I am looking at hiding a cache nearby and this one appears to be missing.

Got the cord and to the park but not having local knowledge of coal mines names it was a dnf
Made our way to the final co-ordinates and think we were in the right place but couldn't find a cache container here. Did get to meet a local who brought out his photos and showed us many things about the town including the moving of the hotel. Also got to meet Hruntmaster who saw us looking and being cachers wandered over for a chat. Thanks.
Followed the clues and got to the last spot, but have no idea about the mining connection for the cache.
Found all coordinant clues but couldn't find geocache. Couldn't work out vegetation/mine clue
A little bit of history then a long look eventually saw us make the find. They should have taken heed of the advice from the original inhabitants. TFTC.
We didn't get the mine name clue but seemed obvious where it should be - but it wasn't....
Gotcha !!! After a PAF and reading earlier logs it was obvious that the cache was AWOL so we replaced it
Would be a shame to loose such a great cache. Enjoyed the history. A Fav. point from me. TFTC

Did the tour and the Maths ...read the clue and guessed where to look. But ne luck here. I'll PAF tonight and come back tomorrow.
[Blue]# 12348[/Blue] Found on our 2015 Winter escape trip to Qld.
Another perfect winter day for a drive from Sapphire to Clermont.
I also replaced a log sheet here as it was missing again.
Cheers from Wagga Wagga in the Riverina, NSW.
Thanks for the cache Team Beaufort,

We are currently staying in Sapphire and enjoying touring and caching around the area. Today we decided to check out Clermont travelling via Capella.
After working out the coordinates we headed to GZ nearby only to be thwarted by two sets of muggles sitting and enjoying their lunch by the lagoon.
We decided not to hunt in case the cache was revealed.
Thanks anyway Team Beaufort....it is amazing how the floods affected the area.[^]

I had attempted this cache once before, years ago. I had only just started geocaching and had taken my parents on a holiday to see some of outback Queensland. Then I was looking for the cache around lunch time, not wise as there were quite a few people having their break in the park. So I didn't search much.
Today there were no muggles, but also no cache. It looks like it had disappeared, the hint is pretty clear. I left a mint tin as replacement.

Today we travelled to Emerald using geocaching as a guide.
Enjoyed the stop over in Clermont and the interesting sites we visited.
Thanks to all cache owners for placing and maintaining these caches for our enjoyment.

Slowly heading towards Emerald, then back out to the coast for warmer weather.
As we were camping the night at Clemont, we decided to do some caching in the area.
Interesting but sad story about the town, with such a large loss of lives.
Made our way to GZ, where the cache was soon in hand.
Many thanks for placing this cache, Team Beaufort, for us and others to find.

Our 2nd trip to this location, back to where we originally made our search for this cache.
With the hint from a previous cacher we quickly located the hide.
Its great information that this cache provides.
Thanks for the hunt Team Beaufort

A bit hot for detecting this afternoon so I decided to get a cache or two. I have seen the old piano a few times but it is always interesting to read the fact again. A quick find once all the details had been found and it gave the dog a chance to shout at the ducks, and the ducks a chance to ignore the dog.

Tried this one on the 19th July but didn't have any luck so on our way home went back to square one and followed the clues and yahoo we found the cache safe and sound in good condition. TFTC
Yahhhhh back in town.....thought we would have another ponder along this beautiful spot ..did the ground work Sept last year ..NOW this time found with ease ...all good in there & dry ...TFTC
Thanks Quaser3671, appreciate the maintenance, have been past in July 2012 and it was there, apparently knocked off since, but ok again now, user maintenance helps everyone.
I had left the job I was on early to try and grab some Cache's in around Clermont. After seeing the large number of DNF's on this cache I drive right by. I have also had a look at the CO's Profile and they have not been on-line since Wednesday, 06 April 2011. That is almost a year and a half.
Could someone that is in the area and that has done this cache have a look into it.

