Now that the river has gone down I was able to check the welfare of the cache. It was in position but pretty soggy so I've brought it home with me to dry it out.
Unfortunately there has been a lot of damage from the flood waters along this part of the river, and it's undergoing a lot of reconstructive work. A tree came down right beside the cache making it harder to get to, and I'm wary of keeping the cache in position while all this work is going on.
There has been a lot of planting of vegetation close to the cache and I expect they will want to move the tree as it interferes with the nice bench seat and platform there, so I'll check back in a few weeks to see what's happening.

Due to the flooding of the Yarra river this cache is temporarily unretrievable until the waters go down. The walking track beside the river is under water and has been closed off by the authorities. I don't expect to be able to re-open this cache until Spring
Found it a few weeks ago on a nice Sunday stroll with my family. Only got to log it now.

Great one for the kids to find and log! Very impressive freshly fallen tree in the river.

Found 1725hrs, had to wait until a muggle walking 2 K9's passed, then a junior muggle on his tiny wee bike followed closely by his mum on her bike who decided to stop and ask were we doing a water check (we must have looked somewhat official) before actually retrieving the cache. TNLN. TFTC.
Found it after searching a while and also making sure that no muggles are around before retrieving the cache. TFTC!
Found this one down the bank in the open so I placed him "Back in his hollow" where i expect he should live. TFTC SL
Found by edmil & maddie. Cache #6. We were enjoying our stroll along the river bank, something we had not done before even though we spend a lot of time in the area. By this stage I had given up on the multi as I had made an error in calculations and at this point was to lazy to correct the mistake, So we continued to walk and locate the traditional caches that were available to us. This one was a quick a find and with no muggles within cooee of the cache, well they were within cooee because we could hear them shouting for their players but they weren't in sight of us or even likely aware that we were there as such it was an easy cache to retrieve. The log was signed but no swap was made. Thanks for the hide.
Found with mrs roughasguts and geo dogs.
Nice quite Sunday morning tipping with rain so muggle free !

3rd find of the day, and 3144th total find at 10:44:00 AM.
We thoroughly enjoyes our stroll along the river bank today. We seemed to be dodging the rain today, so luckily we didn't get too wet whilst attempting the cache.
We had a few hairy moments trying to get down low enough to retrieve the cache. The river banks here are very slippery due to the recent downpours.
Took: Nothing
Left: Screwdriver
Thanks mykaat for the cache

Didn't have time to sit, the sun was reflecting off the cache container so plainly visible from the lower side of the boardwalk. TFTC TNLN
11.10 Staying at Milgrove with a group of friend for the weekend we took advantage of a lovely loop walk around the Yarra to pick up some caches. This was the second for the day and soon in hand by revamped cacher, it put a real smile on his dial. Co ords to me to far on this one but its pretty obvious where it was.
Thanks for the lovely spot

On a bit of a caching run in the Warburton area today. Sun was shining, what else would you be doing?
I had attempted this cache a few times in the past, but it turned out it had been muggled. Anyway, this time was no problems, no muggles about, so a nice easy find.
The cache may need some sort of camo, or just a coat of dark paint so any muggle walking on the bank below cannot see the cache.
Thanks to mykaat for the cache. TNLN.

The walk along the river is very pleasant. Also with the abundance of caches there is even more to enjoy. We had a few muggles about but eventually were able to retrieve without having to look to much.
Headed out tonight for another night caching run with my good mate and caching buddy Marshy (Blacklegend). Tonight we were in for a treat with some night caching into the hills around Marysville and Warburton. A nice quick find after a little stroll along the banks of the river. Nice spot to sit and relax. TFTC.

Found this cache with Daryllm123 and cathylmorgan on a fun Saturday morning. Took cooked goose and left French Notepad TB. Thanks, mykaat.

