On way to visit friend in Kyneton, had time to stop here and search for this cache, which we found. Noticed a fisherman trying his luck. Great spot for a cuppa.*
We spent the day around Kyneton catching up with family.
We usually just pass through but today we actually got to explore the local area.
Fantastic to find a cache with a great view.
A few cars in the carpark but no sign of people while we were there.
Thanks for the hide.

Found this cache today. I was chasing isolated caches (at least 2 km distant from other caches) for a New Zealand challenge cache I am doing currently and this was the eighth cache I found today. This was the cache I struggled with the most today. I was in the correct place initally but after not finding it I expanded my search still unsuccessfully. I then returned to the initial location and was just about to give up when I thought I'll just try there and voila there was the cache. I signed the log, took some photos of the dam and continued onwards.
Thanks for the cache.
Thanks for the cache.
The cache should still be there as I didn't physically move it at all, just online maintenance.
Sorry for the confusion.

Travelling around Australia today we explored a few more spots around Kyneton before moving to Woodend.
We are loving our visit to Victoria with soooo much history we are being shown.
Now in Woodend for the next fortnight surely we will be having a bal in this area.

I work very close to here and found this before I knew what geocaching was. An easy find lol
After a long time searching we finally figured out how to use the compass properly! No need to cross the fence.
What a beautiful place for a cache..... easy find, muggle free and beautiful views what more could you want
Nice easy cache too. Lovely spot. Beautifully peaceful spot. Introducing nephews to geocaching. This def getting them keen.
Found it. Very foggy day today. Lovely view. 3rd one found in 2 days!! It's good because I live around here.
Third stop on a caching run north today, trying to outrun the rain. Nice quiet area for BJ to have a sniff around. TN, left a pathtag. Log is a bit damp. TFTC feathertop
Out for a country drive on this pleasant Monday holiday and decided to head to Castlemaine the round about way.
Checked this out for a possible fishing spot. Used to live a few kilometres from here so it was nice to return A quick find and a nice walk to the reservoir. Thanks for the cache feathertop

A surprisingly lovely spot here. We wandered over to GZ and a dog came out to greet us. He was pretty friendly, so much so that even when his owner called him, he wanted to come with us. Thanks for the cache and bringing us here, its nice to tour around an area we don't really know.
There was a nice shady spot to park here, on a hot day
Time for a spot of lunch .... after finding the cache that is
Never look a muggle free cache location in the mouth [:o]
I found me the cache and had it rehidden in a few minutes !!
While I was admiring the voluminous quantities of water lapping at the top of dam, sure 'nuff, up turned the inevitable muggle
Too late mate !! [^]

Out on a motorbike ride with a few friend so when we dropped in to have a look around I couldnt resist starting up the GPS to see what was around and this one was only 50 meters from where we had stopped.

4 seasons today , windy rain sun -open gardens nearby , daffodil festival - the reservoir was running
Found it after a good wander around, well hidden, kept going back to the spot as we were sure it must be there. Stick to the path from the carpark or wear gumboots !!
no more empty dam
the view from the hill looking down at the overflow was marvelous!
thank you feathertop for the cache.

Heading to Castlemaine today grabbing some caches on the way and this was next after making a last minute decision to head this way. Parked in the reserve, the view is just a little different from when this cache was placed with the spillway going hard at the moment, there must be at least 6 inches of water overflowing at the moment which makes for a spectacular sight and well worth stopping here! Wandered off to find the cache and found myself at the fence with 15 odd metres to go. Hmmm, this can't be right so had a look at the the hint, looked down, found the cache! I took an average from my Oregon which I have included in this log. Thanks heaps to feathertop for this one, great place to stop.

Unfortunately not only are all of the trees now chopped down, there is now a fence preventing access to GZ. I think if it's still there, it can't be access without taking on some serious barbed wire.
Sorry to be the bearer of bad news.
Sorry to be the bearer of bad news.
I got to GZ to find collapsed tree, one of many. As it happens the Coliban Water Authority is cutting down many on the Pines trees on the three reservoirs due to them dropping branches and many areas are being restricted.
Some of the trees in the vicinity of GZ appear to be doing the same so it may need to be relocated for safety and access.
Cheers.

We are seeing things that we didn't know were there, and realise stumps play a big part in caching.

