Found it - well a rotting wet log book in a dirty old glad bag.
Couldn't sign it. Left signature butterfly sticker, which will probably not stick to such a wet log book.

Oh, dear. We did not have any replacement caches on us, so we could not help out.
THIS CACHE IS OVERDUE FOR OWNER MAINTENANCE.

31-May-07
To future cachers.... ignore the comment about 1969 - it's on the opposite side!

31-May-07
URGENT!
Cache is a bag only, with soggy paper for a log.
New container with new book urgently required.

15-May-07
An easy find, despite the road now being sealed. But the cache desperately needs maintenance, as everything is so wet that I could hardly make a mark in the logbook. It needs a proper snaplock Systema box. No swaps, thanks and cheers from Grandalf(825)

09-May-07
We forgot to let other potential Cachers know.........this cache is NO LONGER on a Gravel road. The road has been tarsealed now for a very long time!!!! So don't go expecting to skid around on loose metal. Wink We TNLN...

08-May-07
Wake Up Waatz.........read the posts below. Everything in your cache is in a dirty soggy filthy mess. We almost threw what was left of it into the running creek below. Thanks Wind for your hint. Managed to make a "mark" in the log book, but it is almost unreadable. Another wet and grotty cache we came across on our trip North!!!!

16-Apr-07
Can only agree with past recent comments. Couldn't really sign log. It must have been a pretty severe flood through here.
TFTC

09-Apr-07
Well, we did! Found easily although cache is dying from drowning in the March 29th flood. Unfortunately log book in not signable it is dripping! Didn't have a spare container or logbook to replace - sorry!!!

08-Apr-07
Found it but its in an awful state. Cache and contents are soaked through. Logbook is saturated, but just managed to peel pages apart and make a mark. The recent high waters haven't helped but I suspect this cache was in a bad way before. Not having a plastic container, only a Glad bag which has several holes in, is not an ideal cache. Needs attention urgently.

08-Apr-07
Cache needs urgent maintence (see previous log).
Don't bother attempting this cache until its been sorted out.

05-Apr-07
Had a look but couldn't find it. No rocks around but definitely the right place. Lots of signs of the flooding, me thinks it has been washed away.

26-Jan-07
Easy find @3pm.ge0rg
no trade

16-Jan-07

01-Dec-06
Quick find but log book very damp. Cache needs to be to be replaced.

23-Nov-06
Visiting from Oz. First time in NZ - v nice. Looked all over the place before finding it this one! It was quite wet but managed to sign the log. TNLN.

19-Nov-06
Easy find once we decyphered the hint, otherwise a loss without it. Silicone dessicant bag helping cache but the logbook really is a write off... desperately in need of new book and narrow cylindrical sealed container, as the torn ziplock bag just doesn't work.

23-Oct-06
Found on a damp Northland afternoon. The cache is totally wet, needs urgent help. I'd say the rock is greywacke.

20-Sep-06
Cache too wet to record log. Took nothing. Left an AA battery to prove we were here.
Conton

14-Sep-06
No visitors in a while then two in one day!
Logbook is saturated, and just useable with a pencil, needs urgent help.

Cache was fairly damp, log still OK though.

Don't know if this one is so much behind the numbers as oposite them. The bag does need replacing as the hiding place has done it some damage.

Found it, in place.

I found it on the 2nd attempt after 2 minutes having a look. I also got to sidetracked by the behind the 1969 clue and it also helps to know what igneous means Smile

Unable to find it. spent half an hour looking.
After reading some past logs I may have been looking in the wrong place Taking the 1969 clue to far. Will go hunting again

13-Jan-06
Got sidetracked with clue "behind the numbers 1969". Cache dry. Dice out, green pea fridge magnet in. Thanks Waatz

08-Jan-06
Contents wet, needs maintenance. Thought there were too many clues in text, may be better as additional hints. Road is sealed now also.

