Great event and awesome to meet more cachers - always cool to put faces to names, lucky with the weather, many thanks to those involved in putting this all together and making it a successful day - certainly look forward to the next one....
Flogged a bloody good drop TB 2/4 to be released very soon...

I came along to this and had great fun picking up the rubbish with the, Rubbish Picker Uppers. Ran around, played, ate and spent time with old and new friends.
Thank You.
Thank You.
My first Event! Had fun with the pick-up stick things! Make good catapults too! Picked up lots of rubbish with my friends and met some new friends too. Scored balloons and a pen and a kiwi stuck in a glass block going 'kee wee heelp mee' ha ha with dads not so good engraving underneath saying 'CITO 2008'.
Wow! What a great turn-out! With about 30 people there, this was a great CITO. Many thanks to those who traveled especially from Auckland, Hamilton and Tauranga and also to those local (Rotorua) cachers who attended, dodging rain showers! It was a pleasure to host everyone including those who don't always log their attendances.
I found plastic pick-up tools with a trigger grip handle and claws at the base in one of those about $2 shops. 10 of these resulted in less yukky handling of rubbish and less bending!
Keep Rotorua Beautiful supplied gloves and bags and we actually ran out of those, so had to stop and have a BBQ! The rubbish collection driver was surprised at all the rubbish we collected, filling my trailer!
Work sponsored some BBQ food & plates etc as well as a thank you gift for all attendees - a Kiwi etched on the inside of a glass(?) block with 'Rotorua New Zealand' etched also. I engraved 'CITO 2008' underneath so no-one can forget! Ha!
The younger ones enjoyed the pens & balloons and games donated by Keep Rotorua Beautiful also.
Congratulations to Eruptn for their two FTF's on the day!
Grabbed the dog and my geopin also.
Cheers,
GC.

Thanks Gen Custer for a well organised event and going the extra mile to make this enjoyable. This was an excellent place to clean up, and it was great to meet fellow geocachers also. TFTE
Thanks for organising this event. Hadn't planned on coming, it was only when we decided to have a few days in Rotorua that we were looking for some caches to find and this one came up. An ideal opportunity to meet some fellow cachers and do some good for Rotorua's environment at the same time. Great to meet you all and put some faces to familiar names and thanks for the little giveaways.
Thanks Kevin for hosting this event - your organisation was much appreciated. It's always great to meet other geocachers and put faces to names (and to garner a few hints on hard to find caches?!!)
I think we did a good job cleaning up the area which obviously needed it!

Great to meet General Custer and others at this well organised event. Good turnout too! It was lovely to see kids, well, everyone really, but kids in particular, picking up rubbish. Sorry we couldn't stay for the socialising. Family called.
We're really glad we came! We had fun filling bags with rubbish and clearing up around the lake. It was also a good lesson for our 6 year old on why rubbish should go in the bin...
Nice to meet some cachers from down 'south' too.
Many thanks to GenCuster for organising and for doing a great job on the BBQ.

Marvellous hospitality thanks Kev and family, from the BBQ, to the little glass momento that we all got. Its always satisfying to clean up an area and see the result, and good too to get the Council on board.
As always, good to catch up with other cachers. Really appreciate the effort that went into making this day a success.

What a great get-to-gether to clean up the Lake Front. The Weather was a tad on the damp side but this did not dampen the enthusiasm or the conversation. It was great to see cachers from far and wide attending and lending a helping hand. Thanks Great BBQ. Kids enjoyed using the rubbish collecting items, in very novel ways. Look forward to the next event wherever and whenever that may be.
Arrived very late 4 this one .... mainly due to a new cache that was planted over our back fence, good the catch up with a few that were still there. Thanks General.
Well done, a successfull event, thanks for organising it, It was good getting to put a few faces to names and helping to clean up the environment to boot.
Satisfying to see a big pile of rubbish once we had finished up! A bit of community work like this every now and again doesn't do anyone any harm.
Thanks to Gencuster and Xmuggle for putting on the feed for us all and the cool Rotorua gifts. Nice to meet everyone.

Thanks for organising the event. Good central location with caches right to hand. Good to put some more faces to names.
Brilliant to meet some local geocachers at the event the weather just held off. Felt good to do something for the enviroment. Thanks RDC for suppling the bags and everything. Thanks GenCuster for organizing a Great event
Dad would not allow me to come 'cause he did not want the Ranger to put me away, but I have to drop off his coins anyway! Something about how they follow him from event to event.
Weather is cloudy but lifting. Does not look as if it will rain. Event is going ahead anyway. [^] Cheers.
Dropped in some new TB's to start their journeys:
A Bloody Good Drop # 1 - # 4: Four TBs to promote the NZ Blood Service in a race to see how many caches they can visit in a year.
GC's Indiana Jones TB - off on a great adventure.
And some others I have:
Travelling Peace Bug
Cache-dog
And of course, my own trackable GeoPin - GenCuster (who else?)

Thought the new date was going to clash too but it now looks pretty certain that we are going to be able to assist with the clean up. Looking forward to it.
Count team HexTheKiwi in! There will be five of us.
We look forward to meeting every one.

I will most certainly be attending this, a little work and a lot of fun Good to see that some out to town cachers are attending, to help out and enjoy the day.
Sorry, although it's very tempting, petrol costs are starting to bite , so we won't attend. We'll save up for it next year.
Date changed to 26th - this means the TT team will be able to attend - yay

I think it would be rude of me if I did not attend - Beside's, I'm bringing the BBQ.
Sorry - all Waikato-ites.
V8 weekend - pity the CITO dates clash.
Hamilton will be buzzing, Rotovegas will be cleaning.
Have fun!
