I met up with The Green Geckos and Muggle65 at the parking location.
Now time for hill climb. It was a quick walk up the rocky face. At least there was enough grip on the surface and it wasn’t wet.
At GZ it was an easy find now off to the next cache.
The Lost Bunch thank you for placing and maintaining this cache for my enjoyment.

has been threatening to do theses caches for a while now & today was ideal for just the gentle assault. Easy find & cache in great condition.
Last week we were seeing the cityscape from Spicer’s Peak from the South West, today it’s a due north address I can clearly see the buildings.

Muggle65, Brislions and l parked up at the gate for the Cooee fire trail. We were very soon at GZ having enjoyed some stunning scenery on the way. We were very lucky that the rock faces were bone dry and the surface was very grippy to walk on. Cache was found in great condition. Thank you for the awesome views
A return visit to this area after not continuing on to this cache after finding Cooee back in July. Today I had the grandson in tow with me (I think his grandma sent him along to look after me!!) All went well, although I did trip and fall twice (bloody tree roots or is it my age!!) Cache was soon spotted by grandson, log signed and returned as found, all good here. FP for the adventure. This cache and cooee are chock full of forever memories.
This is my kind of geocaching.
Taking me somewhere amazing.
This was one of the two targets for the day. I decided i wanted to climb a mountain on my birthday. Well, that never happened.. and the next day was a write-off, so..
Here we are the day after that.
Pedalling ourselves furiously thirty odd kms southwards to a random firetrail at the base of cooee at stupid oclock.
We actually came to this cache first on the little mountain. We followed ribbons up till suddenly we didn't. Found the rock cairn.. then a couple of ancient other overgrown ones before we realised it was the trail before the ribbon path was a thing.
Backtracked to the top again and stomped our way across the mini plateau till we came across gz.
Where we sat for a good long while.
Even got the drone out for a scoot.
Eventually, reluctantly, we made our way over to the other cache up here.
It seems a walking club also find and sign the log every time they ascend too.
Thanks so much the lost bunch for choosing to hide a cache up here where the views stretch to the sea.
An easy favourite point.

The distance of 300 odd meters included a lot bushwalking, as pink ribbons had disappeared....
Reached the GZ, enjoyed the views of the other Glasshouse Mountains, found the cache, and signed the log. I took the TB.
The way back to the clearly marked pink ribbons trail was a bit easier.

After finding the Cooee! cache I bush bashed my way following my arrow getting closer to GZ then saw that I had to go up there. Found an easy way up and soon spotted my favourite cache container. After signing the log and replacing the cache I found a much easier way back to join up with the pink tape. So pleased I wore long pants and long sleeves for this adventure today. Thanks The Lost Bunch for the cache and my adventure today. Loved it!
Doing some mid length Glasshouse walked with dadidwazza today.
Not much of a path from coeee if there was one at all?
Good views all the way to Moreton Island

Today, I joined karicka with a few minor hikes around the Glass House Mountains. This was a late plan change due to wind warnings for southern ranges, with karicka wanting to do *Cookie monster*. That turned out to be a quicker find than what we had anticipated, so we then headed up other mountains, which included Mount Cooee, Mount Ngungun, and Mount Beerburrum. We also walked the Yul-yan-man track, targeting the *Yul Yan Man Track - Glass House Mountains* Adventure Lab, which was an approximate 10 km hike completed in about 3.5 hr (which included the added Mount Beerburrum detour). Once karicka departed, I ascended Mount Tibberoowuccum ("Castle Wing"), and then headed back home via Caboolture.
After finding GC1BG7N *Cooee!*, we continued our walk to this geocache. It was surprising to find a Geocacher finding this cache on 25/04/2021 only a few months ago, but not finding Cooee! ? We actually found the route from the nearby traditional cache tougher than the ascent itself, since there didn't appear to be too many animal tracks, and some dense vegetation here/there. We eventually made it to GZ, and the hint was useful in finding the cache. The cache container and logbook were in good shape. Some great views of the east from here; Thanks The Lost Bunch for the cache placement and ongoing maintenance.

