We searched all around ground zero and surrounding area but sadly we could not find it. ??
After going through the bush between 8 and 18 steps (before the drop off began), I wasn’t able to locate it. And I am not going with my hands in small spaces to look for it, not in Australia at least ️️.
It is a nice boardwalk nevertheless

Thx for showing the mangroves here!
Thx for showing the mangroves here!
Headed out to the national park this morning nice and early so we could see the kangaroos and wallabies at sunrise. Then we did a walk out on the headland where we saw turtles. Then on our drive back stopped to do this walk. I liked the information picked up along the walk.
Once at the seat. We stepped it out and then travelled in an arc and soon had the cache in hand once a delicately removed the cache guard.

An impromptu search this morning. I thought I was the only one on the track based on the empty carpark but I had to hide behind the big tree 3 times in my efforts! It was fun at first, but on the 3rd time, I had to suppress a coughing fit (brings tears to your eyes, that does), so gave up the hunt.
Yay!!! I found one on Cape Hillsborough!!! Searched around for 20 minutes. GPS +\- 1 out. Very well camouflaged in the line of sight to the seat the midden (shell pile). Took a spoiler photo. Great little walk!! TFTC ️
Another difficult find but I guess these need added protection against fire. Replaced as found forgot pen today so here’s a pic. I overshot the mark by a bit and seem to have stumbled across an aboriginal eating place just beyond cache
10/10/21 Find #5009
After a disappointing dnf further up from here yesterday, Fangsoki and I drove straight past this one, a little too worn out to be able to give it attention. However after a stellar start to our morning today, we decided we would head here on our way back towards where we are staying.
Pulling the car in, we were pleased to see we had the place to ourselves, with no other cars around at all, and soon began our stroll.
I absolutely love rainforesty areas, and enjoyed the start of this hike as these spots are always my grounding zones.
Unfortunately, all too soon that ended and we were out in the hotter and more exposed area, but thankfully didn’t have far to go.
Arriving at GZ we thought we would find this one fairly easily, with the hint given.
Turns out we were wrong. It took some time for us to locate this cache, having looked everywhere except for the actual spot.
Thankfully Fangsoki found it after reading some logs - and the GPS only had us about 4 metres away when we found the cache in amongst some rocks. We should’ve just trusted the GPS after all!
Log signed, we made a quick journey back to the shade of the rainforest boardwalk and back to the car.
Thanks for the cache TEAM FREAK.

It has been 8 long years since I found a TEAM FREAK cache. I was very green when I started finding their caches - I was happy to see a few more still around.
Originally, we had planned to do this one yesterday. A very hot and frustrating DNF at Cape Hillsborough sapped all my energy and eagerness. Today, after going island hopping - we decided to grab this one.
I really enjoyed the walk into this one - nice and flat mostly - and more importantly - *shady*. We arrived at GZ and started the hunt. We were at this one for about 25 minutes. Reading previous logs.. stepping out to match the hint. Nothing.
I finally found the cache safe and sound. I was so glad to have crossed this one off. The cache was about 4m from GZ for me. The previous logs do not necessarily mean how the cache is hidden now either!
A great little place for a cache. This cache is the 978th oldest active cache currently in Queensland (there were a few placed on the same date). Happy to have this one crossed off.

(I actually think I met you guys our near Mirani when caching about 10 years ago!)

Biting bugs are bad today! Tftc, gps is a few metres off for me so maybe just bush bash a little further than you think
Between the bugs and blood thirsty brush I thought this was cache was going to be a bust. After fighting off the March fly I finally found it!
26/7/21 Afternoon drive to grab a cache and plan some new ones. TFTC SL Took a little while to find but in good condition
Found by me, they scratched for ages, I thought I best help. Found with NutCacheBNE and Jnr
We ignored the path closed sign, trundled on rebelliously to GZ and after a short forage found the GC
With overseas travel currently out of the question and state border closures still a lurking as possibilities, my family and some close friends decided that travelling from Brisbane to North Queensland was our best option for a Christmas/New Year escape.
Following a few nights each in Clifton Beach and Port Douglas we were now on the southwards run towards home with a stop planned at Cape Hillsborough for a couple of nights.
Today after arriving and unpacking at our accommodation I headed off for a visit to a nearby eathcache and called in here on the way home. Unfortunately the weather was not very accommodating with heavy rain falling most of the day. The rain had mostly let up by the time I arrived at the car park and I moved quickly along the boardwalk to avoid being caught in further showers. The creeks were full and flowing fast but judging by the debris around, had been much higher recently.
Arriving at GZ the rain held off and I commenced my search. It did take me some time before I was able to zero in on the cache hide but once found the logbook was signed. TFTC

Found with stairman1. This was a very pleasurable walk even though it did rain. We located the container and placed another rock on it so it can be seen. TFTH
Found with goldielover today. Thanks heaps for showing us this beautiful board walk. I would say fully wheelchair friendly except for the 15 metres to get the cache. A magic loop which took us through some beautiful rain forest through the mangroves and even some eucalyptus forest. A fully maintained track with everything. A bonus the cache. Wow what more could we ask for. Geocaching is really for everyone.
Thanks for showing us this magic spot.

