Found the only likely spot for a cache here... but nothing was there except an orange clip. Thanks for showing us the old station anyways.
Found on our Ballarat Smackdown weekend with DazRascal, Blacklegend, Trailrunning and Quasar3671!
Another enjoyable multi and a short stroll to GZ where there were quite a few muggles. Plenty of us to destract them as one of us signed the log.
Many thanks for your information and bringing us here. TNLN SL. Cheers.

One of 184 cache finds during our "Ballarat Smackdown" weekend of caching on the 23rd to 25th. There were 13 of us including Blacklegend and three of his kids, Trailrunning, Haveanez and their two boys, Dazrascal and myself amd my two boys Tyler and Cooper. We'd spent a few weeks planning the trip, with every Ballarat Puzzle solved in the area, cache lists and road and route maps all ready to go. We stayed in the Miners Retreat Motel for the two nights and the accomodation and facilities were great. Our goal was simple - find as many caches as possible in the time we were here !
We found a great variety of caches and hides during the three days, which also involved a bit of walking and some 4WD fun as well in the state forests north of Ballarat. The weather was quite cold of the Friday and Saturday morning but eventually cleared to nice sunny weather Saturday arvo and Sunday. We all had a great time, especially the kids who did really well to keep up with the pace we were moving.
Our second day of caching and it was to be our biggest day and fullest day too. We found that the area was full of muggles this Saturday afternoon. Calculating the coords for GZ was nice and easy and we gathered at GZ for cover as the cache was found and log signed. Thanks Dazza1.

One of 182 caches I personally found during our "Ballarat Smackdown" trip. The trip included teams Quasar3671, Trailrunning, Haveanez, Dazrascal and myself. Caches included around 30 mystery caches, a few earth caches, lots of trads and multis and both day and night caching. Some 4WD action was encountered as well, which was great. All puzzles within 60kms were solved.
I took three of my kids, Jasmine 7yo, James and Jemma 5yo twins, traveling from Tocumwal. The trip covered 3 days and two nights, staying in Ballarat. Quasar3671 took his two boys as did Haveanez. One of the best caching trips I have been on, and certainly lots and lots of finds, almost clearing out the main Ballarat area. Home base was the Miners Retreat motel, which was quite pleasant and quiet.
This was a find on our massive Saturday run, which included both day and night caches. Lunch was a picnic in the bush at one or our cache stops. A night caching run was undertaken after a rest and dinner.
Quick calc, recalc then a find between muggles. They were numerous on the day. TFTC.

After a successful Friday evening to start off the “Ballarat Cache Smackdown” with 34 finds on the first day the Saturday was always going to be a day of superhuman effort. It started early with a run heading west and south, only to finish the day and night with a run to the Northwest and North. A great day was had by all because there was some good 4WDing and the weather held out for the day with only one notable shower. A total of 98 caches were collected today, and it shows you how quickly a cache can be located with so many searchers. This is one cache we found. Lots of muggles here on Saturday. Thanks for cache #59.

My Hubby (Digital_Dan) & I are on vacation with our good friends, Mr & Mrs benny7210. Made out way from Ballarat where we are staying, picking up caches along the way. Yet another Must Do, since I AM a bunny and all LOL Nice ibt of history here. It's why we are so glad that we chose Ballarat and vicinity to stay in. Thanks for bringing us here...it's why we love caching..to see stuff the average tourist would NEVER see!! SL TFTC
On vacation caching with our friends Anne and Dan in the Fiji, New Zealand, and Austraila. Logs were signed BenDiGiFu. We are from the USA. Thanks for placing the cache....Benny7210

This Bunny isn't running anymore, so we brought our own "Bunny" along (Cache_boppin_BunnyFuFu that is), and she IS still running!! This find was pretty much all her. She figured the coordinates for the final AND made the find on the Cache!! Visiting in Ballarat while on Holiday from the USA. Thanks for the History & the cache!!
I think we must of messed up the calculations somewhere along the line and still managed to fluke a find. Interesting spot. Thanks Dazza1
Found this one today with De_Huon
GPS had me about 100m from it
just lucky to see the platform
we had to go to

Found around 3.00pm by Team Ladava on our 'Base to Ballarat & Buninyong Birthday Bash with baby&Mrs gopher'.
Like others we struggled with the answers to some of the questions despite it seeming a straight forward multi but the prize was easily located in an obvious spot.
A nice bit of local history.
Our thanks to Dazza1for the cache and bringing us to this location.

We did the sums and were told to go 130m away...hmmm...don't think so.
After having a look at the hint and a previous log, we knew where it mught be, and that was not where we were going to go originally.

The multi clues got challenging towards the end! But I conquered them and found the cache a short stroll later.
Found after getting off on the wrong foot but reconsidering the f question and the hint led us to the treasure.

We are up from Melbourne this weekend for some caching fun - a great day weatherwise today and what a great place Ballarat is for caching. This was a really interesting location and I really enjoyed seeing the remains of the railway. Got a little bit lost at one stage but got there in the end - thanks for a really
great cache.!

Took nothing, left nothing.

