Needs major maintenance. Terrain at least 3. Only accessible when dry. Very rough cowtrack.
Enjoying our travels in Tasmania, and finding a few caches. This was one of them. tftc.
After a short walk through the lush green grass the cache was soon located and I attempted quite unsuccessfully to scratch my name in to the sodden log book.
Lots of people camping here but a bit early in the day for us to stop yet. Thanks.

A short and wery wet walk to the cache.
Unfortunately the look book is to wet for writing.

Cache needs urgent maintenance. Has been under water after the flooding recently and log book is saturated.
Easy find but the ground around the GZ is very boggy after the recent flooding.
The cache has also been under water and log is too soggy to write in.

Found during a Friday morning drive from Ouse to Hobart. Looks like it would be a popular free camp in the warmer months but it is pretty wet underfoot at present. The geo-crew stayed put in the car at the top of the hill and I ventured down and over the stile. That's when the real challenge in the bog began and I felt like Neil Armstrong with every step.
Finally made it to GZ to find the cache dislodged and the log wet. At least it survived the flood. Secured it a bit better but it will need some attention from the CO. Many thanks Tasgunsmith

Quick find without getting wet! Managed to get some berries too! TFTC. Camped nearby.
Thanks Tasgunsmith for the cache, although there was a lot of campers nearby the cache was far enough away for then not to see what I was up to so it was an easy find.
Travelling around Australia and spending a few months in Tasmania.
Been meaning to visit Ouse and Hamilton for a while now but never quite got there. Today we did a round trip to make it happen.
We managed to find your cache on our journey.

Left Geo Van at Left of Field and went exploring on an extremely wet boxing day. Round trip planned, caching as we go.
Not a DNF, as I really did not start the search. Arrived at the park, GPS pointing the the direction of a squillion campers, so decided to abort the search early, instead of increasing the chance of the cache being muggled.

We were going to loop around and head back to Hobart at Gordon River Road but decided to continue on a bigger loop and pick up this one, Ouse and Hamilton. Such a gorgeous drive and Meadow Bank is so beautiful!

A great location, Meadowbank is such a nice area. Found fairly quickly once the gps settled. Tftc
Approached the GZ to be greated by 8 campers all sitting on chairs looking at our car......and us. Will come back when there is no audience.
My grandad and I found this cache while on our third day of our Tasmania trip. We were travelling to Strahan for the next part of our trip.
After visiting Mt Field National Park, we found this cache before heading back on to the highway. We were surprised that this area is used for camping purposes. Nice stroll to GZ for a quick find. It was uncovered, so we tried our best to re-cover it.
Our thanks to Tasgunsmith for breaking up our drive and greetings from Canberra!

We found this one during our camper-van holiday in Tasmania.
Thank you for the Cache and greetings from Germany.

Found on a trip out to Derwent Bridge. Stopped here for morning tea. BYO permanent marker... you'll see what I mean. Container replaced but not well concealed. The next person might want to bring some bark or similar to conceal. TFTC

We have returned from Canada to discover a few more Australian caches! What a great way to explore the Land Down Under" ...
Had to pretend we were bird watchers as the family camping there was giving us odd looks when we parked and headed straight for the fence. Cache is wet, lid is missing. Hope the next cacher brings a container with them.
Thanks for the fun Tasgunsmith!

Found with Lumpyjrb on our trip through Tassie. TFTC. Lumpyjrb usually as enough stuff on board to repair caches but did not have anything on this occasion. Please try to repair.
There was no lid and the cache so I place a big rock on top to try and protect the contents.
This cache needs replacing as it has no lid. We found it quite quickly but had absolutely nothing with us to replace it with. TFTC
Visiting Tasmania for a conference and VFR. On a mission today, with two main goals - get up to Mt Wellington, and find caches that are at least 2km from any other published coordinates. First goal accomplished earlier today, so I set off into an area scarcely populated with caches. Due to limited time, I could only go so far, but I have discovered some amazing places!
Not sure about the 'drive by' description for this one... 60m from the closest parking spot, over a stile and rather long grass, with an optional hop into a marsh if you are not careful Cache easily located, possibly also by a few muggles, judging by the R18 entries in the logbook, which the writers were most likely not old enough to read based on handwriting... Lid missing, but logbook dry at the moment. Great spot to visit, albeit a bit strange, with a large piece of wood smouldering in the fire place with no one around... TFTC!!

