05-Oct-24
The original plan was to head to the Argadells north of Port Augusta but the logistics simply didnt work out for us.So its Plan B, the Riverland So here we are, The 3 Stooges, WayneAPN (or as we call him That Numbers Guy), weredunn4 ( Mr Adventure) and myself are hitting the Riverland for some targeted high T caches, plus many many others along the way.Suffice to say, these are always great trips away with heaps of banter, dad jokes, tons of crap talk, but best of all, the camaraderieAll caches found and stamped. Any caches needing maintenance, we did our best to restore them to good health whether that be an additional log or new container. Thanks to all the COs for the caches we found this weekend, without you we dont have this game TFTC

The 3 Stooges are at it again. Out on the long weekend hunting caches. We wanted to head north for some high T caches that required a 4WD, but it didn't quite work out, so an alternative plan was hatched. The Riverland.Aimed for some High Terrain caches and caches that have been unloved for some time, years in fact, and with very few finders. Some were quite tricky to solve and took a bit of head scratching and a few other body parts.Plus, some others of interest along the way.Always great trips away with heaps of banter, dad jokes, tons of crap talk, but best of all, the camaraderie, and home made cake. All caches found and stamped. If some caches required maintenance, this was done. Thanks to all the COs for hiding and publishing these caches. Made for an adventurous weekendTFTC SL

Find # 15784Been a while since I've been out solo for a long trip. But things change over time. And I'm living the past.So with some time off work, I've jumped the border wall to chase down some long trails in South Aussie... don't know how many I'll get. But I've got quite a few downloaded. I do have a short hit list ( of 2) caches to help with a challenge. All others are just for the Adventure and countryside views. Armed with all the necessary TOTT from tweezers and magnet grab to 6m ladder and 8m fishing pole. I believe I'm prepared for all that I'll come across. (Just had to leave the Kayak at home )Day 5. After a cold night at the Maggea Oval.. I was off on another days hunting. But decided to turn things around as I started in Loxton (after getting supplies) and tackle the trail backwards from original plan. TFTC FLIPPER&CO

We are in Lameroo for the annual JLWE event which is the Lameroos Ludicrous Legwarmer event this year with an 80s theme.Out and about with Ronice88, Riddell and gregandjudy to collect this series of caches which are quite a way from home. We are signing as Vic Bandits todaySorry for the generic logs this group of caches.

Having a blast with weirdobiker, Riddells and gregandjudy AKA VIC BANDITS to save space. And exploring our vast country. Really enjoying the far away horizons and this flat country that is so different to home base at higher altitudes. Im on a multi mission having headed west to the JLW event in Lameroo via Curyo so here I am chipping away at the mad 20 caches in each LGA challenge plus lots more. TFTC and the fun.

One of five caches at the far end of the Karoonda Highway picked at random as I make my way back towards Murray Bridge. Quite a warm day foe early spring, and so many stumpies seen crossing the road, sadly many of them unsuccessfully. No snakes though. The dog next door, not on a leash, was making me nervous here. Thanks for the cache FLIPPER&CO.

28-Aug-23
Old do upper across paddock. Like the bank of currajong trees.
We discovered this series before we left WA Perth. So planned trip around it. Hoping we can finish before we have to head back home. Great series thank you everyone. Varied caches and good sizes great for a bush run series.

20-Apr-23
Day 15 of our loop through Vic and SA then home.

Today we are on the move from Tailem Bend to Loxton. fitzy_1965, albida33 & I headed out early to get some of the Wandering Heroes before we had to leave the caravan park.

Our aim was to collect anything of interest along the way before we set up camp at Loxton. We stopped at Karoonda, Borrika & Alawoona. Signed as MAF or FAM to save room.

All caches were found quickly and easily unless otherwise mentioned.

31,339. Found with minniek and albida33 (signing either as FAM or MAF to save room and just for fun) during another great day of caching in South Australia).

Rutherglen Mega and South Australia Trip Day 15. Today we headed out early to grab some more of the Wandering Heroes series before checking out of the camp ground and heading up to Loxton for the next part of our caching holiday. It was yet another great fun day of caching. This was the next find of the day, and a quick find once at GZ. Signed, replaced, and then we headed off to the next one on the list.

Thanks FLIPPER&CO !!

