As we approached GZ we noticed a group of utes in the middle of the logged pine forest. No trees to speak of, have attached a photo. Probably needs archiving, especially if you no longer live in the area. Thanks for giving us a drive around the area however.
Hi all, I no longer live around the area of this cache, if any of you live close enough to provide maintenance I would be grateful.
needs a new box this one has a hole in it. got our names on the log just but was a great day for a walk
Found while cleaning up the area of a few caches that we had yet to find. This one is in desperate need of maintenance, the lid has a gaping hole in the top, and the container when we picked it up was completely full of water. Log book has also been satched, so we couldn't sign the log.
Thanks anyway doobie doo3 for bringing us here.

The pines really do make crossing the ground from the road to the cache pretty tough I had fun driving around in this mini forest, all the roads were empty and I saw a fair few kangaroos running away from the sound of my noisy car. I got a park outside someone's house, walked in and found the cache pretty much out in the open. It makes sense as it sounds like the Dave Grohl Patrohl did a bit of a cache rescue job a few weeks earlier.
Got to GZ and found the cache out in the open and damaged. Don't think it was mugglers...more likely it got caught up in the logging of trees in the vicinity. Container, particularly the lid is damaged and will need to be replaced. We had nothing on us to help with this problem. All the contents appeared to be in place although some items were crushed.
Cache was placed where we believe GZ is and another plastic item we found lying around has been placed on top to try and stop water getting in.
This was our last find for the day and my favourite. Beautiful area!

Bit of a roundabout route to this one, mainly due to my navigation.
Pine forest not my favourite walking territory so i fully agree with the cache name!

Did a lap & ended up parking where we were going to in the first place. A nice area. Loved the effort gone into making the TeePee- someone had fun!
Cache had been found by muggles (who were staying at the accomodation place) as they sat & admired the view, and they had kindly replaced it after logging their find.
Took: Fire Truck
Left: Turtle & Ladybug as they will like it here
TFTC!

Someone had fun trying to build a teepee near here. A fair bit of effort gathering all the branches and logs they used.
We quickly found the cache and took a few moments to admire the surroundings.
At least the poor old cacherolla didn't complain about the drive here..

After getting twenty six smiley faces in Ballarat last weekend and attending the very successful event it was back again to first of all to pass the 1000 mark and add another forty odd caches to the list.
Found our way into this cache and a short walk to GZ through some very wet dead pines.Took a little while to find this elusive cache as there are so many hiding places. Lovely dam close by with lots of Wallabies bounding out of our approach.
Thanks doobie doo3 for showing us this peaceful location.
Found while on a caching day with Bushfire . gps jumped around a bit but still was found - thanks Doobie Doo
A caching day out with sully1. A short stroll saw the cache found and logged quickly. TFTC
A nice short stroll and the cache was in hand quickly, logged and returned with no swaps being made today. On a days caching with Micaparamedic. Many Thanks to doobie doo3
We had a tricky time finding the correct road in to find this cache - after three dead end tracks we finally were on the right track.
We parked and had a very crunchy walk in to GZ where Geomum spotted the cache straight away.
Took 3 hatching beans and left candle, ball and 10c.
Thanks for the cache.

After that trek all the way in we saw broken branches everywhere around GZ, and then we searched for ages in the rain looking for this one and still came out with a DNF.
Ive spent alot of time exploring that area in the past.
And now I found a cache there! [:p]
Took love heart slinky, left small bear with red ribbon.
Thanks for the Cache.
It's about time i hide one myself.

This was cache # 11 on a day out caching round Ballarat with Biggles Bear. Under the canopy, our GPS's led us around a bit, and it was BB #2 without the GPS that found it. On the way out, the sidewall of one of my tyres was ripped open - not quite sure how that happened. Anyway, thanks to doobie doo3 for the cache.

