Looked and looked for this cache on 21/08/24, but unfortunately I did not find.Stopped looking when I remembered all the local reptiles I had seen at the reptile park in Darwin! It was a very hot day and while I dont often log a DNF, I gave this one a fair go. Tricky with the GPS jumping around a bit.Thanks anyway!

We found this cache after a scramble on the rocks. The cache is very well hidden. We signed the log with the pencil in the cache.Twelve crocs up to 4m long at the crossing. Aggggggggghhhhhhhhhh..................The art work is amazing here. Awesome location.Freddo and e.gregory1 were heading up the middle of Australia following Stuart's well trodden route. We were travelling in air conditoned comfort and style. No stale food. No camels to carry water. We were leaving the cold winter for the northern season.Today was the day to find this cache. Today is the twentieth and ninth day of Julius Caesar's Month in the wonderful year of twenty twenty four. We found your cache container and added some inky stuff to the paper sheet or note pad you have supplied for a log book or scroll. The cache container and log book or scroll were in good condition. It was a cool cloudy and raining. No wind today.With the log signed and the cache replaced it was time to leave. Onwards to the next cache. Woot, that is not to far.I would like to show my respect and acknowledge the Traditional Custodians of the Land, and their continuing connection to it. I wish to pay my respects to Aboriginal and Torres Strait Islander cultures; and to Elders past, present and emerging.I will apologize right now, because everything from here on is here solely for the purpose of padding the word count and winning that one hundred word diamond badge again. Somebody moved the goal posts. So many caches to find. So many caches to log. We find them, sign them and replace them.This particular geocache was found using one of the following GPS enabled devices, Garmin GPSr, Montana 680t, Oregon 650 or Dakota 20 and an Apple iPhone 11 using the marvelous Cachly app. Waypoints and paperless geocaching were downloaded via GSAK 9. Log prepared, checked and submitted using GSAK publish logs macro.Warning, this hobby can be addictive. It can lead to exercise, meeting new people and finding interesting places you might not have known existed otherwise. Beware: you may have fun. Apologies for the generic part of the cache log. We do apologise for the generic logs. Thanks to all the cache owner for placing this cache here for our enjoyment.Thanks for the cache. Merci la cache. Danke fr den Cache. Gracias por el cach. We didnt find this but thats OK. We are on a group tour and stopped at Cahills Crossing for a short time to check out the crocs as a sort of warning about whats ahead of us on this six day visit. We did attempt to find it but only had a very limited time and it didnt come to hand immediately. Never mind. We head an unreal time at Ubirr and will never forget the outlook over the flood plain and the ancient rock art. Cheers Gaztek

Day 72 of our greynomad trip up north from Vic, after a the JLWEvents in Wudinna SA, a tour of Maralinga and caching to claim LGAs in the Eyre Peninsula, through to Alice Springs, Uluru then to Darwin we have escaped the southern weather that has been wet and windy. It is also day 71 of a streak, so we would like to keep it rolling.

Making an overnight trip to Kakadu. Unfortunately the crocs weren't performing so well at Cahills Crossing tonight, but at least we found a cache.

We have the day in Kakadu, starting with a scenic flight to the north over the escarpments, then a drive to Cahills Crossing.
We searched high and low… a bit too high initially, before following the GPS back around to the cache.
After finding the cache we went and checked out Cahills Crossing - which turned out to be one of the highlights of the trip...

Thanks for hiding your cache!

We have a few nights in Kakadu, and of course we need to grab all the caches around! Had a great time grabbing all the caches in some great locations…

This was a great spot- and what brought us to the river crossing nearby which was our first time seeing a croc in the wild (more like first 15 crocs)

Cache is all in good condition, TNLN SL…

Thanks for placing and maintaining this cache Groboz

Dieses Jahr ist es endlich soweit und wir reisen nach Australien um die Gibb-River-Road zu fahren. Eigentlich sollte dies schon 2020 stattfinden, aber da kam irgendwas dazwischen. Also 2023 ein neuer Anlauf.