Out on another JAMS day with allister w, mogni, sir_spectre and tallbikestan targeting the rest of the Wandering Heroes that we didn't finish last time we were out this way. We started off in Murray Bridge then stopped off at the Happy Armpit series before heading to Sandalwood where we left off previously. [^] After finishing the Wandering Heroes and some others that we went past we zig zagged back to Tailem Bend finding some random caches in random locations which all added to the fun of the day. It was pretty hot and the car air conditioner got a good workout, but that didn't stop us even though I was quite tired by the end of the day. Big Grin

Another one we found while hunting Wandering Heroes. Big Grin

Thanks for the cache FLIPPER&CO. Smile

12-Dec-21
Today the JAMS crew was out and about to complete the Wandering Heroes series. JJ52, mogni, Sir Spectre, tallbikestan and I met at the crack of dawn on a predicted hot day. We worked great as a team to find the remaining caches of the series as well as a few caches before it and a few after it. I was mainly the driver today and I filled up the car at Murray Bridge before the first find and from then on I didn't turn the car of until we had done finding and headed back to Tailem Bend, when we got to Tailem Bend and had 4kms of fuel left which added a adrenaline rush to the day. Thanks to all the CO's and the cachers that are a reason for another find. The JAMS crew hid a JAMS cache today to add to the series.

12-Dec-21
Out with the JAMS crew for our monthly caching run. This run was with JJ52, Allister w, Mogni and sir_spectre plus Tallbikestan but minus Michells&hound. All logs today where stamped as mystery randoms. Todays target was to do the armpit series then finish the Wandering Heroes trail where we left it uncompleted at sandal wood last time and then slowly cache the back roads back to Karoonda. The wandering heroes trail was in a poorer state then last time and that is saying some thing. This time out of 104 caches on the trail including a few stray trads beside the freeway we replaced 18 caches that where found broken/cracked but surprisingly almost al the logbooks where saved and less then a hand full of logbooks on this section were full and needed replacing. It was nice to see some of the caches still themed after all this years. Also good to see a few large caches out here. A good day out even if it was 35 degrees. Some time along the Wandering Heroes i got my 15,000 find as well.

Travelled up to NW Victoria with feathertop to spend the next 3 days caching in the area. She proved an excellent driver and companion while I was the passenger. We tackled as many of this series as we could before arriving in Loxton to prepare for our big day tackling the On Your Bike series.
All the caches were found successfully and in good condition.
Thanks to all the cache owners.

19-Jul-19
Today we formed a small team to tackle a section of the Wandering Heroes series between Loxton and Karoonda. It was an early morning start today, and the four of us, FeatherWaite, GoodLook, @gridge98, and I, agreed to stamp the caches with a 'thumbs up' emoji stamp to save room in logs and for our ease. It wasn't a bad day to tackle this series, with blue skies and the sun out allowing us to run in/out and look for caches. Some may argue it was too good of a day to be stuck inside a car for half the time. There was a bit of banter in order to take our minds off the significant number of cache finds for the day.

This cache was collected and stamped as a byproduct whilst driving the Wandering Heroes series. An interesting historic sight, with the cache not taking long to find, and the container and contents in good shape, cheers Flipper&Co.

19-Jul-19
Out for the day with Davidwazza, GoodLook and featherwaite to complete the wandering heroes caches north of karoonda. All the caches are in good condition as we replaced the ones that were broken and needed replacing. All the caches were stamped with a thumbs up () stamp for convenience. Was great to chat about the different heroes along the trail as we went. Thanks to all the COs for their placements

19-Jul-19
A nice cache to find whilst in the area completing Wandering Heroes caches.

Today I was out with the boys to finish off what gridge98 and I had started many months ago; joining us was FeatherWaite and DavidWazza. All of the caches were stamped with an emoji thumbs up stamp to save room in logs and for our ease.

We spoke to CPWanderer before venturing out and took a supply of various sized containers with us to replace those that were cracked/broken/missing. The section from Karoonda to Loxton should be fine for some time now

It was a sunny and relatively warm day - a boost to our health and wellbeing. I packed healthy lunches and snacks for all to enjoy and caching we went. We had a great time and shared lots of laughter.

Thanks to FLIPPER&CO! [^]

Found with Davidwazza, GoodLook and gridge98 on a mission to tackle the Wandering Heroes Trail with each of us in various stages of 'completion'. Started at Loxton and worked back towards Karoonda replacing a few soggy log books and damaged containers along the way. Also took the opportunity to detour off the series to locate other nearby caches, resulting in a very entertaining and rewarding day's caching. Thanks for the cache FLIPPER&CO!

Heading home from the Riverland after a weekend of caching adventures with LiB...
A quick detour off the main road and a quick find...
The container was a little worse for wear & the logbook needed replacing so I checked the caching kit in the back of the car & found a container, replaced the container & a new logbook was added...

Apologies for the late log. This was my final day of an epic four day caching trip to South Australia and this was the toughest day of the lot. It was 40C in the Riverland and the hot, dry and dusty conditions made it tough going. My original target of caches to find had to be toned down and aim for a more realistic number for the conditions. I kept at it till mid-afternoon and called it a day after 107 finds. Main targets were Wandering Heroes caches and a few others along the way. I took a small diversion through Veitch (or what's left of it) to look for this one. Took a bit of searching but got there in the end, Took nothing, left nothing, signed log and visited some trackables. Thanks for the cache FLIPPER&CO.

