One Family - 10 days - 2600 kms - Oz Mega 2014
Bound to Oz Mega 2014 in Murray Bridge over the Easter weekend, we left the Saturday before and camped along the way going along the Great Ocean Rd. We stayed at Apollo Bay, Port Fairy and Mount Gambier before getting to Murray Bridge. We managed to pack a fair bit of local tourist attractions in getting a number of caches along the way before getting amongst them in Murray Bridge.
Saturday we left home and headed down to Torquay, checking out some local sights, before tackling the Great Ocean Rd in earnest. Some of the highlights on the way down to Apollo Bay included visiting Bells Beach and Erskine Falls.
Sunday we packed the tent up and grabbed a few local caches then headed to visit the Cape Otway Lighthouse and Otway Fly before heading through to Port Fairy.
Monday bought us some magnificent weather as we made our way to Peterborough, discovering all the natural wonders along the Great Ocean Rd until the 12 Apostles where we headed up to sample some local cheese and chocolate, yummo!! That night we ventured to Tower Hill for some night caching.
Tuesday we made our way to Mount Gambier visiting Portland and Cape Nelson, hastily making our camp before watching the lunar eclipse over Blue Lake.
A lazy day afterwards ensured our batteries were recharged as we packed up early Thursday morning and drove straight to Murray Bridge, setting up camp under the watchful eye of Gonefishen07 where we tackled Fruit Loop and a number of night caches.
Good Friday we headed up to Borrika to grab some of the unfound Wandering Heroes caches and visiting our own to show Campbell. The evening meal was nothing short of spectacular with a roast enjoyed by all as we relaxed around camp (some calling us heathens for eating Lamb).
Saturday saw Trent, Gonefishen07 and Lazzal head to Loxton to finish the rest of the Wandering Heroes, whist Katy, Campbell and Zobo04 went shopping in town, coming home and making Loom bracelets for all and sundry for a price!!! The highlight of the night being the fireworks show provided by Team Crackers!
Sunday saw us head in to Adelaide with a bunch of other cachers to grab a virtual and webcam cache. Heading back to Murray Bridge, we attended the flashmob and CITO, grabbed a few more caches enabling us to complete 12 different caches in a day!!!
Monday we bade farewell to Murray Bridge and the Oz Mega and ventured home saying our farewell's to the new caching teams we met over the four days.
After a quick search for a FTF then the trip to Loxton to grab fuel and some free breakfast. We started heading south grabbing caches to clear the Wandering Heroes. We got back to camp around 1pm with 30 or so caches up our sleeve.
Thanks for all the CO's for placing these caches!!!

After arriving to Murray Bridge last night and setting up camp at the SA Mega event site, I decided to head out today to tackle some more of the wandering heroes series. After driving into Loxton, I stopped by this one and a few others before returning back to Murray Bridge. Enjoyed learning about new cachers I have yet to meet, and paying tribute to those that I have. Fortunately there was no one around, so after a brief search, the cache was found. From memory the log book was a little damp.

I am over from New Zealand for Oz Mega 2014 and today joined forces with fellow kiwis Yorkshirekiwi83, Cats&Dragons, Funkymunkyzone, Slieschke and Alpenmilch80 for a 24 hour non stop caching run! The log books were signed under the team name of "NZ Fun"
We started near Murray Bridge and worked our way around the Oz Mega 2014 Signal trail, then on to the OZ Mega 2014 SA trail. Once those trails were finished, we headed over to Tailem Bend and worked through the Wandering Heroes series up to Loxton. From here we made our way across to the Tour De France power trail. Whilst the power trails were our main focus, we also picked up a few other caches along the way. At the end of the 24 hours we finished with 727 cache finds!!! It was an exhausting 24 hours and we still had to drive back to Murray Bridge afterwards! Sorry for the generic logs, but a big thank you to the cache owners for all of the cache placements!