Nice on Doobie Doo3, nice remote spot- like a pine needle in a haystack. Cheers TNLN
Finally got out there!
I found it, as opposed to Highrod always having good cache eyes.
Thanks for the cache, and the frog that was on it!

it's my dream to have a cottage by a lake surrounded by pine trees...and a fireproof bunker. found this without too many worries.
We found our 4th Doobie Doo 3 cache at 1:40pm as the 17th of 40 on our Ballaratatattat Tour V in company of Backpaqer. Backpaqer guided us through the maze from the south. A pretty little spot by the dam. Our second 'teepee' find of the day. Thanks for the cache from D B-A.
Found the cache today at 2.00pm with beanie Walked to the cache through the pine forest and located the cache An easy find.
TNLN Thanks doobie doo3 for the cache

What a pretty spot. Easily found when looked at GZ. Took rubber duck, left pen. Second of five caches for day. TFTC
The immediate surrounds are pleasant, but there is always something very barren about pine forests! Nice hide. TFTC
2nd of 3 for the late "Lets give Mum a Break" arvo!
Nice and easy find AFTER I found a place to leave the 2WD!!
I love these pine forests (besides the huntsman's), the lake looked like a grassy clearing!! It was only when I threw a rock into it, that you could see that it was algie growing on the surface!!
TNLNSL. Find # 469. 5.15pm.
Thanks

First find for the year. The GPS was spot on, once I had found it but, despite finding plenty of satelites, gave me the run around for a while beforehand. I left it on a stump to settle and checked around without it and came up trumps almost immediately. What a pretty little pond! I wonder what will happen to it when the pines get harvested? Some quite nice properties along Lockyers Road also. No swaps made but released my first TB, Spikey, the Echidna to start 2009. Many thanks for the cache.
As the description said, the nearest road is not listed in TomTom, which is odd because off the pine plantation tracks seem to be. But it didn't take too long to find. We nearly cleaned up a kangaroo at one point. He must have brushed the front of the car. Not that we were going all that fast, but it was still a surprise when he leapt out of the bush.
A pleasant walk in from the road to a delighltfull little waterhole. There were frogs going bonk bonk, and parrots flying in and out of the trees.
Cache was soon in hand. No swaps today.

I spent several minutes looking fruitlessly for this one. As others have done I put the gps down, and had it almost immediately. You just have to look! Thanks Doobie doo 3
Found today, and caught red handed by a local walking her dogs. I thought she was a fellow cacher, but she had no idea what I was talking about. My credibilty was in need of reinforcing as I was a grown man walking through the bush with a toyduck in one hand and a gps in the other. (I could have said I had come to play in the dam with my duck I suppose) After a quick explanation about caching she said "ok show me how its done". The cache seemed elusive and I must have looked like a man possessed kicking each stump for a hint. She gave up on me and headed off just as I uncovered the cache so she returned to see what my searching had resulted in. Hopefully the next cacher caught will be not thought of with suchpeculiarity. In toy duck, out mighty bean SL TFTC
Found by Mary & David at 1400. It was a careful walk through the fallen trunks and branches for us. GZ turned out to be a lovely spot in the middle of it all. Quite unexpected. Our thanks to doobie doo3.
A return visit to this site, the site of my last flat tyre was more sucessful today. After a short cross country scramble, I startled some ducks on the dam, who startled me. The GPS was more of a hinderance than a help as it did laps. Like the previous finder I turned it off and used the look and feel technique. After a good half hour of searching the cache was found, in a spot that i'd already checked.
Good to get this, my closest cache, off the list and claim my 350th find.

Felt like a bit of a drunken walk to GZ dodging all the fallen trees, but the scene at the clearing was really nice.
GPS was a little erratic, so put it away and did some old fashioned searching.
The last finders did a terrific job of hiding it, the covering materials had me fooled when I walked past it a couple of times before I found it.

Nice spot Doobie Doo3. Parked off the road away from the house a bit and then strolled to the dam. It looks a little green at the moment but the cache was found after a little search as my GPSr had it looking 17m away.

The last cache in the big Ballarat clean up day with Oenze. Visited lots of interesting spots and this waa a good finale with a short forest walk in the fading light.
Nice and easy find by the algae filled dam.
Thanks Doobie Doo3

Find # 2428 and 23rd of the day at 4:42pm. Accompanied by Feathertop on another cache cleanup day in and around Ballarat. Nice walk to GZ, I love the smell of the freshly cut pine. TNLN, Signed Log, Thanx Doobie Doo3....
Quick look today but the light was fading and my time was spent changing a flat tyre !. Will have to have another go later.
Found in the company of Mrs FJ1. FTF. Signed and swaps as logged. TFTC Doobie Doo3.
