On our way back from the Cathedral caves to the caravan parked up at Papatowai DOC camp popped in here for a wee walk. Would have been nicer at higher tide but pretty anyway.TFTC
This one took a bit of searching even with a couple of previous finders looking as well. Finally Mr daywalk came up with the container.TNLN. TFTC.
A few obvious looking places that came up empty. Looked at the hints and comments but no luck.
Yay! TFTC! I came all the way from Vancouver BC Canada to find this cache Thanks for being part of the adventure!!
A pretty walk to GZ where we soon had our hands on the cache. Then we strolled down to the end of the track. Love how geocaching brings us to these less touristy spots, thanks for bringing us here.
It's been over 20 years since I was last here. The trees appear to have grown a bit. No trouble finding the cache in the dusk. All in good nick.
Found - Mrs McMike2012 & I now live full-time in our caravan & travel the country visiting places we want to visit … we are now parked up at the DOC Papatowai campsite for a couple of days, exploring in & around the area … we went for a bit of a drive this morning & thought it would be rude not to check this cache out … found with no issues, log completed & cache returned … pleased to add another 'smiley face' to the tally … TFTC ... TN:LN:SL ... #2,168 for us.
Out & about in The Catlins between Niagra Falls and Papatowai trying to locate the remaining caches that I want to sign off.
While I was at GZ two lots of muggles went past. While I was explaining geocaching to the first lot a second lot of 5 went past.
Cheers for the cache.

Cache 694 Nice quick walk down another beautiful hidden track in the catlins, I was to busy paying attention to the swarm of Bellbirds above me that I was liked right past GZ oppps. So back tracked a little bit and spotted the cache, cache in in excellent shape T4TC
With this no longer a multi I decided to come out here. With a successful outcome from the great hint. cheers .
Sunday 8 November. Left Zara resting at Niagara. Toby and I are off exploring again. Today its the Niagara - Fortrose loop, then off to Florence Hill to end the day. Lots of unpaved roads mostly in great condition just to keep Toby entertained. So lets go!!
Toby, Zara and I are on a 3 week geo adventure of Cromwell, Southland, Catlins, Balclutha with a day in Dunedin and quick stop in Timaru. With Lenny, my trusty navigator and TBD my companion/mascot. we managed to visit lots of green boxes, now happy faces with the odd sad one. Did some LABs , earth caches, virtuals and wherigos, all chucked into the mix to rack up 500 odd caches. Lots of kilometers, lots of exploring and lots of fun. Thanks to all COs for our wonderful experience.

After a start to the year that was
One to forget. I spent from December 27 to 18 January 2020 being bed side nurse for annielin and the following 4 months getting her though cemo
.
Now with annielin caching fit and firing on all cylinders again it was time for a road trip back to the Catlins and track down some caches on the to do list from last year.
We started our walk to the cache and our feathery frends escorted us to the cache .
The Tui calibrated in full song and a fan tail was full of advice, along with a Robin.
I said to annielin we better not muck this up .
The cache was soon in hand and our names added to the log .
Just a beautiful day for a walk and the bird song was amazing.
Thanks for the hide

Tenth day of a two week motorhome excursion, heading via the Coast to the lower South Island, picking up a few caches along the way – 14 today. Meandering through the Catlins today and seeing the sights along the way. Took a moment or two to find this one which turned out to be pretty much opposite the sign – if I recall correctly. #3374. TFTC.
We all loved the little signs all over the place, made it much more interesting to spot where things were and think of the life back then. Interesting stroll out to the boardwalk, great idea. Cheers
Glad we read the description and saw the co-ords for the hide. Another lovely walk while in the area.
I love boardwalks over rushes. We rushed off to the posted coords before we read the cache page properly, but all the better a walk for it. Thanks for bringing us here.
This was our second "strange multi" for today (after visiting Lake Wilkie), but we were able to find it. Nice walk down to the water and finding a nice and quiet place.
Thank you for the cache!
Thank you for the cache!
Zowaar! I wasn’t in a rush, but couldn’t find the cache (and maybe that’s why). Enjoyed the walk, though, even if the boardwalk was a little short . Thx, Simone
Our last cache for the day here, a nice chance to stretch our legs before heading back to Waikawa for tea. Nice easy find. TFTC
Staying in Waikawa for the weekend, the morning plan was to drive straight out to Tawanui Recreation area and slowly make our way back... so we weren't really In A Rush.
Knocked off Walk the top line, and a few others, this the last for the day.
Love the history of the area.

