Caching in and around Ararat today with the 4 & 6 year old geokids. A nice quick find. Love turbines. Sort of relaxing just watching them spin. Many thanks for the cache
The wind turbines were awesome to watch, shame we couldn't get too close! Cool camo for the cache, cheers!
Detoured off the main highway to check out the wind turbines. Found the lookout which wasn't very good and saw that it wasn't much further to get this cache! My 350th cache! Found with ryanofoz
I found this awesome cache with Ostara74 while we were on holiday in the area. What a brilliant hide! We enjoyed the hunt for this cache a lot. The local area was very interesting and a great place to visit. Thank you to whitejaegar for their efforts of making and maintaining this cache. Thanks also for bringing us to this amazing spot. I love that caching brings me to new and usually relatively unknown places that I would never even know about, let alone find, if I wasn’t hunting for a cache. This very cool cache was my 1524th find.
Found together with Pathfinder24 on a sunny day.
After a third night of camping in the Grampians it was unfortunately already time to head home. On our way we stopped a few places to look for caches. Pathfinder24 chose to do a deviation from the Highway to give us a better scenic view so we came along this road and made a short stop here. The cache was quickly located and we got the log signed before we were on our way again.
Thanks for the cache whitejaegar!

Decided to do a day trip to Stawell to watch a friend's horse run in the trots up there. Of course, one can't simply do a day trip without a cache stop or few. After the race, we returned to Beaufort the long way around so we could find this cache and admire the wind turbines from a different angle to what we normally see when going up and down the highway. Find # 1924 @ 1735 H
Found with Tyred n Cranky.
Taking Tyred n Cranky's Magna for a run today. After grabbing some of the newer caches we missed around Beaufort, on the day of the evening event. We decided to go up the Highway to Ararat.
with the wind today these "Bird Blenders" were getting a lot of work done.

Find No. 820. Found at 5.35pm with FUF009
A day touring around the countryside caching - Lexton / Beaufort / Ararat areas. FUF009 came with us.
Good to see the renewable energy at work. The 'bird blenders' sure were spinning today due to the weather conditions.
Took 'Cool' badge - Left blue coloured shaped stone.

This was geograndad8's first cache find after we had introduced it to him to the game a few weeks earlier so I thought while was here visiting the geo parents that I'd find it too. Great camo, the pattern is a little outdated but effective. Also gave me a reason to drive around all those pesky roadworks. TFTC
Took this little detour to get a closer look at the wind turbines. I think they look quite majestic!
My partner went off after this one. By now I was just following. Getting late in the day. He had this one in hand in a few minutes. TFTC
One last stop before Ararat and Fish n Chips for dinner. The worst viewing area ever, and an easy track to the cache. Co-ords were good, great camo, no complaints.
Have been given some quality time so what better than a few smilies. After GCBED3 am looking for flatter terrain.
Nice flat area and cache camoflage. The ants that made this home sure had a pungent stench when squashed. Fly spray from the "may-need-it-sometime-box" was a simple solution.

Nice easy find earlier today after a short holiday in Ararat testing out our new camper trailer. Great views, thanks whitejaeger.

I was in the area carting machinery from A to B, so I thought I'd pick this one up en route. GeoDad was kind enough to stop off for five minutes and even give me a hand finding it - the cache is in good nick though the camouflage is a bit worse for wear. Signed, sealed, replaced with no issues - and we drove off into the beautiful sunset. Cheers!
Found it and we can't access our old profile so i'm resubmitting the one's we have found. we r getting back into it again now we have 2 Geo Kids so it should be fun!
Fourth on the Adelaide trip. Now, John hadn't intended to do this one, but the scenic detour was too much of a temptation, and this cache was on the way as well. Sensational views of a great renewable resource, getting some serious output from the day's strong winds. Amazing camo ... made me want to salute somehow. In keeping we took the guardsman, left a geonickel. SL, TFTC!
Suscoe's 6th find of the morning and it was coffee time for us.
We arrived at the parking spot and found a fox hanging on the sign, so turned the car around and enjoyed the cuppa.
Cache was found and the signing was done.
As always we enjoyed the slow and steady turning of the wind turbines, they are always relaxing to watch.
Thanks to whitejaegar for placing this cache.

Found while detouring on the way home. The wind turbines look great with the setting sun on them. Cache and log in great condition, Thanks whitejaegar.
We heading back to Melbourne from the Grampians and took a detour off the highway to get away from the traffic and to look for a cache or two. We pulled up at a suggested photo opportunity which also happened to be the location of this cache. I made my way over towards GZ and about 6 metres before I got there, I literally tripped over the cache. Still in its camouflage cover, it was lying in the open among the long grass.
After signing the log and returning the cache to its camouflage cover, I placed it at the base of the tree that, by my reckoning, is the intended GZ. Thanks to Whitejaegar for putting this cache together.

Found on a caching day out with highrod, ST37E, S 4 Sammy and TilleyTB.
Very wet walk in but cache was dry inside.
Took pathtag and left a pathtag.
We were being watched by a muggle parked on the track. As we headed back to the car she approached us. Ohoh. Turned out she was a lapsed geocacher, AusHunters. We think we talked her in to starting up again!

Indulged my fancy for engineering by getting a bit closer to the action than I normally do when going up the Western Hwy. The hide had enough earwigs to start a personal earwig zoo.

