With 20-40mm forecast for tomorrow we thought we should head out today to find some of the caches we had planned to do tomorrow. After a lovely lunch and a Gin and tonic at the Oatlands Distillery we headed out for a couple of hours of caching. We were so glad we did as the weather ended up being ok despite the very cold wind. Thats a lot of bags. Quick find and sign TFTC
In Tassie for the next few months. So many great places to visit and so many different caches to find.Out meandering around these roads picking up a few hides along the way. This was one that was found. An easy enough find at GZ.Thanks polfil for placing the cache and doing the maintenance needed, so we can find this cache.
Exploring the country towns and the age of this cache had appeal, as did the description. A nice quick find, which is good as my muggle son is tolerant, but it had been a full day! Cool location, thanks for the cache.
I've lived in Tassie all my life and probably driven past Tunbridge 1000 times. I knew exactly where the cache was when driving in. I had a quick look, and realised it needed some maintenance so decided to walk the lake first.
The cache hadn't been found since Feb and this arvo I found both its plastic bag coverings in poor shape. Slugs and worms had infested the only just in one piece plastic bags and spiders had taken over the outside of the cache. I carefully removed all resident arachnids and resealed the cache as best I could with what I had in trusty Chester the van, 2 plastic bread bags and a rubber band. Cache and contents all good.

A very cute little area that we would never have come to if it wasn't for geocaching

Nice little walk down to the lagoon, a quick and easy find, cache is nice and dry but a family of little red spiders has made its home in the container area.

Down in Tassie for a break before Christmas and continuing our travels around the country, wow the countryside is absolutely glorious. Happy to say we came up trumps here and walked away with a smiley TFTC
One last cache to grab in Tunbridge, this one was driven to today in dryer conditions [^]
The cache was found in great conditions and also dry inside
SL at 12:03 on TGIF 26 November 2021.
Nice lagoon with lots of ducks and swans there at the time [^] [:x]
Gotta love a good wet Spring

OK! It’s time to do something. This cache is very unlucky. Lately disappearing to often, way? I’m thinking to change spot to hide. I will do this in the beginning ( January) next year. Sorry!
Despite rummaging around for some time and seeing obvious signs of activity from others, no joy for us today at GZ
We stopped here on our way back home today. I walked up to the suspected GZ and started searching. I looked under most rocks that look like they could accommodate a cache. All I found was a spider and some earwigs.
Suscoe woke this morning to steady rain and a cold breeze.
We were heading to Hobart today and we had hope of finding a few caches on our way along the roads that we travelled.
The rain started to clear later in the morning and we ended up having a fine but cold afternoon.
The rain coats were broken out for the first time this trip.
Thanks to Polfil for this hide, like a few before us we went a few metres to far and had to reverse out in low ratio. That mud has a strong smell too.
So once the car was parked the walk in the rain to GZ happened.
All good here today apart from the rain and the windchill.

Cache is back and ready to be found. There is a new box, new Logbook, two small pencils and pencils sharpener. Have a good time!
Not sure what the issue is here but 5 could not find it suggest CO maintenance on the cache to confirm it is still there also clarification of the hint would be good.
We looked for a while at GZ but couldn’t find it. There seemed to be no spots it could be that we hadn’t searched
Nice spot though.
Nice spot though.
A super spot. Had no idea there was a salt lake here. TFTC!

out and about with Lil Rafa caching, beautiful spot lagoon was low , nice colours in the area, TFTC TNLN log dry.
Thanks for the cache polfil. RLD4963 and I were on our way to Burnie for a couple of days and picked Tunbridge as one of our stops on the way. It was a clear sunny day when we arrived, and although there was not a lot of water in the lagoon, the reflections were very pretty. thanks for bringing us here.
Thanks Polfil for placing this cache and keeping it on the geo- game board.
Nice little hide, easy find. Got a bit of mud on the car on the way in so that will give the kids something to clean when I get home!
Done this Cache on a weekend away to Hobart all by myself so was able to find 44 caches including some lengthy multi caches. Also got to see my favourite comedian, some family and friends and a spot of shopping. Just what this girl needed!

We're currently on our way north for a visit to Launceston, and along the way we're trying to pick up a few caches that we've missed the last couple of times we've been along the Midlands Highway.
In all the times we've been along the Midway Highway over the years, we're not sure if we've actually ever taken the time to stop in Tunbridge. It was definitely well past time that we explored the place, especially once we discovered this little hidden gem tucked away behind the town!
Driving through the area, you'd never know that this spot was there! Thanks for showing us this beautiful place - we'd never have found it if it wasn't for the cache!

