Council chopped down GZ and I just don't cache enuff these days.
Good Girl Heidi.. you were an awesome dog!!!!
Good Girl Heidi.. you were an awesome dog!!!!
Well that's just rude.
The council has decided to chop down GZ.
Only took them 10 years to do it after first putting notice up.
Will see what their other plans are for the area before replacing.

Looks like the local council struck… GZ is flattened. This is an adventure I’ll never forget. To be continued…
Have spent a fair bit of time at WP2, even brought a friend, but just cannot find it. It’s possibly still there but perhaps my inexperience doesn’t help. I’ll keep an eye out to see if someone else finds it. Thanks anyway.
Ducked out of work at lunchtime in search of a streak find. I started this one recently whilst attending the Geelong Xmas event but left the final for a day I needed. Straight to GZ today for a quick and easy find. Thanks for placing this cache for us, a nice spot for a stroll along here.
In the area for the Christmas events, so taking the opportunity with omegaman1971 to do some of the local hides inbetween. As all the events were in different areas, it gave a variety of finds by different owners. We only had a few DNF's and made some good discoveries and clever hides during the day. While we met a few other teams along the way, we had some fun and laughs along the way.
This was a nice area to wander and grab what was needed to come up with some likely co-ords to make this quick find.
Thanks VKC1SR for placing the cache for us to find and doing the maintenance to keep it in play.

It looks like Geelong is in full Christmas mode!
Cheers for the cache.

Enjoyable multi. There were a few photographers about today, but more interested in their surroundings, than what we were doing. TFTC
I was down Geelong way for the 3 Christmas events and picked up a few caches between events as time allowed.
Met up at the first event for the day and armed with my morning coffee I got what required at the first stop.
That is a lot of water that has been here.
Found WP1 and with the amount of cachers around a lot of others did as well.
Made my way to GZ and soon had the cache in hand.
Thanks for all of the effort you are putting in keep this one going.
Thanks VKC1SR TFTMC.

Found in the company of Wozzle68, Misschief18 and ExplorerNan, on a daytrip to Geelong and surrounds for the Christmas events.
The first breakfast event was held not far at all from waypoint 1. In fact we had managed to park within a few metres of it before we realised the multi was just here. We enjoyed stepping Explorer Nan through how to work through a multi, and we really enjoyed the prettiness of the final location. TFTC VKC1SR

With a Christmas event near the initial posted coordinates we just had stop and find our where GZ was before we left the event. With the final coordinates not too far away there was time to make the quick grab before we needed to head to Barwon Heads for the lunch time event.
Thank you VKC1SC for the work you have put into setting up this cache and maintaining it

A quick find while in the area with one half of chooknchunk, Misschief18 and explorernan after the nearby Christmas event. We quite enjoyed the walk thank you for the hide.
After attending a nearby meet we decided to head out for some caches. This one seemed pretty easy, starting in the carpark! With a little help at WP2 to point us towards WP3, we arrived in time for another smiley!
With the assistance of a previous finder where I had some difficulty today, I was able to find this cache. It was a nice walk, and I can see why you walk your furry friends here. Thanks for a great multi VKC1SR
Dad and younger son tried but failed to locate back in October. A massive thanks to the owner for replacing the missing cache, so we could put our signature on the log. Tftc
Ok.. the GZ cache has been replaced.. and WP1 is still there.
Rotten muggles.
Happy Caching!!

Yes Bunjil,
I do intend to address the issue with this cache but work and family commitments must always come first.
Hence why it has taken some time to get into Geelong to repair same.
My next lot of days off without the kids will be Monday and Tuesday. Not this week but the next.. 27th and 28th and that was the plan to try and get into Geelong.
If this is an issue then I shall archive the cache straight away.