I think the co-ords are a little off, it was telling me to go over the fence, until geo-kid found it. Great area for a cache, thanks feathertop, really enjoyed seeing the spillway etc on our holiday in Kyneton. TNLN TFTC.
Found this one first attempt. It was a beautiful spring day. Views were lovely and the water was flowing over the overflow. Thanks feathertop.
Ok, so after coming home the last DNF visit, and studying the logs, I decided that we were looking on the wrong side of the fence. After receiving confirmation from the owner last night, it gave me even more confidence.
Yep, there it was! No need to dodge the cow patties after all!
Anyways, took another reading, just on the path, out from the tree cover.
Thanks again feathertop!

Unable to find in the company of the fiancé on a cold, windy and drizzly day researching places for dinner for our day next March.
Having an average lunch in Woodend, we thought we'd kill around 4 hours in the area by caching.
This one was an interesting journey to get to GZ.
The in-car GPSr took us a country-back-roads way, and must've thought we had an amphibious car(!) as we reached a dead end with the road leading into the reservoir!
Once we arrive in the correct vicinity of GZ, we first approached it from the wrong side of the fence with GZ being some 12m away the other side of the barbed wire.
We found the correct place to hop over the fence and arrived in a cow pat minefield!
We hunted in a approximate 10m radius of the GPSr indicated GZ, but was unable to come up with the goods.
Its really freaky looking back at previous logs attached pictures how dry this place has been.
Thanks feathertop for bringing us here nevertheless.

Great spot, water running over the spillway - lovely!
We searched on the right side of the fence for ages, but no cache. We did consider the wrong side, but thought that would be wrong.

Plenty of people around having a look at the water cascading over the spillway, despite the rain. Cache found and retrieved quickly due to the rain, logged and replaced then back to the comfort of the car. TFTC
Found in the company of Aussie Puschaks, Steph & Marj & Teamppss enroute to Bendigo for a great day caching.
This was my first visit here & was most impressive with the reservoir full. Thanks to teamppss for his log showing photos with it empty.

Some great water views for picnics today as we found this cache with Chelsea08 and Steph&Marj on a drive north toward Bendigo. It is fantastic to see all the dams overflowing. TNLN, TFTC
Yep the reservoir is full to the brim and overflowing at the moment, sounds like it can change dramatically over the course of a year. The cache was easy to find using the clue, dunno how anyone had trouble getting to it I think I saw featherdown & ebbi (sic?) signatures in the logbook, I could be wrong, or maybe their logs will appear after mine goes up.
Dropped in here with our German friend Ebbi and the cache owner.
When the cache was placed here there was just a puddle in the bottom, but not now.
Feathertop will post a photo here to show what has happened.
What a wet year!

Found today whilst going to finally see the Upper Coliban flow over the spillway after the recent rains. Attached are some photos of when we walked to the bottom of the outlet tower in April 2007 during the remains of the drought, we were thinking it may never be full again (how wrong we were). It is a fantastic sight to see when there is finally too much water so this is a great cache to grab this side of Christmas. TNLNSL TFTC
Found by Team Ladava around 6.10 pm
Well I certainly had a bad case of cache blindness when I missed this one around 18 months ago. No such trouble this time as I walked straight up to it and had the prise in hand in less than 30 seconds. Doh.
Another marked difference to the last visit was the amount of water in the reservoir. Totally full compared to a few puddle in the button last visit.
Our thanks to feathertop for the cache and bringing us back to this rather pleasant if windswept location.
Cheers

It was raining today.
There were a few times I wondered what I was doing on such a miserable day.
I got a bit wet but it was worth it to see water in the dam.

A day of Feathertop caches today while toodling around for work. A nice easy find once my GPS settled. It kept putting me well into the neighbours paddock (which you really don't need to go in to!) Only a puddle in the bottom today. The rain showers today certainly weren't enough to do much good either. Thanks for the cache.
This was our first one on the list for the day but when we got there, there were people there so had to leave and it turned out being the last one for the day. Nice area, ive been there many times befor fishing but never really seen the res this empty. Anyway nice find took toy car left a bag of mini pegs. signed log book. TFTC
Coming home from Bendigo after a very enjoyable long weekend's caching this was on the last for the trip home. It's a great little spot that would look so much better if it was full of water. We found this one's predecessor in July 08 and it looks like their is a little bit more water in the stream than what there was then.
Many thanks feathertop for the cache
