Up early and decided to head out early making the most of the lovely weather to pick up a few caches on my way to the International Earthcache Day 2024 event at Vaughan Springs. The cache was found easily and my name entered in the log. I can only imagine the treachery of negotiating the corkscrew road the this gorgeous old bridge. Thanks Team Ladava for the cache and showcasing this timeless bridge.
Something special or unusual goes here:A quick find in the obvious spot. The Generic Bit:The 2024 Geocaching Victoria Event Crawl: Day 3: The Crawl from Sunbury to EchucaTwo days of traveling over from S.A. and three days of Events, numerous Adventure Labs, lots of fun, mishaps, and even a few caches found as we crawled around in search of smilies. My companions for the Crawl were Muff1. So Good to catch up with lots of caching friends. [:X]***Thanks Team Ladava for putting out this cache and maintaining it for our enjoyment. *** Logs prepared and published through GSAK.
Brisal5 and ourselves had made the decision to attend 'The Great Victorian Cache Crawl' , with Brisal5 arriving at our home on the Thursday evening. The journey started Friday morning with both of us picking up the odd cache as we travelled towards Riddell Creek for the prequel event and then onto Sunbury for our overnight accommodation. The first event of the official weekend was at Maccca's and the excitement was building, then it was time to find caches and AL's along the road and onto Malmsbury for morning tea. Unfortunately it had started to rain with umbrella's and rain jackets out in force. The next stop was Bendigo where we were warmed up with micaparmedic's fantastic soup, thank you, here we caught up with friends and the usual geocaching chatter was all around us. I am sure you have the gist of how our weekend went, finding caches, chatting, eating all this on a loop until we arrived in Seymour for the final goodbyes. We cannot thank the committe enough for this exceptionally well organised weekend. All the caches and AL's that we found were all in good condition and not requiring any maintenance. SL TFTC
I would never have known about this bridge. Thanks for placing the cache here. All in order. Cheers.
Oops, forgot to walk down to the bridge. Oh well, at least there is a photograph in the cache descriptions. Thanks for the drive-by!
After locating this vintage cache I took myself for a wander down to the old bluestone bridge as suggested. It didn't disappoint! Thanks for bringing us here Team Ladava. Cache on
The last time we passed by here was on the other nearby road at about 100 km.Today, I found myself on the Corkscrew Road.I also found this cache.Thank you.
After a difficult walk up mt Holden, I needed a nice easy cache for my ausmerThank you for the adventure
TFTC l have lived in the area for some time and didnt know this bridge existed. Thanks for placing this cache here.
Over thought that one, stepped back, looked again and there it was, thanks.Watch out for thorns
A nice quick find just after dark here for me. Unfortunately I didnt see the feature this cache was designed to highlight but it was an enjoyable stop anyway. I lucked out with the weather for this trip. I arrived just after the last of the heavy rain and although some clouds threatened it remained dry for the rest of the day, albeit quite muggy. The same could not be said for the ground which was soaking wet with water flowing everywhere, gravel and soil washed over tracks and roads, and everything else washed clean and fresh.Down the Corkscrew Road is find number 3,290 for me. A great small traditional cache I enjoyed finding as part of a caching outing to the Riddells Creek, Gisborne and Sunbury area. Unless otherwise mentioned above, I found the coordinates to be accurate, the cache in good condition and the log dry and with plenty of room to sign. I am logging this one on Wednesday 27 Dec 2023 but I actually found it yesterday. Thanks for placing this cache for the rest of us to enjoy Team Ladava.Found with Geooh GO
TFTF 25/12/23 on our way home from a day out. We havent been to the bridge in a long time the plums were delicious TeamStyx.
Visiting Melbourne from Port Macquarie. In the Sunbury area for a couple days.Road was fairly busy today, but plenty of room to pull off and make a quick find. Thanks for the cache
Out in the Macedon / Gisborne area today stumbled across this cache on the way home. Quick park and stamp and grabbed the pathtag. TFTC
Seventh find on a route I put together last night to reignite my enthusiasm for caching. TN, left pathtags. TFTC
Thanks for this piece of history: a bit overshadowed by the roar of the Calder. TFTC
Sorry for the very late log. I forgot to come back and finish my cache logging this day.Grand final Public Holiday and with my team the mighty Tigers not so mighty this year I had arranged with AusFox; to go out caching for the day. We thought it best to stay clear of Melbourne for the day and decided the caches around Long Forrest would be a good place to start our day. What a Beautiful day to be out caching with the sun shining it was almost too hot out here in the bush.Thank you Team Ladava for the find
What a glorious day to head out caching with SimsFamily starting out at Long Forest through Gisborne and back home through Diggers finding great caches on the way.Its the simple things that make a cache fun. It helps to get a handle on things.Log signed and replaced as found. Thanks for the traditional cache Team Ladava #7,577
A quick find whilst in the area to visit our daughter before she heads off on her European adventure. Tftc
I had a number of plans for today's geocaching run. They included :-
20 caches in Macedon Ranges LGA.
12+ caches in Moorabool LGA.
12+ caches in Melton LGA.
CITO, Event and Tree Attribute in new LGA.
2002 old geocache.
And most importantly - Geodetic Survey Way Point.
Not sure about Melton & Moorabool LGA numbers, will have to recheck LGA borders but had a great day with 41 finds in total, in lots of different environments. Highlight would have to be Mt Macedon.
First find of the day at 7.10 am. Both Ira a bit fresh and looks like 2 'vehicles' spent the night here.
Thanks for the cache Team Ladava

