After visiting Green Cape Lighthouse, we came back to the Princes Highway and continued a short distance south. All was quiet in the rest area and that made the search quite easy. Reasonably accurate coordinates and the hint led to a quick find. The cache and contents were in reasonable condition. Then the surprise. When we came to log this cache tonight, we found that it has been archived because "it is no longer there". Well, we are not sure where the advice came from, but the cache is certainly there and waiting for the next finder. It would be great to have this cache activated again as it is in a good location. Thanks kenco for the cache.

The NSW half of our interstate pair for today, and this time neither the GPSr nor my cache sense led me astray, so a quick find before we turned around to head south.
Thanks again, kenco.

Road trip!
leafotwind and I had meticulously planned a trip in the opposite direction to fill a few gaps on a variety of challenges, but with the weather forecast to be reminiscent of an Activities Week tour of all the wet holes in the southwest of the state when I was in high school, a mad scramble ensued to come up with a scheme to complement those goals towards the eastern border instead.
Crossing off a few of the Country Road Atlas maps, finding a March, 2001 placement and a whole lot of Earthcaches meant we got in to Mallacoota just before midnight.
We chased the Golden Dragon as far up the coast as we could on day two, visited soooo maaaany Earthcaches, but also discovered a passel of cool gadget caches in between. Well worth the trip just for those.
And now, the long journey home...

Another fairly old cache along this highway. After having found Border Bugs on the Victorian side of the border we drove up here to make the find on the NSW side. On this occasion it was nirgalagrin who made the find as he was the quicker of the two of us to GZ.
A road trip east instead of west! nirgalagrin and I had been planning a trip out over to Mt. Gambier but given the forecast of rain, rain and more rain all through the weekend we scrambled to replan the trip aiming for the other side of the state. As it happened we went a little further than just the border and explored the NSW south-eastern coast. Thanks to all the cache owners for placing and maintaining the caches found along the way.

Traveling up to Eden from Mallacoota we made a quick stop here purely to find this cache. It took a few minutes of hunting before I came up with the goods TFTC
A nice simple one on our way back home. The log book was slightly damp but should be ok. Also, the cache itself was a exposed So we covered it up with some leaf litter. TFTC
I was heading in the opposite direction but still managed to pull in here, make the quick find and head back out again. TFTC.
Found it with Crank1 on our way home from OZ Geo Muster Event after stayed at Bega and Canberra for a night each. Thanks for bringing us here and the cache.
Found it with pwala after we left Bega on way to home in Melbourne. Beautiful scenery country.
Thanks for the cache.
Thanks for the cache.
Left home this morning on my way to the Oz Geo Muster for Easter. Decided to do what any other cacher would do, and cache my way there. Today was a trip I have done many times as I travel the first leg of the journey to Eden, NSW. The difference is I am going solo, which means no family muggle members to whinge about how many times I stop.
This was find number 10 and the last for the day.
Arrived at GZ and placed my car between cache and muggle car. Tried to out wait them, but the clock was ticking and darkness would soon be here. Wanting to get to the caravan park before dark, I wandered in the direction and realised that unless they came this way, they would not see me which was great. Soon had the cache in hand and a quick return to the car soon saw me back on my journey.

Heading into NSW on a relaxing few days away sightseeing and caching, not trying big note ourselves on what caches we get or don’t get while here, but to enjoy each others company.
Thanks to the CO for the placement here.

On our way home from a great holiday and decided to pick this one up as we missed it on the way in. Easy find once the GPS settled (this took a while). Tftc

Lovely wildflowers here amid the burnt out stumps, which Muggle Hubby discovered as he was looking for the cache, whilst I was preparing our morning tea.
You nearly had him stumped until the compass settled.