Loved the walk and the ingenuity at first waypoint. But the final eluded us today, our geo-senses must have been a little askew. Thanks VKC for the adventure.
Got the numbers for WP 1 and looked high and low but nothing. Might need some CO guidance
The Muggle has struck again.
Had a good look around but Wp1 is missing, which is a bugger as now we have to manufacture a new one.
Mr reviewer. . Please give us a bit of time to manufacture same.
Cheers

Spent a considerable time looking for WP1. Even after a PAF who basically told us were and what it was we were looking for - still no find. It has been awhile since it was found,it might need a welfare check.
Its been a big and successful day. Nice easy multi with good coords. Loved the hide at the first waypoint, luckily not too many muggles and definitely no snakes around today!
Another find by the McPhail family... TFTC

Decided to get this cache here. The weather is freezing and rainy today, but there's a sunny moment so a good chance to grab a cache. Loved wp2. That has to have been hard to make. Then off for a short stroll to gz. It starts raining again on the way back, but now I have a chance to test drive my new all weather rain jacket. Happy to report it kept me dry! This was a great cache, ticking the great view box, interesting info box, quirky pre-cache container box and adventure during caching box. I'm adding an fp therefore. Tftc.
Muggles strike again.
Just got a message from another cacher that a friend of theirs has found the cache on the ground and taken it home.
I shall drop past later today and grab the cache and replace same.
Sorry for the inconvenience.

Well what a great multi!
This has been on my radar for ages! I arrived at stage 1 about 6 months ago after school, and after reading the cache page, collecting the numbers and doing the maths I had a likely set of coordinates. Drove to where I thought the next stage was, passing a few birds and parked at the nearest parking spot. Grabbed a nearby EarthCache and after collecting all the answers I decided to quickly try this.
Walked along the river, seeing beautiful sights: A waterfall, Flowers, Birds, Rabbits etc. Arrived at a likely WPT2.... only there wasn't much that was magnetic. Searched all over for about 20 minutes before giving in.
Came back to WPT1 about a week ago and rechecked my sums. Did the collecting and maths all over again and realised my silly mistake. Put the coordinates into my GPS and headed off to a much more likely WPT2. Looked high, low, and in every nook and cranny but could not find anything that looked like a cache or even a disguised micro. So I left it to rest.
Had another look yesterday with the same result.
Found something that might have matched the hint but nothing seemed to reveal a micro. A PAF to a very generous Rampske resulted in coming back this morning. Had a brief look and... YES!! Found the cool micro! Not sure how I missed that!
Came back tonight to try to find the final. A great location, well done! Quickly found the decent sized cache and soon the log was in hand. Replaced it how I found it and headed back to the car smiling. Thanks VKC1SR for a great cache and multi.

Had a spare 20 minutes or so this morning so this was the lucky cache!Arrived at WPT 1 and did my calculations which lead me to a good place for a cache. Was a bit stuck so read the hint and looked up and there it was, very nicely done! Rode to GZ and found the cache in the obvious and only spot and signed the log.
Thanks VKC1SR for this cache now i have to wait for Oscars walk to be enabled to get my Sudoku mind back in action!!

It's a lovely stroll along here - have been past quite often and glad this will finally be a smiley.
Log in good condition, but location quite earwig infested. Bring a stick if you're squeamish

We were out for a walk after work and decided to involve this cache. After doing the required work at the first stop we moved onto the second and had a little trouble until we spotted what we needed. Then we moved onto finding the final. We really enjoyed the walk out and finding this cache.
Thanks for the cache VKC1SR.

Tftc! Exactly what we needed after a few days of massively overeating! Lovely walk with the geodad!
Back in the area thanks to the events nearby so today was time to finally convert this into a smiley while waiting for the next event to start.

out on a night caching with dbelco and alchey. alchey had already completed this one, so wp1 which appeared to give others a problem was a lot easier for us. area was quiet due to the time of night/morning, so retrieval was unhindered, nice fresh log book signed and on to the next location. tftc

Well the first waypoint for this one had us stumped.. Was just about to resort to PAF when Alchey found what we were looking for... Clever, very clever.. Headed to GZ where we soon had the cache in hand, but the log was saturated so very difficult to sign.. Tftc
Out tonight with Roads75 to put a few smiles on the map.
Tried this one once before but ran out of time to search, so back again to continue on. The search for WPT1 had use searching high and low until after an extensive search it all made sense. Set off to GZ to and area I'd never been before, so thanks for bringing me here.
The log was very damp & we struggled to write on the wet paper.
Thanks for the Cache VKC1SR

