After overnighting at Peak Elanora, Peak Charles Summit was our next destination. Favourite point added straight up! Tough climb, excellent views and I found two caches. A new-ish one under a bush and the original black sistema.

If you get a chance, put this one on the list! Getting this high in goldfields/wheatbelt is fantastic. Lots of photos added for everyone too.

My GPS gave me 456m elevation and 4km round trip just under 2 hours return. The hike up is a ripper and not easy at all. About 200m from the top you have to crawl up a granite face with only small holds. Looks like a lot of people stop here (we also found an archived cache from 2009 in the rock cairn too).

konggirls, I found Views of Eleanora today. Thanks for placing and maintaining this cache.

We would have lived to go ask the way to the peak but we didn't feel up to the walk.
We went to mushroom rock and relaxed in the Cool shade and enjoyed the view from there.

Perfect day for a climb of PC in this amazing location.
Cache in good condition but a pity I didn't bring any of my scout badges to swap.
World scout badge and 50th Jubilee badge still here.

Tried hard to get this one but the last section to the top was a bit beyond me

Okay this one comes into the quality not quantity category. My wife and I summited yesterday and only as we got to the bottom did I think there would be a geocache up there. I was very annoyed that I missed out. Well the next day we decided to go rock climbing at one of the crags, as it turned out we couldn't find the crag and ended up half way up the mountain again, so as to avoid the complete waist of time I went up to the top again and found/ signed geocache. Great views of the Temperate Woodlands and massive lake systems. The container is in good condition. Thanks for the Cache Smile

Back again in this beautiful park enjoying the long weekend with friends. Sent the geo-hubby up the hill with a new cache to replace the old.

We climbed up on this very windy day, we were exposed to some hard wind gusts every now and then. When the really steep and open part began we decided to split up. The 'shorter and lighter' half of our party found a place a little bit out of the wind with fantastic views. The much taller and stronger half continued and made his way up to the top. It took a bit of searching to find the cache as the coords were about 7m off, but eventually found it. The area was guarded by a rather large but shy brown snake that immediately slithered into hiding under rocks, the same rock patch of the cache but some distance away. It made the sport of sticking hands under rocks to find the cache a bit more entertaining. Of course, you have to sign the log once up there! Then the real challenge starts. Getting up is relatively easy, but getting down........
We would have done the walk anyway, but finding a cache makes it even more rewarding.
Great place, with a fantastic campground. TFTC!

Thanks for the hide KongGirls. Went by this one on our last trip to Esperence looked up at the hill and went not today. This weekend we camped at the new campsite. On the first night we made the trip half way up the hill before rain made it too slippery. Retreating back to camp we set up for the night. Fantastic new facilities.

In the morning we made the track up the hill to the cache. In the dry it was much easier and we were soon at our turn around point. A bit of rock climbing and we were at the summit. The cache was a little hard to find but we found it after ten minutes. Not going to do this trek and not sign a log. We found a new pencil on the cache as well as the pen we bought up.

The container is old and staring to deteriorate around the edges. If the next person could bring up a container.

Drizzle and wind decided the outcome. Was within 13 metres of cache when decided it was not worth the risk as boots not gripping on the wet rocks and still had to get down. Have to try again in fine weather. Enjoyed the climb and amazing views before the weather closed in. We last climbed it in July 1988 for my 50th birthday outing. No geocaches then.

Went there today. Was really excited about this cache as its a bit outta the way and not many ppl have gotten to it. I was so devastated not to make it all the way to the top. HOW THE HELL DID THE GEOCACHERS BEFORE US GET UP ALL THE WAY TO THE TOP?!? Its a solid hike, but easily do-able for most fit people up until ~50m away from the peak, where it gets so ridiculously steep, that you will have crawl up on all 4, on bare rock with steep drops to both sides and sidewinds along the ridge. Im a 22 year old young and thin lad and Im really puzzled as to my fitness right now... /w abbst3r

Don't want to say I did not find it. I just could not get there.
This is not an easy climb for an old bugger over 60. You not only need to be fit, but you need good knees, ankles, balance, and agility.
Got a good 2/3 of the way though.

This was worth the detour! we enjoyed the 4wd tracks around here as well as the climb.
I found it quite an adventure as a no climber and enjoyed the views off course.
We did it at the hottest part of the day but the breezes made it doable.

We found it was hard to find took 30 min of searching but was worth it in the end. I have posted a hint on how to find the cache. The container was broken and some of the contents were wet would advise the next searchers to take a new container. Took a pirate figurine and left some tattoo's. TFTC]

I had to move a rock out of the way to find it under another rock.

Climbed to within 160 meters of the summit but found the last bit abit daunting so did not attempt to go furthur. Some younger companions did reach the summit but were unable to locate the cache.

Fabulous still morning with views for kilometers. Numerous wildflowers out and saw 4 Wedgetail Eagles soaring above the peak.

Went to peak charles with the Ravensthorpe enduro club on Saturday, got up early sunday morning to tackle the cache. I think i would have been half way up when a gust of wind came through which made me lose my nerve, i decided to head back down.
Next time (soon hopefully) i will be a bit more prepared and will get the cache.
