Location of GZ no longer suitable with some fallen branches and unfortunately people have been dumping rubbish nearby which spoils the location
It wasn't there! There are loads of fallen trees and it wasn't under any of them.
Was looking at the same time as another geocacher and his family but we had no success. Should have read the logs as it doesn't look promising but it was in an interesting location and we were in the neighbourhood anyway
Taken off line as it looks like some fallen trees may have obscured the GZ, will maintain and relist ASAP
Thanks for showing us this great little spot and detour. Just deepenough to be able to drive through the ford today.
A quick splash through the water feature and the cache was soon in hand. Used to be a lovely well looked after area but seems nature is fighting back. A lovely spot thanks you. TNLN
Dropped in for a look today and cache still in place so good luck for the hunt. Plenty of water still flowing down the nearby creek
Found in the first place I looked after I had also checked out all other possibilities Lovely area but spoilt by the rubbish. Braved the water successfully on my onward journey TFTC teamppss
Found after spending the night at a winery in Lancefield. We decided since we had the 4WD today we'd get off the main roads. The Chief had fun crossing the ford. Some foxes have had a lovely time near GZ, not much left of a sheep apart from the wool. TFTC
Found the big tree base but couldn't pick out the cache, seems it was found recently though.
Catching up on logging.
This was found on an overnight trip to cache to Sunbury & home again.

Well this was off the main drag but lovely drive though not liking tree routes on road near end or river flowing over up a head lucky cache before lovely creek
Found while out with Cauzsa on a caching trip. Reminds me of a ford near home. Nice area.

My humble apologies for the late / amended log... After travelling around Australia for the past few months, I have managed to find all my caching associated paperwork / notes & photo's so I can (finally) log all my finds...
My sincerest thanks to all the cache owners for their hides & all the effort gone into them & I'm sorry for the generic log... I have seen many beautifull area's that I would not of seen or experience if not for your hides...

Quick find in what would otherwise be a nice area if not for the rubbish dumped everywhere Nice drive to get there. Thanks teampss
The Demolition Crew headed north of Melbourne on what we thought was going to be a wet and cold night. Luckily the rain stayed away but it was freezing. The areas visited included Wallen, Strath Creek, Broadford, Kilmore, Lancefield, Romsey, Kerrie and Clarkfield. It was a great night for a drive in these area, as we caught up on this weeks gaching news. A big thank you to all the cache owners who have placed and maintained these caches.
----
We forded the creek with about 500 mm of water over it for a quick find.

Found on a TDC run, lots of laughs and good times had while out finding caches. Thanks teamppss for the cache.
Finding this cache took somewhat longer than it should have but we did enjoy the challange of finding it. It was a much nicer spot after we left as we took out a large bag of trash but unfortunately we could not take the TV that had been dumped there! Good cache hide for your 1st one teamppss and thanks for bringing us to this lovely spot for a picnic lunch.
I hadn't read the instructions properly and arrived at the ford on the "wrong" side.... thought I'd wash the gumboots rather than get stuck trying to get geomobile accross , though geomobile was very dirty from an earlier cache and could have done with a wash!
thank you teampss for placing a cache in such a lovely spot.
thank you teampss for placing a cache in such a lovely spot.
As I arrived near GZ I pulled up short as the ford had water flowing rapidly over it. Decided that wet feet were better than a stuck car especially as I was on my own.
Nice little spot here - a shame there were no picnic facilities left.

Just made it through the river in the golf.lovely river. GPS was off by a bit.
Found finally, after a good 3/4 of an hour wandering around ! Lost gps signal at ford crossing. Great hide ! Nice quite spot and not a soul around the whole time there. Which was good because we were all spread out stumbling around the bush with no idea !!! sighned log TNLN thanks teamppss
Great hide, beautiful area. Surprised creek had water in it even though we visited in Feb
Dropped in to confirm cache is still there after no find recorded, still in place but grass a bit long getting in to the area. Hint modified a little to make it a bit easier. Creek crossing about 5 inche deep at the moment so crossable with most cars.
Hunted a while, didn't see the tree across the creek, but the creek was low, and we found a narrow place to cross.
Found a tree fallen over on the picnic side, couldn't see anywhere that matched the hint! Cache hasn't been found for almost 6 months, is it still there?
Thanks anyways teamppss for taking us to this area.