While in Geelong for the Australia day weekend we decided to dedicate some time to do some multi's. Have to say that the area near the river here is gorgeous and can clearly see why people would come here! The multi wasn't a sinch as we had to scratch our heads a little but you are clever aren't you [^]
Thoroughly enjoyed this cache, thanks for the fun 'VKC1SR'

Found flood levels very interesting and then it was off to next Waypoint. Looked a little too in then spotted when standing. Nice hide frove to gz even tho had dog with me! Tftc
Well aren't you nifty!?
I started this one a couple of weeks ago with my geofriend and her geomum. B.E.A.Uuuutiful day!!! Blue skies, sun shining, perfect for geocaching. But we didn't have enough time to do the last bit. So we just HAD to finish it off today- minus the geoMum. Gorgeous weather again, lucky us.
GZ was a bit iffy with some fisherman but we just waited til they had their backs to us and bang!
This is certainly in my top 5 fav geocache list. One of the coolest things I have ever seen in the hobby, very unique. Thanks for bringing us here and cheers for the cache, hunt, etc =] good one!

Staying down at Geelong for the weekend to attend the events with Team Crackers and watch the fireworks at the Carols by candlelight. We gathered the required infromation and headed off to find the cache.

Did the maths on this yesturday but thought I would do another cache in the area before I went to GZ. I parked in a nearby car park today to be greeted with the banks of the river broken. I have uploaded a photo. I thought it was quiet appropriate really. Log was fine so I signed and covered a little as it was very visible. Very lovely spot TFTC
This is another one that John has been scoping out, without much success until today, when at WP1 we put in to play a strategy which has been useful at other caches, and was inspired by Sesame Street (that will have you wondering!) Nice way to record the GZ coords! Left a geonickel (but not a trackable!), took quite a few wood lice (errk!), SL TFTC!
After gett ing the reuired info the collection fo the cache was made a good find while in town
Found it this arvo.
Very clever.
It was a nice windy walk toward the GZ.
Thanks VKC1SR for the hunting and cache

This is an area I run past several times a week, but had never got around to do the caches here - had been saving them for my 1 cache/day for 101 days personal challenge.
Got out there at 5pm in the rain. Quick stop at WP1, a little longer at WP2, and a quick find at GZ.
I was actually quite lucky at WP2, because even with the clue I was none the wiser. Fortunately I happened to be standing right under it while thinking, and merely reached out to find I had the right object. It is a very neat and crafty container.
Altogether a great multi-cache. TFTC, VKC1SR

My first visit was hurried and unsuccessful. Today I wanted to collect a few smilies for solved puzzles and if I had the chance, the ones that were too difficult last time. (This one)
With a hint from a friend telling me that I was looking in the wrong spot last time I spent another 15mins searching the right but wrong location again. I was just about to drive off when the phone rang.
Yes, I was in the right spot but not quite 'just right'. Armed with a second clue I had the little devil in my hand and admired the handiwork before setting off for my little walk.
GZ offered no trouble thank goodness and the log was signed.
I really enjoyed the walk and now that this is crossed off my list I can say it was fun. I won't forget this place at all.

Finally after three other attempts I found this one. We had the whole family looking for it. What a great disguise. Because this is an area that I spend a lot of time in it was driving me crazy not finding it straight away.
Now marked as a favorite for me. Searched hard for WP2 and in the end the hint was obvious. GZ find was relatively easy after that. A lovely area to go caching. TFTC
Very good. My favourite cache so far. First co ordinates took about 6 attempts to find. Great disguise!
OMG! WP1 was rediculii! Had to get the geo-parents who were visiting to show us the trick. 2 years but finally found it!!
The clue for the first way point was good, but it took us a while to figure out which, or what kind of crowd it was referring to. Very clever! Finding the actual cache was almost an anti climax.
Loved it. TFTF

I grabbed this as one of about 40 in a nice weekend down on the coast.. It was the last weekend before I started back at work. I was keen to cache, and was encouraged down this way by the chance to Orienteer, Body Board and Cache.. I ended up also staying the night, although the original plan of attending an event at Ballan didn't eventuate.. Had a great weekend, thanks to the various cache owners for your part in a great weekend..
Numbers grabbed.. all that was left was a nice walk.. past the RC boat captain and other muggle riders.. Thanks VKC1SR for the cache.. #3386