Was worried that we may not find this one but we did. Hoping that all the burning is from a controlled burn off. Thanks for bringing us here and thanks for the cache.
STUMPED me, checked out a lot of stumps to no avail. Phone told me a number of times I was close, there has been a bush fire through here, not sure if that is why I couldn't find it.
We are hitchicking in the area and this morning was quiet... perfect for a quick cache !

This was a beautiful, sunny and hot day. I strolled over to ground zero and searched for a short time and found the container. The coords are right on the mark.
The cache is in good condition and the log paper is nice and dry. I took nothing, left nothing, and signed the log paper.
I carefully replaced the cache right back where we found it. Then, I headed towards the next cache - direction Sydney.....
*thanks to kenco for your cache*

Australia Day, ‘Straya Day, a day off work before my normal 2 day weekend called for a 3 day road trip. End of day one and I’m logging my finds from my motel room with some cold beers, true Aussie style? Dunno, I’m a Kiwi.
First trip to NSW, 8.5 hour drive to reach my motel in Eden, but got a good number of caches on the way.
My 12 cache today, my 470th cache in Australia and my 1554th cache total, my first cache in NSW!
A quick scramble down and and back to the car.
Grabbed a knot TB.
Thanks kenco

Since moving from New Zealand I have been enjoying the area, exploring and finding caches. I have got a nice streak going and hoping to let it run for as long as possible. This may or may not become easier now that I have found a job but I’m still currently staying with my brother (stinky tom) and his family which includes my nephew (stinky bob).
A big thanks goes out to all the cachers and cache owners without whom this lifestyle would not be possible.
The caches I’ve found in Australia so far have for the most part all been in great condition. Keep up the good work. Everyone likes finding a well maintained cache with a dry logbook.

Leaving Friday at midday, and finally landing back in bed Sunday night just before the stroke of midnight, this weekend was spent on an epic 2100km, 60 hour geocaching journey chasing a mega multi-cache. That's an average speed of 35kph - we were even speedy in our sleep!
This was our first cache on the journey, and where we slept on Friday night. Too bad it was a DNF! After looking for around 30 minutes, we decided we needed to get the show on the road, and so ended our search. Hope to be back some day and turn this into a smiley!

Today the coast went south. Pass Tilba Tilba, Bega, Wallagoot Lake, Merimbula and the Sapphire Coast to Victoria. There we got to the country point and drove back over many beautiful bays and landscapes again. On the way we could find the one or the other cache and thank all owners for laying and holding the containers.

Number 100 for me woohoo - now a triple figure cacher! Thanks for the cache. Like everyone else has said it's very lucky
Lucky for this cache it's in the right side of the burnt out area. Quick find on day 3 of our road trip.
We tried not to spend too long here as the smell from the amenities block was rather overpowering combined with the charred wood smell. This lucky cache is only inches away from the burnt out area. Thanks for the hide.
This cache has so far just survived by the skin of its teeth. Logging bulldozers have come so close to it. It may need slight relocating to prevent it disappearing. TFTC
Trees had overgrown so it was a little tricky to find but very fun, we left a torch
Our current visit to Australia had been in the planning for over a year with the very significant help and advice from friends who live in Melbourne. The original plan was for a 2 month visit, but as things progressed we just couldn't help extending our trip to the full 90 days allowed on our visas - after all it's a big country and so much to see and do, especially with our favourite pastimes being birding, hiking and of course geocaching! Our journey started with our arrival at Perth airport followed by a day cycling around Rottnest Island before travelling on to Adelaide where we met up with our friends. We then continued on to spend some time on Kangaroo Island, before heading to Melbourne via Goolwa, Strathalbyn, Coorong, Mount Gambier, Cape Bridgewater, the Grampians National Park, Port Campbell, Cape Otway and Lorne, cramming in as much as possible on route. The second leg of our journey was a fabulous 9 days in Tasmania. Having then returned to Melbourne we set off on the third leg of our journey, which is to Sydney via Wilson’s Promontory, Lakes Entrance, Mallacoota, Pambula Beach (where we are heading to at present), Thredbo, Canberra and Fitzroy Falls. After a visit to Sydney we will travel on to the Gold Coast, then after spending a few days in the nearby mountainous birding hotspots, followed by an overnight trip to Fraser Island, we will fly from Brisbane to Cairns, visiting yet more good birding sites. We will then drive up to Cape Tribulation before heading back south again to Port Douglas and a day out on the Great Barrier Reef. We then return to Cairns for the flight to Alice Springs, where we will hire a 4x4 camper and set off for a week on the circuit to and from Kings Canyon and Ayers Rock. We then fly to Darwin from where we will spend the last two weeks of our holiday making our way to Broome via Kakadu, Cooinda, Katherine Gorge, Kununarra, Lake Argyle, Emma Gorge, the Bungle Bungle’s and Fitzroy Crossing. Our last two nights in Australia will be spent in Broome before we fly back to Perth, from where we will connect with the flight all the way back home to Zimbabwe via South Africa. We already know we can't wait to return!
This one took a bit longer than it should have, but once the correct clue item was found so was the cache. Thanks so much for the cache on this cold and windy morning.

