Was hoping for lots of unloved days but unfortunately no sign of the cache at my calculated GZ I was pretty confident about my numbers this time too.... I think it could maybe be missing since it hasn't been found for a year!
Thanks anyway will keep an eye on it

I confirmed my coordinates with a previous finder and turns out they are correct.
I assume the cache is missing as there was no sign of it at GZ and being a small size it shoud of been obvious given there weren't many places to check at GZ.
CO is inactive for 2 years so will post a NM for now even though I doubt it will ever get fixed

Er ... I have been meaning to write this note for a month or 2 - I logged this cache as found last year... but when I THOUGT I had found this one ... turns out I hadn't! - the scattered container/bits I did find were actually a different cache! (but as I didn't find the log book among the bits, there was no cache name to check, so I didn't know that at the time) ... I found out later, when I became a premium member and decided to go look for the nearby premium cache ... and it was VERY familiar! ... so - I knew I had not actually found this one, and needed to rectify that ASAP ... which ended up being a little while later, once I had looked for my workings out, not found them, and then decided to come back looking in the spot I had started looking in last time (which I remembered quite well because the dog and I have walked past there many times - and this time I actually found THIS one (closer to where I had thought it should be than the other one - seems my "most likely solution" was correct after all ... weird thing was - it was out in the open as well - lying on the ground next to where I assume it was meant to be (it has been found again since so I guess all so ok ... Kind of explains why I was having so much trouble placing a cache "just over there" - lol (was getting quite confusing when I moved mine twice, well away from where I thought this one was, and still kept getting told mine was too close - lol)
TFTC - this one has sure ended up being a long and involved saga for me - and probably confusing for people who read my log describing something rather different from what they found - lol

Miss Stormcatcher had picked up this puzzle a couple of times, but the coordinates never seemed quite right. Tonight Mr Stormcatcher was tasked with verifying the answers which still didn't resolve our issues with W... Not wanting to put this one back on the shelf we headed out to try our luck. A quick find in the end with spot on coordinates, still not sure how to get the correct answer but happy to have this one as a smiley. Thanks for the Video game fun...
Yet another set of coordinates and this time... a cache!! Very happy to have this one off the list finally. It has led us on a merry dance. Thanks JezzzaXtreme
#1971 1 of 2 today. It's been a bit of a busy weekend for me. I can only claim a few caches. I solved this one recently and have finally wandered out to sign the log. I have never been much of a gamer, but a bit of searching of the interwebs revealed the answers. Plenty of muggles about, but none at gz.

Found with Coybear2000. We had a go at solving the puzzle and came up with a reasonable answer, but when we looked at the map, we decided we'd made an error. So we resorted to PAF, who guided us in the correct direction.
Today we went for the find. We arrived at GZ to find the cache out in the open. We signed the log and replaced it as best we could with extra camo. TFTC

Another look at the puzzle after our last failed attempt; another set of answers and coords looked good. Back out this way today and stopped by for the cache. But looks like we went wrong somewhere yet again as there was still no cache to be found. Back to the drawing board again.
Had 4 options for final coordinates with this one given the lack of a checker but none turned out to be the spot. We also checked a few other likely options on the way out but didn't get lucky. Will have another look at the puzzle at some stage.
Worked out the finals nearly 3 years ago while on a visit, but didn't get to make the find back then. Stopped by to pick it up today, had to be careful not to end up covered in mud after the recent rain! TFTC.
Out with Jac on an early morning walk and picked this one up on the way around.
After several false starts we needed a prob to help complete this one and mr roo helped out.
Thanks jezzaXtreme