found with acb1965 came across a couple of new cachers they didnt find it and didnt stick around hope they have better luck in the future
Called by to check things out, water at ford deeper than has been in the past due to gouging of the creek bed during heavy rains. I crossed easily in my Subaru Forester but low clearance cars may have a few issues at the moment. I will leave that up to you to decide. The cache can be accessed from both sides of the creek and if you are not game to cross in the car, it is very easy to jump across the ford. There has been a tree fall in the area of GZ but the cache is still where it belongs.
6 of 10 for the trip down to Melbourne. Met up with Quasar3671 for a few caches who had been on this side of town for work. Nice spot and in the 4WD almost able to drive to GZ. Cheers and TFTC.
Caught up with Blacklegend (Marshy) for a few caches as he made his way down to Melbourne. Parked pretty close to GZ. TFTC.
Hope to be part of the world record attempt of 10/10/10 !!! Found at 4.02pm on 10th 10/10. TNLN thanks nice little area not far from home.
Had no trouble crossing the "Ford" as it had little flow and the FourBee has been lifted.

I wasn't game to take the 2wd little car over the ford, so parked in a nearby driveway and balanced across a tree to get over the ford. Found the cache without trouble - what a lovely peaceful place.
Wasn't quite game to take the 2wd through from the south side, so parked in an awkward spot and waded across. We sat for some time after making the find, enjoying the peaceful setting. Thanks.
Fun road to drive in on. Took both sides of the stream, Moneydork got there first to find the cache. Cheers Gav [5945]
We found this cache at 5:20pm as the 19th of 28 on our Australia Day Bash 2010. A pretty little spot. We were hoping that we could just cross the ford to continue our journey but we chickened out and went back the other way. Thanks from D, HA, H & A B-A.
Last cache of the day here, great spot and the first creek crossing that mrs gp has allowed me to take since getting our new car! Woo! Thanks for the excuse to get dirty and wet! TNLN
Dropped in today to check the condition of my cache and all seems ok. I was very disappointed to see that motorbikes ans 4wd's have been using the area as a bit of a rally track. Even more upsetting was to see that some low life dedcided that this was a good spot to dump an old timber fence rather than dispose of it at the tip like most law abiding citizens do. This has started to taint what was a very nice spot and great location for an out of the way cache. Please email me if more obvious rubbish is being placed at the site and I may contact the council for a clenup. Don't let my notes put you off visiting this site as it is still in a nice location.
Our friends have just moved to Romsey and we made an afternoon of Geocaching the local area, this was the second one for the day. Found at 3:30pm, took screwdriver, and left two native hunters. Found a cachet of K’NEX nearby, but left it because it smelt like rotten fish.
Found on Victorian invasion trip with Big Matt and The Rats.
Lucky the ford had a solid bottom- it looked a bit menacing early in the morning in the darkness.

Found this cache on our Victorian Invasion trip with Steeba and The Rats. After a 3am crossing of the ford the cache was quickly found. I also think we disturbed a local roo as it could be heard hopping away as we approached the GZ

Beautiful spot. A bit drizzly when at GZ, but beautiful all the same.
A bit of water in the Ford, good thing I approached from the North.

Found at 4.20pm GAFF1. What an easy ford after our last ford across Cobble Dick on the Werribee River in 2004! Now that was a few years ago now, but the water situation has really tightened up and now we are expecting to just see a dry creek bed as we saw today. This would have been a fantastic picnic ground a few years ago - Thanks teamppss.
Dropped in to check cache condition and to drop off two travel bugs- "Code 1 to region 14" and "Gotta go quilt"
Despite it being well into December, today was more like a glorious spring day: the sun was shining brightly, it wasn't too hot, and the recent rains had brought a strong touch of green to the area, and, what's more, caused a good flow of water in the creek. It was, therefore, beautiful and peaceful at GZ, and a kookaburra had a bit of a snicker as I was signing the log book. (#485/510). Thanks for bringing me here, teamppss.