As we were already up there it made sense to traverse the rugged land to get to Wild Views. The trip was arduous and resulted in a few wounds. Glad to find the cache with impressive views! Awesome spot and I thoroughly enjoyed it!
Grabbed Cooee now it was cross country bush bashing to get to this one. Sooo much fallen timber in a straight line course!! Then between the timber came across prickly grasses, lantana and the occasional prickly vine. Would have been better suited to get to the crest of Cooee then walked along the ridge that to walk in a straight line to the wild views. Found the cache nicely tucked away behind a small rock wall. Cheers for maintaining this cache 'The Lost Bunch'.
Goodies found it Nice little quiet spot not many humans would venture up here. Thanks for the opportunity to venture in this area. And really a little bit of bush bashing but nothing to hard. Nice little stroll in the bush. Love the hiding place you just wonder how long it has been growing like that for.
Attenpted, area has become extremely overgrown and we also could not get a solid signal
I'd promised the CO a long time ago that I would replace the broken container with an ammo tin he supplied.
I saw that someone claimed a find yesterday, strawberries?, and mentioned the broken container. So today I headed out and after checking my cache headed to GZ.
It was an enjoyable walk but sadly someone had left rubbish and pink ribbons throughout the bush so I took my time and collected all the rubbish before reaching GZ.
Once at GZ the old container was removed and replaced with the ammo tin. Previous finders had kindly placed a small container with paper but I removed that too as it wouldn't hold the new log.
Yesterday's mysterious logger, strawberries, wasn't in the log book either. Looks like another phantom logger joins the game!
After signing the new log all was replaced ready for the next physical finder.

Found it. Have never climbed Cooee so this cache and Cooee was the carrot being dangled. A beautiful clear day for perfect views. TFTC
After a tiugh climb up a rock face and bush bashing reached summit with geowife Dora the Explorer. I was hoping we would find a easier track back. Did Cooee cache and then across summit to this one. Up top walking across summit no worries. Followed a faint trail and reached gz after some wrong turns. Found cache on edge of big drop so sag down back fron edge to sign log. Wife found a faint trail and we folloed in a gradual descent. Her gps showed a fire trail further down and we headed for it to get out of more bush bashing and cuts. Reached some power lines went past a farm and reached fire trail. It turned out to be the same trail we came in on from the locked gate.
After our torturous journey up the mountain through the vicious prickly wattle barrier guarding the summit, we had a pleasant walk across the top through light bush with hardly anything trying to scratch us to pieces....
We soon foung ourselves close to the southern edge of the mountain with a view of a quarry over near the highway that we had not realised was there. J quickly found the correct location once I read out the hint. A interestingly barked tree was guarding it well. We backtracked behind the tree to sit down and sign so as not to be too close to the edge. We thought we could have a nice little rest here but we got attacked by some microscopic bities that were extremely ferocious. Even after a thorough application of insect repellant, we could not bear to stay still for more than a few seconds. Quickly signed the new replacement log in nice new secure container (original has a substantial hole) and there being no swaps, left a silver yoyo to start it off again.
Not wanting to repeat our miserable experience getting up the mountain as we were covered in scratches, we perused the satellite map and decided to try to reach the firetrail on the northern side where the contours indicated that it was less steep. This plan avoided the cliffs but not the prickly barrier, so we still had to push through at our own peril, slipping down lots of loose rocks and fallen branches underfoot.
To cut a long story short, we eventually found the fire trail and walked back to the picnic area on the Tibrogargan track from there... relieved to have survived the experience without having to call in a rescue helicopter.... On the way, we did see a slight track near a tree marked with tape, so maybe this was the way we should have taken!
Briefly passed the unchatty ranger on the way back and after a brief rest on the seat admiring Mt Tibrogargan again and turning our back on Mt Cooee hopefully forever, we contined along to complete the circuit track, which was quite nice and refreshing in the forest, especially on the shady southern side of the mountain. Great views also of Mt Tiberoowuccum on the way past that we have also conquered recently which I really would recommend as an enjoyable experience (notso unfortunately with Cooee).
Our whole walk took 3.5 hours - we were glad to have done it but wish we had found the less arduous path...

Slow Puncture organised an outing to come find the 2 caches on Cooee today, so 1MinnieMoo, wombles&co, spinna76 and CDAH55 SP and I met up early and we made the climb. The going was a bit slow from Cooee due to the dense foliage, and we found it hard to find a way to GZ without getting ripped to ribbons.
We found coords out by 12m, but once we located the tree from the hint, the container was located. Unfortunately the plastic container has perished badly due to UV exposure, these things were designed to sit in a cupboard keeping bikkies fresh rather than outside in the elements for almost a decade [^]. A big hole has made the contents wet and mouldy and the log is sodden and manky. I had a small cliplock in my pack and a fresh log and baggie, these have been placed inside the existing container and returned as found.
Its been fun to walk and climb somewhere different and see the Glasshouse mountains from yet another different vantage point!