Ten days off in a row for the price of two leave days, how fabulous! Packed up the whanau for an adventure and headed south. Our original plans were slightly thwarted by water, but we made the trip into an adventure tikitour with a few caches along the way. Signing the logs as Team Polak or TP for brevity. Great fun, thanks to all the CO’s for the entertainment!!
I certainly didn't find this cache to be the easiest to discover, even though my first idea about where it would be hidden was very close to where it actually was. I had to abandon my search when muggles approached so I returned after going to the end of the boardwalk.
Another lovely bush walk with lot's of bird song. Love how our new hobbie takes us to interesting places and things. Took a bit of looking and then saw it coming back. Thanks for this cache wallaceDuo.
Managed to walk out to nearly the viewing platform and thought the hint couldn’t be wrong. So re read the page and yes different coordinates.

On a Catlins wander with Granville at the wheel.
Followed mrs down the track, and mr was setting up the final waypoint on his phone, when mrs found it.
Nice gentle walk in the trees
Cache in good condition, tho container lid does have a crack in it

Quick find. I think the cache is actually closer to the path than the hint suggests.
The cache was a quick find after some confuses about the coordinates. Thanks for this cache! Greetings from Germany, GolmarKlonk
A nice walk through a regenerating rainforest, with a delightful boardwalk across the reeds to the estuary. Very, very peaceful spot, especially with absolutely no one else about. TFTC
A quick walk through the Bush for this one and walked to the end of the board walk for a look. Spent some time looking at the crabs that were in the mud. TFTC
This was one of several stops today. On our way to the boardwalk we had a look for the cache. Our GPS wasn't accurate so it took a few minutes to spot the box. Enjoyed the walk and observed the crabs in the shallow water. Funny animals.

Not in a rush at all - just meandering through the Catlins one cache at a time and enjoying every minute of it. For once I had read the description before coming so had the final coordinates loaded in. Signed under teamelliotfamily. TFTC # 11,988
First find of the day after a very refreshing sleep up the road at the Whistling Frog. A grown-ups trip while the cachelettes spend some quality time with the Grandies in Bluff. Beautiful, quiet spot with a few interesting signs about history of the area along the track. I wonder if the info in these used to make up the multi? TFTC.
A pleasant stop to stretch the legs. A wee walk down the lane to pick up the cache.
I’ve come across the ditch from with Swellerfungus to “tramp” (a new word for me) the Routeburn Track and see some of this beautiful South Island of New Zealand .
Today Swellerfungus and I are driving from Invercargill to Dunedin enjoying the sights along the way and finding a few caches. We are making several stops along the way to stretch our legs. A pleasant wander here, thanks.

On our way to the Nugget Point we made several stops to take a view at very interesting sites ! This was one of them, thank you for the Cache !
It's very nice walk and it's really nice to see something else than just stunning coastline!