I am glad we bought a chage of clothes for the kids. Boy it was wet! A lovely little spot that we have never bothered to to stop at before so thanks for bringin us here. The logbook was very wet but we were still able to write clearly in it. TFTC
We had visited here last spring but didn't have suitable footwear on so ventured no further than the fence. Raincoats and boots on today and a quick find. Love the lake and the area in general so thank you for placing a cache here.
Early find for day. Not sure why this one needs to be in such a potentially boggy area but is IS muggle safe. I approached from lower ground where there is easy access over the fence to (private?) cattle property. TFTC. Angus the great GeoWestie assisted by grey nomad Carer Lis Brown en route from Bundaberg Qld to Perth WA via all of Tasmania.
Found on our recent trip around Tassie. What a great place to visit at this time of year. TFTC
Ewwe! Bog for 40 meters! And cow poo to boot! TNLN TFTC. COULD PUT IT IN A DRY SPOT, should be renamed meadowbog.
Unfortunately this cache is temporarily out of action. A sign on the locked gate reads,
'This camping ground will be closed from 4th April until the end of May, whilst Lake Meadowbank is drawn down to allow refurbishment of the Meadowbank Dam Crest Gates'.

Found it on way down to Mt Field, campground closed though due to draining of the lake.

There has been a log of tree felling close to GZ, so the trees at GZ are lying on the ground. However the cache seems safe for the moment in a clump of trees nearby. TFTC.
Lovely day today, wow view penlty of brushfire area as lucky your cache life as easy to find well hide thanks
Too many holidaying muggles near gz - we had to drive on by! A pity too as we chose this road to Maydena just so we could get this cache.
Found the cache lying out in the mud and cow pats. Placed as described in the hint. Beautiful views. Tftc
Day 4 of our escape from the NT trip, seeking some relief from the tropical build up
This was a little adventurous, sloshing through some boggy puddles. Could have swung across on a frayed rope but decided to give that a miss. The last log in here is a huge group of people/kids.

Too many campers parked outside the shelter to try the lakeside access, rear access blocked by electric fence. Another day.
My word, can we re name this one worms, waterfowl and wet? I didn't think it could rain so much. So much that all the worms had left the soil for fear of drowning. However it made the hill down to the cache so slippery. Trying to avoid the the wet and swollen anelids was quite a task. The shelter at the bottom of the hill was being used by ducks and moorhen to keep out of the rain -they were not amused at my approach. And the final field? Oops I mean pond..... Well wet boots and trousers later and cache safely signed.
Thanks tasgunsmith for getting me out of the car

Wow thanks for bringing us here as we travel around Tasmania on holidays collecting a few caches on the way. Now that was a wet walk and the cache was found out in the open.

Would never had known this place existed if we weren't geocaching. Cache not too well hidden upon arrival, but probably far enough away muggle campers not to be a concern. TFTC
I've never been to this area before - I was impressed. Looks like some muggle kids(?) had found the cache before the previous finder, but obvioulsy they hadn't come back or anything because the hide was still nicely in place. Nice one, thanks Tasgunsmith.
Found this one while traveling through on holidays.
The weather was a bit ordinary, however, a nice drive just the same.

Again, as we arrived near GZ, we thopught we may be thwarted by muggles. However the campers were not on site, apparently out on the lake as well. Once we worked out the geography of the place and found how to get access to GZ, a quick find was made. TFTC Tasgunsmith
Quick find, in a safe distance from campers. The smoke in the area was a bit of a worry.

