Last day in Australia after a long cruise from Tasmania to Darwin, waiting for the shuttle to the Airport; so we went for a last cache. Arriving at GZ we found a cacher already searching. 6 eyes will see more than two, so we joined, and a few instances later we had the ammo box in our Hands, but it was not easy to get it out of its hiding place! It was crammed full of all the things a geocache needs, but the logbook was rather full and should be replaced soon.

Regards to AlmostTheBests, thanks for letting me discover her TB on her car! Happy Caching!

Tftc, the first ammo box we really smiled at!

Was trying to be inconspicuous when alone came a couple who were geared up ready to help me hunt. Was quickly in hand with the help of my new friends from germany. Thanks a&b_b for your help - safe travels
TFTC love the container Smile

Well that week went quick. Had a great time in Darwin and would love to come back. Tried to find this one while we waited for the taxi to go to the airport. Finally got it after realising what I was actually looking for. Duh. SL TFTC gibbo003, good one.

Now visiting Darwin after the Red Centre Experience. Razz

The plan today was to head out for a full day of caching but alas as so often happens we ended up doing jobs this morning and eventually left home, after 10am.

Was a tough day with humidiity and heat, green ants but Mrs Felix was enjoying being out and about after the enforced stay recuperating from surgery. Still we struggled for the cooler part of the day.

Managed to find a few caches and DNF a few more. Surprised

I spend a few days in Darwin enjoying the summer temperature and the sun.
I also made some walks in the city and searched for some geocaches. This was one of the boxes I found.

Thanks to gibbo003 for hiding and maintaining this geocaches.

#7163 - 15:45; Day 22 of the Alice Mega Road Trip with Sol de lune, albida33 and fitzy_1965, so signing logs as A.L.F.S. This is our last day in Darwin before we pack up camp and head for home again, after attending the Red Centre Experience event in Alice Springs. Today we planned to do some more caching in and around Darwin on a warm (read hot) sunny day combined with a bit of sightseeing. A pretty reasonable day to wrap up this part of the trip with 43 finds, but another 7 DNFs which seem to play a bigger part in the game here in the tropics, or perhaps the heat plays up with our cache blindness a bit more? All caches we located were in good order, including this one. TFTC gibbo003 Smile

Alice trip 2017. Day 20. Today Sol de Lune, Luckyl10n, Fitzy_1965 and I spent our last day caching around Darwin near East point and the CBD taking advantage of a quiet Sunday. All in all it was a very successful day.

Thanks.

13623. Next find of Day 12 of the Red Centre Experience Roadtrip. In Darwin.

I flew into Alice Springs to meet up with my caching mates Sol de Lune, Albida33 and LuckyL10n (signing mostly as ALFS) to attend the Red Centre Experience and then venture up north to Darwin and then east into Qld before heading south for home - a three week caching trek.

Next stop for the day. Quick find at GZ. Signed the log, replaced the cache, and it was off to the next cache.

TNLN - TFTC !!

Day 3 of our (fitzy_1965, LuckyL10n, albida33 and myself) stay in Darwin. A good day out and about with fewer DNF's than yesterday.

The ones we found were a mixture of micro's and small and a lot were in interesting places. The trip out to the old pub on the Cox Peninsula was a bit of fun, but just a pity to see the old pub has gone!!!

Thanks for all the caches owners and the fun in grabbing them.

Found by Mary & David at 1355. We like the "bold" hides too. Have seen one or two containers like this before, so knew what we were looking for straight away. Our thanks to gibbo003.

11-Apr-17
Headed out for some more Darwin "fun" this afternoon. Horrendous weather became cyclone watch weather.....miserable caching for me. I persisted for a few hours until I could stand it no more. Thanks for the hide.

It is there...

Thank you for the Cache hide. Signed the Log.

Finally we found it. It has a few years since we first tried. We're obviously not good enough all the time. I think IT needs new logbook or at least a plastic bag. Anyway, its a good cache! TFTC

15-Aug-16
At last we found it on a Monday afternoon and not to many muggles around. Think it's 3 years ago we tried first time and I think this is our fifth time looking, but we never gave up. So pleased that we didn't. Found it with paalr. A very nice cache and good hide. TFTC

Found this nice cache during a visit in Darwin...
TFTC! really nice one!

30-Jul-16
Quite a few muggles walking past so I had to call it quits. I'll try again another time ever:)

16-Jul-16
I searched until I turned and saw a group of people staring at me. Then I called this a DNF.

15-Jul-16
Found it walking across center of Darwin.

12-Jul-16
Have looked for this one before, so didn't have high hopes. Walked straight up to it! Thanks.