Nice quick find on my way to rehearsals in Macedon. Keeping my daily streak going.
Out and about with Echidna44, we were targeting caches around the Sunbury area. We navigated the Corkscrew road and found the cache after a short search.
Out caching in the Sunbury area with BoabTree. This was an easy find once we worked out where to park. I love the title of the cache, and having looked at the Historic Bridge, agree it would have been quite challenging to negotiate with horse and cart. Thanks Team Ladava.
Another fine location chosen by Team Ladava. I approached GZ from the south on Napier Road then did a U-turn at the corner of Millett Road so I didn't cross the double lines, then drove south and parked on the verge close to GZ. The cache was exactly where I expected it to be. The cache is in good shape but the log is damp. If I had a hair drier in my car I would have fixed the problem. SL TN L an old half penny. I walked down the hill to the old bridge. It's in excellent condition. I don't like the thought of driving horses and wagons, and later old cars down the hill, across the bridge and up the hill. Thankyou Team Ladava for bring me here today.
Good location. Found fairly easily. Placed a dollar to bet on the Bombers to win today. ANZAC day
Found on the ground, empty water out, stamped log and replaced where it should been. Thanks to CO
TFTC,
Our last chance to build LGA's before going to the Ferry for the crossing where this years National Riley Rally is being held.

Coming home from the Whittlesea mega, i came across this cache. Pulled up on the side of the road and discovered this cache rather quickly. Signed the log and was good to go. Alll looks to be in good condition with the cache, Thanks for the hide.
Out on a beautiful sunny day with the geo-son collecting some close to home caches. We like this quiet spot and left an aeroplane themed swap. TFTC

Day trip to Melbourne for an airport pickup, so decided to nab a few new shires. Including here. This one was a bit off to the side, but an easy find once we got here. A lovely spot with the hum of the freeway over 'there'.
Thanks Team Ladava for entertaining me at this location.

Took longer than it should have to find with chick614... should have looked in most obvious spot first.
A nice quick cache on our way back home after an unexpectedly sunny Saturday drive to Castlemaine. Nice to get off the freeway to see this sweet little bridge. TFTC

Great hide. Didn't get the chance to see the bridge due to all the rain the night before making it very muddy and slippery.
Nice easy find, cache looks to be all in good condition lovely view out here. Thankyou
I have zoomed past this place for years and always wanted to walk down to to the bridge.
The drivers of the past must have been brave indeed.
Cache in good condition thanks for the adventure.