This cache was definately AWOL. I've left an emergency substitute cache in place with new logbook. I will return in few days to add more goodies to cache, at moment just a handful of blue marbles to keep it going
Made the mistake of not reading the recent logs and spent quite a bit of time searching. Then read the logs and decided to give up.
Like previous hunters we came up with empty hands too.

Really, this was a did not attempt. We were told by daryllm123 that they couldn't find it, so we took their word for it and did not search.
Couldnt find this one today, look all over using the clue as gpsr was all over the place with the tree cover overhead, reckon i found were it should be but nothing just an empty hole, might have to be checked by owner TFTC anyway nice day to have a look
I tried this once before, but failed.
Today, with Sam Carter, we both tried looking for the elusive cache, but again we were unable to find it. Oh well. C'est la vie.

We came, we searched, we didn't see or conquer. It was too cunning for us. Pretty spot, though, so thanks anyway mykaat.

First find for the day, as we stopped off in Warburton for a late brunch before moving on through the hills... Busy here today with the snow crowd. Wandered down the trail and soon made the find safe and sound - We'll be returning one day to take more of a wander and polish off the other caches around this area.

A quick easy find @ 16:20 in the company of the geowife and emeraldflame. Certainly a pleasant stroll along the river. Unfortunately there was some water in the cache and all the contents were damp - but they're not too bad at this stage.

A lovely stroll along the creek with all the lovely leaves falling around us. Waited for a break in the traffic and the cache was in hand. Another break in traffic and it was back again. TFTC
I looked on from above while Genrow1966 slipped her way down. Looked too hard to come back the way Genrow1966 came so we waved goodbye and said we'd meet at the next cache. Luckily that was only 200m away. TFTC
Holy guacamole!!! Slippery entrance choice required bravery post clinging on to a tree for dear life. This was probably one of the more challenging caches I have done - simply because we chose the lazy route in rather than walking in along the board walk. I think it took me several minutes of psyching myself up to actually let go of the tree I was holding on to before I took a run down the hill. What a relief. Ended up muddy to the elbows and was NOT leaving with out finding the cache in one of the "either/or" locations... From my entry point in the wet... I give it a terrain of 5... laughing with some time and space between then and now!
A lovely ANZAC holiday Monday to visit Warburton. A sunny break over a period of damp days. This is a great place for walks both great and small. A stroll along the river took us to GZ. The GPS reading here was very poor, and so at one point we thought we might be on the wrong side of the river. TIme to unveil the hint - and then all was clear. The cache was found after some furtive searching. Not too many muggles fortunately.

OK I am guilty of not logging caches over the last year or two. Due to 2 operations and rehab it has made it difficult to log caches even though I have been mostly chair bound sitting for short times has been difficult as well.
What I have done is create this log in an attempt to bring our found and DNF's up to date so I can resume my normal habit of stories rather than a TNLN - TFTC.
Most of these logs will not include the owners team name so I think it is appropriate to say a Big Thank the cache owners for their caches and some wonderful memories of caching adventures.
Also thanks to Team Crackers who have made our caching trips so much fun and their help in working out what caches we did and when.

17-01 14th find of the day at 15:43 and 811th find in total.
We saw the suspension bridge that we would have to cross before we got to this cache, it seemed to have a bit of history itself.
We were also amazed by the amount of people fishing on the riverbanks on our walk to this cache and as it would turn out for our next few caches, they would be a thorn in our sides...
We got here and looked in the obvious spot while being watched by some of the line dippers nearby but is wasn't till we cracked the hint that the "crowd" decided to move on and made for a quick retrieval.
(''\(OoO)/'') Thanks mykaat for the caching fun!

We parked a distance down the road and walked back along the bank to GZ. The GPS wasn't much impresses with the big trees, so I started down one end, and Feathertop started on the other. He had the cache in hand almost before I had started looking!

Rob and I approached this one with a little trepidation after reading some logs but we need not have worried as I found it immediately right where I expected it to be. We had to wait for one muggle to pass before replacement could be made.