I managed to find most of the information on the net, as I know almost nothing about video games. I didn't have a clue about the photograph, but I guessed the answer from the formula. The CO gave me a hand to fill gaps. Thank you. It was lovely in the evening at GZ. TFTC JezzzaXtreme.
I spent the afternoon in this area finding caches. Eighth find. Very pretty here in the evening. A favourite. TFTC JezzzaXtreme.
This one has been on my "must get around to this sometime" list for ages, but I have been not getting around to solving it because I know 3 fifths of 5 eighths of eff all about video games, and there are always a heap of other things I should be doing rather than searching the www for the answers.
But finding this suddenly became a priority a couple weeks ago when I tried to place a cache of my own and was told that it was a bit too close to this one ... so I suddenly had a more urgent desire to solve and find it - lol
I managed to find most of the answers ... sent a text message to my daughter (who plays lots of video games in the hope that she might know the others ... but alas - no ... however 20 minutes later I got another reply - she had asked a friend and got me one of the 2 answers I still needed, and the other one I figured out from the maths we then had to do that it would have to only be one of 4 options ... and only one of those 4 put GZ close enough to where I wanted to hide my cache
Trouble is - I wrote down my answer, but forgot to either put it in my GPS or bring it to work yesterday - and only realised that when I was on my way home ... but I decided to stop and have a quick look anyway, seeing I knew roughly where it was ... after all ... how many hiding spots could there be there?
... actually - rather a LOT ... and I think I looked in most of them and was just at the point of giving up - heading back to the car thinking "I will just look over by that tree on my way past" ... and what do you know - there was a sistema box, a lid, a notebook, and a few other toys/swaps and bits all strewn around on the ground in front of the tree ... yes - the muggled remains of the cache ... and the tell tale signs of the typical hiding spot as well - there was no log book though - the note book had everything else but Geocachers signatures in it (recipes, game scores, silly messages, drawings) but the back half of the notebook was empty so I signed the back page ... then I swapped a ruler, some stickers, a badge, a bookmark and some clip on sunnies for the bandana and a smiley face badge, added a pencil, and put the cache back together and replaced it in the hiding spot - so provided it isn't muggled again it should be ok for others to find now, but might need a "you have found a Geocache" sheet and a proper log book adding to it? (or finders could just keep signing the back pages of the notebook - there is plenty of room left for that
TFTC ... Quite satisfying to have finally found this one, and probably a good thing I came looking and found it when I did - so I was there to put it back together ... and now I (think I) know where I can hide mine ... although when I was standing next to this cache, my GPS was telling me that the spot I was trying to hide mine was well and truly far enough away ... oh well ... I am sure I can figure something out when I check the map again - I think this one is in the right direction that I can move mine to a hiding spot a bit further in the other direction and still be on the island I wanted it on

The final cache of the holidays for me! I had solved this one quite a while ago. I am not really an expert in Video Gaming, so I enlisted the expertise of a friend who helped me solve it. That was quite a while back, so today I decided to collect this one. With a few other cachers (ZQX, HypoHippo, sacada and Wilbert67), we trekked over to this one. The cache was found quickly as it was a bit exposed. The cache containing the logbook was fine, but the original container was in horrific condition. It was filled with some sort of black mud and the container fell apart as I picked it up. There was stuff everywhere! Seeing as we were in the CITOing mood, we unanimously decided that this old container had had its day. There was nothing salvageable in the old container. Now there is a shiny new one at GZ but the old one is gone. I think you can count this one as maintained! Log signed and cache replaced. TFTC JezzzaXtreme!
Decided on a long day of caching in the ACT. and left home 3 am. Had a great day with 2 events involved as well. Lots of find and (unusually) lots of dnf's as well. Met some great people and the weather was at least dry today. Finally home and exhausted by 8 pm. Thanks for putting out this cache!

A group of us were wandering around the area as part of a CITO event, and Cankid mentioned we were close to the GZ of this cache. I had had two attempts to solve it, but had not completed it. So ZQX, Cankid and I had a scout around the GZ, and Cankid came up with the goods. Thanks JezzaXtreme for this puzzle - I promise to help Geomum solve it soon!
I do like to solve my own puzzles, but I was with Cankid at the time and he had solved this one, so I went in for the group sign. TFTC JezzzaXtreme and I will check the puzzle to make sure I can also solve it.
(457) Found with a bunch of CITO-ers. I'll have to do a post-find solve on this, I confess. Only my the third time I've done this, and I feel a bit like a naughty kid every time.
Cankid had the coordinates and I just followed him. As we walked around to GZ, we collected heaps of rubbish.
Tks JezzzaXtreme!

3992. Found with Tanso while doing some caching in the area.
I had been sitting on this one for ages. I too had a few locations to pick from, but after seeking some clarification from a previous finder, I narrowed my choices down some what. Today we walked straight to the container and it replacement.
Many thanks to specimenX for the replacement.

I was with boot65 when he wonted to go and grab this one, as I said to him I still have on more to go and I'm good to get it. so with his help I now have my name in log.
I've had this one in my solved but unfound list for a little while now. As I was at home and feeling a little lethargic and sluggish I decided I needed to get up, get out and get moving - so out I went to the area to start the stroll at this lovely spot
But once at GZ it was a nice quick find of the cache...and it was D.O.A!![xx(][xx(] The remnants of the disintegrating container was FULL of water and the log and contents were swimming in it and it stank! The whole thing needs to be binned!
Anyway, I had a spare cache on me with log sheet and small swap that Ive left on top of the old one-so at least there is something to find now for others who have solved the puzzle and want to make a more pleasant find. Left pathtag
Thanks for the puzzle and the location, JezzzaXtreme