München->Singapur->Perth->Broome->...->Gibb-River-Road->...->Darwin->München

Am Morgen liefen wir den Barrk Walk und hatten dann noch genug Zeit für die Felsmalereien hier in der Gegend.

Kurz rumgeklettert und umgesehen und dann die Dose erspäht.

This morning we were going to visit Ubirr, yet before entering the rock art site we wanted to find our cache of the day. The border store was already closed for the season, there was no one around, only birds and butterflies.

We got up very early this morning from Jabiru, to come and do some walking in this area today. Despite it being the middle of winter it’s still felt incredibly hot by mid morning.
After visiting the nearby border store, and having a look at some beautiful indigenous artwork, we came for a walk here.
Some really lovely rocks to climb up on and soon we had our name added to the log here.
Thanks Groboz

We went up to Ubirr early this morning to look at the rock paintings and the lookout before the temperature increases. There were lots of mosquitoes during the walk. That was the only downside though, as everything else up here is wonderful. Did the full loop and lookout which was very picturesque, then came down to Cahill Crossing and watched several vehicles make it across the river.
Animal sightings: goanna, kangaroo, rock wallaby, fish, lizard, birds of some type. Also saw the largest poo I’ve ever seen- unknown what species. TFTC

Visiting from Adelaide and enjoying your country. Don’t like the crocs so much, so this was a nice safe one
So I thought.
Anyway, I scrambled up the rocks and found the healthy cache and turned to climb down - and I swear to whoever is listening that a dingo slinked past me along the edge of the road!
Nearly had a fit!! Don’t know if they attack/eat big people but I didn’t want to find out so I slipped down those rocks like a blo*dy 10 year old and back into the car! I was going to ask at the cafe about the ‘dingo’ I thought I met, but it was closed coz one of the local Elders died and everything had shut down. Respect.
But no ice creams either Sad
Cache and log book OK. Thanks for the adventure Smile
I’m giving it a favourite point

Today our tour - which began in Perth, WA , and led us thru Western, Northern and Southern Australia back to Perth, was simply driving around in the Kakadu NP.

On the way we came to some interesting locations. Here we searched, found and logged this Tradi-Cache.

Weather was good in the morning and it should even get better during the day.

Thanks to 'Groboz' for showing us this location, for the fun we had with 'Uber Ubirr' and for the smiley. The search here and today didn't take too much time, fortunately.

... while waitinģ for the opening of the rock art park site ....

Something about the cache:
**================================================================================
We stopped at the Cafe and walked along the road until we found a path into the wilderness.
We climped the rocks, up and down until we discovered the container.
Afterwards we continued to the Art Site and saw a lot of drawings.
================================================================================**
Something about the day:
*================================================================================
From october 16 to november 6 2019, my wife (lp.dk) and I visited Australia for the first time.
After a flight of more than 20 hours, we landed in Darwin. After 2 nights in the city we continued in a rented car first towards Kakadu National Park and later towards Alice Springs.
In Alice Springs we were picked up in an off-road bus and went on a 3-day trip into the wilderness, with overnight stays in a tent close to Uluru.
Back in Alice Springs we drove all the way to Adelaide, from where we flew to Sydney, where we visited our son who has settled there.
After 5 days in the city, we flew back to Singapore, which we visited for 2 days before the final flight back to Copenhagen.
In total, the trip lasted just over 3 weeks.
On the trip we would like to find / visit as many Earth caches, Virtual and Webcams as possible, but also the other kinds of caches when possible.
================================================================================*
No trade.

On a adVANture around Aus, and today found myself out this way... No lunch for us at the border store (closed), and no crocs at Cahill crossing (low tide) but did find it humbling to go places where the first people had been living for 40,000 odd years, and a spectacular 360° view of Kakadu besides... I didn't expect to find a cache out here at all, so the fact I did was just a double bonus. Thanks for the opportunity to mark my visit with a smiley on the geomap Groboz.