Found as part of a 24hour cache run with 5 other kiwi's while at the OZMEGA2014 Murray Bridge (Alpenmilch80, Slieschke, funkymunkyzone, vistra & Yorkshirekiwi83, ) on Friday 18th April. All logs were signed as "NZ Fun"
We had a great time and throughly enjoyed the challenge that this presented to us all, thank you to the cache owners for being able to create such a range of caches for us to complete.
We started our run at Signal, through to OZ MEGA 2014, The Wandering Hero's, Tour de France with many other caches along the way. For all that we managed we only had 11 DNF's in the whole trip which for the numbers was pretty amazing in its own right.
So again thank you for the NZ FUN

Sitting in a pub in Auckland before the SA MEGA we decided it would be a really fun idea to try and see how many caches we could find within 24hours. So it was decided, team NZ Fun was born (myself, Alpenmilch80, Cats and Dragons, slieschke, funkymonkeyzone and vistra). We met at the dedicated starting point just before midnight and we were ready to go on the stroke of 12, we completed Signal, OZ Mega trails, Wandering Heros and the Tour de France with many others in between.
Thank you to the many cache owners who put time and effort into placing and maintaining these trails, we really appreciate it, we managed 727 caches within our 24hours, which was exhillerating, exhausting and loads of fun. Apologies for the generic log.

Team "NZ Fun" - funkymunkyzone, slieschke, alpenmilch80, vistra, yorkshirekiwi83 and Cats&Dragons - found this on our rather loosely planned 24 hours of cache finding record run, from midnight to midnight on the 18th of April 2014. We started with the Signal geo-art trail, headed up through the other Oz Mega 2014 trails, the Wandering Heroes series and then across to the Tour de France trail for a total of 727 finds and 11 DNFs for the day. Apologies for the copy/paste logs, but with so many caches found in a single day it was impossible to remember specific caches, but that's not to say there weren't memorable caches along the way - there were indeed some great caches, particularly along the Wandering Heroes series. Special thanks to the cache hiders: OzFiresafe, Team Hurtle, and their helpers, for the Oz Mega 2014 trails; le equipe de cinq pour la piste "Tour de France"; and all the hiders of the Wandering Heroes caches and other caches along the way that we found along the way. We started at midnight on the Signal trail and ended at midnight after a few random caches in Eudunda before making the long drive back to Murray Bridge for some well earned sleep - for some of us, the first sleep for more than 45 hours. We stopped at every cache and it was a fun day but very tiring, and I don't think I'd do it again for a very long time (I'll stop short of saying never though, like organising another mega - ha!) TFTC!!!
Find 549 of 727 for the day.

From Auckland via Sydney I arrived at Adelaide around 10pm on the 17th to be picked up by funkymunkyzone, slieschke and Cats&Dragons (thx!). The plan was a 24h geocaching run which included picking up as many caches possible involving the three trails of Oz Mega, Wandering Heroes and Tour de France. We made it just in time back to Murray Bridge to meet up with vistra and yorkshirekiwi83 at GZ of our first cache. With the whole Team "NZ Fun" assembled the run started exactly at midnight.
In total we managed 727 finds and 11 DNFs in 24 hours. Wow what a great team effort!! TFTC

Had just stopped here for breakfast and grabbed this one while here TFTC Flipper and Co
Found at 2:19 PM GAFF1. There were a couple of kids playing nearby in the trees and when we pulled up with the van and got out - they ran away quite quickly. We must have looked quite determined Anyway it helped with our search which when we found the container it was quite exposed and ready to be muggled.
Thanks FLIPPER&CO.