In my planning on the trip I saw that this cache had not been found for quite some time and was more than likely missing; which is a shame as it is a good and interesting multi. Upon completing the multi it became apparent that it was definitely missing so I replaced the cache in the fork at waste height.
9416 kms travelled in 21 days, one awesome eclipse observed near Mt Carbine in Northern Queensland and 712 cache finds, including a small handle of FTF's.
This was a trip I'd been planning for over 12 months with the main reason being to observe the solar eclipse on the morning of the 14th of November. I had decided to drive to Palm Cove and back, where my penthouse accommodation was located, while the rest of the family flew up and back. I love the drive and the unknown adventures that lay ahead; and I even think the last time I did one this big may have been for the previous eclipse in Australia which occurred over SA.
Apart from the great experiences, awesome scenery, and the characters met, the other reason to drive was to also do some serious caching, with the plan to stop at some power trails along the way including the Fruit Run and A.S. series near Stanthorpe on the way up and the Mid North Coast Wander series, just out of Port Macquarie, on the way back.
I had five days to travel each way with ten days in between spent in Palm Cove holidaying with my family. My route up took me from Melbourne to Tocumwal and up to Glenn Innes, through Toowoomba, Rockhampton and the coast road to Cairns while my route back was a bit more erratic. Heading from Cairns to Townsville then via Charters Towers to Rockhampton. From here it was through the amazing mining region to Roma then across to Dalby down through Stanthorpe (again) to Armidale, Port Macquarie, Wagga Wagga, Tocumwal and then home - phew.
After spending the night at a mates place in Townsville I had a few hours to kill in the morning before having a business meeting with a customer in Townsville after lunch. Once that was done I was back on the road for trek back home south, and caching of course. I eventually made it to Comet where I stayed the night.
I arrived at the first waypoint just after dark and found the info I needed off the plaque then headed over the road to the tree and got the further required information, the plaques of which made for some interesting reading. I arrived at the final plaque and went 15 m to the left when looking at the plaque. Searched and found no cache about, so in the obvious spot I replaced the hide.

Got the clues on my last visit to town, arrived at GZ full of expectation but left with disappointment.
This ones AWOL
Got all th answers together & got to the destination ..lovely walk ...but no luck with this one
maybe it might need to be checked if its still there ..TFTC anyway & the gr8 walk ...

Solved all the clues and had a good idea of where it would be hidden. Unfortunately after some searching no geocache was found and it was time to move on
Looked for this cache on a couple of different days, but no luck.
There has ben a flood through here a couple of times maybe it has been washed away.
Has the CO checked this cache recently.

This was an interesting cache which we worked through to the end but no cache to be found. Considering it is nearly a year since the last find it has probably gone - a pity because it would have warranted a favourite point from us.
Tried this one last year but failed so had better luck this time.
But the log was a bit damp, maybe the place holds water when raining, as we had rain last week.
TFTC.

Well this was a nice end to a geocahing day in Clermont. I think my brother in law is hooked! Hopefully there will be more caches next time I am here to visit my sister.
I was first to sign the new log.
I was first to sign the new log.
Well I was getting worried that the cache had been muggled, Nearly didnt find it my self, then had trouble getting it out, but it was still in place, however a bit more snug than it was intended to be. The log however was just pulp. New container, hopefully a bit more watertight than the last one and a new log. Ready to find again
unfortunatly 15m to the left was no success for us. a huge search over an hour while we were flooded in. still no success
Found the first part of cache, but could not find the second part.
Was muggles around, but no matter where we looked we just couldnt find it.
Our calculations put us 15m to the right, tried both to no avail.
If we come this way again, will have to retry.

Got to GZ OK, but could not locate cache. Will come back and try again when in this location. Thanks for the interesting history lesson.
Grabbed the clues then, off for a quick early-morning find while the coast was clear. Some great local history here.

Another great Multi with lots of history and harassment by ducks, Minus was stoked with the final cache GZ

Took an hour of my time and probably saw a lot more of town than necessary if I had read the clues better. very interesting location. My parents met there during the war.
This one led us a merry dance but that was our fault fo not reading the clues correctly. Great spot and not all that hard to spot in the end.

Lunch at Clermont consisted of some sandwiches bought in town that I brought down here to munch on while I had look number two for this elusive micro. I found it very easily this time around and cannot believe I missed it last time. I looked in this exact spot! As usual in this location there was plenty of feathered company to help/hinder/poo on my shirt from above all of which were were on the eventuated. TFTC and very pleasing to cross a DNF off the list.
Called in recently to check but found it had gone. Unfortunately I didn't have any thing to place there so will have to temporarily disable the cache till I go through again in March.
all the peices fell into place nicely.
nice little tour and stroll.
Had more problems putting it back then we had finding it [D]
cheers

Nice tour of the town. A lot of history in this place. Neat little cache container. TFTC.
Found all the clues and took note of the hint so guessed at container before we even found it - Thanks for making us stop and see this park and read the history - would have missed it otherwise! Loved the feathery friends.

Bugger... The waypoints weren’t a problem but finding the prize was. I was in town to visit Clermont Coal Project where we will be doing installation work early next year and facing a long drive home I called it quits after 25 minutes or so of fruitless searching. I shall return.
Called in on the way past for a check to see that all was well. Everything Good.
With a day off work, I decided to go on a bit of a FTF odessy. It ended up bing a 917km round trip, over a 28 hr period. Final count was 5 FTF's, 3 other cache finds, and 1 DNF.
Ohhhh, dont ya hate it when you do a road trip to grab some caches, and then soon after leaving, a new cache pops up in the area. So it was after my trip out to Clermont a couple of months ago. The same thing in Bundy about a month ago, 5 new caches published the evening we returned home.
Anyhow, this cache made it onto the list this time.
Found at 1715 hrs. Find number 7 for the day. And onward as fast as I can, to get to Emerald before dark.
Cheers