Found with Mtrax on our mini Tassie holiday! Today we drove back to Hobart from Launceston... Once again, the rain held off, and the sun was shining! Mind you, it was very windy! But that was OK. This was a nice cache find along the way - thanks PF.
Found with Lekker_Ding on our Easter adventures. What an interesting place and town. Thanks Polfil

Hobart to Devonport, with a spot booked on T1 at 5pm. Rather sad to be leaving this island of fascinating, often gruesome history and incredible scenery.
We must say a big thank you to all the local geocachers who have placed such a variety of caches, which we have enjoyed finding during the last fortnight.
So glad we squeezed this one onto the list, what an intriguing phenomena.
Thanks to 'polfil' for placing this cache.

Tassie Trip Day 135 - Well after making the trip into Hobart on the wrong day to see the wooden boats on our return after doing some shopping for a few thing we made our way back to Ross and along the way made a few stops.
Well it was a nice spot to catch a smiley and see the area a lovely vantage point and a great hide.
Thanks Polfil for this place to see and cache.

Well this was a pretty cool cache, with all the hills looking like they have seen no water and yet here is this pristine lake right in the middle. Easy wander to GZ and a cool hide retrieved the Geocoin and replaced it with a coin. Thanks for bringing me here polfil.
Next couple of highway caches compromised somewhat by current roadworks, so we moved on to Tunbridge and found a saline lake which I had no idea existed. Caching is so good for going to places one might never experience otherwise. TFTC.
I am pleased I planned how to get to this cache, before I came here, but even so, I did need to make one U-turn. The track by the lake was muddy and slippery after the rain. Nice wildflowers and a view of the lagoon at GZ.
After I drove away, my car sprayed a mud shower out the back for some distance.
Worth a favourite point. TFTC polfil.

Special trip down to the Isle to collect the apple caches. This was a difficult one to find a way in because the GPS maps were out of date. Common sense prevailed and drove close to GZ. A short walk up the small incline and the cache was found.

In Tassie for a few days with 6hinemoa2 for some fun caching in the Southern state. Getting dark so out come the torches. Thankfully a quick find after a short walk for our last of the day. Thanks polfill
A nice view of the lake here and a short walk from the track to GZ. Once there, the cache was quickly spotted. TFTC.
After completing the Apple today with Gridge98 on our way home stopped in to collect some caches! TFTC

On the way home from doing the Apple with JLROCKSTAR we called in to get some caches on the way home! This was and easy find TFTC
Day twelve of our holiday in Tassie. Bettyboo3747 and I are traveling from Oatlands to Low Head.
Stopped in at the historical towns and admired all the convict buildings, and collected a few caches.
We were wondering about this one as we were driving in as there is no sign of the lagoon until you nearly drive into it!
What an interesting spot. We parked and walked up the hill, and sat down to admire the sight.
btw, there was no TB in the cache today.
Thanks, Robmc.

#14382. Day 12 of our 3 week holiday in Tasmania. Today Robmc and I left our cute cottage in Oatlands and travelled north to Low Head. We enjoyed our stops at Tunbridge, Ross and Campbell Town, collecting a few caches and admiring the beautiful convict built bridges and architecture along the way.
We eventually found our way to GZ and were so surprised to see this lagoon as we approached. Up the hill we went to GZ where Rob discovered the cache quickly enough. There have only been a few visitors since the TB was dropped in here on 1st March this year but already it has done a runner and not been logged out yet.
Thanks polfil

We did wonder what a "Balboa" was. Very surprised to see this out here. Thanks for bringing us to this location and for the cache.
This was a great day for finding new and unusual places, this was certainly one of them. Co-ordinates spot on. TFTC.
Over the years, geocaching has taken me on many adventures, including interesting destinations all over my home continent of Australia and many overseas as well. It has also introduced me to a diverse group of like-minded caching tragics, many of whom I now call close friends.
Today, I was lucky enough to be out and about searching for caches, something I do on almost a daily basis. This was one cache that was targeted and found.
Sorry for the late and generic log, something I am notorious for. Thank you polfilfor adding to the adventure that is geocaching.

Oh now this was a fun drive to the cache, and we did laugh at your hint!
Today we travelled from Hobart to Launceston and enjoyed stopping for your cache on the way.

What a most unexpected little get away.....I needed some R&R and the lovely micaparamedic needed to cache in Tassie to meet a challenge cache's requirements, soooo a plan was quickly hatched and we were on our way.
Gary was good enough to do all of the driving (a real treat for me) so I just relaxed as we explored various beautiful locations that Tassie has to offer.....and we even picked up a cache or two. [^]
The weather was fantastic, the food was delicious, and I was delighted to catch up with some very special people.
Thanks so much for the cache polfil!

Hi Polfil, wow, I didn't know this place existed, so thanks for bringing me here.
Stayed at the Ross Hotel last night, and now heading back to search for a few more of the Tas Apple series, before then picking up geoScoutSon from his overnight competition hike in the hills west of Oatlands. {apparently there's another use for GPSrs }
Nice and quiet and peaceful here this morning, with just one swan on the lagoon.
A straightforward find once at GZ (where all is well).