On our way to the OZ Mega event in Murray Bridge we decided to attempt a 24 hour challenge and see how many caches we could find on the wandering heroes trail. Our final count from midnight to midnight on the 13th of April 2014 was 247 caches (not too bad for a couple of grandparents).
After a bit of sleep in the car, we completed the trail the next day.
We discovered that all the preparation we put into this helped make the challenge go smoothly...
plenty of maps, batteries, lights etc. Our only pitfalls were lack of sleep and a lack of loo's along the way
The only caches we missed were those that were published whilst we were on the road.... DOH
Many thanks to all the cache owners for their creative endeavour to make this trail of honour to fellow cachers.
Sorry for the generic log.... over 247 logs for the day to do

Over from Perth to attend the SA Oz Mega. Decided to head out and tackle the Northern end of the Wandering Heroes trail.
After all the rain in the last few days there were some soft edges and we had to be careful where we pulled off the road.
Great day all up with no DNF's We tackled some of the other caches along the way but also were forced to leave some for another day.
Thanks to all those who have contributed. Look forward to attempting the rest soon.

We went for a trip along the north end of the Wandering heroes with Fred6603 & lgoody.
Not many muggles around and a reasonably quick find on most of them.

[:(!] Over from Perth to visit our geoson (RevolutioSolutio) and his family in Adelaide and our son in Griffith and today we are on our way back to Adelaide after spending a couple of days in Griffith, after spending the night at the Loxton caravan park we are now on our way to Adelaide, picking up a few caches along the way, as well as to finish the Wandering Heroes Series and The Lost Wanderers Series, parked the geoGrand Vitara as close as possible to GZ and we walked in from there, on arrival at GZ the cache was in hand in a matter of minutes.

Did complete series when was 133 caches long so needed to return to catch up on the caches placed since thewn this time starting from Loxton end Thanks to all for the caches
Spent most of the day driving between Tailem Bend and Loxton hitting the Wandering Heroes trail with BettyBoo3747, and grabbing a few extras on the way as they popped up.
We had done a large chunk of the trail last year, so the first bit was just filling in the gaps and doing the Lost Wanderers' caches.
The forecast was for thunderstorms, but all we saw was a lot of wind swept drizzle, and even a bit of sunshine!
The road was very busy today, but most caches allowed us to park a little off the road - lots of short walks to GZ's! We found everything we were looking for which surprised us
Thanks to all the cache owners for placement, and the maintenance crew too.
A nice little hall, but we drove right past to GZ. The bullants were out today, but they would need to be fast to get us!
The pub is a nice building , but we had not time to stop in today.
Thanks, Robmc.

# 5120. Robmc and I are in SA to tackle a few of the many Series and today it was the Wandering Heroes and Lost Wanderers caches that we tackled with a few others along the way. We were travelling from Tailem Bend to Waikerie. We had done many of these last year so it was certainly quicker at the start of the series as we had only the new ones to catch up on.
We managed to find 114 caches for the day. I think we walked miles also - to and from the many caches that were way off to the side of the road.
Another quick stop amongst the WH caches.
Thanks FLIPPER&CO

Enjoyed finding another little railway town cache today. Wanbi sounds like such a cute, happy place. Well, it does to us, anyway!
The cache maker and I travelled from Queensland to find some caches, and now we are making out way back home.
We are now not only in the country of rabbit country, but the spinifex is now everywhere, so not ony do we have to look out for rabbit holes, we have to watch that we don't get too many spinifex scratches.
we are having fun finding the caches, and reading the descriptions to each one.
thanks for the cache

This was our 2nd cache find in the caching run & we found it at 14:41
So this now makes our total find count 6500.

The "Wandering Heroes" series has been on our todo list for quite some time. As we are slowly meandering our way across to the Fleurieu Peninsula to attend an event there, we now have an ideal opportunity to do the caches in the series. We anticipate that it will take quite a few days, especially as we are not in any hurry.
This one isn't on the series, but we just had to do it anyway.
[/blue]
Coordinate Accuracy: Excellent (Around 2 metres)
Cache Condition: Container and log book are in good shape.
Took: Nothing.
Left: Bag of Marbles
Thanks FLIPPER&CO for the hunt today.