A lovely out of the way spot. Lots of nice green farms around here. Out chalk in pirate and left geocoin SL TFTC
Found by Mary & David at 1510. A lovely area. What a pity the picnic facilities are gone. The ford was quite shallow, and the GeoCalais got its toes wet twice. Blackwood wattle still showing some colour. Our thanks again to TEAMPPSS.
Don't know why you would remove the facilities from such a nice picnic area. But I guess it made it a bit more empty, and easier to search.
The river was only about a foot deep when we drove through it.
Thanks, Robmc.

Great spot and a nice hide too. We'd had our picnic earlier but it would have been a nice spot to have it though. Only down side would be no picnic table. Had no trouble taking the Mazda through the water.
Thanks very much.

Wow, what a fantastic spot, a great place to come for a picnic perhaps. Didn't want to take the Benz through, although it may have made it through, so a quick run across and a quick retrieve. TFTN TFTC
Went to check where the TB had gone to but it is still there about 18 inches away from the main cache. Note the TB is a mobile cache so if you find, it take it with you and pass it on. The creek is slowly getting deeper ,nearly up to door level on Commodore but can still be easily crossed on foot.

Decided to not take the plunge as I couldn't tell quite how deep it was. Easy enough to get across though and the cache was found in a good hide. A really nice little spot out here and a jolly good spot for a cache so thanks to TEAMPPSS for a good first hide. As I walked back a vehicle came through and showed me just how deep the ford was - not too bad after all!
Dropped in to pick up TB to take to ACT for weekend cache fest. Water slowly getting deeper but Commodore didn't drown.

Arriving in the vicinity of GZ we were pleased to find it wasn’t necessary to cross the ford.
Although the facilities may have gone this is certainly still a lovely place for a picnic.
We signed the log and made no exchange.
Thank you TEAMPPSS for bringing us to this delightful place.

Drove in today to check things out and all OK. Creek has risen a little over the last few weeks but my old Commodore enjoyed a wash on the way through. I suggest you check the water depth before proceeding, especially if you are driving your pride and joy. If unsure use the alternate route around as listed in the notes.
I'm glad I did stop in time for this one, an inspection of the water over the crossing revealed a water level much higher than I would have liked. A well chosen first cache, very beautiful!
Thanks,

Congratulations on your first cache TEAMPPSS.
We love these caches in the bush and this was a beauty. Lovely and green at this time of the year, a great hide in a very pleasant spot and the creek was trickling (which made the ford impassable for the 2WD. We had approached from the Romsey end so enjoyed finding a different way on toward the Candy Mountain cache .
Took nothing.
Left TB, USA Cowboy mondo and racing car.
Our thanks to TEAMPPSS for your first cache and we hope there are many more as good as this one.

Dropped in while taking a friend home. Didn't know this excisted. It was drizzling and didn't imagine the Geo-camary would make the river crossing challange. So home to wash the car before anyone sees the mess it's in.

I found your first cache this morning while doing a short drive around the Macedon Ranges. We had breakfasted in Macedon and enjoyed the autumn colours as we approcached the cache placement from the north.
A nice easy find and then through the ford which in a few months/weeks could present problems if we have an old fashioned winter.
Thanks Teamppss for this cache in which I TNLN.

Anyway, when I saw this come up on my email last night I was excited - a pretty creek crossing in the area that I didn't know about?? As many who have done our caches know, Shelly loves a pretty valley.
Well I certainly wasn't disappointed. Grabbed this one this morning(just a little detour while out for work...ssshhh). Great hide, nice camo job, decent swaps and totally suitable spot. If I'd known about it I would have put one here, but that's what caching's about hey, being introduced to places you would never have otherwise gone to.
Congratulations to Teamppss on your first placement, I will enjoy a game of cards! I didn't have anything with me to put in but will certainly drop in some CFA promo stuff on my way home tonight.