A crazy one day road trip with Sebastbat , where we claimed three firsts on WH caches for the team,
visited a few other special caches along the way, showed incredible self control by driving past hundreds,
and "leaving them for later!", and even snuck our way into Mexico for a few in the bush!

A nice detour.
Cache was sitting out in the open,
so placed back under the log.

Thanks for the caching fun FLIPPER&CO Cool

Another weekend, another foray into Wandering Hero territory. We got of to a slower start than normal thanks to a flat battery. Luckily our local roadside assistance are nearby and were quick to respond and get us going. We then made a detour to purchase a new battery before we could head out in search of a cache or two for International Geocaching Day.

This was a welcome detour from the trail and we spent a bit of time taking photos while we were here.

The cache container had a bhole in the lid and the log was in pieces. We replaced the container with one we had on board and added a new logbook in a plastic bag.

What a great trail, the weather is fine, the birds are singing and we are "in the groove". Thanks to all the cachers who put this trail together, we are having a ball and have not missed a beat, so far. 3-Kings and I have come all the way from NSW to experience this trail and it was well worth it. Oh wow, what a trail ! The WEEO and I flew down from Canberra to cache this trail and around MB and my wonderful Auntie put us up. We made it all the way to Loxton in 2 days but were shagged by the end. At Alawoona we were so hungry we drove straight to Loxton and cached in the dark back to here.

Thanks to all you cachers in the MB area for the great work in putting this together, you guys rock!

15-May-16
Traveled to Loxton early in the morning for a random geocaching adventure with my partner Lord Rossatron. We had an extremely fun day, didnt realise the Mardi Gras was scheduled for that day though! We did the caches around Loxton that we could get too and then headed 20-30km out of Loxton and started grabbing those caches!! We found 100 caches in our one day of caching in Loxton, we were pretty proud Geocachers heading back to Mildura at Night.

15-May-16
Sorry for the somewhat generic log. After taking 8-9 months to find our first 200 caches, we planned to travel over from Mildura for a day trip and knock out 100 caches to take us up to our 300th. We left at 7am and got back again around 8:30, If I counted correctly, we achieved our goal.

Having based our holiday around achieving 150 caches in a day, in the company of DAB, we set off early Sunday morning to fulfil a challenge sitting in our home town of Geelong. Camping in Loxton it was easy to start at the top end and work our way down the Wandering Heroes series and grabbing all others in our path. A fun day was had by both teams as we wandered down the hwy, appreciating all the well deserved dedication hides to our fellow cachers.
**Thanks very much FLIPPER&CO for the hide that helped add to our numbers today.**

03-Apr-16
Today was the day that two caching teams joined up for a challenge,The_Tritonz and DAB. We had set ourselves the task of 150 finds in a day. Luckily we achieved that number and then some !! We started the day very early and concluded in the late afternoon. While a good percentage of the finds were from the "Wandering Heroes" series, there were other hides in the mix. We found mysteries, traditionals and multis. We were spoilt with the landscape and plenty of photos were snapped.
There was plenty of laughs throughout the day and the weather was perfect. Being from Victoria, we were very impressed with not only the number, but the quality of the hides. Thanks to all of the CO's for an enjoyable but tiring day !! We can't wait to return here. TFTC Smile

Quick and easy - thanks Smile such a shame there is nothing left here but a sign.

We decided to take a last minute road trip to Barmera/Berri/Loxton. Of course we had to find some caches along the way. As expected, nothing can go perfectly smooth and turns out we were both not well so didn't quite get as many as planned. Arrived at our hotel only for them to tell us the booking agency we booked through had in fact, cancelled our accommodation, so not only were we now stranded and feeling very average, we had to pay twice as much as originally planned for our room.. Not exactly how we envisioned our weekend trip would pan out.

Finished our weekend away with 24 finds and one DNF that had been muggled, not a bad effort considering

TFTC!!

Project “Centroid” was on. After a bit of planning Fleabag and I decided to head towards Adelaide again for the long weekend to get 500 or so caches to move our centroid far enough away from home to complete a challenge cache in Melbourne. We managed to get 501 just for good measure.
At the same time we tried to get a few areas of Victoria done on the way there and back to start working on another challenge cache back in Melbourne.
We grabbed this one on our way to Loxton for our first nights stay.
Thanks for the cache, the hunt and the fun.