It certainly felt windy here but the turbines looked a bit sluggish. No snakes but plenty of earwigs around the cache. TFTC.
These structures have many opponents, but say what you may they are still impressive structures, moving at very high speeds. The viewing area at which the cache is placed is a little overrun, and we were grateful that it was late in the day so no snake sightings due to the long grass. Thanks for bringing us here. TN L: pathtag. TFTC.
Our group road trip to Adelaide from Melbourne went from four to two at the very last minute. The only consolation of this was that I would be able to pick up more caches on the way, as well as complete the three multi caches that start in Melbourne and finish in Adelaide. This cache was our first stop of the day. We detoured off the freeway to take in the scenic route and was very disappointed with the first viewing area. I was glad to have found the cache and no snakes as I walked through the grass to the cache. Thanks for the cache whitejaegar
Nice scenery and an aptly named cache for today which has been very windy. thanks whitejaegar
There was barely a breath of wind as we approached this location resulting in little movement of the turbines. However, 10 minutes later there was reasonable activity. The cache was a quick find. TFTC whitejaegar
walked 3km from a music festival held on the wind farm site to find this cache @ 14:52 on sunday june 12, 2011. can report the cache is in good condition, no signs of moisture inside the container. it's also quite full with treasures! took a billiard ball, left a marble. TFTC.
Detoured down near here to get a waypoit to another cache so grabbed this one while I was on the way. TFTC
Found today in the company of sully1 on our return from the Spring Camping Event.
Interesting spot, and always cause for debate about the merits of these, but they are an impressive site.

Last of the day in the company of bogonghazy on a trip to Mt Cole and surrounds. It has rained most of the day, but I wasn't going home till I bagged No. 400. and this was it. Found just after 6pm, and a break in the rain, a quick walk to GZ, found and logged. Many Thanks to Whitejaeger.
Due to time constraints on our recent west-east trip, I couldn't grab this one then. Today though, a short diversion from the way down to Hamilton was enough incentive to nab a nice easy find at 16:50. The low cloud today prevented extensive views of the wind farm but several of the windmills were still visible as they silently carried out their work .
TNLNSL. Thanks Whitejaegar.

After the disappointment of not being able to cache in the Mt Cole area due to fires from a controlled burn that got out of hand, I headed out to see the wind farm and find the few caches that circle the farm. Had this one soon after completing 'Chain of Command', hadn't seen this type of camo before so was mildly surprised. Log was signed and cache returned to its spot. TFTC

Found by Roma and Max.
We could see our destination from many kms back on the highway and even from there they looked impressive, not sure we would like to live all that close to them though!
We left our mark in your log and appreciated the camo.
Thank you Whitejaegar for bringing us here.

Had to come down this way to grab some info for Great Aussie Icon Hunt #1.4 (GC1KHVG). Finding a cache with a different perspective added to the experience.
An interesting detour i have always wanted to make but never had the time. There are some great viewing points to look at the wind farms going the scenic way. Its good to see everything still damp around the area after the recent rain. Quickly found the container. TNLNSL. Thanks.
A quick stop here to find the cache and enjoy the view a little then it was off up the road to count towers [^]

Found with Razz'l'Dazz'n'Co on their quest for 100 today. Nice scenic area with light winds today. Perfect day for caching. Thanks for the fun.
A nice find. It is on the way to the farm in which I was heading. Find #3 for the day. It was a bad view this dark day though. The smoke was blowing over from the melbourne bush fires and was so thick not a single wind tower could be seen.

Found at 12.10am GAFF1. Our fourth “warm-up†cache on The Grampians Secrets group expedition weekend. With Ian & Penny and maccamob with us, we sprinted off to find this cache as they had both already done it. It was certainly blowing around here and playing havoc with our fuel consumption as we were towing a van. We have been by this area before and just love the look of the majestic wind mills, however as Muzza mentions, why are they called “wind farms Do they grow and cultivate wind? Thanks Whitejaegar.
I've seen the wind farm from a distance, but didn't realize how many windmills there were. Does a wind farm grow wind? It certainly seemed like it today - the wind was blowing quite strongly. Found the cache nice and easily. Thanks for the cache.
Have been meaning to stop for this cache for quite a while and finally made it. Great view of the windmills even though it was a little overcast. TNLN TFTC
Found by Mary & David at 2030. Now we are humming THATsong by Peter, Paul and Mary! Wonderful views in the evening light with dark clouds gathering behind the wind mills. We did another cache earlier today at the Codrington Wind Farm on the coast. TNLN. Our thanks to Whitejaegar.
Finally took this scenic detour on the way out west. Not as scenic as hoped, but gave us an excuse to grab an out of the way cache.

I've seen a few windfarms this trip and Deano explained the cost benefits to the local land owners - I wish I had some land to put them on! The camo was effective but not as much fun when its wet and contains a few nasty critters.

A quick dash and retrieve on this find as the temperature was only 10, and the wind was getting up. This is certainly a well camouflaged one! T: eraser; L: marble and bracelet. Thanks Whitejaeger.

This was a nice little deviation off the main road and we had a good idea where it might be as we had thought of putting a cache here ourselves. Our previous two caches yielded our 600th overall find and our 250th for the year, this one was to be our 58th FTF.
Some great cammo again Whitejaegar, and with the accurate co-ords, the search area was narrowed to the obvious location.
Some great infrastructure, lucikly not too covered by the fog that nearby Mt. Langi Ghiran and Mt. Gorrin were covered with.
Took the scenic route back to Beaufort and found another viewing area on the way back that got us even closer.
Hopefully if the Stockyard Hill plan goes ahead, I might be able to place a cache very close to one. (land-owners permission shouldn't be too much of an issue).
Took nothing (some very good swaps for kids in there), left Geocoin.
Thanks again WhiteJaegar.