Thanks The Lost Bunch for bringing us here, this find makes 3871. Discover our TB.

This was the second of two caches planned today by Orange Crew, Slow Puncture, 1minniemoo, wombles&co, spinna76 and myself.
After finding Cooee we headed over to this cache and after picking our way through some prickly vegetation we made it to GZ however it took a little while to find. It appears that the coordinates were out by about 10m.
When found an attempt was made to sign the log however it was damp so Orange Crew grab some materials out of his pace and put in some fresh log pages, a zip lock bag and another plastic container to keep thing dry.
We all signed the fresh pages and returned to the cache and hid the cache as found.
There are some definately good views from this mountain over to the other mountains in the Glass House area.

#1383 ~ Found in the company of Orange Crew, CDAH55, 1MinnieMoo, wombles&co and Slow Puncture. I'm not going to write some big long log as the others have shared my experience on this cache in their logs and because I'm lazy. That being said, a thank you to Slow Puncture for the invite today and to the CO the lost bunch for bringing us here.
After finding the cache at the other end, we headed towards this one. It was a bit wild up here, but the views!
When we arrived at GZ, we spread out to look for the cache.
After a while it was located, 8m or so from where our devices were telling us it should be.
Orange Crew had some supplies with him, so he fixed up the cache as best as possible, so many years of sun have been a bit much for this poor container.
Now back across the top and then down that rocky part, this time on my bottom. My pants survived and then I managed to trip over one of the fallen trees on the flat fire trail!

Saturday. Mrs SP was at the Glasshouse Mountains today with Orange Crew, Spinna76, Wombles & Co, 1MinnieMoo & CDAH55.
Moving on from Cooee, we came across less inviting trees and plants – these ones were the trees with sharp little spikey leaves. We followed what seemed to be a path for most of the way between Cooee and Wild Views caches, but the path did seem to disappear a couple of times. We even found a couple of arrows marked out on the rocks on the way up that showed which way to go and a pick ribbon. We had a little trouble finding this cache, despite the hint! Our arrows were pointing to a place a short distance away. With so many of us looking for the cache however, it wasn’t long before we heard the “found it” call. Cache container really does need replacing. The log book was so wet we couldn’t get our pens to work. Luckily Mr OC had a small container, which we put a waterproof piece of paper in and then put the new little container inside the original cache container which had a large hole in it. I meant to bring a replacement container with me (having read a previous log), but forgot on this trip. Lovely location and on such a beautiful day. All up, we spent a couple of hours collecting both Cooee and Wild Views, as we spent a little time taking photos and looking at the views.
This was the 2nd of 2 caches found on today's trip.
Thanks ***The Lost Bunch***, for showing us this beautiful place.

The second of the caches planned for today courtesy of Slow Puncture for a not-so-lost bunch of cachers. Slow Puncture had put the call out to see who would like to accompany her today to the two caches in this area, and Wombles&Co, Orange Crew, Spinna76, CDAH55 and I all made the journey to join her.
After completing the other cache, we set off for this one. Easy enough most the way - we had done the hard part earlier I guess, and just had to work our way around the last part to GZ. Upon arrival tho we all began our search, with spinna76 and I getting one particular spot, but nothing appearing to give us the smilie. A little more searching and investigating of the clue and some more puzzling and searching again, and Orange Crew seemed to have found something, but was unable to access it from where he was. I headed around, and with some manoeuvring of things from Orange Crew and Spinna76 I managed to extract a rather sun weathered cache, which has quite the hole in it, and very wet contents. We all managed to make some form of a mark in the logbook, and Orange Crew donated a new bag and logsheet and a new inside container to tide the cache over for the time being until the CO or another cacher can bring up a replacement cache container.
Thanks for the cache The Lost Bunch.

I typed a big log but my flaky internet connection killed it. I can't be bothered typing it again. We found the cache relatively easily after Cooee. The container has a hole in it and several bugs and spiders living inside. However, the log is dry and clean. We found that access is probably best from the fire trail.

