Afraid it's getting a bit hard not to step in the damn puddles at the moment with all the rain we've had here. Sort of in a run-off zone and, as a result, the paperwork keeps getting more and more soggy by the downpour. Time to go, I reckon! Thanks to all those who visited and I hope you now know a little more because of it. Cheers!!!

12.00pm
Found by Roma and Max.
We had no problems driving in here and parked on the cache side of the mechanical object partially blocking the track.
Today was the perfect climate to enjoy this delightful bush setting and we particularly appreciated the construction at the posted co-ordinates.
Proceeding on to GZ was the type of experience we most enjoy about geocaching.
Thanks bristlehound for another gem.
Romax.

Checked today and my fears were not realised. Cache is fine though the paperwork at WP1 is a bit damp but nothing I can't replace if need be. Have dried it off as best I could and returned it to its hidey hole. Back in business.

09-Sep-10
Water, mud and fallen trees have led to the track in to this cache being closed at the moment, following last weekend's wild weather. Until it reopens, to access WP1, park at the turn-off beside the old road and enjoy an easy 10 minute stroll to your objective.

06-Sep-10
Disabling this one for now, as it can't be readily accessed, the track in being closed because of flood damage. I suppose one could walk in however, if one was really desperate. Would not be surprised if the container at WP1 is surfing north on a wall of water itself at the moment though. Shall try checking again in a few days.

So true!! Plenty of puddles on the way but cache easy accessible. Had to roam around a bit at the second leg! No muggles!! Thanks!

We loved the walk and the history of the area and today the cache finding was not to difficult.

Found this morning on a day that reminds us that Winter is 2 days away.
Nice little multi to start the day, and though the conditions and the tree cover made zeroing in difficult,
both points were found quickly enough.
My thanks to Bristlehound for the story, and for placing the cache.

Puddles looked like being the order of the day today, with rain for the last 36 hours, so this one seemed quite apt to start the day. A nice stroll from WP1 to final co-ords and the cache was found after a brief search. TNLNSL. Thanks to bristlehound.

Found on a nice sunny afternoon introducing some friends to caching. Spent around 5 minutes searching for WP1, and after reading some interesting information we continued onwards to GZ, and after a brief search, we had the cache in hand. Very interesting area. No swaps today. Thanks bristlehound for the cache.

Found at 3.20pm with Mark & Deirdre (friends we are encouraging to try geocaching). What a fascinating area to wander through. It was the perfect day for this activity. TNLNSL. TFTC.

What a great afternoon we have had. This is our second find for the day. When you step out side your back door, it is amazing what you can find in your own back yard. We love the Creswick bush. So much to learn and find. A great experience for the whole family. Amazing Dam wall and dam floor. The second part of the cache was really interesting too. We cleaned out the Ant's nest from the second container. An experience in itself. Thanks again Bristlehound. Loving the experience and this part of my rehab program. TNLN

Interesting history to the area. Took us a little while to find the first cache, but well worth the effort.

1st find of the day and 1763rd total find at 11:39.

It's not often that we get to go caching in the middle of the week, but as we are both very fortunate to have the day off - - -. By good planning or design this cache was on our list.

Once at GZ it took a little while to work out what we were looking at. Thanks for the informative explanations.

Took: Nothing
Left: Nothing (Screwdriver wouldn't fit)
Thanks Bristlehound for the cache.

Found by Mary & David at 1555. A large tree across the track stopped us driving all the way to the end, but really didn't add much to our walk. An amazing structure at the first coordinates, unlike so many others we've seen in similar areas. The builders were undoubtedly very skilful, as it remains in such fine condition. At the second site, we only spotted one of the relics. Even so, it's much more interesting to see such relics here than at Sovereign Hill. Our thanks to Bristlehound once more.

Another one on a grand day out with Doheng. Fascinating spot this.
Mrs DagsandSandy grew up in Creswick and has never seen this place!
Thanks for bringing us out to it.

At Wpt1 I had difficulty with the GPS and ended up using the first part of the clue to find it. Once at GZ, I had no such trouble and the cache was easily found. I only saw one PM at GZ, so I don't know where the other one was. Thanks to Bristlehound for the cache and for showing me an area I would otherwise not have known about.

I really liked the structure at wp1. Well built, including a bracing section, and still standing. The wp2 coords were found easily enough and then lo and behold I was at gz! Still, an interesting cache with some good information about these workings that I never knew before, thanks Bristlehound.

What a wonderful spot. So full of history. We loved the short walk and what we found there. Took us back in history when this was a thriving place! TFTC

This was an interesting site. The wall seems to be in pretty good condition and it was a quite and pleasant day.

I think the cache could be improved by using larger containers, there are lots of places where they could be hidden. At least add a note about the container and how it's been hidden in the hints.

No swaps today.

Found by McAdies.
Another great spot in the bush. Another couple of photo opportunities of interesting historic relics. Karen found the first cache quickly and the second took a little longer, maybe because it has started raining.

Another really interesting location to explore. I parked not far from the first waypoint and noticed a campervan nearby. I thought perhaps Romax had upgraded and were in the area but I'm yet to find out Smile. I wandered about the area before grabbing the clue and heading off for the cache. It took some finding because the trees were playing havoc with me again, but all's well that ends well. I really liked this location, the history here is well worth the visit.

Thanks again,

R - B

Found with MrsFj1 at 12:00 PM.
I've been around most of the tracks in this area, but I'd never come across this structure before. An interesting place.

We were surprised that so few of the locals had come up this way to sample these two new caches. I guess after the FTF has gone they lose interest??
Anyway we drove within 50m of the first waypoint and were most impresed with the wall. There looked to be a million possiblities for a hide there but for the long term security of the structure we are glad you didn't hide it there.
It took a while to find the micro here and maybe a 200ml containr may not have gone astray but we got there in the end and then a short walk to the final which also has a good hide.
Fascinating area. Thanks Bristlehound for showing us this.

Find # 2408 and 3rd of the day at 10:37am. Accompanied by Feathertop on another cache cleanup day in and around Ballarat. I always enjoy caching in the bush, not sure about a micro in the bush although we found it ok, liked the hide at GZ. TNLN, Signed Log, Thanx Bristlehound....Big Grin

Gave this one our obligatory 24 hr FTF handicap, but as there were no takers, decided to come out and get the FTF ourselves.
Where are all the FTF hounds lately? We might have to come out of retirement to heat up the competition again Wink

These type of caches are the ones we love, a bit of history, something to explore along the way and a trip in the bush.

Never knew about this neck of the woods and was impressed with the items a the locations where Bristlehound brought us.

No exchanges made

Nice work Bristlehound!