Second DNF for the day. Worked out the co-ords and was sure we in the right spot for WP1 but our searching skills weren't up to scratch today. Will try again another time!
Found on a trip from Meredith to Geelong this arvo with Sully1.
WP1 took a bit of time until the clue gave us the heads up on what to look for.
Very clever. Then it was a nice walk to GZ where the prize proved much easier.
Thanks VKC1SR for this nice little multi

The clue for WP1 proved most useful to bogonghazy and myself here today. After some fruitless searching, the clue for the finals was soon spotted by bogonghazy after checking the hint. If only we'd trusted the perfect co-ords in the first place Anyway it was then onto the Final, where this time, the cache quickly revealed itself without any hint. Thanks to VKC1SR, for this Multi on a pleasant walking track with lovely surroundings.
great multi way point 2 hide fantastic enjoyed the walk in the dark with ogrebeast tftc
this was our last one for the night with Teamranger worked out co-ords to retrieve cache for hidden way point . then proceed to enjoy our walk to GZ found it quiet a ways away so rang geo wife to come and pick us up from GZ TFTC
Always a lovely walk, and tonight was no exception. Great to see this cache back online, and while it lasts(!). After proceeding through the stages, snaffled this one @ 17:35, while out with the furry cacher on a late afternoon constitutional. The final cache proved to be an icky affair... currently home to lots of slugs and slaters. Quite crawly retrieve, in-between out and about muggles! Once brushed aside, log signed, and bean left, all good. Back home we go! Thanks for putting this one back online, VKC1SR. Appreciate the work. Cheers!
Have placed this back out today as the trees for GZ have been given a second life (for the moment).
Enjoy

Turns out the council have decided to shop down the 15 year old trees along the river bank and plant new sapling gum trees.
The locals are up in arms about it trying to stop the chop... but it is still on the cards for next week.
Rather than lose the cache I have temporarily disabled it.
If need be we will relocate the cache and adjust the clues accordingly.

It took a long time for the penny to drop at WP2. Had to pick a rainy day to do some good investigating without any muggles around. The hint was very helpful in finding the sneaky co-ords. Took the geodog for a walk this morning and made the find. The cache is very exposed at the moment as there is no camo on it. I couldn't find anything nearby to use unfortunately. TNLN TFTC
Parked right at WP1 and got the WP2 coords from the drivers seat! Walked to WP2 where I would love to say "quick find and off to WP3" but that would be telling fibs! Spent quite a while hunting between passing muggles, sticking my head into the large number of potential hiding spots until it finally clicked. A very clever hide. From here GZ and the cache was very straightforward. Thanks to vkc1sr for this one
AMAZING HIDE!!!!!! the first wp was near impossible and also kinda scary but the second was quite easy. GREAT WORK!
First find is a little tricky, had a long hard look, had to make a call to Bushfire for a hint, I doubt we would of ever found it, Bushfire clarified the hint a little more, very clever hide, well constructed, then off for a walk with the dog and kids. Lovely warm sunny morning walk which was made better by some kids with their radio controlled boat which broke down out on the river and one of them stripped down to swim out and retrieve it. T4TC. TNLN.
Great location made it to wp1. Lots of muggle activity. Unable to find.
No success this visit will be back when less muggles.
No success this visit will be back when less muggles.
Four visits to find WPT2, but managed to find it with only the clue in the cache notes - although even that had me looking in the wrong place for a while! First thought upon finding it - you've got to be kidding!! (Don't think anyone saw the slightly maniacal laughter which followed.) Even after the fact, I'm still amazed I managed to find it! Fortunately the cache was no problem after that! Thanks VKC1SR!!

We started this one on our last trip to Geelong but having arrived at gz we were muggled out. We went away and came back and there were still muggles there. We returned today and were very happy that we didn't have to collect the information again and were able to go straight to the cache. Had we been here a couple of days earlier we probably wouldn't have been able to do that either and even so the water level was still extremely high
