No sgin of the floods reaching the cache but no sign of the cache either. Time to think about other options at this location.
3rd one for the day in the Brendale area and what a pretty little spot. The water was flowing fairly quickly and made a soothing gurgling sound as I hunted round it's edge. My GPS kept changing it's mind and wouldn't give me anything, so i tried the little gery horse who'd been watching me from the shade of the trees. I'm sure it knows exactly where the cache is, but even with a good ear rub, n a few compliments, wouldn't give up the hiding spot. So many good places to hide a cache in this area. Each time i found a new place to look and came up empty i thought, why wasn't it hidden here, why wouldn't u put it there, that spot would have been great. Then i found it....that's why u didn't use the other spots Signed log at 12-13pm, said goodbye to little grey and headed off to the next cache. Great hide, really enjoyed my time at this quiet, peaceful place. Thanx for bringing me here ruzzelz
love the spot, lovely walk and great hiding, found easy enough and found a huge spider under the tile hiding the cache, TFTC
Third time's a charm - apparantly not. Our first attempt was foiled by muggles fishing nearby. Second attempt foiled by one big stubborn horse standing right where our GPS indicated GZ was. Geo-kids loved the other big friendly ones though. Third attempt - even though there were muggles with puppies having a splash and farmers rounding up horses, we gave it a real go - came out empty handed though. Lovely watching the puppies having fun and seeing the largish fish swimming past.
Second find of the day and a great one at that. This was our first attempt at this one and I must say I always feel an immense satisfaction at finding a ruzzlez cache. It's hard work, for your brain and your body but always worth it.
A beautiful spot, the air rich with the smell of horse and cow manure, and spoiled only by the young man on the ATV

The geokids were thrilled to get up close to the horses and give them a pat while I drew on my childhood to access the cache. The rain that had been coming down all day had turned the little creek into a gushing torrent. It made for a great noise at the causeway. Thanks for bringing us here.
beautiful place early in the morning. we stayed and watched the horses going for a run for a little while before begining our hunt for the cache. nice easy find in a very peaceful place. would be a great place for a picnic except for the horse poo.

What an amazing area!!! This one goes on the favourites list [^]. The hide was great, the location was great. Should have brought (healthy) snacks for the horses. TFTC ruzzelz
Our last for the day, we were approached by the owner of the property. We explained what we were doing, maybe we have another interested cacher!!!!!
Last find for the day. Have to say I've never been so close to horses before and it was a very pleasant experience if at first daunting. Scratched around for awhile then came up with the goods by using skills not practiced in years and years. After celebrating the find we met the landowner who was interested in what we were up to! (email to follow)

I still can't believe I walked into an area where there were animals loose, nearly losing it when one clip clopped on the concrete path following us. The things I do for a smilie!
Nice area, some of the horses here are real pretty horses, some were not getting on too well but they were away from us, easy find. TFTH
The Pride of Ogres and I had a thorough look where Mr Garmin took us but we were unseccessful.. A lovely spot.
246 - Found this one today at 10:48am, on about our third visit to this location. There was no one around today - on our previous visits there were people hanging around the nearby property which made a full search awkward. Found it almost straight away today. TFTC ruzzelz. It is great to see the water still flowing through this area.
At 15:57.
Our second try and we nearly failed again. Cyndi had already looked there but we decided on one final check.

3rd one for tonight the geocaching gods were good to me on the last one so i had a skip in my walk . got to the gate on the north side of the river walked down and 70mtrs from cache there was a river!!!! the path just ended! Well full of hope i was going to out smart the weather, I decided to cross the pipes to get to my goal.. After a slow crossing of the slippery pipes in the clouded dark raining night and stepping over a low part in the fence thinking "This is not right" I was left on the south side of the river with my GPS pointing to the North 23mtrs The weather won. So I went back across the pipes and continued to look along that side and found the cache after searching several places.

No luck. The creek was running pretty high so we didn't get down amongst the roots. If that is where it was it is likely to be gone again. Should the last log also be a DNF?
The Additional Hint left us completely puzzled.
An interesting place with horses and muggles everywhere on this pleasant Easter Sunday afternoon.