I had some time to spend in Darwin while waiting for a flight out so some caching was in order. Cute container, not quite what I expected. TFTC.

Am staying at a local backpackers for around three months for work & decided today would be a good day to have a wander & grab a few caches Smile
One of my muggle coworkers spotted me heading out & requested to join in, to which I said "Uhh, sure!" Razz

Had a good hunt for this one and couldn't seem to spot it... Most likely just a clever hide that my eyes couldn't find today! May try again before I leave Smile

Have two weeks on the top end for work. Spare 5 minutes on arrival, took 15 to locate this one.

Great hide. Thanks.

Yay! Second attempt - great hide!

01-Feb-16
Tried, but did not find!

Team Omam from the Netherlands has only one aunt left. And as she will have her 100th birthday early February, we decided to join the birthday party. But …., she lives in Sydney Australia! An excellent opportunity for us to explore this continent once again and find Geocaches along the way. We will do a 3.5 weeks trip! At places where we will stay for a few days (Melbourne, Canberra, Sydney and Darwin), we will organize Meet and Greet events. We will try to find mainly caches with high favorite points, caches from 2000 and 2001, earth caches, webcam caches, virtuals and letter box hybrids.

08-Dec-15
Found late in the evening on the second attempt after I was muggled out during my morning walk. Many thanks gibbo003

07-Dec-15
No luck today

04-Dec-15
Took me two attempts and a very long search to find it. Tinyiest box I ever seen Smile great hide, thanks!

12-Nov-15
We flew over 20500 kilometers to get to New Zealand. [^] First we drove through south island and then the north island to Auckland. Altogether over 3000 kilometers by car. After that we flew to Sydney and started our magnificient three weeks journey in Australia. We flew from Sydney to Ayers Rock and visited Uluru, Kata Tjuta and Kings Canyon towards Alice Springs. There we flew to Darwin for at visit Kakadu and Litchfield National Parks. The rest of our time in Australia we stayed in Cairns and enjoyed all the time we were here in this country. Altogether 11 flights in this tour from home and back home again. Smile[^]

We tried to search this a bit earlier today, but just here were two police cars and they were catching some one. So we came here again in the evening, when the area was dark - and deserted. So this became more difficult, but fortunately we had our flashlights with us, so we found this interesting cache however. Thanks for the cache and very many greetings from Finland. Big Grin

Good location, found on way to work

A Saturday afternoon is a good time. Not too any muggles around. Geo husband was successful today. Last person must have been heavy handed when returning cause it took a bit to get out. TFTC gibbo003

06-Sep-15
Today we concentrated our caching around the Darwin CBD and surrounds. A great day finding a variety of hides and some interesting places that caches let us to. With a ziz zag approach we managed to find most of these on our list. This was one of them. Due to some cache blindness we finally found this little sucker.

Thanks for placing and maintaining this cache for our enjoyment.

08-Aug-15
Thanks. Logbook is full.

19-Jul-15
Buoyed with the confidence that this had recently been found I approached this one again on a quiet Sunday afternoon with not many muggles around. My plan worked and I was able to change this to a smiley.... it's taken a while Smile TFTC

Hard to find especially during the heat of the day. Great camo. Don't go poking hands around tho as glass and sharps in area.

2 week holiday in the nt cross caching trip with geoparents who have come from germany for a visit.
While the geoparents were still recuperating from a long flight, we set off for a bit of night caching. Luckily not many muggles around. GeoP made a quick find after reverting to the hint. What a damn sneaky hide because it blends in so perfectlu with its surroundings. We have learned to be suspicious about everything in our surrounding as geocachers otherwise we would have left with our tail between our legs

15-Jun-15
No luck bananas.
We had used the landscape to such an advantage that we had an ariel view on this place simular to a map.
But it didn't help.
But what is threatened to be a high muggle area has only had two previous attempts to find this fantastic treasure.
That is hard to believe.
In 7 months.
It just shows how lazy people are.
No feedback.
And for the bananas.
Today.
No luck.
Will go onto watch list.

Last find is in November. We didn't come across it either..

Probably my last find in Darwin for this trip. Determination paid off. Great little container., wonderful hiding spot.

24-Nov-14
Found at last! This one has confounded me for a while. Had been so close a few times & couldn't seem to find the hiding spot. Ingenious hide, worth the wait. TFTC

Found cause of smell, as mentioned by last log, and luckily didn't tread in it!
Alas, couldn't find cache and smell eventually put us off from continuing our search!

2:nd try today with no luck, smells lite o toilette close to the corner, maybe I locked on the wrong side

With a swinging GPSr it took some getting to GZ but once there the coords were spot on and Mrs SKI made a quick find.
We are dodging from shade to shade as it is the middle of the day and quite hot for us Victorians.