Having the geovan in tow we stopped in the rest area as we headed south and walked back to the north rest area. Luckily there was noone stopped this time and we made a quick find. TFTC
Got us well and truely stumped! So many places it could be hiding... visiting from Tassie
Picking up a few whilst out on our geo adventure. This was quite an easy find if we looked at the clue and the distance on the gps. I did find myself having a laugh at Mrs. kalianda09 looking for this cache considering when we pulled up it was 2m away, looking out the window i did see her disappear into the bush looking for this one. We eventually used the phone and found what we were looking for. Thanks kenco for another smiley
What a great spot to stop with geovan, but a muggle trucker was sitting in his truck near GZ. We made coffee and had morning tea but he was going nowhere. Had to leave without looking for it.
So many stumps, but we eventually found it! We replaced log bag, as existing one was torn. TFTC
# 10085. A travelling day for Robmc and me today. Moving to Eden for a few days before progressing further up the coast. Gathered a few caches along the way and some more around town once we had unpacked the car.
Despite the hint this one took a while as the GPSr decided each and every tree was a good hiding place. Narrowed it down eventually and my name is now in the log. Again, all was quiet here today with not a muggle in sight. That's the way I like it.
Thanks kenco

Took wrong road to scrubby creek first off but then got to the right location. TFTC, SL.
I have to repeat it all the time : what many beautiful areas along the NSW coast. Worth all the little " detours " and stops! Tftc.
Sadly on our way home from a few days stay in Eden, this was a cache I wanted to do as the hidden date is a square I need to fill in my hidden date grid. This and the other cache 20km or so down the road at Wallagaraugh both filled the square, I had planned to grab them on the way too Eden but I was asleep and Geo hubby took advantage of no stops that way!
So on the way hope today we decided we would just stop for one of them, this being the first I decided the one car parked in the bay was ok. Hubby pulled up and I jumped out, instantly the old lady sitting having a cupper ask me whatI was looking for. How did she know? I hadn't even taken two step out of the car at this stage, I just smiled and said " I'm playing a treasure hunt game" She just smiled and went back to drinking her coffee, I walked the 80m or so upto GZ and while I was waiting for my phone to stop bouncing around she had followed me up and startled me by saying have you found it yet? Two minutes later I was signing the log, I attempted to tell her about Geocaching then her husband arrived and proceeded to proudly tell me how he knows all about it as he has found 7 without even having the app or a GPS.

Found while on a scenic roadtrip from Melbourne to Canberra with CT_ZA.
After a much needed overnight rest stop here, we started the morning with a cache just 50m from the car. It was drive-by, or almost a sleep-by !
Thanks, kenco.

Didn't realised until we had pull up that this was on the Sydney bound side of the Highway.
A quick walk to find the cache and a quick walk back to the car.