Took forever for me to solve this one. I think in total I had about 10 different variations lol.
Well after finally getting it right (OMG) I have had this one sitting in the GPSr awaiting for a day to go collect. Well I decided to quickly swing past after work.
Well the container is a mess, unfortunately my GPSr had an older GPX on it so I didn't have the comments from Noikmeister otherwise I would have avoided the find. Agh well, done now, but definitely needs CO assistance.
Cheers JezzaXtreme

Cache container is completely trashed and full of water. Needs a whole new container.
Found at 2:25:00 PM.
My 60th unfound puzzle in the ACT. 59 to go.
After some correspondence with the CO I still managed to get one of the easterly coordinates wrong and it was only a call to a previous finder who had the GZ coordinates which saved me. Once found (and not after being completely covered in black ants) the cache was shown to be a complete ruin. Full of water and not in one piece. It is such a lovely spot, so perhaps a new container would be good. NM log to follow.
Thanks Jezzza Xtreme

With a bit of a reprieve on the animal feeding front, we were able to spend sometime together and collect a few smileys. We had cleared out this area awhile ago so it was time to come back and collect the new ones. FFLL no 1 had came up with a set of coords for this one a while ago, but they never looked quite right. A recheck of some of the answers gave us a more suitable set of coordinates and we checked them with a PF. A nice stroll to GZ and we located the hide fairly quickly, nice views from this spot as well. The container will need to be replaced, the lid is still intact but the rest is almost non existent. Creepy crawlies have made it their home. TFTC and the puzzle JezzzaXtreme
#1281 - 13:10; Headed out on an 'early!' morning mission with Sol de lune and after achieving all bar one (sadly a DNF, possibly due to GZ being covered over during relatively recent works there) of our objectives on that run, we parted ways and I headed back to Dunlop to try and wrap up my remaining unfound caches. I'd had a little trouble with this one, but managed to come up with a decent set of coords. As a result of a bit of banter with a previous finder, rechecked the calcs and identified a minor error. Made my way to GZ an soon had the cache in hand. Briefly. I'm sure the spiders and cockroaches inhabiting the decaying container were as surprised by me dropping said container as I was by finding them in there! No problems with any infestation when I left, but if container isn't replaced, I can't guarantee future finders won't get a similar surprise as I did. TFTC and the entertainment JezzzaXtreme
Today was the first full day of caching in Canberra on this trip. Over the last few months we have been attempting a number of puzzles in preparation for our visit to the ACT. Today we started to look for some of the puzzle caches and this was one of them. Although we are aware of video games and have played the odd one or two, they have never really engaged us. Hence, some research was required to answer the questions and then generate some coordinates. Today the accurate coordinates led to a quick find. Although the logbook was in good condition, the container has a badly cracked lid and will need some maintenance in the very near future. Thanks for the puzzle JezzzaXtreme and for the cache.
498. An excellently designed puzzle, the picture had me worried but after an hour of googling and gaming the name revealed itself. In the end I ended up with two possible coordinates and after an email to Diadem, one was confirmed to be correct. Went out last night to the closest set - nothing, so today I went to the other location and made the find.
Thanks for the cache and the well designed puzzle JezzaXtreme

When I first saw this one I thought I had no chance on the picture but I found it quickly today. Then I went about the others. My first effort was clearly wrong so I answered all the questions again. H was tricky but I got tripped up by B.
Getting the cache itself was the easy bit. The container is cracked and no longer waterproof. I was glad it was too cold for the spiders for there were webs inside. Clearly my youth was miss spent not doing more gaming:-)

Steeba did the hard work, I did the driving, we both found the cache. A good little walk in a pleasant area.

Found on a Canberra run with Hoojar.
I'm sure many years ago I attempted to solve this one without success. With renewed enthusiasm for a run in this area I got cracking again. A helpful hint or two from the owner to confirm one or two and it was solved. A short walk today and we had this almost unloved cache in hand. Thanks!