YAY WE FOUND IT! TFTC! We loved the drive to karoonda and stopped and turned around before dark hope to finish them soon.
South Australia 2013 with Sol de Lune. We headed off on 12/4 and arrived home on 28/4. The trip was to visit the SA series so more time could be spent at the Mega itself next year. We did a huge variety of caching around Murray Bridge, the Mid North, Yorke Peninsula and Whyalla Region. Apart from one wet night and two wet days we were able to spend heaps of time caching.
Time for another break from the Wandering Heroes Series, but we managed this one better than some of the other non series caches. Thanks.

Grabbed with albida on day 1 of our 2 week caching run from Canberra to, and around, different parts of South Australia including Loxton, Murray Bridge, Tailem Bend, Yorke Peninsula and around to Whyalla before heading home via Broken Hill, Cobar and Parkes. We completed a few power trails and left a couple to do when in the area again for next years Mega event.
Overall a great many different styles and types of caches found. A great time was had caching for 16 days straight as well as camping along the way.
Thanks for adding to the fun with this cache.

The Aussies decided that it was time to make yet another assault on the Wandering Heroes series, and as this series has now grown to where it almost reaches Loxton, we decided to make it into an epic journey and do a loop back through the Barossa. brisal5 keep us company and had a great day making the majority of the finds. It was still a day of great drama with some exciting bush bashing in the new car and also blood at more than one cache and a couple of falls.
It was a legendary caching day consisting of about 17hrs of caching and around 130 caches contributing to over 100 smilies to both teams, however it was not without it's dramas with blood being spilt more than once.
A fairly quick find. This time the pub was quiet on the way in and... was just as quiet on the way out. TFTC Flippers.

Time for another caching adventure. Picked up by Aussie M&M at 0730. [l)] Dropped home just after midnight the next day. The plan: Do some new or missed caches along the wandering heroes, some cache maintainace for CP along the trail and make it to Loxton for Lunch. Pick up a few interesting caches that are SMALL detours and return another way picked up some more caches and make a few SMALL detours.
But here's what actually happened. Did the wandering heroes, did some cache maintainance, made some MEDIUM detours to check out the 4wd of the geofrogmobile, got to Loxton for afternoon tea at the bakery, did some more caches, got to Blanachetown for a pub meal (supper) which took so long to arrive we could have done ten caches while they cooked it, did some more caches and finally got home.
Along the way the usual stuff happened, found some really interesting caches, some not so, there was blood from two, [B)] two fell over, collected 3 travellers, left about a dozen pathtags in the wild, lots of laughter, each team did over 100 caches and now we have the task of the logs.
The only things missing from this adventure; Brisal didn't tear a garment of clothing or dak himself and the constant giggling of Mogni. We missed it.
Quick stop. The pub was closed. But it's lunch time? Go figure. Thanks Flipper.

Found as part of the record run to SA by The Demolition Crew (TDC). While, I am not a member of the TDC, I was fortunate enough to be caching with Blacklegend, Quasar3671, Trailrunning and Rebel Acts on what was for me, a huge adventure.
As I live with Blacklegend, it was fantastic when he said "Do you want to come to South Australia on a huge caching trip". I jumped at the chance, as I'd never been to S.A. or Adelaide, and it was a fantastic feeling to know I was going to be part of something big, and I was.
To be part of the Australian 24 hour record, at such an early stage in my caching career, so to speak, and part of so many other finds, was experience building beyond anything I could have hoped for.
****************
Tuesday was the day of our record run from midnight to midnight. We rested before the start and got a few hours sleep. Once we started, it was a blur of caching, we did the Oz Mega, Oz Mega Signal, Wandering Heroes and TDF series along the way. Caches were being found so quickly, it was amazing. The time went very fast, and at the end, even the several cans of energy drink did nothing to hold off some tiredness. I got through, and was proud to have been part of this incredible day.
****************
Due to the extremely high number of finds for the trip, and on Blacklegend's advice and with his assistance, I have also gone with the generic logs. As the others have stated, it in no way takes away from the fantastic and enjoyable hides we found on the trip. As Blacklegend and the other have said, my sincere thanks to all cache owners who placed and maintain their caches, and made this trip possible for our group. TFTC, memories and the experience.