I met up with Venn Family x 1. We were going to do Gorilla, Earthcache and Plantman Geocaches at Mt Tibrogrogan but it had been raining earlier in the morning. So off we went, following the fire trail. I tried a couple of rock climbs, but the rocks were a bit wet and mossy. I ended up grabbing hold of gum trees growing out of rocks. We quickly found coee and then onto this cache. The mosquitoes were ferocious biting me through my clothes. For this walk best to wear long shirt and pants and don't forget the aeroguard. Once we got to the location it was a quick find. Gps co ords spot on. For this walk best to park the car on the road at s26 55 381 E152 56 806. There is a gate with a sign coee trail. It is also opposite a house with a terradactyl on the letterbox. Might be number 210 or 310. The gate is unlocked. There is also a sign saying national park, much easier this way. Lots of bush bashing required. Had a feeling of accomplishment at the end and two unloved caches.
Since I was already on top this little mountain, I thought I better at least come across for a look for this. Especially since I did not fancy the trip back down from the other end anyway.
I picked my way across the top sometimes seeing what could almost be called a path. Other times just pushing through. At one point on the way across I actually come across a small Cairn, not sure if Geocachers, or other visitors but at least I knew there had been someone else this way.
Soon enough I got close and a little look around a couple of ways soon had me in the right spot and the cache was spotted. I got my name in the log and soon had things back in place before heading for the edge on the other side hoping to find a somewhat easy way down. Things were really not to bad going to get to the bottom just a little rough in some parts.

Up at tibro to clean up some smilies. Came by the long way over the top of the gorilla with JD&Coke, Toozey & Seffnjarah. Our group split in two and Seffnjarah and I continued on to pick up the Cooee caches. Came in from the east which seemed to be rather uninviting when the treeline gave way to some rather prickly bushes. Gaps in the bushy growth opened up every now and then which made the terrain a little more penetrable but still not overly pleasant. Once at the top we headed in the general direction and found gz with little difficulty. Cache guardian is still in place and is adamant that he wont shift. Had to sign the log around him.
Thanks for the cache, Mr Eatmorchikin
Thanks for the cache, Mr Eatmorchikin
After completing the climb up Mt Tibrogargan this morning with JD&Coke, Toozey and Eatmorchin and completing another short climb at the base of the mountain, JD and Toozey departed for another engagement which left Eatmorchikin and myself to attempt this hill. A short debate about possible access points but it was quickly decided to follow the marked WP and head up the eastern side. In hindsight I would probably come from the west as the vegetation on the east was very thick and scratchy which made had work of the climb. Luckily we managed to find some open rocky areas in a couple of places to give us respite but they were few and far between. Once up the top it was not a great deal better with lantana replacing the other scratchy bushes. Found a couple of pink ribbon markers at one point but they seemed to stop just as suddenly as they appeared. Onwards to GZ I managed to locate the cache and handed it off to Eatmorchikin to sign. He soon confirmed that the 8 legged guardian is still in residence. which was rather an unpleasant revelation as he went to grab the logbook. Mr guardian had no intentions of leaving his place of abode so the log was signed, replaced and the cache put back, all the while with Mr Guardian remaining comfy in the container. It would seem he is waiting there to surprise the next finder as well. TFTC
A short bush bash across from Cooee, excellent views to Brisbane, cache found in a scary spot, badly cracked with a large 8 legged resident.
We decided to take a walk to this cache as we did not want to travel too far today as we went a long way yesterday.
We parked on Barr Road and made our way in. We headed up to a side track and up part of a hill on the track before heading up the mountain. Slowly we made our way up stopping for drinks and taking in the view. Geopartner was a little breathless and dizzy with the climb. After all the rain we have had the lantana is growing rampant and sometimes hard to get through.Soon we arrived at GZ and I had gone a little further and geopartner made the find.
The box is a little brittle and has a hole in the side but the log book is dry. I wish I had known I would have brought another.
We added our names and rehid.
TNLNSL TFTC Thanks The Lost Bunch All good with the find but the cache needs a replacement.

There is a real spiky jungle between Cooee and this if you don´t take a right path! I didn´t and my legs show that I came down a different route and this was a much easier, ending at S26 55.381 E152 56.806 at fire road. Which BTW have a sign that you shouldn´t be here because it´s dangerous
Thanks for the cache and for views!

Grabbed this one after I'd found Cooee.
Awesome spot. Great view.
The container is cracked with a hole in it, but the contents seemed ok and dry.

