Laid my eyes on the clever container here quickly which was a relief after walking around in circles at the last cache without any luck. Thanks for the cache nirgalagrin.
Cool cache and clever hide. Exploring Geelong before catching the ferry back to Tasmania. TFTC
To longer than I thought as I searched everywhere. It was where I first looked, I just needed to get a handle on it. Tftc
Delayed log (25/04 for 27/03). In Geelong doing a bit of sorting out at MIL's and I decided it was time to take geo-dog for a walk. (Actually I think geo-dog was giving out subliminal hints ) Did a cache down near the pedestrian bridge and was making my way up towards Shannon Ave bridge. I had planned on trying my luck at "Barwon - A Secret Path" but it looks as though a bit of a tent city has sprung up right in that area. GZ was easy to find and I grabbed something thinking it was the cache and put it down thinking it wasn't. Second thoughts picked it up again and sure enough it was. TFTC Bushfire and nirgalagrin for adopting. A fav for the cuteness .
I placed this cache on the 01.May.2008, gee that is a long time ago, but not as long as some that I have hidden. This cache along with over a hundred and fifty others have been adopted out to other folk who I hope are happy to look after these guys as the ageing Bushfire has developed a health problem that will only get worse so a big thanks to all these great friends. Finally, I must thank my good friend nirgalagrin for looking after this guy as it has got to the stage when I must pass it on and wish it good luck for the future. I know it is in good hands. And lastly, I will give it another favourite point because I can now. Thanks for all the great logs that have been placed over many years.
Cache container reattached as intended. Can't have it wandering off, can we?Thanks to Riddell for the alert and The_Tritonz for their assistance.
A nice little hide. Great to find an ammo box! However its retainer needs some attention to keep it within its host and safe. Will I form the cache caretaker to maintain.TFTC Lovely day for a walk around the Barwon.
After meeting the legendary Bushfire yesterday, we made it our mission to find some classic Bushfire caches nearby. This is a VERY busy spot on a glorious Sunday morning - more dogs and bike riders than I have seen but luckily this one tucked a little off the track. We did have to make some temporary reattachment so would be worth having a look at nirgalagrin. Thanks for contributing to our game Bushfire and thanks to nirgalagrin for ongoing maintenance of this 15year old cache. Regardskbucky
After a big day in Greater Geelong yesterday, KBucky and I decided to head out on Olive and my nameless trusty treadle to find a clutch of caches close to our temporary home base. Nice weather and few people made for a quick find at GZ but we did do some "reattaching". After meeting up with the legendary Bushfire at Saturdays Christmas event, we are really happy to find some of the caches he has placed over the years...nothing like a name to a face! TFTC and the FUN!
What lovely days weve been having this week! On Wednesday I caught up with a friend of mine at one of my favourite cafes, Hahndorfs Chocolates on Pakington Street. Wed been planning on walking to Space Gallery after the cafe but alas they were closed so I convinced my friend to walk along the river with me. How convenient that there happened to be two caches along our walk. Who would have thought! After finding GC12V20 The Secret Path we walked along till we reached GZ for this cache. If we found the cache, my friend would have two cache finds to her name. The search was on!!Armed with sticks for poking about we started investigating possible hidey holes. The GPS kept jumping about a little but eventually settled on one spot. We checked one end each then swapped in case wed missed something. Something looked slightly suss and then I spotted a glint of something I knew didnt belong. Called my friend over and she searched again. She couldnt believe it when she found it! Her hand had been on it several times while looking!! After signing the log with both our names and hiding the cache again, we chatted while heading back up to Pako. We have another geocacher to add to our lovely community! We are already making plans for more geocaching together. Thank you Bushfire for helping introduce my friend to the world of geocaching!Cache is in great condition and we both liked the hide. Id recommend grabbing a stick to poke around with so that you can be careful of snakes and spiders. My friend and I make a great pair shes terrified of snakes and I do not like spiders! Thankfully neither were spotted on this day but stay safe lovelies! Thanks for the cache! Peace, Tara Found 2.10 pm Wednesday 27 September 2023. Signed log as: Tara and Britta Took nothing, left nothing. Geocaches found: 28 Photo: no hints, just a glimpse at our walk back up to Pako! An iced coffee with my name on it was calling from above.
Came here first time at 6am and it was pitch black, and the hint didnt make sense to me. Came back today at 4pm and im like “oh my god how did i miss that”
Found it easy now, pika 26/7/23