Got as close as possible for this one, but the water was running very high so the road was closed.
A few horse riding muggles looked on strangely so passed up on looking. Will save this for an other day.
Thanks

Even leechs can get washed away. I suspect I'll need to check on this one- maybe somewhere off Redcliff by now.
23/11/2008 - The flood water was still across the creek so I could not check on the cache from the Southern approach.

Found on the way out to strathpine, quick find, and we met a horse, I asked if he was also seeking the cache.... he said neigh Thanks for the cache, Amdrew and Maryan.
A easy find by a nice stream. Saw 2 horses, 2 cows, a blue heron and a white heron. Fortunately didn't need the information about leeches, but perhaps you could set up a similar cache about ticks, as Mr W.E.K.A. found one on his back the next day. TFTC

What a gorgeous spot! Never knew it was there, but I'll make sure I visit again! Kids enjoyed paddling in the creek which was flowing nicely thanks to the recent rain.

Nice spot here. Very peaceful. Took a couple of minutes but with some good searching the cache was in hand. Thanks.

Found on the Brisbane Caching Invasion with Steeba and The Rats. We almost gave this one a miss when we read the cache name but once we read the description we realised all was OK. Steeba almost went for a swim though.

In Brissy for a caching blitz with Steeba and Big Matt. The local animals didnt seem to worried by our presence.
Thanks for the hunt and there werent any leeches.
Thanks for the hunt and there werent any leeches.
Found after applying a little bit of logic. Kids were fishing down by the river and the horses showed little interest in our presence. We left the Roy Rogers and Dale Evans Geocoin which wanted to be near horses. We had had it a bit longer that we planned so hope the next cacher can move it along more swiftly. TFTC
When I left the trail and approached GZ I quickly realised i'd worn the wrong shoes in my hurry to leave the house this morning. Sandals were not the best choice!
I hunted around (and nearly fell in the river once - i'm blaming my shoes!) and eventually spied the cache. I signed the log and took off before crows and horses attacked me - TNLN, TFTC.
As I returned to the car I noticed someone on a bike in my review mirror stopping on the bridge just near GZ. Another cacher or just a coincidence. I stayed in the car to see if they jumped off and pulled out a GPS but they just sat on the bike.

this has everything i love about geocaching, taking me to this fantastic spot deep in the heart of industrial town. I have had hollidays in places a lot less pleasant than this. well done!!!
Another pleasant stroll in a rural area. Quick find but a bit of a chore to get the cache and put it back. Lots of crows about adding their voice to the country sounds. TN/LN/SL and dodged the postie hooning along the bike path on his rounds. This must be a spectacular spot when the water's running high.
Nice spot of rural land - I wonder for how long? Again I am pleased I was with Geohusband as I certainly couldn't have retrieved the cache without him! TFTC
5:35pm Took a bit of looking but eventually Mrs vinthe2nd spotted it. Lovely spot. TFTC.
672 We hope that this one isn't flooded away as well but with all the rain you've had up here, I wouldn't like to take bets. TFTC ruzzelz
It took a while to finally get this one!
A lot of places to hide a cache at GZ, looked for a while before I read a previous log and it all became clear

Hadn't realized that this one was disabled. I confer with URDERA, I spent a good 15 minutes looking in all the nooks around GZ, but came out without the goods. Water level last week would have been around the base of the trees, so if cache was at this level then it may be somewhere down stream.
Jerry.
Jerry.
I'll have to check out the situation, maybe the cache was not above the tide level last weekend.
We approached this cache through the sporting grounds only to find the gate locked at the end of the road! After a 1.5km walk to the cache we were eager to find it (especially as we had not realised that there was another way to the location which would have involved a much shorter walk from the car!) After 15minutes of searching came up empty not sure if it may have been swept away as the water level in the area has been up quite high. Will return again in the future for another attempt!
Found at 0747 an easy find foung a convienent log to write up my entry in the book.