Today was the day to tackle Cooee! It was a nice cool and fine day so I set out as early as possible after the school run. There were about three cars in the car park but lots of signs notifying visitors that the summit walk to Tibro was closed. I wasn't contemplating Tibro today so just as well!
I had read previous logs and I thought that I might try to scale the northern slope of Cooee if possible because some of the other Glasshouse Mountains are slightly easier from the north. So I set off from the carpark and headed clockwise around the circuit track until I was almost between Cooee and Tibrogargan. The regrowth after the recent fire was very nice to see still covered with dew from the night before and I could make out an old track heading NE down towards the gully. I walked down here until I hit a very convenient fire trail running back towards the NW. It must have been very effective because Mt Cooee was completely untouched by the fire. I headed along the fire trail, now making a clockwise route around the bottom of Cooee. This did add a fair bit to the length of the walk but I thought it would be worth it to avoid the prickly woody vegetation.
Eventually I started heading east again and started to gain some elevation but I had to leave the relatively easy track now to head straight up the ridge towards Wild Views. It was not easy going because almost all of the wattle trees had been knocked over about a year ago and their dead branches were facing me as I grid to make my way up the ridge. Underfoot there were large boulders but at least the undergrowth was fairly sparse. It was a hard slog up the hill but it started to flatten out at about 70m from GZ.
The views are wonderful up here and I sat for a while to watch the trains down below and take a break. The cache was in a challenging location too! I will also confirm that the box has a cracked lid and a hole in the side and needs replacement. It is a 1 litre Systema if someone has one spare.
There are some quite significant little plants up here and please try not to trample them. They only grow here and on Tibrogargan. They are a native hop bush that has furry divided leaves. They have separate male and female plants which is why only some have seed pods.
Thanks for the great hide 'The Lost Bunch', I really enjoyed the challenge.

After finding Cooee! with the Meg#8 group we continued on to this cache. Following our leader through the bush and after a search the cache was finally found. Everyone signed the log after such a huge climbing effort for this and the previous cache. We had a well deserved rest and snack and enjoyed the views before the trip back down. With some slipping and sliding on the way it was good to get back down. Was really pleased to have achieved this mountain. Thanks for showing us this great place.

Having successfully retrieved Cooee!, we headed on through the spiky bushes to see what wild views could be seen from the top of this scratchy hill. Happily much less of an incline than what we'd become accustomed to on our pursuit of the previous cache, once we'd found our way around the almost impenetrable scrub to GZ, we were happy to sit and sign and enjoy the views. TFTC, The Lost Bunch. =^.^=
I continue my story from the trek up to the other cache not quite at the top of this mountain - http://coord.info/GLCJBF6P
Having rested a bit and watched the views from there, it was back on two feet, engage heartbeat and push on for the final ascent. i think the vegetation from there got a bit worse, but at least rock is always stable to walk along.
I for one was really feeling the heat on the trek up so when we finally got there it was a relief to stop once more, even though we had made a leisurely pace up. Again the logbook was passed around, milestones announced and we took a longer break here. What a serene spot to sit and stare at the world go past. TFTC for this extra smiley on the hill and congratulations for those milestones achieved on this cache

Found as part of the MEG8 team. It appears that this was the milestone cache of the day, and congratulations to Pprime on #2200 and Angela and Dave on their #300.
After slogging our way up "Petes Track" to get to the Cooee cache, we only had an easy stroll to get the rest of the way to this one. Once at the GZ rendezvous, everyone had a small break, and then we headed back. Going down was slow, as the terrain requires caution, but everyone got safely this day... and there were only a few stray rocks this day.
Thanks for the cache LostBunch.

With the MEG8 group, the path from Cooee was so much easier than the climb before and it almost seemed there was a path compared to the rocks and bush we had to push through!

So, what is MEG? Amongst a few 2013 GEOGoals I've set myself, one I have dubbed Mission Empty Glass (MEG for short). This involves tackling all caches across an area I've defined loosely as 'The Glasshouse Mountains'. Every multi, every mystery, every micro, every mountain and everything in between. This, the eighth group outing, was focussed around Mount Tibrowoocum and Mount Cooee, and north to the Landsborough township. After the traditional pre-start coffee - Fangsoki, Sweet_Bee, Dosshell, La Kedi, /dev/gc0c, Dahumbug, Mrs Parko, Angie minus Dave, Crew153, Captain Terror, Swellerfungus, Lady Sim and KJTJMJx2 started we hit Tibrowoocum, and then headed over here for our attack on the second mountain of the day.
Having parked at the base of Tibrogargan and trekked the side track to the turning point and up to Cooee cache, we turned our wearying bodies back up hill towards this one. There is no track. There is nothing really even track-like. Not even vaguely. Not as much up this time, more across, through, over and under, around. We worked our way slowly and surely at GZ, and then along the cliff edge to the hint spot.
MILESTONE CACHE! For a few of us actually. Congrats to Dahumbug on #200, Angela&Dave on #300, and Captain Terror for #4400. For me, #2200. Pretty cool.
And that ladies and gentlemen is the Mountain section of MEG complete. Every open Mountain conquered. Roll on MEG#9 and #10, the downhill run now.
Thanks for placing this cache, The Lost Bunch. Mobbed in good condition.