When one needs to know anything about any video game on any console ever made they need only consult one cacher - cdmark. Corey has a room dedicated to multiple copies of every console from the earliest Ataris to the PS3s. Not only does he have this rich resource of gaming history but he has an encyclopedic knowledge of games, so I merely presented these questions and was met with - "Oh that's ......" and "I'm sure that's ...... and it was first released in ......" and "I think I have that, let's go fire up the Gameboy and see."
There was one we weren't sure about and that's because we misinterpreted the clue. Fortunately MV had a copy of the game and we sorted it out tonight. It was a strange old night and it seemed to bring strange people to the swings....or to the geocache near by.
Many thanks,
R - B

Reperio at 2200. Before heading out to find this one, Team Rubik and I had conflicting answers, so with a bit of head work, we came up with a solid set of coordinates that looked likely. Tonight we found out that we had our numbers right, and braved the cold while we walked to GZ to make the find. Unbelievably, being so cold, there was a muggle swinging on the nearby swing by himself.
Gratias for an interesting puzzle.
Gratias for an interesting puzzle.
Had help for H cause that was never going to happen. Was out by about 28 metres at GZ so glad discovery was made cause after all that work didn't want a DNF. Ratpack saw something out of the corner of her eye and saved the day. Thanks. TNLN
Great teamwork on this cache - Sara did the majority of the work while I came in at the end with the final clue (and the car for retrieval purposes). Geohounds enjoyed their first walk of the morning, although they were annoyed I wouldn't let them swim (didn't want wet, stinky dog smell in the car). TFTC, although I just don't get the hint given the location we found the cache in.
In the early days I played a lot of computer games, not any more. This cache took a lot of research and solving and it was clearly on my to do list today.
The final hide is in a good location too.
Thanks

Thanks very much for checking my answers for this cache, I don't think I would have got it otherwise. It has been a while since I have played any Video Games.
A nice walk to GZ in the early morning light.
Thanks for the puzzle and walk, Robmc.

Thanks for the puzzle and walk, Robmc.
Not being of a VGer, even after some extra sleuthing on the last question, and getting some younger friends to look at it, I still needed assistance from Jezzza to crack the answer.
I headed out this evening and had a lovely stroll. It was warm, the sun was setting, and the birds were out too. I was even lucky enough to see a falcon on the hunt for its dinner - not something Ive seen this close to the suburbs before.
Found the cache pretty easily, then time for one more quick one before heading home for family duties.
Cheers Jezzza, nice puzzle, nice location.

Have been mulling this one on and off for months but got a location that didn't seem right. Checked with the owner and had a couple of answers wrong, despite having 2 teens in the house and a fair amount of environmental exposure to console games.
Refined my answers and came up with something that looked much better. So went for a walk on the northside today and found the cache nicely covered up by mr_roo and nice and dry despite the rain.
TNLN. Thanks Jezzza.

Went to visit this one today to check on this one, It appears the wonderful hiding spot has been cleaned up with several large limbs removed. Thankfully whoever did the cleanup left the cache.
Had been working on this for a while, and had to ask the owner to help out with a few I was having trouble with. Went out tonight just before the rain, got to the cache with a minute to spare, signed the log and the rain hit! Placed log back in and put cover back on as cache was very exposed. Got home and was soaked! TFTC and the help
After misfiring on this cache 5 months ago I worked out my mistake (with some help from JE) and finally got out this way again. The Geopooch enjoyed the walk to the cache but babybent (and Mrs Bent) were getting tired! Glad to get this cache crossed off my list. Thanks JE
This was my first Trivia Cache, and it was a hard one. Thanks Jezzza_Xtreme. Thanks also for the answer to my request for help. I did find the answer to qustion H in the end and my friend Gus helped me out with an educated guess at O.

#105: Relatively simple puzzle cache. linFox and I had solved this puzzle a while ago (~4 months) but have not had the chance to come look for it. We had to walk past GZ and let some walkers walk past. We managed to sign the log and hide it before the next walker walked past.
Had solved a while ago (so that's what the years of gaming was for ) and rubai and I finally got out to it today.
Finally actually got to the cache, in between the dog-walkers.
Thanks!

1st of 3 finds for the day.
I used all the usual means to help work this one out, including other cachers. Some of the games I've not even heard of, but that is why wiki is our friend I suppose.
At the GZ site, there have certainly been some improvements to the general area.
TNLN, thanks for the cache and the little hint from the last event.
Cheers,

500 - Had some time today between driving kids to school, day care and an Athletics Carnival (BBrrrr...) so I went for a couple of caches...
And its my 500th cache find as well!!
I had done most of the questions earlier when the cache first appeared, but like a few others, one or two answers I just couldn't find. Talking to Jezzza at the last event - and having an educated guess where the cache might be - I decided to have another go at completing this one.
A slightly different search technique and I soon had the answers I required and then the cache in hand - and yes it was very close to where I thought it would be.
And so a very enjoyable Mystery cache to chalk up my 500th. And I can confirm Tealby was here and I took her pathtag. TFTC !!
Cheers....