I noticed this one pop up on my app recently after being reenabled by Bushfire. This afternoon, after dropping middle DuckNomNom kid at a party nearby, I had the opportunity to make a quick trek along the river path to try and locate. A clever hiding spot, on a path less travelled by muggles gave me the opportunity to explore the area without being noticed. Wasn't too long before I had the cache in hand - after another minute or two, I worked out how to open it. Signed and returned as found. Thanks for the cache, Bushfire!
Love this little box. Haven’t seen one of those before. A neat, quick hide for collecting along the Barwon. We are spoiled for good walks around here.
I thought that today was the perfect day for a riverside walk, and what better way to improve that walk is to find some caches. Team ExplorerChuck were happy to find this one without too much trouble, just had too avoid the muggles. Happy to say that both cache and log are in great condition and clearly recently replaced. Thanks to Bushfire for keeping up with the required maintenance so we all can keep enjoying this fun game. TFTC.
Have found some of the bits required but still require one vital part, working on it. Back shortly.
This cache has suffered from the recent flood and is somewhere out to sea at the moment but I am in the process of building a new one so in the next few weeks it will be back.
I think this would have been washed away. Still surrounded by mud and would have been under water
Due to all the water that is around this guy may have floated away but when the water recedes low enough I will check it out. It should be still there but you never know during a flood as it will be wet that's for sure.
Went to the Event: Geelong Picnic In The Park: Lead Up Event. What a wonderful day! Went and did a multi with a group from the event, then off we went on our own. The weather held up nicely and after attempting another multi we decided to grab some quick finds.
This cache: very cute and clever! In great condition!

Found while caching in and around Geelong after maccamob's wedding anniversary celebration.
It wasn't until after sunset that I noticed that I had a few solved puzzles by the river around Belmont.
And in the midst of those puzzles and a couple of Adventure Labs in progress... this cache.
Ah... a tribute to the CO's first find, which ties in nicely with the reason I'm in town today.
Another finely constructed cache, Bushfire... perfect for when one is fishing for a smiley.
And I'm guessing that inner container is a fitting tribute to the older hide near here.

Found with teamashy and geoniece. Loved it! Signed log and returned as found. TFTC
After a morning event, thomo31 and myself headed out to complete some caches, geo daughter loved this one. TFTC
Wow nice hide! As an inexperienced geocacher this is one of the coolest ones I have found! Thanks to Bushfire for the nice cache, in a nice location as well
Nice easy find, unfortunately we were unable to open it... so took a pic as proof. Gee the water is up really high!
#591! That is the coolest tin ever. So awesome. Loved going for a walk and finding this. CacheMeIfY0uCan247 formerly NicandPaul
Clever little cache. GPS was a bit whacy but there were only so many logs in the area. TFTC
Yes the log was full but you only had to put that in your log and I would have seen it, it did not require a needs maintenance placed on it.
A new stone paper log has been placed in a new plastic bag so should be OK for some time.

Back out again with Rebel Acts looking for a few hides close to our caravan park. As this one was retrieved from its hidden-hole I felt a bit faint. A bushfire hide and we found it this quickly. We were most thankful. Well done
We have now been in Geelong for just over a week and have really enjoyed the sights and the caching. We even got out this morning to complete a new Adventure Lab. The weather is a magnificent Autumn day so we are enjoying that.
There are some real quality hides, and polished cache containers. We are also regularly having difficulty finding some as we have come across quite a number of hides that we have not encountered before. Always good to see some new variety.

It’s busy here during lockdown, so I’m also out during my 2 hr allotment on my new toy hoping that my daughter might actually be able to get married after two previous C word postponements.
After being unsuccessful at the previous cache, I continued down the trail getting perilously close to my 5k limit. So I slid down to this cache and took in the view while I spied the likely hide with the hint in mind. Hmm, my geosense is picking up something, sure enough, a very clever hide! Love the inner hide too!

Tftc Bushfire. Really loved the detail on this, the second of your caches I've found. Tranquil early morning but chased away by a muggle mossie! Cheers.
Really cool hide, and well hidden from the main walking path! A great addition to our evening walk, TFTC!
No problems finding this one, although it was a little challenging to get it open xD tftc
Nice! Great spot really peaceful next to the river and like the innovative hide - still no pen to sign but roll of paper was very secure inside a triple layer
This one gave us an opportunity to get a closer look at the river as up until now we had mainly been strolling along the well made path. We have bought push bikes to ride trails with but here we are again walk, walk walking, seems we must like walking. We did have a good chuckle at this cache container and attachment. SL TFTC
Bushfire has been over to Carnegie to collect a few of my caches and got a FTF if I remember rightly. Doing 135km Round the Bay from Geelong tomorrow. Staying overnight so went for a great bike ride down to the Barwon before heading back into town. With a muggle friend who does not mind me stopping occasionally to find “treasures” as he calls caches. We were close to this one so we stopped. Found the clever hide in a few minutes with the cutest cache inside. Fav point from me too. Long term cache and a classic hide. This was one of 2 hides this afternoon. Thanks Bushfire for maintaining this cache.