This cache was found during The Demolition Crew with Ponty95 24 hour and 1000 caches in 48 hours record breaking challenge caching run in South Australia.
I've been on quite a few caching road trips during my time as a cacher and this one was one of the best. The idea was to see how many caches we could find in 24 hours, with the goals being to break the Australian 24 hour caching record, and then continue on the next day to see if we could eventually find a total of 1000 caches or more in the 48 hours. Needless to say we did manage to fulfill both goals.
Not only does SA have some lovely contryside and Adelaide itself is famous for its churches, SA is also known for its numerous, extensive and well laid out cache 'powertrails'. The OZ Mega, OZ Signal and the Wandering Heros series of caches in particular are the largest and just a few of the many that can be tackled. With this is mind, TDC started planning the 24 hour challenge caching run back in late 2012, and over a period of many, many months we laid out careful plans on how we were going to break the Australian 24 hour caching record, as well as find as many caches as possible while on the road.
The intricate attention to detail proved to be esssential to us completing our goals. With routes planned, essential supplies loaded (especially museli bars, water and energy drinks) and every cache detail documented, we headed off on the 6th to begin our journey. By the end we had accomplished what we had set out to do, smashing the 24 hour record and finding over 1000 caches in the 48 hours. We had an absolute ball and needless to say were knackered by the end but the final result was worth every hours lack of sleep.
Apart from finding many 'stand alone' caches we did manage to complete the OZ Mega, Oz Signal, Wandering Heros, TDF, APM and PSA series, the 40, 50 and 60 series of caches as well as a number of Adelaide puzzle caches and a few Melbourne - Adelaide multi caches.
Due to the number of cache finds and the resulting number of logs to write, I am reluctantly using a generic log to log each cache. The same goes for my fellow TDC cachers and Ponty95, full appreciation goes out to each of the CO's who placed caches that we found, and without your caches our fantastic caching experience would not have come to fruition.
Thanks, Quasar3671.

Found as part of the Demolition Crew record run to South Australia with fellow TDC members Quasar3671, Trailrunning, Rebel Acts and a guest on the trip, Poynts95.
The trip was a fair while in the making, and many aspects had to align to make it happen, including all of us getting the time to go. However, the "stars aligned" so to speak for us, and the trip was on. A date was set and much planning engaged, and when I say much, I mean a very large amount. We had an old saying where I used to work, and that was "Failing to be prepared, is being prepared to fail", so, we prepared, and prepared and prepared.
With a challenge set, being, could The Demolition Crew find over 500 caches in 24 hours, we headed forth to South Australia, the magical land of power trails, and over the duration of the trip, found in excess of 1250 caches, and indeed, easily beat the goal on our record day. Importantly too, we had a great time together.