This one was a logical extension after grabbing cooee! just down the mountain. The path to it is pretty much non existent but a nice walk none the less....there was fair bit of brush to move but nothing a good hiking stick or machete could not handle..
After we made it to GZ we stopped a little for a bite to eat and admired the view discussed various milestones of people in the group and eyeballed the crazy climbers on the mountain next door.
After the log was signed it was time to head back down the mountain, stopping a couple of times on the way to wave good bye.
That was the end of the mountain part of MEG8 and now for some lunch a to a few more caches..

With a really crappy last few weeks of work, I have been looking forward to a weekend of caching as part of the MEG#8. With a bunch of fellow MEGgers we hit the road for a heap of caches on a glorious day.
After the Coooeeeeee we continued up and over. Again our fearless leader led the way, and after a few detours as the foliage became too much, we made it to GZ. It took a little while before someone checked the hint, and soon we knew where to look, only to find a Cheshire Cat (Fangsoki) beaming at us after taking a short cut direct to GZ. Ahh the benefit of having been here before!
A nice view and a rest before heading back.....with water running low, and a small barrage of falling rocks (strangely most of them aimed at captain Terror) we were glad to get back to the car in one piece.
Great place thanks.

After finding Cooee and enjoying a great view of Tibro, it was time to head up this mountain and see what Wild Views we could find
Being led by Pprime (P') we weaved our way through bushes, up rocks, over rocks, under scrub and up up up we went.
We finally got to GZ, and enjoyed a well earned rest and enjoyed the views before making our way back down.
The grass can be slippery at times, so I preferred the slippery slide method for a great part of my descent
My body was quite weary by the time we reached the bottom and sadly it was time for me to depart the MEG #8 group. Thanks The Lost Bunch, great cache indeed

Our 5th cache of the day on our MEG#8 event.
Grabbed Cooee cache first after a good climb up the rocks and kept on to grab this one also.
Our 300th cache!!
The view up here is wonderful. We camped out and had a bit of morning tea while we were here and enjoyed the views.
Called out a cooee to the people abseiling down the Gorilla on our return. Crazy people! Photo attached!
The trip down was a bit harder then the trip up and I did come a cropper on a loose stone and sat down on the bush floor scratching up the back of my leg. Thank goodness we'd made it down the rocks first!!
Thanks for bringing us up here and TFTC!

I was part of the MEG#8 group assaulting the mountains in the area. After finding Cooee and taking a rest we were surprised to find that the terrain was now reasonably gentle as long as the leaders took care of the vegetation before the rest of us followed.
It took a bit of searching before the cache was located but with 15 of us searching it was only a matter of time.
We then headed back the way we had come and off to find some easier caches around Landsborogh.

Up from Brisbane caching around the Glass House mountains with IolantheK, teamdfl, ruzzelz, and Brother Colin [^]
Made our way up through lots of scrub, lantana continuing on up from "Cooee" to the north side of Tibrogargan (no trail so to speak).
Spotted the cache right on the co-ords [^]
The cache is dry and in good condition [^]

After an early lunch near the Glasshouse lookout it was off to Cooee and some Wild Views.
Brother Colin, IolantheK, teamDFL, T-Tech and myself were out for a Glasshouse adventure day. Ever since this and the Cooee cache were placed I have wanted to complete it but seem to have not been in the position to round up a support crew. I have always been apprehensive in trying this and the nearby companion alone.
With many eyes at some stage I suspect we all managed to take the lead across from Cooee the original leader picked a blocked path. Even at the final approach the group was divided and some of us ended up skirting the cliff while others had a flat track.
BC was keen to straight line it back to the parking lot but the group consensus prevailed and we took the breadcrumb trail home instead.