A broken multi found at the good hint. Had already loaded the posted co'ods and picked up the cache in the hide in good condition. Threw in some swag and SL the book the little woman replaced last time. Cleaned the seals and replaced with some more cover. Didn't visit the rushes, though while still a stunner of a day, the weather bomb caught up with us logging the [fifth cache](https://coord.info/GC1NT86) at Matai falls. TFTC
Cache # 3,656 - Pufura and I enjoyed a walk all the way to the end, and took in the views. Not quite making sense of the description, we then had a good (and muddy on my part) look at what would have been the original WP1 before concluding that we were at the wrong spot. It was a quick find once we realised our error. All is well with the cache. TNLNSL. TFTC!
It was hailing as we walked the track, but the sun came out at the boardwalk. Nice view. It took a while to find the cache due to the trees, but the hint got us there. TFTC
This took a while to find, but we managed eventually. The estuary lookout was well worth the visit, biting wind or no. Tftc!
Holidaying in the Catlins and checking out the area. Cool spot! Rushes for Africa!
Walked all the way out to the end of the boardwalk and then collected this on the way back. TFTC
Wet dirty sopping log, cache and swag. Pounced on regular cache from good hide in appalling condition. Amazing what can happen in six months after K.J.R last signed the log if the seals get grubby and the cache ships water. Full cache refresh, new log book, new swag and new PVC baggy to the grab the goods. Cache returned to hide after signing the new logbook credit. Thanks for the smilie. My TB just visiting.
Found this cache together with SpookyEyes during our camper van tour through NZ. Thank you for showing this cool place to us. Greetings from Austria.

Long weekend and time for KJR to head down to the Catlins for another geocaching adventure. Day 4 and a lovely sunny (but fresh) winters day. We had just finished lunch at the Whistling Frog Cafe where K had commented to J & R how cool the picture was on the wall of the board walk through the reeds. Little did we know at the time that that was exactly where we were heading next!!! As soon as we pulled up and spotted the sign we could barely contain our excitement and jumped out of the car and literally sprinted down the track to where the board walk started. A most enjoyable walk with plenty of careful photo stops. TFTC
Nice walk through here today - fairly quick find although gps was jumping around a bit. tftc
TFTC a quick find along our journey. Thank you for a helpful hint on a very wet day.
Found while travelling along the scenic route from Invercargill to the Catlins with a lot of detours. Thanks
Thank you for guiding us to this nice little walk. The cache box was open and lying on the ground in a place were it should not be. I logged and put the box into a place that matches better the hint on the spot. Thank you for the cache!
We did this when we visited NZ in Feb/Mar 2015, thanks for this! Kind regards from Australia.
Mallorcatommy and I were travelling through the southern island of New Zealand. What an amazing, breath-taking landscape! On our way we did some nice walks, enjoyed ourselves and found great geocaches. Thanks to all owners for nice hiding spots... We wouldn't have been to a few places without these little boxes!
Thank you!
Thank you!
Every day we are traveling around is same but also different. Today we had again the pleasure to visit some very beautiful spots and were also able to find nearly placed geocaches. I thank every single owner for placing it and giving us with doing this an other good reason to come here.
There is a new plaque here. Like multis like this. Walking through the reeds was a little different.
A great day trip out and about with the kids and parents to find a few cache! TFTC!
Our le grande tour de Catlins, much anticipated.
Pleased to be getting in amongst the Catlins territory with this one.
We did some clustering about and finally figured what things were about round here! Interesting area to be visiting, that's for sure.
Cache in order, log signed; then safely re-hidden, just as found.
TFTC found with team cacher Sweet P too
The Turtle strikes again!

Found this cache during a 3 day road trip around Catlins. Comfortable walk and Multi. Greetings from a Finnish cacher. TFTC
I had the wrong coords initially, which had me pretty confused, gazing out into the swamp! But then found the correct ones:-)
Took a few minutes to find but this cache was a nice bonus on a pleasant family walk.
Tftc. Try a couple of time to get this but has been a number of car in car park and no where to park
Loved the rushes and wetland! Found in the late afternoon while staying at the forst and bird cabins up the hill. TFTC
Found with c@chetracker I was looking in the wrong place when I heard a 'found it!' TFTC love the Catlins!
A cool bush walk with plenty to read along the way.

This is another of those places that we probably wouldn't have know about without geocaching and it is so worth a stop! Took a little longer to find than it should have as we looked on the wrong side of the track first. Found with Aoraki Sheep.

Currently travelling through the South Island of New Zealand.
Today we drove from Dunedin to the Catlins. We stopped for caches where we could, and saw many interesting places along the way..
This was find number 11 for the day.
GPS was a bit inconsistent but Pam managed to find this one. I was looking opposite the wrong clump.
Thanks wallaceDuo.