Tuesday was the day of our record attempt, a crack at the 24 hour Australian record. Starting at midnight and finishing at midnight, it was an awesome run. Some rest and sleep was had before the run, and many, many cans of energy drinks (harden up) was consumed during the 24 hours. We picked up the Oz Mega, Oz Mega Signal, Wandering Heroes and TDF series along the way. Caches were found and logged at an immense speed, and in hindsight, the greatest single day of caching I have ever had. It was hard, hard work, but a lot of fun. Humor and our goal kept our spirits up during a mammoth 24 hours.
----------------------------------------------------------------------------------------
Due to the extremely high number of finds for the trip, I am opting for a generic log, which I never normally do, but as the others have stated, it in no way detracts from the high quality of hides we found on the trip. My sincere thanks to all cache owners who placed and maintain their caches, and made this trip possible for our group. You have all been part of the best caching road trip we have yet made. When the Wandering Series was first published it had been on the agenda of The Demolition Crew, however we were not able to arrange a time when all of us could go over. Fortuitously as time went by, more trails were published. Upon looking more closely at South Australia recently, there were many more power trails than we realised, and a plan was hatched to go over and grab as many caches as we could. We were all finally able to arrange a mutual time during the Easter school holidays, so the planning stages began.
Given the limited amount of time available to us, and so many caches to grab, we realised that a huge effort was going to be needed to grab them all. Rebel Acts being known for his record breaking 24 hour runs suggested that we try a 24 hour run of our own. Now there was a thought, a challenge in fact we readily accepted. A bit more planning (a lot more actually) and a route was chosen and run sheets drawn up.
With all the puzzles solved, and most of the multi's these caches were reduced to traditionals for the run day. With cars packed, stamps made, and spirits high we made our way to South Australia to find some plastic.
Tuesday was our attempt at a 24 cache run which naturally started at midnight and finished at midnight. It was a great run with Oz Mega, Oz Mega Signal, Wandering Heroes and TdF cache series being picked up. At one stage caches were being logged so fast it was all a blur. Naturally a few cans of toughen up were consumed many laughs had.
While I am using a generic log, it does not detract my appreciation of all the CO's who have put the time into placing and maintaining these caches. To each and every one of you, I thank you for being part of what has been the best cache road trip yet. Thank you!

The cache was found as part of A massive cache run to South Australia with TDC Members Trailrunning, Quasar3671 and Blacklegend and a ring in Ponty95. It had taken us time to get this all together, finally a date was set and planning was started, I learnt one thing from my late mate dak's Emu Mob AKA Dave Kruger "Proper Planning prevents piss Poor Performance" he always said. Trailrunning was our master planner on this trip. I did this as part of a team but I also did it as a tribute to dak. having set the Australian Record twice before the question was, does the Rebel still have what it takes, I think the answer for that was yes. The challenge had been set down on FB "could the TDC find over 500 in a day, well we took up the challenge and headed to the power trail capital of Australia.

Pub looked dead on the way up, but then had livened up on the way back. Thanks for the cache.
While trialling our new camper we travelled for 8 days, over 1,275kms and found over 530 caches (including powertrails). Thanks to all those who hid the caches we found and contributed to a great week away from home.
Now I KNOW that we found this cache as I distinctly recall saying "It's still 54kms to Loxton Muuuuum. I'm hungryyyyyyy. I'm over it now. I'm hot. I'm tired. *Insert broken baby elephant noise here*" LOL
lol lol lol
Oh, what a day!!
Reading the description of this cache brought to my attention that lunch was at least another 54kms away .. ughhh [:O)]
There is ONE watering hole in this teeny tiny town.. and im pretty sure lunch was over by the time we got there lol
lol lol lol
Oh, what a day!!
Reading the description of this cache brought to my attention that lunch was at least another 54kms away .. ughhh [:O)]
There is ONE watering hole in this teeny tiny town.. and im pretty sure lunch was over by the time we got there lol
Our second day of caching the Wondering Heroes series with Locus cache & KittyKat.
Wasn't sure if we did this one or not but thanks to Kaye's extensive list I can give this one a smilie.
Yes I can remember us driving past the only pub for miles knowing lunch was definitely over by 2pm!
Cheers Flipper & Co for the cache & great series.

Out for a weekend of doing the locus cache on the Wandering Heroes series of caches with ~*KittyKat*~ and clare007
What fun we had over those two days! [^]
What a lovely concept, to recognise fellow geocachers and our thanks to all who have placed these caches and consequently provided us with a fantastically fun weekend! [^]
I also recommend the Karoonda Hotel for a cheap midway stop over! An old building with clean rooms and clean bedding, a hot shower and you can help yourself to toast and cereal breakfast in the morning if you leave early.
This cost us $60 total for a room with three single beds and they have cheaper twin share rooms. Saturday nights they serve good food, too! [^]
I have been to Wanbi a few times for the Z Owners' Motorbike Club's Wanbi Rally .... always fun here for that and often a burnout comp in the middle of the main road at strange hours of the night
The place is much livelier on that weekend than it was today!