Took a while to find as it was way off from the hint. The case has broken due to the sun and needs replacing. We taped it up with duct tape short term
Quick find today with the geo family as we set of for a day north of Mackay. A lovely explore here along the boardwalk. A beautiful beach just up the road too! Many thanks for the cache.
Found at 13.00hrs. Nice day for a walk around Cape Hillsborough getting some caches. It has been a long time since I have been here and it brings back great memories.

Found during our holiday in Australia -
after sunrise with kangaroos at the beach of Cape Hillsborough we had time in the morning to do the walking trails nearby. We were surprised by the mangroves' diversity - learned a lot!
Many thanks, Bigerchen

A quick easy find today with good coordinates as well as an accurate hint. SL - no swaps. The cache is in fair condition and the log is dry. This is our find #4832 - thanks to Team Freak for this cache.
Second dnf in a row there's a massive felled tree just where it should be and it's all over grown. This may need to be looked at. Cheers.
We came to Cape Hillsborough specifically for this boardwalk - we just love to see beach environment with mangroves growing around. It was a very nice hike deep into the ecosystem. Unfortunately, we had the feeling that the sand flies were starving and just waited for us to come along (One sand fly to the other: lunch is served!!!) Oh dear. We tried to keep breakes at a minimum, which is not an easy task with two little kids. Still, we enjoyed the views very much and despite many nasty bites did not regret to come here. Thank you very much. [:o)]

Found during a break in the weather. Well maintained track and variety of ecosystems.
After seeing a snake today the idea of going off the path didn't really appeal to me but oh well. I'm here now and it is found. My tip is when you are going in the right direction don't move off the path.
Very nice walk to the cache. My family and myself are on our holiday trip from Brisbane to Cairnes with our camper van. Thanks for hiding the cache. Greetings from Mainz, Germany.
Tried months ago but didn't know how to use my compass. This time with a bit of experience behind me the cache was quickly found. TFTC
Found this cache last year but for some reason we didn't log it on the app. Had a weekend camping at Hillsborough and did all the walks, and the local caches, didn't do the one where you have to get to the island. Was showing a friend this area and saw we hadn't logged it. A belated thanks for the cache.
Looked for this one in the past but have been too terrified of the potential for snakes. Finally have it in hand. Unfortunately weather has taken its toll and the junior seekers broke the lid. Sourcing a replacement from home tonight and hoping no one tries to find the cache. Thanks for hiding this one. Can't say took nothing but really left nothing this time.

Easy find for our first for the day. Visiting family who live in this beautiful part of Queensland.
Cache wet inside but log still dry
Took nothing, left balloon

A nice stroll after the other two harder walks! Interesting learning about the surrounding environment too. TFTC.
Beautiful walk. Good hide. Nice quick grab on way home. Tftc. Found by shay.
Found with wombat boy. Such a lovely walk, loved all the Blue Tiger Butterflies and the midden was really interesting too. Cleaned out cache and replaced log. Could do with a silicon sachet as it was very damp.
We were camped at nearby Smalley's Beach and went out to walk this very pretty track. There were lots of butterflies and the odd rustling in the grass that we think might've been small lizards. We enjoyed the points of interest along the way and the signs explaining about them. A cache find made it even better. A favourite point from us for this one. Thanks for bringing us here & TFTC.
Found with benjimun and kezzabiggy. Loved this one. If you turn right along the way you can halve the time taken!
What a nice walk! It takes ne hour to make the tour, but it's the worth! so a lot of different trees, a lot of butterflies, we love it! Thanks a lot! one favourite of course!
Found with the lid off and the main log is very wet. The smaller log was dry in its plastic.
Nice stroll through the mangroves today. Had the place all to ourselves so we had ample time to look around. Used our geocaching skills rather than rely on the GPS. Found the cache, thanks.

Almost stepped on a yellow belly tree snake on the path on the way #ampmky

Dropped a trackable here, to mark the end of a great day at Cape Hillsborough National Park. Found with Muzzafish and Lisa.