10th cache for the day. I set Biggles303 the task of answering the questions & he did the first cut for me. Then I had the balance of the questions to solve, but I made a couple of educated guesses that proved to be not so educated (& it put me in the water). A re-think & more help from Biggles303 & I finally got confirmation from Jezzza that I was on the right track. When I got to the location today the weather was really wet & miserable, but I knew that I wouldn't be back anytime soon, so I soldiered on. I made my way to the cache & discovered there was no writing implement inside - and - I had just left the pen that was in my pocket at the last cache!! Rats! I wasn't prepared to go all the way back to the car to retrieve a pen, so I just left a Tealby pathtag as proof of my visit.
T: stamp L: Homer Simpson (& pathtag) TFTC.
P.S. I was sure that I had found a cache here previously, but I remember the grass being MUCH longer. I guess it has now been archived??

Woot finally got this one. After getting the answers confirmed ages ago, finally headed out to this one. Parked in the unbuilt part and walked around. There was/is another cache up around here isn't there?
Anyway duly logged and then realised at the next cache (in Gungahlin) that I took the pencil. Woops!

Last of 4 moonlight finds tonight.
Did the quiz a few weeks ago. Finally managed to get out that way and picked up several caches on that side of town. Started walking towards GZ from the wrong side..... then had to back-track a bit and take the right path. A nice easy find at GZ. TFTC

Hmmm – used many sources to determine these answers! Including myself, my son, Google, and finally – a hint request – that H was a real doozy! Although my son copped it after I finally figured it out! Then, went out looking for it in the icy cold windy and wet conditions! (I think I would rather have been home playing video games! TNLN, Thanks Jezzza Xtreme!
Ah, this "o f" HAS played quite a few of these games with daughter, son and son-in-law, and I did not discrace myself either! (except in the racing ones)
So, off I go and do my research, C caused me quite a bit of grief, as there are 3 equally valid possibilities, but I eventually narrowed it down. H also gave me an issue, well the wording of H, I took the words in H at face value, and singularly accepted the singular, though I noted the plural.
That all aside, O had me stumped.
Off went the "H.E.L.P." email to daughter , son & son-in-law. Daughter came to the rescue and gave me the answer to O. Confirmed my results with Jezzza, ah, only the one error, a small one, the H issue cropped up. OK, that fixed, off I went to an area I've been to many times before for a nice easy find. And nice in the afternoon too.
Thanks Jezzza for "Something completely different".

Thanks Jezzza - the subject matter was very novel, interesting and educational. I really enjoyed the general GZ location this beautiful morning - truly lovely and peaceful.
After struggling through this quiz, I realized that I have missed out on what is a very large part of many younger people's lives now. It makes me really feel like an old fart! But then again, perhaps I am playing a massive role playing game now called Geocaching - collecting points, skills and on a quest.
This was the second visit out this way to look for this cache. I had a likely suspect the other night and drove out for a look. I knew I had "H" and/or "I" incorrect because I just couldn't get a reasonable answer for "W" - and it was a bit of a guess - the wrong guess!
So I sent my answers in to the teacher for marking. Yes indeedy, both "H" AND "I" were wrong - and G was too. I had correctly deduced the answer for "O" and even had found a likely game with the correct number of letters.
So back to research.
"G" - alas, right year, wrong version.
"I" - Doh - read the question more carefully.
"H" - this was tricky and not obvious - but when I saw the picture of the front cover of the game - I knew it was right + it gave me a reasonable answer. (There are several candidate games).
"O" - well I already had the number correct but I used the google terms Jezzza provided and the game popped up. I couldn't have correctly answered this question in a month of Sundays or a month of full moons.
Once again - thanks Jezzza

Woohoo, FTF.
It's been a long time between FTF's for me.
I saw this one when I got into work this morning and thought that I'd have a crack.
There were a couple of numbers that I couldn't work out, so I took a few of guesses and ended up with a couple of possible locations.
I checked them on Google Earth and this one seemed like the likely spot.
Turns out I was bang on target.
Found the cache no probs.

1037. Allergy was staying over last night, so when this one popped up she and CoolAid went to work. They quickly had most of the answers but there were a couple of iffy ones. Asked for confirmation that it wasn't near where I thought it was and Jezzza kindly confirmed that it was further away then we had calculated, which led to the other answer (which was a guess because the numbers we had didn't fit.
Headed off this afternoon into a blustery day without a great deal of conviction. Luckily for once a guess I made was correct and there was the cache in a spot I've visited a couple of times and happy to come again. It was the leaving that caused the problem.
As I returned to the car I felt for the keys, which pocket did I put them in? They were actually in the back of the station wagon which had self locked with them inside. Fortuitously my parents live just over the hill and drove me home to get the spare. That's the longest caching trip they've driven on.
TFTC and a puzzle I could solve (well the teenagers did anyway)