Out and about on the Glasshouse Mountains for a crazy day with T-Tech, teamdfl, Brother Colin and ruzzelz After finding the nearby cache up here on Mt Cooee, we all headed across to look for this one. A few different paths were taken across the peak and T-Tech was the one who made the find. Now to find our way back down through the scrub. TFTC, The Lost Bunch.
Today there is a souvenir on offer for finding a cache.
Also P' has a MEG event happening. But a couple of us, Russelz, IolantheK, teamDFL, T-Tech and myself, have found the caches he is planning on going to today. So we decided to group up and tackle a couple of others.
This one and the next were on our 'must do' list.
After following the walking track around to the recommended way point we headed towards the mountain. The first bit was easy then it goes UP....and through spiky plants as well. We found the other cache first and then it was across the top to this one. Most of the way was not too bad as there was plenty of open spaces and we quickly reached GZ.
Now to get back down.
Thanks for the cache.

Out on a "rebel MEG" tour with IolantheK, T-Tech, Ruzzlez and Brother Colin. We had continued up form the other nearby cache. The group attacked GZ from a few different angles. T-Tech was the best located to retrieve the cache. Names added and it was time to find our way back to the car.
I don't know which way is moderate. We walked through bushes and over fallen trees. It was realy hard to get there. On the way back a saw snakes and I was realy happy to be back at the tourists track. Thanks for this jungle adventure
We had a great day in the park visiting Cookie Monster, Gorilla, Plantman Geocache # 24, Baby Gorilla and then thinking they where not very far away did Cooee and Wild Dog Views.
We parked at the suggested rock climbers car park On the way back to the car we thought we still had some energy after being up the Gorilla and Cooee did not look that high for far so how hard could it be. Oh boy this was hard going bush bashing as soon as we got into the scrub. We followed the wide maintenance trail from the suggested way point until we arrived near a paddock. At this point we had been going away from the cache but at 200m away and having gained a little height we hoped this would make the traverse a little easier. We are not sure it did or not but at least we missed most of the cliffs. Once at GZ we needed a rest and made a quick find. We completed the signing duties and re hid. Great views from this angle and you can really see the Gorilla. TFTC
Having got to Cooee and read this was just across the top and though well we must have done most of the hard work so it can't be that bad. Wrong again. We thought we picked up a track from Cooee but it was a low hieght animal track that petered in and out with plenty of branches and lines on top. On the bright side if you did fall it would catch you before you hit the ground. We ended up going around the side of the top as that where the GPSr had us until 50m out when it suddenly pointed left and up so off for another scramble to get up the small cliff. It took a bit to get to GZ as we had been around in a circle. We eventually made the find which was well covered up and signed the log before replacing the hide. We hoped to pick up a track on top as the way out but it was just more animal tracks with jungle on top. We had a nervous moment at one stage as we went through one area that smelt very piggy and something not small moved in the bushes. A feeling of oh I wish I had more than just the GPSr over came us. Thankfully we moved through this area with out incident and then had the stumble, bash, and slip down the hill. We certainly had no more energy. TFTC

After the marathon effort climbing up to Cooee (see log) .. this one was a 'walk in the park' . Well .. not really, but there were no more hair raising climbs up slippery rock faces . There was however, lots of lantana, and sections of impassable prickly bush along the route
I made my way slowly along the top, resting my weary legs from the climb and trying to pick the easiest path along the way . There were a few sections that caused me grief, but i just kept thinking of the journey up the mountain, and i quickly forgot about the troubles i was having here
It wasn't too long before i was close to GZ, and i made my way to where the arrow was indicating . OH NO … surely not again, your not going to make me go down there are you [?]. I stood and peered over the edge, wondering how the hell i was going to get down there, when something caught my eye … and it wasn't a prickly bush this time . I carefully inched towards a suspect looking area, and my suspicions were confirmed .... a cache [^]. As i gingerly squirmed my way towards the prize, my shin was stabbed by a sharp stick lying on the ground which opened me up a little, and i started bleeding like a stuck pig [B)]. I retrieved the cache and begun to peruse it's contents, before signing the log, and carefully replacing it back where i had found it. Everything was dry and in good condition
The return trip down was not without drama, and as i backtracked my way along the top of the mountain, all i could think of is 'how the hell am i gonna get off here' [?]. I most certainly was not going the way i came up , so i left my backtrack a little early, in the hope that i would find a more user friendly way down. I forced my way through a couple of different thick sections of prickly bush … only to be confronted with a sheer cliff face both times . I kept moving south, closer to where i had come up, and eventually found a user friendly lava flow that took me some of the way down . Soon enough though, i was faced with another drop off . I kept moving south through (yes … you guessed it) more prickly bush, before i found a steep section that i thought i could handle . I carefully picked a route down the slippery lava flow, before i was at a place that i recognised from the trip up [^]
It was a relatively smooth trip (except for the prickly bushes) for the rest of the way, as i followed the track i had left on the GPS'r, back to the Trachyte Circuit. Now i just had to make it back to the car [xx(]
Thanks for the adventure The Lost Bunch …. a trip i certainly wont forget in a hurry . TNLN TFTC