This was found on a great geocaching tour together with Landlockedsailors Smile

We had made a list of caches that we wanted to find and then we found some extra as we came along. It was a really good day with some good finds!

This was one of the not planned ones, but a good and quick one. We were going to the Post Office, so we came right by. A cute little container [^]

Thanks a lot for the cache SmileSmile

Almost a dnf here, but geo-hubby found after going back over what he thought he had already checked thoroughly.

12-Oct-13
A bold hide indeed, found with Richlink after re examining a place previously searched.

Grabbed this cache after going to the movies close by.
Loved the cache container, will have to find some of these to place down our way.

Yay finally found a cache in Darwin. Leaving tomorrow do just in time. Cute cache. Thanx

12-Sep-13
Rejuvenated from an ice cream we set off to find another cache in this unfamiliar heat and humidity....Henderbugs made the find on this one. Cheers from Canada. TFTC

12-Sep-13
Cute container! Yes, this place wasn't so pleasant, but no need to sift through anything. TFTC

06-Sep-13
Not many muggles around but wearing just shorts, and not having gloves, I didn't feel at all comfortable scrounging around amongst the used syringes, empty wine casks, and fresh human excrement. Sorry - not my idea of a pleasant geocache location. Tried the hint to no avail, so decided to go ASAP.

01-Sep-13
I really liked this one...sneaked it in on a late Sunday afternoon. tftc

20-Aug-13
Spending time in Darwin to do some caching, relaxing and maybe some fishing.
Cache was a great hide in a public area.
Had to wait for a few muggles to disperse before retrieving.
Thanks for the cache, gibbo003.

12-Aug-13
Yeah. We despaired for this one but then we noticed lots of cachers had found it so off we went. After waiting for muggles to move on in we went for the search . We searched for some time as our gps had us looking every where but at gz and then Eureka we found it. Tftc.

11-Aug-13
Our last day in your lovely city, today we ventured back into the city to find caches we needed to search for again & others we had not attempted.
This was one we had tried before, after PAF we widened our search & came up with a find.
Thanks Gibbo003

09-Aug-13
TFTC.
This was my second attempt and as there were no muggles anywhere to be seen I was able to carefully examine GZ.
As per previous log please be careful.
At one point I got down on my hands and knees and then spotted a used syringe with needle intact.
Cheers.

28-Jul-13
Found the cache after a few minutes but then the trick was to extract it. I didn't have our usual caching bag with me so had to resort to the contents of the one I had with me: 1 x wallet, 1 x pen, 1 x carabina and 2 x museli bars. None of these was particularly useful so I had to improvise with what I found in the area. After about 20 minutes of work which included dodging several muggles the cache was in hand.

Nice cache, sneaky hide.

TNLN TFTC

A note for future cachers; take care as there were some bottles and a syringe on the ground at the GZ.

25-Jul-13
Thank goodness! I found it. It IS a wee little cute thing, and what a sneaky hide! TFTC

Very nice container, very nicely hidden! Took us quite a while on a late Saturday arvo while the area was thankfully muggle free Smile TFTC - favourite point for being so cute and tricky!

27-Jun-13
Had a good look around tonight to no avail. Must be a very small ammo tin!
Will be back in daylight.

26-Jun-13
Wauw what a cute thing. Yep it is still there. Searching for 10 min and bibabeloeba got it. Luckily there were not many mugglers around. We were curious about all the no finds and while waiting for our taxi to the airport we like to give it a try (with not much hope), just need the correct tool to find it. Cheers and many tftc.

26-Jun-13
Yay. I found it. We were triggered by the DNFs. Curious. We went to GZ and after a few minutes there it was. I also added a new sheet of paper for following cachers now knowing it is still there!!

24-Apr-13
I wonder whether someone stole your cute little ammo box? Someone stole one of mine in Perth. Either way, couldn't find this cache despite finding some great little hiding holes in the head high horizontals on the fence.

14-Apr-13
Late Sunday afternoon and not a muggle on sight at GZ, but no sign of the cache either !

12-Apr-13
Gave it a brief search but based on other logs I wasn't thinking I'd find it

28-Jan-13
Searched for quite a while here with nil success. All I can do is add my DNF to the others. CO might have to check this one.

21-Jan-13
We searched for ages but with no success. Hope it was just us cache blind and that it hasn't been muggled. Sad

15-Jan-13
2 checks now & no sign of the little ammo tin

13-Jan-13
Looked for ages, both sides, even dug through debris on ground, no luck!