Team "NZ Fun" - funkymunkyzone, slieschke, alpenmilch80, vistra, yorkshirekiwi83 and Cats&Dragons - found this on our rather loosely planned 24 hours of cache finding record run, from midnight to midnight on the 18th of April 2014. We started with the Signal geo-art trail, headed up through the other Oz Mega 2014 trails, the Wandering Heroes series and then across to the Tour de France trail for a total of 727 finds and 11 DNFs for the day. Apologies for the copy/paste logs, but with so many caches found in a single day it was impossible to remember specific caches, but that's not to say there weren't memorable caches along the way - there were indeed some great caches, particularly along the Wandering Heroes series. Special thanks to the cache hiders: OzFiresafe, Team Hurtle, and their helpers, for the Oz Mega 2014 trails; le equipe de cinq pour la piste "Tour de France"; and all the hiders of the Wandering Heroes caches and other caches along the way that we found along the way. We started at midnight on the Signal trail and ended at midnight after a few random caches in Eudunda before making the long drive back to Murray Bridge for some well earned sleep - for some of us, the first sleep for more than 45 hours. We stopped at every cache and it was a fun day but very tiring, and I don't think I'd do it again for a very long time (I'll stop short of saying never though, like organising another mega - ha!) TFTC!!! Big Grin

Find 581 of 727 for the day.

From Auckland via Sydney I arrived at Adelaide around 10pm on the 17th to be picked up by funkymunkyzone, slieschke and Cats&Dragons (thx!). The plan was a 24h geocaching run which included picking up as many caches possible involving the three trails of Oz Mega, Wandering Heroes and Tour de France. We made it just in time back to Murray Bridge to meet up with vistra and yorkshirekiwi83 at GZ of our first cache. With the whole Team "NZ Fun" assembled the run started exactly at midnight.
In total we managed 727 finds and 11 DNFs in 24 hours. Wow what a great team effort!! TFTC

I am over from New Zealand for Oz Mega 2014 and today joined forces with fellow kiwis Yorkshirekiwi83, Cats&Dragons, Funkymunkyzone, Slieschke and Alpenmilch80 for a 24 hour non stop caching run! The log books were signed under the team name of "NZ Fun"

We started near Murray Bridge and worked our way around the Oz Mega 2014 Signal trail, then on to the OZ Mega 2014 SA trail. Once those trails were finished, we headed over to Tailem Bend and worked through the Wandering Heroes series up to Loxton. From here we made our way across to the Tour De France power trail. Whilst the power trails were our main focus, we also picked up a few other caches along the way. At the end of the 24 hours we finished with 727 cache finds!!! It was an exhausting 24 hours and we still had to drive back to Murray Bridge afterwards! Sorry for the generic logs, but a big thank you to the cache owners for all of the cache placements!

Found as part of a 24hour cache run Twisted with 5 other kiwi's while at the OZMEGA2014 Murray Bridge (Alpenmilch80, Slieschke, funkymunkyzone, vistra & Yorkshirekiwi83, ) on Friday 18th April. All logs were signed as "NZ Fun"

We had a great time and throughly enjoyed the challenge that this presented to us all, thank you to the cache owners for being able to create such a range of caches for us to complete.

We started our run at Signal, through to OZ MEGA 2014, The Wandering Hero's, Tour de France with many other caches along the way. For all that we managed we only had 11 DNF's in the whole trip which for the numbers was pretty amazing in its own right.

So again thank you for the NZ FUN Cool

Sitting in a pub in Auckland before the SA MEGA we decided it would be a really fun idea to try and see how many caches we could find within 24hours. So it was decided, team NZ Fun was born (myself, Alpenmilch80, Cats and Dragons, slieschke, funkymonkeyzone and vistra). We met at the dedicated starting point just before midnight and we were ready to go on the stroke of 12, we completed Signal, OZ Mega trails, Wandering Heros and the Tour de France with many others in between.

Thank you to the many cache owners who put time and effort into placing and maintaining these trails, we really appreciate it, we managed 727 caches within our 24hours, which was exhillerating, exhausting and loads of fun. Apologies for the generic log.

On our way to the OZ Mega event in Murray Bridge we decided to attempt a 24 hour challenge and see how many caches we could find on the wandering heroes trail. Our final count from midnight to midnight on the 13th of April 2014 was 247 caches (not too bad for a couple of grandparents).
After a bit of sleep in the car, we completed the trail the next day.
We discovered that all the preparation we put into this helped make the challenge go smoothly...
plenty of maps, batteries, lights etc. Our only pitfalls were lack of sleep and a lack of loo's along the way Smile
The only caches we missed were those that were published whilst we were on the road.... DOH

Many thanks to all the cache owners for their creative endeavour to make this trail of honour to fellow cachers.

Sorry for the generic log.... over 247 logs for the day to do