Found at 1134. Made it up to the lookout had a quick look around but could not find it at first sweep. There was a family of muggles up at the top so I waited there for a while taking photos until they left. I then made a better search and soon had it. TFTC.
Lokipagan and I had gotten "Cooee" - now it was this one's turn. Pagan and I alternated at "clearing a path" to get toward GZ. So much lantana and trees everywhere. At least the terrain on top wasn't as dicey as the "coming up" bit. We got to GZ and hunted around. Pagan found a likely area and I approached it from a different angle. The position I was in for the inspection of the area was less than holy - but I found the little rotter - hidden well away. It was in good condition. I was so glad to get these 2 caches!
As I said with the other cache, these 2 would have to be in Top 10 of my 2670 finds. I enjoyed the challenge immensely. I am glad we did not leave it any later in the day though - it was really dark by the time we got back to the car.
I am glad I did this with Lokipagan - I certainly wouldn't have been able to do it myself. I personally would have thought the terrain was 4.5 - but thats a personal opinion. TFTC The Lost Bunch - a top cache and enjoyed it thorougly

We managed to get up the hill (see log for cooee!!). We fought the foliage at the top of the hill for every inch we advanced. With the boys leading the way, we managed to get to GZ where there was some disagreement about our elevation. Luckily Pagan spotted something that matched the hint and after a more thorough search by Fangsoki, the cache revealed itself. By this stage we were all pretty stuffed but so very very happy! A wonderful climb and a wonderful pair of caches - even though our muscles, legs, skin, ankles etc will hate us for a few days. Left plenty of skin on all the bushes on the way up. Fell down a few times and rolled ankles a few times. But very worth it. Thanks The Lost Bunch
Found the cache and a magnificent view of a beautiful sunset. Thanks for bringing us here.

Did this one first, came in from the east, admired the awesome purple and yellow wildflowers along the power easement, managed to avoid most of the lantana. Nah, that sounds like it was all too easy... Did battle with the mountain, nearly talked myself out of finishing but then the GPSr said 99m and who can stop then! Cache guard is sturdy and growing well. Cache clean and dry. Thanks for the challenge, The Lost Bunch. Now on to Cooee.
Moved on from COOEE, with more bush bashing but on flat ground at least. First find for newbie Martin.

Sitting at the Cooee cache I could see the cache symbol for the Wild Views cache sitting on my GPS's screen. Laughing at me it was. "I dare you to come and get me" it was saying
After the climb up onto the summit, how much worse could it get ? Well it couldn't
Once through the really, really, really thick vegetation near the cliffs, the scrub opened up into just really thick vegetation. It was quite easy going strolling across the wild mountain top [^]
Arriving (finally) at GZ, I was able to marvel at the panoramic view across the bay
The view took my mind off the burning and stinging sensations on my arms and legs. I all but forgot about the sore eye where I had been poked by a wayward branch. Bushwalking bliss
But wait, there's more [:o]
After scratching around in the bush somemore looking for the cache, I couldn't find it. Then I thought about where the Cooee cache had been hidden. Seems The Lost Bunch have learnt about hiding caches from the evil twins
TFTC and the chance to make the climb doubly cache-while
PS: for a view of the Wild Mountain from above. Have a peek at the images I added to my log for Plantman Geocache#24

Wild Views – Bloody B***s – Oops this isn't a Konie and d.d.dudes cache! Went to the allocated co-ordinates for leaving the path for Cooee. Surveyed the mountain with the intent of doing Cooee first, picked a route up a NE ridge and on nearing the top of the mountain, decided Wild Views would be the easier cache to attempt first. The name of the cache is quite appropriate considering the wild terrain you are required to traverse to reach it. Certainly not something I would take young kids along for. This cache is certainly not a walk in the park. At least we can claim the *FTF*. TFTC
