Looks like dakotacats and I were the last to get this cache before it was archived. Lovely views indeed.
Found this on New Years Day while in the area caching but then it was archived before I had the opportunity to log it. The views are lovely from here - we enjoyed them.
In Geraldine ca(t)ching up with BCD. Out for a Sunday drive. WOW what awesome views from here! As mentioned in previous logs cache container is munted and log a sodden mess. Placed a new container (somewhat smaller) in its place. TFTC
Nice quick find while out for a Sunday drive and a bit of caching - the day was cool but clear so the views were lovely. The cache is in need of maintenance! TFTC.
Certainly a beautiful spot and so quiet thank you for bringing me here to enjoy this beautiful part of our great country TFTC
Beautiful views alright just a shame the cache wasn't in the same condition as the view. Tftc
Glorious views, especially with the recent snow on the hills and mountains!! TFTC
Wow! Absolutely gorgeous views, only about 10-15km from home and never been up here! What an amazing place we live in!
On my way to Picnic near Hanging Rock (fills a statistical hole for me & I've been keen to claim it for some time). Generally roaming around S Canty on my way there - and this was a great place to stop.
The views are magnificent - things seem to be a bit greener here than further north; I took a couple of photos but it is hard to do the scenery justice.
Thanks, The-Organist. good place for a cache.

Found the cache with Reshamfiriri. Lovely spot, but sadly box in tatters. Box and contents put in snaplock bag and put back were we found it.
Certainly a lovely view Box broken and contents wet. Placed whole thing in plastic bag as temporary measure TFTC

Mmmm found this at the base of another post? But where we thought it would be, however we found it & the log is quite dry now. Great views on all sides TFTC
needed an excuse to have a drive round and grab the few caches that are close to home but not on the usual route thanks for showing us some where different
Snow on the mountains, cabbage trees in the wind, sunshine and blue skies - what more can you ask for? Oh yes, a cache! A quick find. TFTC
Would the next finder like to bring a new half notebook to replace the dripping log?? The outside is drier than the inside. Neat place and hide. Thanks.
It certainly was a Viewtiful view, especially the Snow on the Mountains, one side, and the Sea to the other.
Sadly the Log Book is wet,but dried it out the best we could.TFTC

In an earlier life spent a lot of time driving about this area, never took the time to realise how nice it all is. Thanks for the cache as well as the recollection.
Lovely view from up here on this windless and cloudless morning. Thanks for the cache.
Yes 360 of them. I've been trying to get to complete this for ages but kept getting side tracked by other caches or getting lost. All good now. The bees are really enjoying all the clover around the cache. TFTC #2925
Wow! Great view. Hanging Rock looks very majestic from that angle. Lots of cache- hunter tracks, making the finding easy. Log book and cache a little damp. TFTC
Editing this entry to acknowledge, with embarrassment, that the rock cited above is not THE Hanging Rock. Although they do look similar! I went to Hanging Rock (for the picnic) tonight, then drove past the rock seen from Viewtiful later on, and realised my mistake.

Fully agree with The-Organist here. The views are breathtaking although it was a cloudy overcast day today and didn't do justice to views. No problem finding cache although some pages are loose in the log book so one needs to be careful they don't blow away!
last year we drove all through here with the caravan on and GPS off. This time, some revisits, c/van off (near main rd) and gps on. today, no wind or cloud. beaut.
What a superb view from up here.... and in my backyard almost. Thanks for bringing me here.
Love these backroads. Have been in the area before, but not up here. What a fantastic view....so good in fact that I left the gps behind, luckily was only half way down when I noticed & headed back up. Thanks for bringing us up here. Nice one.
Very Viewtiful. and what made it special was that the GZ was not in the cabbage tree forest! Thanks for bringing us here.
Must be a good spot as a car of ladies was out photographing the sheep?? must be visitors to NZ being shown around. They moved on around the road allowing a search which turned up the cache in quick order. TFTC
Viewtiful!!! Out on the back roads of Canterbury today with Les_Chercheurs enjoy the great views and having loads of fun caching .
TFTH Happy Cachin!!!

Took a trip from Canada to New Zealand to visit my brother and nephew over Christmas. Did some caching and was taken to some pretty amazing places. Thanks for the cache!
Certainly well worth the drive although I wondered on the way. What an amazing country we live in when you can get views like this after half an hours drive.
Thanks

Cold, windy day for my visit and so a limited view, however great spot. I'll be back on a nice day
Took a while to find the right road as we were just using the GPS, not the hints and maps. When we found the spot there was only one place it could be. LOL. We have never seen a forest of cabbage trees before, what an amazing place, on a pefect day. You could build a circular house here with 360 degree views. WOW.
Yep, it was all about the views. Not just at this spot but on the drive to get here too. The views were breathtaking and the weather couldn’t be more perfect. Couldn’t have asked for a better day to come here. Thanks The-Organist for the cache.
Wonderful drive up here with great views of the farmland. We particularly liked the hillside of cabbage trees just back down the road from GZ. TNLN TFTC
Found with YuGeo4, viewtiful is right, what a great view from GZ very picturesque, managed to get a few photos cool spot. TFTC TNLNSL (1418)

Viewtiful indeed! An easy find with Yeetrees. Bumped into a group of muggles sight-seeing from Temuka. Had to hang onto our hats, as the wind was howling along. Thanks for bringing us here.

The locals I was staying with discribed this location as Jacob's Ladder. Unfortuneately by the time I got there it was overcast and very little to see. It was oppressively hot earlier in t he day when the views would have been spectacular.
Took ages finding the right road but no time finding the cache. Was signing log as Environment Canterbury guy tirned up with photographer to take some sunset promotional photos. Got cache back and scarpered just as they headed off to lean against a certain fence post to take the shot.
Great views -as the name suggested. enjoyed our afternoon caching off the beaten tracks.
Yeah - but... If you've been through a few times before, it's quite a bit of dust for one more cache.
I guess it's another smilie - and one or two new gravel roads marked off on the map. TNLN, TFTC.

It is indeed in the middle of nowhere, but a nice spot to stop and get another smiley face on the travels around these back roads. TNLN Thanks.
Found this on a geocaching day. We are enjoying exploring the back roads from Geraldine where we are housesitting for a month. TFTC.
Very well named lovely spot ... left a Village of Queen Charlotte pin, took nothing. geofran
Ended up coming the long way to this one, but that being said it was a scenic place to tour TFTC
Amazing views alright - blowing a bit of gale up here

A wonderful afternoon to be here. Certainly full of view. Driven past here quite a number of times going to and from caches (surprise surprise) and now have had the excuse to stop and admire. Thanks. Quick find. A lot of traffic (for the area) - 2 cars stopped to ask if we were OK - lucky we were photographing. Took knight TB, left diabetes coin. And we now realise we forgot to retrieve the diabetes coin so can't drop it - collector will have to grab if there before we can get back to record number. oops.