I found this cache with caughtatwork and big sister J today. Another tricky cache and I didn't even have to leave the car to find it. Thank you.
This was cache # 35 of 45 for the day, the cache was found in the company of Alansee and Team Crackers. A nice multi and a nice historical location. My thanks to Dazza1 for the cache.
A nice straightforward little multi celebrating a bygone time, and reminding us of how communities change. One of the good things about caching on a Monday is that there are few muggles about, which certainly made this much easier. Thanks, Dazza1.
Knew a cache was in the area, but stumbled on this one with the kids and without a gps! No pen to sign log, and didn't have one on me to donate. TFTC
A well thought out multi that had me taking in a lot of information about the location. If the site was a traditional I would have brezzed in and out and been none the wiser. Thanks Dazza1.
I spose we cheated on this one. We thought we would be smart by reading the clue and did a once over of the area. Bingo! Got it without working out the clues!

We found our 5th Dazza1 cache at 12:10pm as the 13th of 40 on our Ballaratatattat Tour V in company of Backpaqer. The 'f' value sent us to the wrong end of the park. We changed to the other possibility but we still reckon that there is a plural misinterpretation in the clue. Once corrected, we were straight to the cache. Thanks for the cache from D B-A.
My third find along this rail line. I had a bit of trouble determining exactly what one of the questions was wanting, ending up with 3 possible answers. (So much for being a pedantic old ex-English teacher.) The third one landed me on the most logical spot however, and the well-hidden cache was located. A good little hide. I suspected it had to be there but I ended up having to check it out 3 times before I was thorough enough to find it. No exchanges made. Many thanks for an interesting cache Dazza 1.
4th find of the caching run, and 2040th total find at 12:48.
Somehow we messed up the math's, but still managed to locate this elusive cache

For Queensland eyes those tracks are a long way apart! I have a soft spot for disused train caches (and walk/bikeways). cheers
I'm always fascinated by where the old railways run, and enjoy caches along disused lines. I've done a couple along this line, and enjoyed checking out this station. We calculated GZ and headed there for a quick find. Thanks for the cache, and a bit more of a look at the station.
Found 11:50, in the company of Muzza, a nice quick find in an interesting location.

Found today with Neilo at 9:00am, worked out solution and went to grassed area ( no cache ) then read clue and found cache easy. Great little platform, Thanks Dazza1.
Well, I've been past here a few times but never realised this was here! An interesting spot and thanks to Dazza1 for putting a cache here.
Found by Mary & David at 1520. We love old railway history, so this one ticked the right box. We've previously done 'Ghosts of Trains gone by', and also 'Bunny Trail' at the Ballarat end. The earliest cache on the old line was embi's 'The Bunny (Rail Trail 2)', but when we arrived to find it, only the muggled remains were there. Did the sums today, but ended up in a strange place with no likelihood of a cache. Rechecked the data at the sign, and couldn't spot our error, so just went with the clue and found the cache soon after. Thankfully, no muggles about to slow us down. Our thanks again to Dazza1.
This cache took us to a part of Buninyong we wouldn't nomally visit, we never seem to stray far from the main street. SL.
Found at 2.00pm GAFF1. After a bit of a "dull" moment with one of the questions it was onto the cache and a quick find. The history that is revealed by these caches is very impressive. Thanks Dazza1.
I really enjoyed this interesting multi. In fact I've been impressed with the caches in the town in general over the years I've visited. The old buildings and historical monuments add a lot of character to the place and I always learn something new when I visit. After collecting the clues here I was able to make an easy find, they're my favourite kind!
Thanks, I really liked this one.

Good to see a cache at this familiar piece of rail history. Collected the coin. Thanks Dazza1.
We pulled up at wpt1 and collected the required information and headed off to gz where we found nothing. Back to wpt1 to sort out where we had gone wrong, We couldn't see any obvious mistakes so we decoded the hint and with a bit of lateral thinking we soon had the cache in hand
We left a geo coin there

Nice hide Dazza1. I admired this place ages ago when i was doing a job across the road and it was nice to see it again. Found quickly but had to sit on a seat for a while as a car drove up and parked right in view of the cache location! Eventually they drove off again as i didn't look as if i was going anywhere i suppose.

Find # 2423 and 18th of the day at 3:08pm. Accompanied by Feathertop on another cache cleanup day in and around Ballarat. Had a bit of a problem with some of the questions but after a bit of deducting were able to work it out. TNLN, Signed Log, Thanx Dazza1....
Oenze and I enjoyed reading about the history here and I had the mini laptop out and together we worked out GZ. Made one error but quickly corrected it when we realised where we needed to be.

Found using the force due to the fact that I mucked up the calculations, and the cache was placed 14.3km from the 1st signboard!!
Decided to look around using the clue, and the force is strong in my family young Fozzwalker!! I found it without the GPS!!

Since this is my closest cache within 45km, I had been a bit slack getting here.
I don't get out to Buninyong as often as I used to, but even when I was a frequent visitor, I never knew that this place was here.
A history lesson first then it was on to the cache.
Thanks to Dazza for a another location I wasn't familiar with.