18-Oct-05
A short dirve and the second of the animals is secured but alas i must have missed then animal. Cache is in very poor condition although it is easier to find than the caches that are buried in long grass. TNLNSL

14-Aug-05
Cache was quite wet, so I removed the soap and something moulded I couldn't really identify. Tried to put it in a box but doesn't fit. Sorry.
Don't throw your rubbish in caches! Mazze.

06-Aug-05
Big Grin
More recent rain made us think also that it may have been lost, but determined searching found it. (Unfortunately it is getting wet and staying wet so log is hard to write in and some goodies are getting ruined).

Took Minnie toy, left yoyo.

16-Jul-05
Had been a lot of rain in recent weeks and so I was half expecting that the cache would have been swept away but was still safe and sound. Thanks

17-Apr-05
Found with "5 double letters", think I might have found a new hobby. Took a while to figure out which side of the road, no idea what we were looking for. Not has hard as we were making it. Next time I won't wear stilettos!

17-Apr-05
Found with Shelley. Took a wee while to decide what side of the road to search as co-ords took us to the opposite side as clue stated. Previous logs helped. White board marker and pen out, golf ball, soap, mouse and dog in. Thanks

01-Apr-05
Only took a few minutes to find this cache. Although the container wasn't quite what I was expecting Wink No exchange made. Cheers Gav [492]

01-Sep-04
Found cache at night. Didn't have to search long. Cache rather damp at present. Didn't have much time to let it dry out. Cheers for the drive.
BTW the road isn't gravel any more.
TNLNSL

30-Jul-04
3rd cache of the day. Nice quick find.
Cache was a little damp.
Perhaps the animals living in these caches need to do a little spring cleaning. Left a sachet of silica gel.
Off to Waikaraka Walkway now.
Out - Casino Chip.
In - Something.... although I forget what it was.
Cheers.

06-Jul-04
Didn't read the logs before we went out so were mainly looking for the cache on the wrong side of the road. Red Face We thought maybe it had gone altogether as there was no sign of the rock. Will have a better look on the other side of the road next time we're in Whangarei.

25-Apr-04
Found the 1962 easily enough, but no sign of cache or rock. Went back to notes and noticed log from Spudgun and Pam. Revised search area and found easily, but not quietly (a curse on autumnal defoliation). Log is still dry, but cache contents were soaked. Dried as best as possible and bagged in a new Zip-lock, but this needs some serious drying time and a better container. Thanks.

25-Jan-04
This is no longer a gravel road and the cache was clearly visible lying on the side of the road by the "1962" and no rock to be seen anywhere. the contents are very wet but the log book for now is ok. TN LN
[Pam and I stuffed it into a rock on the other side of the road]

26-Sep-03
Second attempt New Lat Long made a difference. A really nice hidding place. The cache needs a day in the sun it is very wet. Nothing out Nothing in.

28-Aug-03
At last we found it - second attempt. Cache was barely dry.Took pen, left dice.

28-Jun-03
Cache checked and is still alive

07-Jun-03
Easy find - very wet, muddy cache outer bag, but thanks to double and triple bagging the contents were OK. Serious roadworks going on - looks as though this one will be unavailable (or under tarmac) very soon.

We took out the magnifying glass for Jessica, put in a Betti Spagetti and a gorilla stamp.... contents were a bit wet, but not to bad. Cool hiding place Smile

Used clues.
Took marbles left magnifing glass.

[Found]. Looks like the grader had clipped the stone. [Dried contents out as best I could, Eel still there. Rebagged and renested all safe and sound. Sometimes the simple caches are as fun as the major expeditions.]

Gophertrax and I found this one today- our second Kiwi cache while on holiday from the USA. Found coordinates to this cache to be off by several hundred meters! We showed true coords to be:

E 174 22.118
Left Red Planet Visitor travel bug. Took pair of batteries. Someone please bring new LARGE ziplock bag as the old one has leaked!