Well after patting the horses with the geokids - then playing with all the black bean seed pods. The container can be boats you know and then the boats can be pelted with the seeds. Hmm this filled in quite a while before we could move on from this cache. Thanks for another Ruzzelz cache. We took a bouncy ball and left a smiley stress ball and a growing animal.
This was our thirteenth cache of the day with our geobuddies the MadMyers. We all had fun commenting on the 'interesting' drawings on the path and then using them as hop-scotch courts
The cache was easily found and a few swaps were made. Then the real fun began. Those black bean pods can be the source of such imaginative games! [^]
On the way back to the cars we stopped again to chat with the horses. (see photos)
Thanks for yet another cache!

Found by Sunshine Toledo at 11:30am. I was approached by the local farmer who asked, "Are you lost, Oldtimer?" I'll take that as a positive and replied, "No, I was just looking at the creek." "So it is still there, then." (smarty) "It's looking pretty healthy," I said, and got in the car and left ASAP. I think GZ might be watched. TNLNSL TFTC

What a beautiful beautiful spot. I can't wait to come back some time soon to walk along this path. I had no idea it was here. And there were no leeches thank goodness. There was a quad bike driving around but we managed to grab the cache in between laps. Swapped toys. Dropped TB. TFTC.
I had no idea about this hidden away cycle track, I'm sure it's a great shortcut.
What a pleasant place it was today with a few horses grazing nearby and the river flowing.
I agree with Wingaap that the repetitive artwork along the track sure is primitive.
Thanks ruzzelz for the cache. TNLN

No luck today, tried twice, first time there were muggles, dogs and loose horse, the second time, just the loose horses which scared geo toddler.

Ahhhhhhh!!! Leeches!!! The attached picture for this cache had me screeching and running away from the computer. I have an irrational phobia of leeches. Having said that - a cache - called leeches - not far from home - can I? We'll see.
Drat! One of my secret short cuts on the pushbike is now public knowledge [:o]
I have used this quiet biketrack for years to cross the Pine and avoid the main roads. It's even better now that the path has been cemented and the carpark has been closed to keep out the hoons and rubbish dumpers
Always a peaceful spot to take a break
TFTC ruzzelz. No leeches found today [^]

Hmmm I don't know about the leeches. Perhaps I was still locked into a time warp with having visited a nearby cache. Then again perhaps it was simply something else. The first thing that stuck me about the area was the primitive art work which adorned the track. It this some ancient fertility symbol [?]
The next thing that surprised me was the fact that it's necessary to chain up trees. Is crime that rampant in this area
Now to the cache....an easy stroll to gz and the cache was soon to hand.
The geohound and I had a great time in the creek I'm not sure who ended up the wettest as we were both soaked by the end of the game.
Thanks Ruzzelz....for the cache and the introduction to this dark and ancient land

Who would have thought it? Almost amidst the Brendale industrial estate there's still this quiet country area. I'm trying to forget a recent misfortune however, that involved a flat car battery. Thanks go to the friendly local who saved the day. LEFT: Nerf ball. TOOK: Unite For Diabetes TB. SL. Thanks ruzzelz, I'll definitely be revisiting with the geocycle and I'll bring some bread and/or an apple.
Drove past, but muggle children were playing in the river, so DNS. Will try another day.
An easy find, but we were too slow for the FTF - Stinky Bill had beat us to it. Left Diabetes TB and Blue Gold geocoin. TFTC
First to find... and first time to log THAT little statement! We were surprised and excited to see a blank log book.
Glad we brought our kids and the dog along the ride for this one - proved to be a great distraction for the OTHER kids that were playing in the river

I spent the day caching with "ruzzelz" today and heard that he had put this cache out for us all to find [^]
Having actually seen and read the cache notes this evening, I am having trouble standing, as my sides are aching from laughing
Apparently there may be some truth in the bit about, and I quote "It is generally accepted that strong (maximum strength or tropical) insect repellents do help prevent bites." [:o]
It's just a pity that ruzzelz only sprayed said maximum strength repelent on just his socks on todays walk. So the leeches bypassed them and went straight through his shoes instead
I quietly smirked as I watched ruzzelz shake at least half a dozen of our slimy, blood sucking friends out of one of his shoes at the half way point of our walk today
Mind you, I didn't fare much better and probably lost more blood