A really nice location and one we could have camped at but we had already offloaded the caravvan at Hamilton (which is also nice). Thanks tasgunsmith
The cache had tow muggle finds from the previous day. It was out in the open. I hid it behind that suspcious pile of rocks. Lovely spot to camp.
Found after a short search, the area was wet under foot but the cache area dry. TNLN Thanks
Nice secluded camping area some workmen were setting up camp but made a quick find. Suprised to find it wet under foot TFTC
This was a great spot to stop for a cup of tea! Infact I decided that I might as well take it for a stroll to GZ instead of sitting around thinking about it I was delighted by the abundance of bird life here. TFTC!
Great spot to stop and have a cuppa tea!! Rainbow Daisy hadn't finished her's so, caching with a cuppa was a first! Have taken "hammer of Thor" TB with me. tftc
We camped in Trecaz Trakkie TB in the nearby campground, then turned on the GPS this morning to find a cache a short distance away. Walked the short distance in the freezing cold and slush, and made a quick find. Took nothing but left the Hammer of Thor TB to continue his travels. Thanks Tasgunsmith.
Having never been to but heard a lot of good about Tasmania it was great to get here for a ten day holiday with Pathfinder24. Even in winter time we had a terrific stay. The rivers were full and the water falls mighty and amazing, and we came across such lovely food and local products in addition to caches on our way around the island. This one we found as number four on our seventh day in Tassie. Easy, quick find but quite wet to get too the cache. Got a good view of the beautiful Derwen valley. Thanks for the cache, Tasgunsmith.
Holiday time for me and Ostara74, and since it is winter we decided the logical thing to do would be head south. Thus, within a few days, we had planned and booked everything we needed and were of on our "Top spots of Tasmania Geocaching Tour". Ten days in Tassie to enjoy this magical in winter! Having only been here in Summer, and Ostara74 had never been here, we were in for a treat. The rivers were bulging, the water falls pumping, the rain forests were extra rainy, and the whole place was wonderfully green and alive. We decided upon a route, grab a hire car from Launceston airport and headed off. Basically, we ticked a few must see places on a map and then decided to simple find other stuff along the way, caching where ever we saw a cache along the route. Wonderfully easy to do when you can load all the caches for the state into the GPS as the same time. This was cache find number four for day seven. Stopped to find this one on our way to Hamilton. The area was very wet, making driving down the hill and bit nervy in the little hire car. A quick squelchy walk to the GZ and the cache was in hand easily. Excellent Coordinates on this one. We signed, and replaced, then headed on our way, wondering if the hire car would get back up the hill ok. Thanks the cache Tasgunsmith.
We've been past this place on many an occasion, but never driven in. Cosy corner, but very wet at present. TN, left geonickel and GPS geocoin trackable. TFTC!
Lovely large area to fish and kayak. Only one camper van in the area today but far enough away that we could locate the cache without being seen. Found quite easily. Thanks for bringing us to this area. Have driven past many times but never taken the turn off to have a look. Will have to come back one day to do the other two caches that require some travelling across the water. TFTC.
Had a camper spending the night here but was far enough away that they wouldn't have any idea what I was up to., TFTC
It's nice to find a great free camping area in such a beautiful location. Thanks for bringing us here. TNDN TFTC
After visiting Polfil's spot I crossed the bridge to find this cache. The camper must have thought it strange that I went over the stile with no fishing gear. TFTC.
geoDad spotted the likely hide whilst geoD was off talking to the inquisitive muggle "cows".

#672 @ 1.00pm on our Tassie Caching Adventure with DazzPete. The area had copped a bit of rain recently as it was pretty squelchy getting into GZ, thankfully we all managed to keep our feet dry. Dad found the cache tucked away whilst GeoD was attracting he attention of the "teenage" steers. Dad had to overcome the cache guardian ants.

Found this one on a chilly morning (-4 degrees!) but it was nice place to visit, especially when the sun broke through the fog! TFTC!
Lovely day, lovely drive, lovely spot. Even the cow-pats were lovely. TNLN, TFTC. We did drive on to Repulse and to Ouse, well worth it (even if we did miss the turn-off to the Repulse bridge and ended up watching harvesting in a pine plantation way up Dawson's Road).
Nice walk down to cache and children found very quickly. Took tb and left marble. Tftc.
Got here at night and had a fun walk in in the dark, and increasing fog. Good fun Cheers Gav [6049]
Lovely cloudy morning over the lake. Left half the team at home and took some friends for a morning's caching. I think they're interested!! TN & left the Buddha TB.TFTC
